If someone just looked at the box score, one would think that this was a blowout from start to finish. That wasn't the case, however. Rhode Island started the game on a 17-0 run, and North Florida didn't score their first basket until right at 6 minutes into the game.

After that, the Ospreys caught fire. They played the final 14 minutes of the first half almost flawlessly, scoring 54 points compared to Rhode Island's 21.

Brent Wood scored 39 points in the game, which is just shy of his career high of 42 points that came against Florida Gulf Coast last season. He scored 19 in the first half, and added 20 in the 2nd.

    Coach Matthews’ Minute
“Best 14 minutes of basketball you'll ever see. That's your NCAA scoring leader right there folks. Dude just lit it up on the Yams. The fact that Florida only dropped to #4 shows how good we are.”

Once again the North Florida Ospreys prove to be too much for the competition. The hype around Jacksonville is starting to increase as people realize just how good North Florida could be. The Ospreys are filling up stands, and are on pace to shatter their attendance record.

Brent Wood, the NCAA's leading scorer, tied his career high tonight by scoring 42 points against Florida International. He is averaging 31.3 points per game so far this season, which is way ahead of the next player Justin Burrell of St. John's who is averaging 25.6.

      Coach Matthews’ Minute
“So, why the HELL aren't we ranked yet? We're obviously better than basically every team, so we deserve to be there.”

      North Florida Ospreys Player Stats
Junior Rivera - 2 pts, 15 ast, 4 reb, stl

Is anyone following this? It's become way too easy to win, so I'm not sure if I should keep it going or start a new legacy with someone different.

In a way I'd like to see if I could get North Florida ranked, but at the same time it's hard for me to keep interest when I'm pounding on teams that I should be getting pounded by.

Just got caught up. have you consider posting at the 2k forums. There is still about 10 guys who are posting there including Super James Coach Frizzell.

As far as blowing out teams that should beat you that can be fixed by sliders or adjusting the way you play. Ei don't press or double team when ahead.

I have read some of your other legacies and you do good work. keep it up if you are enjoying it even if you don't get a ton of feedback. My Coach Young thread has oever 48,000 views but only like 600 comments that are not mine

Heading into this game, people were actually giving North Florida a chance with they way they had been playing. Memphis has been rebuilding since they went 39-1 and won the championship in 2008. They didn't even make the NCAA tournament last season, losing in the opening round of the NIT. This year they look much better, with the help of the #4 recruiting class in the nation, and have a very good chance at being back in the big dance.

The Tigers came out blazing, with athleticism that the Ospreys just couldn't match. Memphis started the game on a 13-0 run before Emanuel Dancy finally hit a 3-pointer to put the North Florida on the board. The rest of the first half went similar, with the Tigers leading 34-8 with 8:30 remaining.

The Ospreys finally started to show some life throughout the second half. After trailing by 20 or more points for the majority of the game, they started to put it together when it mattered. As the game closed down, they brought the lead to just 7, 75-68 with 1:42 remaining in the game. Cliff Slattery stole the inbounds pass afterwards and hit a lay-up to make it 75-70. Woody Goode hit a huge 3 on Memphis' next possession to make the lead back up to 8, but Brent Wood answered with a 3 ball of his own. Kemp drew a foul with 33.6 remaining, and hit the first, and second free throw. 80-73 Memphis. UNF turned the ball over on the next possession, ending their chances.

Interesting note, this was Emerson Riley's first game that he didn't score 10 points in. He only scored 4 points on the night on 2-11 shooting. Going into the game his career FG% at UNF was 63%.

                Coach Matthews’ Minute
“That was pretty lame. We'll be back here in Memphis, and these fans will be booing me after we wipe the floor with them. Had Riley not had two too many doughnuts last night we probably would have won this game.”

No write up. Sorry. We were losing the entire game up until the last 30 seconds when we managed to tie it and take it into overtime. Really wish I had took a couple notes on the ending.

This years game in Tampa had a very similar result to last year's, with the Bulls winning yet again against the feisty North Florida Ospreys.

South Florida dominated from the start, which has been a problem for the Ospreys recently. They continue to dig themselves in deep holes, and have to try to pull their way out of them. The Ospreys tried to fight back in the second half, but could never get within less than 9.

                      Coach Matthews’ Minute
“I think the reason they won this game is obvious, they clearly messed with the goals to give themselves a shooting advantage. My team doesn't allow teams to shoot 63% from the floor. Never have, never will.”

North Florida beat Cleveland St. in Chattanooga tonight in the opening round game of the Railroad classic. They will play Appalachian St, who beat Tennessee-Martin in the other opening round game.

The Ospreys won this game, despite an unusually horrible shooting night from the NCAA's leading scorer Brent Wood. The rest of the team picked up his slack however, and dominated the boards. Freshman Cliff Slattery had 9 offensive rebounds in the game, and the team had 20. This allowed UNF to prevail despite shooting 3-21 from behind the arc.

                        Coach Matthews’ Minute
“This has to be the easiest tournament I've ever been involved in, it's almost as much of a waste of time as playing in our conference.”

North Florida continues to stumble after their terrific start. Appalachian St. came out slow, but came out in the second half gunning. The Mountaineers had three players with 17 or more points, led by senior point guard Ryann Abraham.

Brent Wood, the nation's leading scorer, continues to struggle. After putting up 39 and 42 point games back to back, he has been in a steady decline. Wood scored a season low 14 points tonight, and was actually benched for a while in place of freshman Uche Njila.

                            Coach Matthews’ Minute
“You guys just witnessed the upset of the year. No one in their right mind should have picked App St. over us. Our team beating #1 Florida at Florida was nothing compared to this unthinkable loss.

Also, some desperate, ridiculously attractive female please fornicate with Brent Wood so that he can get his confidence up and get his shot back. Thanks.”
