Re: WWE RAW & Smackdown Thread

So deflating to hear Vince is back in charge.

Hope you all enjoyed LA Knight, and Gunther being the IC champ. Along with all the other stuff Triple H had going in the right direction. I mean, the rumor about Seth's segment, WTF?

If this is the case, and he is running the shows from now on, it's time for my first break in 20 years.

Between WWE seeming very consistent and AEW floundering with all their drama, I really thought AEW was in serious trouble and talent with expiring contracts were gonna start favoring WWE again.

It's ironic how Vince returning will breathe new life into AEW again (if Tony can get his head out of his ***)

Yeah, Friday will be very telling but at the same time, Smackdown seemed better structured (than RAW) even under Vince.

It will also be telling how much of what Triple H has implemented or changed gets scrapped.

I could be wrong, but I do think Gunther and his IC reign will be OK. His run has helped elevate the title and nearly everyone he's worked with.

I was thinking the same thing. This has a chance to breathe new life into AEW. Can Khan get his locker room under control and stay away from all the tribalism (us vs. them), though?

I love Vince but it's clear the show was working without him as creative lead.

Is that true re; Seth? I thought it was ****ing ridiculous that it was the raw after that amazing show and he didn't say or do anything and he was relegated to the Miz role. And what's ridiculous is that they even cut away from his intro to go to break.

I don't read dirt and hate it because I think it ruins the industry but if that's true about Seth that's ****ing angering ****

And this is the problem with going too big or going out of the scope of the wrestling world.

For a long while, wrestling did whatever the **** it wanted. Then somewhere around the Muhammad Hassan time, they kowtowed to people outside the industry bitching. Those people don't understand the product and never ever ever will.

God knows what's gonna happen when the old talent and management fully get blended out. Those who appreciate and understand what makes wrestling what it is.

Sad. After all that they've done.

I wonder if they wrote LA Knight out of WM. Makes no sense HHH would book him on SD and he'd be doing the whole "can't have a LA Wrestlemania without LA Knight" to literally not have him at WM for a single promo.

Lashley I understand because his only WM plan was Wyatt.

Seeing him on that CNBC interview was creepy. Looks like he's being kept to look alive thanks to all sort of work being done. I'd rather he just went all grey and no facial hair. Sometimes that looks better than trying to pass off looking 40 at 50 when you're almost 80.

Just ridiculous. He is the embodiment of what a narcissist is. He's gonna bury Cody. Roman will hold the straps for two more years and lose them to Brock Lesnar. I'm joking but could totally see him doing that.

To go from what Saturday night was to what last night was has to be the quickest fall from grace in wrestling history. I haven't seen that bad of a wrestling show since the Russo days in WCW.

I saw someone else say this, but last night when Triple H uttered the words "best believe we're aren't going anywhere", I don't think he meant it the way people thought. He knows that the writing is on the wall. WWE is going nowhere with Vince in control.

Re: WWE RAW & Smackdown Thread

Feel like it should be noted that the whole IWC losing their minds over Vince allegedly being back in charge of creative decisions and all the alleged reports of what happened last night are exactly the issues that Mercedes/Sasha Banks had issue with McMahon about and why she and Trinity/Naomi walked away and were vilified and called every name under the sun by the same people flipping their **** right now. The same way Mercedes said the exact same thing that Rhea Ripley said a few weeks ago about fans ambushing and following wrestlers in airports and such and got vilified and called every name in the book starting with an “entitled crybaby” while those very same people were 100% behind what Rhea said and needing to put a stop to that behavior.

All that said, I’m gonna reserve judgment and not follow all this crap that dirt sheets are throwing out there as facts right now. It’s easy to write Vince is back in charge stories and talent morale is gone stuff when the company gets sold and Vince says he’s involved in creative at a higher level than the week to week stuff. These are the same people that ran with the company being sold months ago to the Saudis. They have ZERO clue what actually goes on and one guy in particular is literally a shill for AEW because they feed him stories.

I know nobody wants to hear it, but Hunter has said basically since January that he is in charge, he’s running the show and making the final decisions. They have said this over and over and glorified fans calling themselves journalists are telling you differently. It is possible for Hunter to just book a bad show. No booker has a 100% hit rate.

Beyond all that. Endeavor has no control to do anything at this point. This isn’t us buying a car and that’s the transaction. This is two multi-billion dollar companies that have agreed to terms of a sale. This probably won’t close until sometime in 2024 and that’s after passing through federal approvals for anti-trust laws. So I would imagine both companies will still be operating separately business as usual until things are official.
