Re: CH2k8-- The coaching Legacy of Dan Baker

      The Dearly Departed Jacks
Senior--Power Forward--Spanky Dunnington--Dunnington was a great player, we ended up moving himto the bench but he was able to come off the bench and provide a huge boost until he got hurt late in the year.
      Draft Buzz: Not a chance

Senior--Power Forward--Martin Diarra--Diarra was our starting center and while he had the size and talent to succeed in the Summitt he lacked the girth against a team like the Memphis Tigers.
      Draft Buzz: Not a chance

Senior--Point Guard--Louis Sheppard--Became our 7th man off the bench and was able to lead the second team when they were out on the floor. Took the role of being a backup like a true team player.
      Draft Buzz: Not a chance

Senior--Power Forward--Porter Alford--Really the biggest threat we had every game, ya Smith scored the points but Alford made teams focus at least two defenders on him all year. Team really struggled as soon as he went down in the Memphis game, will be missed the most out of the group.
      Draft Buzz: Undrafted

Dang sorry to see Memphis do that to you... Congrats on making it to the tourney though that is a success within itself.

On another note... Is there ANY legacy on here where Vandy wins at least ONE tournament game?? Too realistic......

Haha vandy going out like that and Kansas too was pretty funny to me. Too realistic.

Congrats on having a very successful season, especially with Smith. It sucks getting dumped out of the tourney with so many key contributors injured, but at least you have others you can count on.

I have a feeling they will be a lot better this year, as they had 3 of the 5 freshman of the conference last year. Never know though as we are both young teams which might make some interesting games.

Congrats on having a very successful season, especially with Smith. It sucks getting dumped out of the tourney with so many key contributors injured, but at least you have others you can count on.

                                Comeback kids can't strike again!

(AP) - Vandrell Smith and Jamarr Gunn both tried to put the team on their backs and make another dramatic comeback against the #9 Texas Longhorns. The game was Texas' to lose from the start but with about 5 minutes to go in the game the Jacks made a run to knock it to a 5 point game. It looked like the Jacks might be able to pull it off but the team was gassed and it showed as the Longhorns extended the lead to 10 to end the game.

Coaches Corner: Gunn was in foul trouble early and didn't even take a shot until midway through the 2nd half. I'm excited to watch that kid the rest of the year. Smith had an off night from deep but still was carrying the team along with some key help. In the end they just had more horses than us. Nothing to be ashamed about.

Up Next: Jacks go to the Losers bracket and face the SMU Mustangs.
