Yeah, it's been a tough stretch, but I think we can turn things around in conference play.

We don't have Creighton in the OVC, thankfully. They are in the Missouri Valley.

I always get the Ohio Valley and the Missouri Valley mixed up.

I've created my own playbook so far. I haven't drawn up any plays yet, though. The play designer looks a bit complicated.

Terry Blue Signs With Morehead State

Morehead, KY - With three scholarships to offer for the 2008 recruiting class, Coach Bailey made his first move this week as he signed three-star prospect Terry Blue during the in-season recruiting period. Blue is a 6'2" guard out of Columbus, OH. He is a JUCO Freshman and will enter Morehead State as a sophomore next fall.

It is quite possible that he could start immediately, depending on the progression of Cecil Brown.

In many ways, Blue appears to be a jack of all trades and a master of none. He is decent in all areas of the game, but does not seem to excel in any one particular area.

"We like what he brings to the table," remarked Coach Frizzell about Blue. "Obviously, point guard is a big need we need to fill before next season with Nikola's [Stojakavic] departure, so to sign a player of Terry's Caliber is huge for us."

              1. Terry Blue 6'2 178 (Columbus, OH - NR overall, NR PG) 3* JUCO FR

With two scholarships left to give out, Coach Frizzell looks to turn elsewhere, including overseas, to fill the last two roster spots. "There isn't a lot of talent in Kentucky, so Coach Frizzell may find himself having to recruit far and wide if he wants to bring in good talent to Morehead State," explained 2Ksports.com analyst Lee Williamson.

According to Williamson, Frizzell's new list includes:

              1. Luol Plummer 7'0 223 (Tulsa, OK - NR overall, NR C) 3* JUCO SO
              2. Russell McGowen 6'10 249 (Fargo, ND - NR overall, NR C) 3* JUCO FR
              3. Kyle Bruce 6'7 222 (Australia - NR overall, NR SF) 3*
              4. Reed Asseo 6'9 201 (Kettering, OH - NR overall, NR C) 2*
              5. Daniel Iti 6'10 220 (New Zealand - NR overall, NR C) 2*

                Dunn Center
                Clarksville, TN
                December 6th, 2007

Todd Babington hit eight three-pointers and 11 shots overall as the senior guard scored 30 points and grabbed three boards to lead his Austin Peay Governors (5-3, 2-0) to their second consecutive victory as they won 75-60 over the Morehead State Eagles (1-5, 0-1).

It was also the Eagles' fourth-straight loss and drops them to 0-5 in road games.

"We're really struggling right now," explained Coach Frizzell. "We have another tough game against Murray State coming up in a couple days before we finally get a couple home games next week against Tennessee-Martin and Eastern Illinois."

The Eagles only trailed 28-26 at halftime, but Austin Peay's offense came alive during the second half as they scored 47 in the second half.

T.J. Clark led the Eagles with 11 points. Les Simmons added 10 points, four rebounds, and two blocks while Kenneth Faried added eight points, eight boards, and three steals.

The Eagles will hit the road again in two days to face off against the Murray State Racers.

                    Nope.

I know VandyRedskins30 has created some plays for his coaching legacy. He may have some useful tips.

I'd like to use it sometime, eventually, but I'd hate to waste an hour using the seemingly cumbersome interface only to design a play that is entirely useless.

Ouch, such efficient shooting from Babington. He almost outscored your starting five single-handedly.

Congrats on signing the first of many recruits in this legacy. What qualities do you have set as your recruiting preferences?

My recruiting preferences are: 1.) Shooting, 2.) Size.

I am excited about Blue, though it looks like I will probably have to settle for 2* recruits for my final two signees, unless I can steal one at the end. Maybe I can find a diamond in the rough.

                          December 8th, 2007

The Murray State Racers (3-3, 1-1) won their first OVC game of the year as they outlasted the Morehead State Eagles (1-6, 0-2) 66-50. Morehead State kept pace throughout the first half, but the Racers truly raced away in the second half, leaving Morehead State's offense stuck in the mud.

Tony Easley led the Racers with a double-double, tallying 10 points and 11 boards. Junior guard Tyler Holloway also added 10 points, four assists, and five steals (career-high).

The Racers' defense frustrated the Morehead State offense all night long. The Racers tallied 14 steals as a team against the Eagles. In addition, the Eagles shot 30% from the floor and four-for-nine from the charity stripe. It was clear that it was going to be a long night.

John Lamb continued his spectacular play as of late as the freshman guard hit three treys for 11 points from off the bench. Maze Stallworth also came off the bench to contribute nine points and four boards while T.J. Clark only managed 10 points on 16 shot attempts.

Morehead State has a week-and-a-half off before hosting Tennessee-Martin on December 17th.

Dang that's a tough loss for ya. It's always frustrating when you get one guy who keeps shooting and he just can't seem to hit.

Yeah, and with coach mode, the only way to make them stop shooting is to substitute them out.

The road gets easier from here (sans Louisville), so we'll see if we can finally string together some wins.

                                December 17th, 2007

Morehead State (2-6, 1-2) improved its home record to 2-0 this evening (away record is 0-6) as the Eagles edged Tennessee-Martin (1-6, 0-2) by a final score of 62-57.

The Skyhawks led by as many as 10 points in the first half and led 33-28 at the halftime break. The Morehead State Eagles came out of the locker room as a different team, it seemed, as they looked much more polished at both ends of the floor.

One reason why was the exploits of T.J. Clark. The freshman shooting guard lit up the net this evening as he hit five three-pointers and shot seven-of-13 from the field for 23 points to lead all scorers. He hit several key treys down the stretch that ensured the Eagles the victory.

Kenneth Faried also added 12 points while Les Simmons almost got a double-double with nine points and 10 boards. Maze Stallworth and John Lamb each added eight points from off the bench.

Gerald Robinson led the Skyhawks in scoring and rebounding as he ended with 11 points and seven boards.

Morehead State will host Eastern Illinois on Wednesday as they look to keep their unblemished record at home alive.
