      Game of the Week

Spurs defend home court in Finals rematch

Last year, these two teams were phenomenal. This year these two usual juggernauts are struggling to say the least. Both teams are near the bottom of the standings, and can't find the way to the top. They both have the same problem, a problem that can ruin a team for years to come; they're getting old. But before the clock strikes exactly midnight, these teams are trying to squeeze in as many championships as possible before their players start to break down.

The Celtics came slow out of the gate, missing most of their shots, while the Spurs came out gunning. Ginobli started the game with back to back threes and the Spurs quickly built a double-digit lead in the 1st quarter. By the end of the quarter, the Celtics finally found their stride by feeding the ball to Garnett, and Rondo creating off the dribble. Still by the end of the last period it was 28-17, in the Spurs favor.

Pierce was held scoreless in the 1st but started to score in the 2nd, getting to the free throw line and hitting a few step back jumpers. The Celtics were running the fast break to perfection and actually had the game tied with 2 minutes left in the half. But the Spurs answered with a Hill three, and a Mason one to end the half up 6.

In the third, the Spurs kept the Celtics at a distance. Duncan was efficient in the low post, and the Spurs kept stifling the Celtics on defense. Ray Allen was 2-14 from the floor, and couldn't find his touch from beyond the arc. The C's relied on Rondo, while Parker did a good job maintaining him from making plays. At the end of the third, the Spurs had a 10 point lead.

To start the 4th it looked like the Celtics may make a run. 'Sheed started a quick rally by hitting a 3, and Bill Walker had two thunderous dunks. The Spurs were only up 4, when Ginobli hit a big 3 to extend the lead. When the Celtics threatened again, it was once again Ginobli who took over adding another 3 (his 4th of the game), and a lay-up with the foul that clinched the game late in the 4th. The Spurs beat the Celtics by 11 at the AT&T Center, possibly showing that their best basketball is yet to come.

It really isn't all that bad. All I do is set the rotations, and only change them if a severe injury occurs, a player returns from a severe injury, or a trade. Everything else I just say keep the rotation the same. I do some trades which I actually enjoy. The off-season takes about a full day and is kind of tiring but it is always fun being the GM for all the teams, and trying to win a championship for 30 teams.

Thanks for following, I'm just hoping I continue this all the way until the finals before a bug ruins it or something. Luckily I have back-ups, so hopefully we can see the Nets in the finals. And there's like a 95% chance they are in it.

Gasol starting to get angry about contract situation while Lakers can't afford it. Is a trade possible?

With Evans back, Kings are starting to heat up making a run at the top spot out West

Drop two straight to Heat and Bobcats; get back on track though with win, standing at 25-4.

Martin fits well with the team and is lately on fire, while the Jazz are on a roll

The real-life Nets are going to go 7-73 or somewhere around that. See if these Nets go 73-7. That'll be interesting.

thanks for following guys. ronyell i was really interested in your updated Association roster, and trading block thing. If I had the material to do that, I probably would've done that instead of this, although I'm glad I am doing this. I wish 2k10 did what College Hoops 2k8 did and put Associations on 2k share. That way we could do online associations with multiple users, or share projects like yours. i hope thats implemented next year.

                      Pacers outlast Knicks at MSG

Rookie John Wall has received much praise from fans in the NBA watching in awe of his talents. He didn't disappoint today, scoring 33 points and dishing 11 dimes in the 101-92 win over the New York Knicks.

The New York Knicks are nicknamed the 'Knickerbombers' for a reason. That reason is that they love to bomb 3's, and boy did they come out gunning to begin the game as Wilson Chandler netted three 3's in the first quarter. Wall, Ford, and Grander all struggled to score as the Pacers finished with only 12 points in the 1st. At the end of one, the Knicks held a 7 point lead.

In the second, the Pacers had no match-up for Chris Bosh. Bosh would either go by Murphy or hit a 15 foot jumper in his face. By the time the Pacers realized the clear mismatch the Knicks held a 14 point lead halfway through the second quarter. They put Granger on Bosh for the rest of the game who did a better job on him, although Bosh managed 24 in the end. Near the end of the second half John Wall started to heat up a little at one point single handedly sparking a small 6-0 run. Still, the Knicks followed with an array of 3's from Chandler again and now T-Mac. A Chandler three at buzzer extended the lead to 12 at the intermission.

The Knicks came into the third quarter with a comfortable lead, but it ended with them on the wrong side of the scoreboard. John Wall put on a show scoring 17 in the third quarter, grabbing 3 steals for easy flushes on the other end, and heating up from beyond the arc. Then Danny Granger joined in on the fun, and the Granger and Wall attack grabbed the lead at the end of the third quarter, by 1 point.

In the fourth the Knicks continued to play flat, while Wall and Granger took over the game. T-Mac was shut down the entire night, only managing 6 points, and Bosh was invisible in the 4th. Meanwhile, MSG was watching in awe as John Wall torched Kemba Walker (who actually played well) for several slams in the middle of the paint. At the end, the Knicks made a little run to scare the Pacers, but Wall and Murphy played the pick and pop beautifully as Murphy hit the 3 point dagger and steal the victory at Madison Square Garden.

The Pacers and Knicks are both trailing the Nets by several games, but this win gets the Pacers closer to the Knicks who are currently in 2nd place.

Magic nip Nets behind Carter's 33

The Nets run at 72-10? Not looking so likely anymore as they fall again to the second place Magic, who are now only trailing by 4.5 games in the Eastern Conference. The Magic can thanks Vince Carter who scored 15 of the last 17 points for the Magic, en route to the upset.

The first quarter was a tight one, as the Nets played well but had no answer for Dwight Howard defensively. Howard had nine early, dominate Lopez down low. Still at the end of the first the game was knotted at 25.

In the second period, the Magic aerial assault came alive, as Rashard Lewis, Vince Carter, Mickael Pietrus, and Jameer Nelson all hit 3's stretching the Net defense, and making them think twice of doubling Dwight Howard. LeBron and Wade carried the Nets while their role players fell cold, and at halftime the Magic held a 4 point lead.

In the third quarter, Howard once again was a huge factor, this time on the glass and with his put backs. Down by 8, the Nets roared back thanks to LeBron finding a mis-match against Rashard Lewis. He went on an individual 8-0 run to tie the game and go into the final period with the game tied.

The fourth quarter was a crazy, controversial quarter starting with Mickael Pietrus hitting 2 threes in the beginning of the quarter the Magic once again grabbed the lead. Wade joined LeBron in the box score, by exploding at the beginning of the 4th to give him 26 points in the game. The Nets only trailed by 1 half-way through the quarter, when the Nets gave the ball away on four straight possessions, and the Magic took advantage with each turnover ending in a dunk or lay-up making the lead 10. Still, LeBron wouldn't allow the Nets to do down without a fight, finding his way in the lane, finishing or getting to the line often.

The lead was only 5, when Carter and LeBron started scoring non-stop. Carter started it with 2 straight and 1's, but LeBron didn't flinch with a long 3 pointer, and a big dunk. Carter missed a 3, and LeBron grabbed the board took the rebound and went coast to coast for a fastbreak dunk. Carter continued to catch fire, eventually scoring 15 of the Magic's last 17, while LeBron scored the Nets' last 13.

The Nets only trailed 3 with only a minute left, when Devin Harris stole the ball from Nelson, and went coast to coast for a dunk. He slammed it down with authority but when it went in, the ball hit his body and bounced out. Although the dunk should've counted, the Magic continued to play and the officials signaled that it was a missed dunk. The Nets fouled the Magic and they hit one of two free throws, but LeBron hit a crazy floater in the lane. Rashard Lewis iced the game with two free throws and a LeBron desperation three went out, and the Magic pulled off the upset by 4, in a controversial yet fantastic ending.
