Imo, NXT is the better show. AEW could get there, but they're still new and trying to find themselves. Just losing me more and more.

NXT are giving away the bigger matches and treating every episode like a big deal. Whether that is smart long term or not is a question.

You could honestly just put AEW in for NXT, and I wouldn't disagree.

AEW are putting up big potential feuds in random throw away singles matches. Why should I care about PAC vs. Omega/Page? Like truly. Any Moxley match is just a match, but his character is just amazing.

And/or the whole ratings system is broken.

Half a million people watched a clip show?

I zoomed through the NXT show in 5 minutes or so. AEW was good but not great. Was disappointed that Jericho wasn't there but was also expected since he's wrestling at New Japan's WrestleKingdom 14 show tonight.

It was half clip show half slammys. If WWE airs a wrestling show on USA, taped or not, people are going to watch. And they were the best matches of the year.

                          People watch literally anything.

Think those 3am infomercials get 0 viewers? Think again.

And it's not even 500k, it's probably a few dozen or hundred who did since Nielsen ratings use a vey small sample size.

Good point on this. I was thinking of it from the perspective of someone who had already seen the matches. Obviously they'd be good to rewatch but they're more valuable to anyone just starting with NXT since the move to USA.

Well yeah, that's how the system works.

Re: AEW vs NXT Ratings War

This thread has been dead a while but I thought I'd bring it back after seeing the viewership the last two weeks. Now as we know, the last two weeks both NXT & AEW have had "Specials", AEW had Fyter Fest while NXT had Great American Bash.

                                AEW Fyter Fest:
                                7/1: AEW 748,000 0.29 18-49 demo
                                7/8: AEW 715,000 0.28 18-49 demo

                                NXT Great American Bash:
                                7/1: 792,000 0.22 18-49 demo
                                7/8: 759,000 0.20 18-49 demo

NXT Great American Bash won the Ratings "war" so to speak, and yes I know AEW is winning in the age demo thing but the amount of viewers from week to week is what got my attention. Both shows on Night 2 of their specials lost viewers, 33,000 viewers to be exact. So where did those 33,000 viewers go? It says a lot that despite having a Winner Take All Main Event, NXT still lost viewers.
