CH2k8-- The coaching Legacy of Dan Baker

    Things to Know:
    Minutes per Half: 20
    Mode: MOP
Rosters: Original with Generated names( I will try to name my players but I can't promise I'll be right)
Note: This is my first time playing this game so I expect to be pure garbage at it, the only 2k basketball game I have played before is 2k11 so let's hope it translates a little.

    Coach Baker:
    Offense: C
    Defense: C-
    Teaching: C+
    Scouting: C-
    Charisma: C+
    Disipline: C-

Dan Baker (25), named Head coach of the JackRabbits
(AP)- Not much is known about this Dan Baker character other than he had a very successful career coaching previously..........In football..... Where he turned Eastern Michigan from a cupcake into a heavyweight. JackRabbit fans, let's hope he knows something about basketball and can do the same!

Coach Baker on Coaches: I Think these guys compliment each other well, both are younger guys who can relate with the players and hopefully can work well off of each other.

    Coaching Style:
    Offense: Motion
    Defense: Man-to-Man (Secondary is 2/3)

Coach Baker on his Coaching Style: I run and gun offense in football and I'll teach it here in basketball. I will recruit players that can run the court, they will pressure opposing teams every single play and will force them to play at our tempo not theirs.

          Note: You may now post.

Note2: I may need some advice on recruiting as I am a bit confused on it so far, is the goal to use all your points every week? Should I focus on only a few players or spread my points out? Should I offer Scholarships early? Any answeres would be appreciated.

              11/17

Went to a track meet and a basketball game broke out!
              Montana (1-1) @ SD State (0-0)

(AP)- ALford scored the first basket of coach Baker's coaching career. During the first half a massive blow to the Jacks lineup, Jari Zuzak goes down with a twisted ankle, luckily for the Jacks, he will be back in a few days. At halftime the score was Montana 57, SD ST 53. In the second half the Jacks tied the game up three different times and even took the lead by 5 later in the game but failed to hold the lead late and gave in to the temptation to give it up.

              Final Score
              Montana 116
              SD State 105

              J. Zuzak 9 Min, 6Pts, 1 REB, 3/9FG, 0/2 3PT
              V. Smith 25 Min, 26Pts, 1 REB, 3Ast, 1St, 9/19FG, 4/8 3PT, 4/4FT
              T. Klinloch 16Min, 6Pts, 4REB, 1AST, 2/3FG, 0/1 3PT, 1/1FT
              S. Dunnington 24Min, 16Pts, 6AST, 3STL, 8/13FG
              P. Alford 30Min, 6Pts, 9REB, 2AST, 2STL, 1BLk, 2/7FG, 2/2FT
              ------------------------
              D. Goode 27Min, 12PTs, 2REB, 10AST, 3STL, 5/13FG, 2/5 3PT
              O. Whitworth 14Min, 7Pts, 2 REB, 3AST, 3STL, 3/6FG, 1/2 3PT
              G. Corner 13Min, 6PTs, 1 REB, 2/5FG, 1/2 3PT
              M. Diarra 19Min, 11Pts, 8REB, 2AST, 5/9FG, 1/2 FT
              L. Sheppard 9 Min, 6Pts, 2REB, 2AST, 2/6FG, 2/5 3PT
              B. Montrimas 7Min, 5PTs, 2Stl, 2/6FG, 1/4 3PT
              D. Winans 7Min, 3REB, 2AST, 1STL, 0/2FG, 0/1 3PT

Coaches Corner: I thought the guys played well today, the game really came down to a 4 point game without those fouls at the end. We may have to slow the game play down just a tad so we get some better looks as we shot just 43/97 from the field and had 11 Turnovers as a team. A few things that really excite me though are that we out rebounded them, we had 31 Assists, which means we have guys buying into the program and willing to give the ball up to an open teammate and we had 15 steals and forced 17 turnovers from our pressure defense. There are things that need to be improved, noteably our paint defense as we were allowing far too many points in the paint. I have faith in these guys!

Coaches Corner: Well we fought hard here, after we got down they stayed in it. I like the effort the guys are giving every play out there, we will figure out the right adjustments to make and play some better defense because I can tell you we are close. If that means going away from such a fast paced game style then we will do that sometimes but we are going to continue to make them fight for every inch on the court.

Coaches Corner: Well we squandered yet another lead late. I still believe in my guys. I think our biggest problem is we do not drive to the hoop enough, we are taking far too many three point shots and that is leading to our opponents getting fastbreaks off the misses. To our fans: We will win one soon......I hope

Jacks get first win under Dan Baker vs Vandals.

(AP)- What looked like a route at halftime turned into a competetive game, and not because the Jacks were shooting lights out, in fact they struggled to make the majority of their shots down the stretch; the reason this turned into a game is the Vandals went 7 minutes without a single field goal in the 2nd half and the Jacks took advantage by holding the ball so the Vandals couldn't get many shots that they wanted.

When we caught up to coach Baker he was not as excited as we had hoped for. "This game was ugly, nothing was good about it, we had a few good plays there at the end but we played horrible in both halfs. We ended up with the win and that is what matters but we can't expect every team to go seven plus minutes without making a shot against us. We will go back to the drawing board and continue trying to find a game pace that works for us and keeps our opponents on thier toes."

                              Jacks suffer yet another loss!

(AP)- Some are beginning to question whether coach Baker has it in him to actually turn this team into a force down the road or not. Many are already calling for him to be fired as his team continues to struggle. Today they lost by 10 to a much faster UW-Green Bay team who was able to out run and gun the Jacks.

When we caught up with coach Baker he had this to say, "They were faster and they wanted it more than us today, we have a lot of young guys out their getting a lot of minutes and we are folding under pressure a little bit. The only way to fix that is to go out there and keep playing, sooner or later someone will make some key shots down the stretch to take advantage of an opponent's mistakes."
