                  Injury News

Bob Horner will soon find out from his doctors if his season will continue. The first diagnosis was not too positive and stated that the Atlanta third baseman could miss the remainder of the year. Horner was injured while throwing the ball during today's game. Doctors said he has a strained elbow ligament and would be out a minimum of 3 months.
Mike Parrott has to call it a season. The Seattle Mariners starting pitcher sustained a season-ending injury against the Boston Red Sox and will not play again this year according to club doctors. Parrott was injured while throwing a pitch. His doctors diagnosed it as a strained bicep muscle and stated that he would not be able to play for 7 weeks.
The season is finished for Bill Russell of the Oakland Athletics. The club announced today that he will forego the rest of the year because of injury. The Athletics shortstop suffered a torn back muscle while throwing the ball in a recent game against the Baltimore Orioles. Team doctors said that it would take at least 7-8 months to heal.
