well i plan on doing the off-season then stopping. then i plan on changing doing massive edits to NBA 2K11, and re-creating this. Should be some hard work, but with the customization of 2k, it can be done. Some things may be messed up, like where a player was drafted in 2k11, since the placement of teams won't be the same, but I'll just ignore that. I really think I can do it.

Re: The Association (2K10)
While the playoffs are in full-flight, I'd thought I'd give you a little NBA off-season preview. A lot of good players are going to be on the market, and teams can go from worst to first, vice versa, in a span of a couple days.
Here are the top free agents for each position and what we think will occur.
Point Guard Position
To win in the NBA, you need a floor-general. The teams currently still in the playoffs mostly do: Chauncey Billups, Jason Kidd, Steve Nash, Mike Bibby, John Wall, Devin Harris, John Wall, and Russel Westbrook. The only team that doesn't really is the Lakers with Steve Blake. Still, he is a solid vet, and Kobe is a floor-general in himself. Here are the teams that need a new PG or an upgrade at the position, and the players that could be available.
Teams:
(Yep, a lot of teams. Not even including the Spurs, Grizzlies, Rockets, and Pistons who may be in need if their prized free agents doesn't re-sign with them)
Players
1. Tony Parker
Parker will soon be 29 years old, and will be an unrestricted free agent. He had a solid year, but the Spurs were bounced in the first round. Parker will most likely want a big contract, something the Spurs may not be able to commit to. The Spurs, and two other teams will most likely be the front-runners for Parker; the Raptors, and the Lakers. While the Raptors don't need a point guard with Calderon, he could possibly be traded, plus Parker has shown he is great at playing the 2 as well. Also, many international players love playing in Toronto. The Lakers need someone to finally fill that prized point guard position in L.A. Some player can't refuse that.
2. Russel Westbrook
Westbrook has a team option, the Thunder would have to be stupid not to accept it.
3. Chauncey Billups
The Denver Nuggets have a big choice to make, and we think it will be not accepting the team option of Billups. Billups has been great in Denver, but this playoffs he has not played his best. Plus the Nuggets already have future point guard Ty Lawson, and need to try and re-sign their whole entire starting five since they are all free agents. Billups will most likely be left in the cold, and if so he is a candidate for L.A. Also, another destination Billups may love is Detroit, which if they don't re-sign Stuckey, Detroit will need a point guard.
4. Tyreke Evans
Evans has a 2 year team option, which the Kings will definitely accept. The Kings though, may move him over to shooting guard next year.
5. Johnny Flynn
Flynn has played great in Minnesota, so his 2 year team option will be accepted.
6. Derrick Rose
Rose has a 1 year team option. The Bulls will accept it, and probably try to get an extension with Rose.
7. Brandon Jennings
Jennings has turned out be a franchise player for the Bucks, so they'll accept his 2 year player option.
8. Aaron Brooks
Brooks will most likely not re-sign with the Rockets right away, but will test him self in the open market. The Rockets can still get him, but will have to win a bidding war. Brooks has end-less destinations as he is young, and has a bright future ahead of him.
9. Rodney Stuckey
Stuckey wants a deal with Detroit, but unfortunately Detroit may not want a deal with him. Stuckey is a score-first point guard, something the Pistons are not sure that they want. If the Pistons don't re-sign him, many teams will want the young point guard. A team like the Clippers would jump on him at the first instant.
10. Mario Chalmers
Chalmers has been decent with the Heat, but the Heat don't need mediocre players. They need a star right now, as their team is struggling. Expect the Heat to not re-sign Chalmers and try and take their team in a different direction. Chalmers should sign with a team as a back-up PG, or with a team that missed out on the top players.
11. Michael Conley
Conley shined in the playoffs for the Grizzlies, and he wants to re-sign with them. We expect him to do so, as the Grizzlies should want to keep him.
12. Delonte West
2011 Most Improved Player of the Year, will definitely not re-sign with the Cavs. He thinks he can make a lot of $ as a free agent, after a very good comeback year. West is a pretty good option for teams, as he can play the point and off-guard, and would be a great 6th/7th man.
13. Darren Collison
Very, very interesting to see what happens here. The Celtics traded for Collison half-way through the season and did better after the trade. However, Collison was struggling only averaging 7 ppg. The Rondo-Collison line-up gave them many mis-matches on defense, and weren't as explosive as Boston thought they would be. While most teams don't decline 2 year player options for 2nd year players, this one might not be accepted. It is cheap though, so the Celtics won't gain much for declining it. Collison most likely wants to leave, as he doesn't want to be a back-up nor a shooting guard. If a free agent, Collison will be a top player due to his very young age, and his potential. He has shown to play very good as a starting point guard when Chris Paul was hurt.
14. T.J. Ford
Ford will in no way re-sign with Indiana, and his agent claims he's looking for a big pay day. Because of this, many teams aren't interested in Ford. He is very quick, but small and not worth the money he is expected to get. The team that signs Ford will be the team that missed out on all the top guards, and needs someone badly.
15. Jerryd Bayless
Bayless has a one-year team option which the Blazers may or may not accept. It all depends if they think they can get a top free agent. However, even if they do, Bayless is a solid back-up.
16. Andre Miller
The old vet still has something left in the tank, and will not re-sign with the Wizards. He will try and sign with a contender that needs him, and may have to accept being a back-up.
Shooting Guard Position
A three-point shooter, or a player that can get to the rim is always important. Many teams going into this off-season need an upgrade at this position to generate more offense.
Teams
(Also, the Nuggets may join this group if J.R. Smith bolts, and the Kings will also if Evans stays at the point)
Players
1. Kobe Bryant
Don't get your hopes up, while Kobe is unrestricted, he has already claimed that he will re-sign with the Lakers.
2. Allen Iverson
Iverson will most likely retire this year unless Philadelphia re-signs him. Iverson is too old to re-start with a different team, while he still can get it done averaging 15 ppg this year.
3. Vince Carter
The Magic have a team option with Carter, and they will most likely decline it. It's worth $17 mil, something that Carter is not worth any more. However, the Magic still may re-sign Carter for less later. If not, Carter is an old veteran that teams may jump on. A team that needs a shooting guard that can win now like the Pacers may offer him a lot of money.
4. Eric Gordon
Gordon has become a really good player for the Clippers, one who they believe in. They will accept his 1 year team option.
5. O.J. Mayo
Even after a rough playoff series, the Grizzlies will no doubt, accept Mayo's 1 year player option.
6. Michael Redd
Redd is a very good player, yet is once again stuck on a bad team. While it would seem Redd would leave to find a great team he can win on, he is content in Cleveland, and wants to stay. Cleveland will try and sign him for less, as they do not want to spend too much, hoping to get a star in free agency. However, if Redd does not except the most likely low offer, he will be a targeted free agent.
7. J.R. Smith
This is the player that intrigues most teams hoping to get a top player in free agency. Smith was great this year, dominating in the playoffs, and helping out Carmelo. He has already claimed he will test free-agency, and wants the biggest pay-day possible. All teams trying to get a shooting guard/small forward are all going to bid over Smith. He can be that last piece to the puzzle, or possibly be a franchise player. No doubt, Smith will get the money he wants.
8. Leonardo Barbosa
Barbosa has a player option, which he has already informed the Suns, he intends to decline. Barbosa is under-the-radar, after averaging 20 ppg, for a terrible Suns team. He was un-happy in Phoenix, and many teams will now try and get him. Barbosa can score very well, and is one of the quickest players in the league.
9. Jason Richardson
Another Phoenix player intends to leave. Richardson said he wants to test the waters, and see how much he is worth. Richardson won't get much, as he is old now, but he can still produce. He averaged 14 pgg on the Suns, so he could be solid bench player for many teams.
10. Jamal Crawford
Crawford has been a great scorer as a 6th man for the Hawks, and he loves it there. Atlanta will most likely re-sign Crawford.
11. Roger Mason
Mason has been a solid shooter while only earning $464K for the Spurs the past couple years. The Spurs really think Mason is a great bench player, so we expect them to re-sign him.
12. Courtney Lee
Lee struggled all year for the Nets, and has been unhappy about his minutes. He will probably decline his player-option and go to another team. Lee is a good shooter, and would fit well coming off the bench.
13. John Salmons
Salmons is an under-rated player in the NBA, who is very good at scoring the rock. He wants to leave Chicago, and join the free agent class. There is a market for him out there, as many teams want a solid veteran to come off the bench.
Small Forward Position
Top players are soon-to-be free agents at the small forward position, and there is a big market for them this year.
Teams
(The Spurs, Wizards, Pistons, Knicks and Nuggets could join if their starters at their small forward position leave)
Players
1. Carmelo Anthony
A lot of hype is starting to surround Anthony about his decision during free agency. Anthony has a player option, and he may not accept it if Denver fails to be successful in the rest of the playoffs. He may also want a bigger market for endorsements than Denver. You can bet every team will throw money at him if available, but a team like the Wizards may be a good option due to a good market in D.C., and the ability to completely build around him. Also, Anthony may decline the player option, in hopes for a bigger deal with Denver.
2. Kevin Durant
No worries, Thunder fans. Durant and Oklahoma City are already working on a contract.
3. Caron Butler
Butler has grown really fond of D.C. lately, and has recently said he may want to stay. But the Wizards want to completely re-build the team, and Butler doesn't really fit that picture. So we expect Butler to be a free-agent, and one that teams really want. Cleveland, Miami, and the 76ers will be his most likely possible destinations.
4. Paul Pierce
Pierce has recently said he wants to be a Celtic for life. It looks that way, as Boston and Pierce will most likely agree to a deal.
5. Tayshaun Prince
Detroit is not sure whether to keep Prince this off-season or not. He doesn't fit their plans for the future but is still talented. But he will fit another team's plans for sure, as he is still a talented, defensive small forward. He is not a star player, or a player you want to build around, but he can boost your team's defensive play, and give you a decent scorer.
6. Wilson Chandler
Chandler definitely wants to re-sign with the Knicks, but it is up to the Knicks if they want to. If they refuse to, they could possibly try and up-grade their SF position, since they do still have a decent amount of CAP room left. However, we find it likely that Chandler will stay a Knick after a solid season.
7. Richard Jefferson
Looking back on it, the Spurs signing Jefferson was somewhat of a disappointment for them. They did win a championship, but it was in spite of Richard Jefferson's poor play. They will most likely not sign him this off-season and he will be a free agent. Jefferson still has the potential to be a 20 point scorer, but it will not be with the Spurs. A possible place for him is Milwaukee, who needs another scorer to go along with Brandon Jennings.
8. Shane Battier
Battier has already claimed he has no interest in being a free-agent, and him and Houston will agree to a deal in the future.
9. Jared Dudley
Dudley has told the Suns he wants to leave, and after a solid year shooting the 3 ball, some teams are interested in him. Dudley will be a great bench player for a team that needs another shooter.
10. Al Thornton
Thornton intends to leave the Clippers and become a free agent, but not many teams will try and sign him. He has a questionable work ethic, and decision making, but still is a good scoring option. A team that needs a scorer will most likely end up with him.
11. Andre Kirilenko
Kirilenko has played well in Sacramento, but has never liked it there. Because of this, he will test his value in free agency. Kirilenko is a tall player, who can shoot, played good defense, and provide match-up problems. He won't get the same contract ($17 mil), but none-the-less a team will sign him.
12. Thaddeus Young
Young had problems with the Philadelphia front office, and coaching staff and claims he played bad because of it. He now is a free agent and it is up to teams if they believe him. He has a lot of potential, but has played poor as of late. No doubt, Young is a good player, but the thing is, is that he is going to want a big pay-day. He will get signed, but because of a team over-paying for him.
13. Danilo Gallinari
The Timberwolves traded for Gallinari last year, and he has played well averaging 10 ppg for them. He has a team option, which we expect the Wolves to accept.
Power Forward Position
This position can fill a huge need for a team this off-season. You can get a bruiser down low who is a great rebounder. Post presences are available, and also some great shooters who can stretch the defense.
Teams
(The Mavericks, Grizzlies, and Hornets also may be in need if their star player at the PF position doesn't re-sign)
Players
1. Pau Gasol
Gasol has a 2 year player option, in which the Lakers would be crazy not to accept.
2. Dirk Nowitzki
Dirk can't seem to get it done in Dallas. Now is his chance to see if he can get it done somewhere the else. The problem is, is that he loves Dallas and Mark Cuban, but wants to win a championship badly. This will be a tough decision to make, but we believe if he leaves, he will at least do a sign and trade for the Mavericks. That way he can go to any team, regardless of cap space.
3. Zach Randolph
Randolph proved critics wrong in Memphis, being a great scoring option down low, and actually providing effort. Now he's leaving Memphis looking for a big pay day. He'll get it due to his play this year for the Grizz. The team that gets him will most likely want a good scoring threat down low, someone possibly like the Thunder.
4. David West
West has a player option to leave New Orleans, but he seems likely to accept it. He is happy as a Hornet, and if the Hornets make some decent moves this off-season they could be a contender.
5. Michael Beasley
The Heat have a team option for Beasley after he averaging 23 ppg, and 10 rpg last year. Miami should accept, since it is a cheap price also, and then be able to try and sign another star with their huge cap space.
6. Kevin Love
The Timberwolves have a team option for Love next year, but there is a dilemma. Love and Jefferson play bad together, and the Wolves have taken notice. They have made it their goal to get rid of one this off-season. While the Wolves should accept this team option, Love still could be part of a trade. If not, then Jefferson will be.
7. Anthony Randolph
The Warriors have a team option for Randolph, one they're bound to accept. They need to continue developing Randolph, who has all the potential in the world, behind Stoudemire.
8. Jason Thompson
As much as Thompson has been complaining about Sacramento, the forward will have to stay there another year, because the Kings have a team option which they'll accept.
9. Carl Landry
The Rockets' hustle man, most likely won't get too much $ this off-season. So we expect him to stay in Houston. If not, which would be a big surprise, he would be a great pick-up for a team needing a big man off the bench.
10. Kenyon Martin
Another Nugget player may leave, and we expect Martin to do so. Martin wants the most money he can get, and the Nuggets probably can't provide him with that. We expect him to be a unrestricted free agent next year.
11. Boris Diaw
Diaw was a solid player for the 8th seed Bobcats, and he liked his time in Charlotte. With a player option, it seems like he'll accept it this off-season.
12. Troy Murphy
Murphy is one of the most under-rated players this free agency, and he still hasn't commented on what he wants to do. The door is open for him to leave Indiana, and if he does many teams would love him. He isn't too expensive, and he is a great 3 point shooter, who also grabs a lot of boards. Murphy is a great veteran pick-up this off-season.
13. Glen Davis
The Celtics' hustle player is though highly of by most NBA teams, surprisingly. Davis could get a big contract for a bench player, this off-season, as teams around the league try to solidify their bench. The Celtics most likely don't want to sign him.
Center Position
The Center takes care of the paint, protecting it with defense, rebounding, and in the low-post. All of these attributes are vital to a successful team.
Teams
(The Rockets, Hawks, Grizzlies, 76ers, and Pacers could join this list)
Players
1. Yao Ming
The often-injured 7'6 center has publicly stated that he wants to re-sign with Houston, but it is Houston who is not sure. Ming will want a big deal, and the Rockets aren't sure if their willing to pay that much for him, since he is on the DL so much. However, he did play in 80 games this year, so he has been healthy lately. If not re-signed by Houston, a lot of teams will go after Yao.
2. Brook Lopez
The Nets have a team option here, and they should easily accept it.
3. Al Horford
The Hawks will try and do what they can to re-sign Horford, who has been a very solid center for them since they drafted him. He should stay in Atlanta, however if not, he will most likely be the most targeted center due to his age.
4. Nene
Nene has a player option here, which he will most likely accept, possibly putting the Nuggets into even a deeper financial hole with all their free agents.
5. Marc Gasol
Gasol has been a great player inside for Memphis ever since he came over from Spain. He is very interested in testing his worth in the free agent market, so it seems as though he will be wooed away from Memphis.
6. Marcus Camby
Camby is considering retirement after another solid year in the NBA, but if he decides to return, he will try and sign to a veteran team that needs another piece to the puzzle for a championship. After all, he still was one of the best rebounders in the league last year.
7. Greg Oden
Oden has been a major draft bust, but many teams believe he hasn't had any chances. He was injured in Portland and then had trouble with management, and then played for a terrible Washington team, on which he wasn't so bad on averaging 9 ppg. Now he has a new chance to start over with a new team. Oden will be sought after by any team needing a center, as most believe he still has potential.
8. Tyson Chandler
Chandler has been a decent player for the Bobcats, and would like to stay in Charlotte, but the Michael Jordan and his management may want an upgrade at the position. If so, they will disregard Chandler and go after Horford, Oden, or try and trade/draft a center. Meanwhile, Chandler will still be a starting NBA center most likely next year, as he has put up good numbers and is cheap.
9. Roy Hibbert
Sources say Hibbert already wants to leave Indiana, as he was angry about the amount of touches he got on offense, and the amount of playing time he received. So, now teams will try and sway Hibbert to joining them, as having a 7 footer who can rebound and block shots always helps.
10. Joakim Noah
The Bulls have a team option with Noah, and since he has been playing well, they should no doubt accept it.
11. Shaquille O'Neal
O'Neal can't get his 5th ring with the Mavs, so he will either join another team in quest of another ring, or retire. It sounds likely he will keep playing, as it has been reported that he can't leave the game.Last edited by RayAllen20; 05-11-2010, 01:26 PM.I will always, always be a Jets fan. Re: The Association (2K10)
And the Nuggets have an interesting off-season. Billups should be gone, Smith will go to what team will pay him the most, Carmelo could possibly leave, and Kenyon Martin will test free agency too. The team could be in shambles. Atleast they have Wesley Johnson. Other than John Wall, he's been the 2nd or 3rd best rookie.I will always, always be a Jets fan. But trust me it hurts.Comment

Hold on there, Knicks might not get past the Hawks.

It's sad to see my favorite team fall to pieces (even in a virtual world). I hope 'Melo stays and they try to rebuild, but only better this time.Comment

Re: The Association (2K10)

An old, veteran squad in the Los Angeles Lakers, who have been here many times before face the young, pesky Oklahoma City Thunder who have never traveled this far into the playoffs. However, the Thunder hold home court for this series, although it's about the only advantage they hold. Kobe Bryant vs. Kevin Durant sounds great right? Only problem is Durant has to play with a twisted ankle, which is hurting his mobility and athleticism. Meanwhile, Bryant is at the top of his game, anchoring a Laker upset over the #1 overall seed in the Western Conference, the Dallas Mavericks. Russel Westbrook would have a big speed advantage over Steve Blake, but with his twisted ankle, his speed should be minimized. Jeff Green is still unsure of when he will return or if he will return, and until then Nenad Krstic and Serge Ibaka have to step up on offense. Ibaka struggles on offense (except for his monster jams), but can defend Gasol on the other end. Krstic, on the other hand, can spread the floor with his 15 foot jumper, but could be eaten alive by Bynum inside. Sefolosha is expected guard Kobe, as he is a excellent defender, and Artest will guard Durant. Also, it will be Kobe trying to slow down Westbrook. The Thunder bench is extremely deep, especially if Green returns, with James Harden, Nate Robinson, Craig Brackins, and possibly Serge Ibaka.
Prediction: Lakers 4, Thunder 1
Game 1
The Lakers had one goal throughout this game; Shut down Kevin Durant. And boy did they do that, as Ron Artest held him to only 12 points, in an abysmal game for the 4th year superstar.
Kobe Bryant didn't have such bad luck, as he dropped 32 leading the Lakers to their 2nd straight game 1 road victory. The Lakers were concerned when in the 2nd quarter, Pau Gasol looked to have injured his knee, but he came back from that and scored 28 points and grabbed 14 boards. Later, he confirmed it was nothing to worry about. Ron Artest didn't just have a solid defensive night, but he hit 4 threes and finished with 19. Bynum teamed up with Gasol inside, totaling 14 points and 14 rebounds. Then Lamar Odom came off the bench and came up with 12 points. The Thunder couldn't find much offense as James Harden lead the way with 21 points. Westbrook, still hurt, and being guarded by Kobe Bryant had 14 points and 9 assists in a decent effort. Nenad Kristc was a post threat during this game, dropping 17 on the Lake Show. Serge Ibaka tried his best to excite the crowd with some big dunks, and even showed some touch around the basket with 10 points, but he was clearly outdone by Gasol. The Lakers had at one point a 17 point lead deep in the 4th. With the bench in for L.A., the Thunder rallied to finish the game only down 8, but for the most part this game was all Lakers.
The Thunder are going to need to come back and win Game 2 on their own home floor if they want to stay in this series. Losing 2 games on your home court almost guarantees you a series loss. If they are going to do so, Kevin Durant must step up.
Game 1 Final Score: Lakers 95, Thunder 87
Game 2
The Lakers sent the message early, with a 39-26 1st quarter lead, telling the young Thunder they weren't going to back down. Even with strong outings from Durant and Westbrook, the Lakers continued their dominance in the series, taking 2 in OKC.
Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol were both on their game during this one, as Kobe dropped 23, and Gasol had 22 points and 14 boards. Ron Artest, once again hit 4 treys, finishing with 16. Andrew Bynum was a force inside with 16 and 13, and Lamar Odom helped him out with 10 points. All the Lakers showed up, and they controlled the entire game. After a 13 point fourth quarter lead, the Thunder never got within 5, and eventually the Lakers to the game by 11. Kevin Durant had 27 and 9, despite Ron Artest's great efforts. Westbrook also fought off his injury, finishing with 20 points and 9 dimes. However, everyone else on the Thunder didn't make contribution on offense. Nate Robinson had 11, but James Harden who has been big throughout this playoffs was shut down with only 6. The Thunder needed a bigger effort from the rest of their team, and now face a huge 2-0 hole before heading to L.A.
This series is most likely over as the Lakers have captured home court and the series lead. In fact, if they play the way they have been playing a sweep could be well on its way. The Thunder will need to somehow return the favor, and steal 2 games in L.A., a daunting task.
Game 2 Final Score: Lakers 101, Thunder 90
These are two even teams, but the injuries and inexperience may be too much for the Thunder to handle.
Game 3
The Lakers have put the Oklahoma City Thunder on the brink of elimination, and put themselves on the verge of the finals, with a 92-81 win in OKC.
Kobe Bryant continues his great performances in this years playoffs with 29 points leading the Lakers. Lamar Odom was also very helpful as he dominated Jeff Green on offense, scoring 21. Then the Purple & Gold inside duo of Bynum and Gasol both had 13 points, while Bynum grabbed 10 boards and Gasol pulled down 16. The Thunder meanwhile, had no offensive power at all. Durant and Westbrook each had 18, but other than them, no one on the team was successful. Nate Robinson atleast had 11, but the rest of the team was absent. James Harden was shut down, and so was the whole inside game of OKC. The Lakers had a comfortable lead throughout the game, but the Thunder eventually cut it to 6 before the final quarter. Then, a Kobe Bryant lead run stopped the Thunder from coming closer, and the Lakers went on to take a 16 point lead with 5 minutes left. The Thunder cut it to 11 before the final horn sounded, but the Lakers still had taken a 3-0 series lead.
The Thunder have watched the Nuggets rally back from a 3-0 deficit before losing in Game 7, so they certainly know it is possible. The Lakers however, seem to be a much better team in this series and will attempt to close it out with a sweep.
Game 3 Final Score: Lakers 92, Thunder 81
Game 4
Kobe Bryant does what he does, and the Thunder knows there is no way of stopping him. He scored 41 points, but nonetheless OKC pulled out a victory.
Durant wasn't even close to as successful as Bryant was, instead only scoring 19 in the win. However, he got some much needed help from his teammates. Harden and Westbrook both had 16, as they helped the Thunder run and gun against the Lake Show. Jeff Green and Nenad Krstic also each had 13, as they managed to keep up with the dominant Laker inside game. Then Nate Robinson had 10 points off the bench, giving the Thunder some points in a place where they needed it after Game 3. For the Lakers, Kobe did all he could. He scored 41, almost half of the teams 93 points. Ron Artest was his right hand man throughout the match with 28, and 4 threes. Together, they kept the Lakers in the game for as long as they could. Pau Gasol only scored 11, and the rest of the Lakers were awfully quiet. To close out the series they didn't get the production they needed from their role players, and got handed a 14 point beat down.
The Lakers return to OKC, still up 3-1 against the young Thunder. The Thunder do have a healthy Jeff Green now, which could make a big difference in this Western Conference Finals.
Game 4 Final Score: Thunder 107, Lakers 93
Game 5
Kevin Durant scored 33 points, and corralled 13 boards, and let the Lakers know that they'd have to advance on another night, as the Thunder escaped with a 101-92 win.
The Thunder were down 3 heading into the 4th, and were once again up against the best closer in the game, Kobe Bryant. Then the 'Durantula' stepped up scoring 17 points in the final quarter of the game, rallying his team past the Lakers. While much of the credit can be given to the Thunders' big star, his supporting cast came through. Russel Westbrook tallied 16 points and 13 dimes, and Jeff Green contributed with 13 points. Nenad Krstic was also helpful with 11 inside. Kobe was magnificent with 35, put couldn't put the Thunder away. Artest also continues to score well, with 21 and Andrew Bynum had 14 and 10. Pau Gasol struggled putting the ball in the basket, shooting 3-13, and finishing with 9 points. Durant has officially emerged as one of the premier players in the league, with his best playoff performance of his career, outdueling the 'Black Mamba' himself.
The Thunder are now trailing 3-2, and have put this series back up into the air. The next game will be at the Staples Center, and if the Lakers can't close it out there, they are in trouble.
Game 5 Final Score: Thunder 101, Lakers 92
Game 6
The Kevin Durant-lead Thunder put the Lakers on the edge during Game 6, trying to force a Game 7 in front of their own home crowd. Instead, Kobe Bryant finished the game on fire, and helped the Lakers advance to the Finals.
Kevin Durant had another monster game with 35 points and 14 boards, but Kobe hit shot after shot in the 4th, eventually icing the win. Bryant had 34, and 14 of those came in the 4th, much like Durant during Game 5. Bryant hit 2 threes, and 5 free throws, and took a 2 point Laker lead and stretched it to 12 during the last two minutes. The final score was a 8 point Laker victory, eliminating the Thunder. Pau Gasol had a solid game during Game 6, scoring 13 and rebounding 10. Artest had 12, Bynum 11, and Odom had 10 off the bench. Westbrook and Green both had 14, trying to help out Durant, but their team came up short. Harden once again struggled, as the Thunder bench had a lackluster performance.
L.A. will advance to the Finals to face the Nets, the same team that at one point embarrassed the Lakers by 40 at the Staples Center. The Thunder will head into the off-season, hoping to give this team a boost, to get past the Western Conference Finals next year.
Game 6 Final Score: Lakers 92, Thunder 84
Series Result: Lakers 4, Thunder 2

Re: The Association (2K10)
(2)@(1)
The Knicks and Nets are seperated by only a river, and these two teams have been hyped up in their respective areas. Now, we will see who the actual better team is, as these two east coast rivals get set for a 7 game series. New York has a problem on the defensive end, guarding James and Wade. The Knicks have decided to have Tracy McGrady, who has been known to play good defense at times, guard LeBron James. James should be able to capatilize on this, and also the Knicks are forced to put Wilson Chandler on Dwyane Wade. Chandler is a mediocre defender, giving the Nets a big mismatch on offense. Steve Nash will have to try and keep up with Devin Harris, who has been known to exploit guards who are slower than him. He has been successful all year against Nash, and is expected to do so this series. The Knicks however, do have on advantage. This is Chris Bosh, as no one on the Nets matches up with him too well. The best solution is LeBron James, who will have to bang down low with Bosh. He can definitely do it, but Bosh will put his pick and roll and post defense to the test. Brook Lopez has a decent height advantage on David Lee, and the Nets should feed him a lot in the post.
The Nets just have too much advantages on offense, and should be able to handle the Knicks.
Prediction: Nets 4, Knicks 2
Game 1
It wasn't LeBron James or Dwyane Wade during Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals. No, it was Devin Harris who torched the Knicks, helping the Nets take a 1-0 series lead.
Harris had 24 points and 6 assists, flying by Steve Nash every oppurtunity he had. James and Wade weren't so bad themselves, as LeBron had 21 and 13, and Wade finished with 23. Brook Lopez also joined the mix, scoring 14 and corralling 11 boards. The game was extremely tight heading into the final quarter, but the Nets distanced themselves by outscoring the Knicks by 8. Chris Bosh did all he could for the Knicks dropping 33, and grabbing 15 rebounds. The rest of the Knicks didn't play their best, as Wilson Chandler was next with 11 and T-Mac had 10. Steve Nash, while getting torched on defense, had 12 assists but only 4 points in a rough game 1 for him. The Knicks had too much mismatches on defense, leading the Nets to take the first game of the series.
The Nets were expected to win Game 1, so the Knicks aren't in too much of a hole. A win at the Izod Center for Game 2 would be instrumental, but they'll need to find creative ways to defend these Nets, and find some more help for Chris Bosh.
Game 1 Final Score: Nets 99, Knicks 90
Game 2
The Knicks never had a lead once in regulation, yet they still managed to force OT, and put this Nets team on the edge. However, LeBron James refused to let his team lose, and New Jersey's solid defense put the nail in the coffin.
The Knicks had been close the entire game, but trailed by 10 heading into the 4th. Chris Bosh started to pick up his game, and with the help of 3 threes by Wilson Chandler in the quarter, the Knicks drew even with the Nets. With 20 seconds left Wilson Chandler drove by Chris Douglas-Roberts and jammed it on him, tying up the game and silencing the crowd. Devin Harris let the clock run down, and then gave it to LeBron for an iso. LeBron drove past Tracy McGrady, and when Chandler came over for help, it didn't matter. James elevated over Chandler dunking over him, taking the lead with 3.6 seconds left. The crowd went into a frenzy and the Knicks called a timeout to set up a play to tie the game. The Knicks got what they wanted as Steve Nash came off screens from Bosh and Lee and received a pass at the three point line. Instead of taking the 3, Nash took one dribble and nailed the open two to send the game to overtime. In OT, the game was back and forth, and thanks to a T-Mac jumper, the Knicks took their first lead of the game with a minute left, 98-96. From there though, the Nets dominated. A Devin Harris and LeBron pick and roll, lead to an easy LeBron jam to tie it up. Then Chris Bosh missed a jumper, and the Dwyane Wade ran the floor to perfection, and finished with a tough lay-in over Steve Nash. The Knicks had their chance to tie, but a Nash & Bosh pick and roll, lead to Nash being double teamed. The shot clock was running out, and Nash was forced to pass it to David Lee, who had to helplessly brick a three. The Nets grabbed the board, and instead of waiting for the Knicks to foul, Wade grabbed the long rebound, raced up court, and ended the game with a jam with only 5 seconds left. Pandemonium ensued at the Izod Center.
LeBron had 33, 6, and 6 in a stellar performance leading the Nets to a 2-0 series lead. Dwyane Wade was also fantastic as he scored 24 and assisted 8. They were mostly the Nets offense, but Brook Lopez gave them a solid post presence with 14 and 12 inside. Wilson Chandler lead the Knicks with 4 threes and 25 points, and T-Mac complimented him with 22. Chris Bosh had a rough start, but finished with 19 and 17. Steve Nash rebounded from last game and out-played Devin Harris with 14 points and an astounding 18 assists.
The Nets did what they were suppose to do, win home games. This series is certainly not over though, as the Knicks have two straight home games, and could win those then steal another in New Jersey. Anyway, it will be interesting to see how the Knicks react after such a tough loss in a thrilling game. One thing can be certain, MSG will be rocking for Game 3.
Game 2 Final Score: Nets 103, Knicks 98
Game 3
Devin Harris is often labeled as James and Wade's little helper. Well maybe no so much after Game 3, as he destroyed the Knicks on their home floor, lighting up Nash, and helping the Nets take a commanding 3-0 series lead.
Harris finished with 30 points and 10 assists controlling the entire game. He did have two superstars on his team though, as Dwyane Wade finished with 25, and LeBron had 19 and 10. Chris Bosh did what he could for his team, but they fell short. Bosh had 35 and 16 in a dominating performance inside and out. Bosh nailed 3 threes, catching the Nets a little off guard, and creating a huge match-up problem for them. Tracy McGrady scored 17 to take some off the pressure of Bosh, and Nash managed 12 points and 14 assists. The game was close until the 4th quarter, when the Nets ran away with it. LeBron was struggling for most of the game, but came alive in the 4th to put the Knicks away. This series, which was dubbed by the New York Media, as the biggest basketball event in New York in 30 years, has been all-Nets so far.
There will be another game in MSG for Game 4, and if necessary this series will return to the Izod Center. But by the way the Nets are playing, New Jersey fans are bringing broom sticks to the next game.
Game 3 Final Score: Nets 109, Knicks 95
Game 4
Domination in New York City, as the Nets pounded the Knicks, and punching a ticket to the NBA Finals.
Dwyane Wade lead all scorers with 23, but the rest of the Nets weren't far behind. Harris was solid once again with 22, and LeBron James completed his first triple-double of this post-season. James gathered 19 points, 13 rebounds, and 11 assists in the blow out. Brook Lopez was also a force in this one, with 11 and 11, and Chris Douglas-Roberts had 10 off the bench. The whole entire Nets squad showed up for this one, wanting to end this series as quickly as possible. Minus Chris Bosh, the Knicks didn't show up at all for this one. Bosh had 21 and 13, and Chandler scored 11. These were the only two Knicks in double digits, as their dream run has ended short of the finals. The electric atmosphere around New York shall cease to exist anymore, as their beloved Knicks have been eliminated. Only a couple miles away however, the Nets are focused on their goal that they created in the pre-season; Win an NBA championship.
The Nets will stay at home to host Game 1 of the NBA Finals, while the Knicks look to replace a retiring Steve Nash and remain as a contender in the East.
Game 4 Final Score: Nets 102, Knicks 82
Series Result: Nets 4, Knicks 0
