Jazz Can't Pull It Out In Boston, Fall To 3-1

    November 5, 2014

    Boston -
Our beloved Utah Jazz have gotten off to a great to start to the 2014-2015 campaign, but it appears we have finally hit a speed bump, as the Jazz lose in Boston 99 to 93. Jared Sullinger was a menace tonight, going for 20 points and 19 rebounds in just 27 minutes. Rajon Rondo had 19 points and 11 assists as well.

Utah got a big game out of Gordon Hayward, who went for 22 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists. Derrick Favors was one rebound away from his 4th straight double-double, as he finished with 14 and 9. The Enes Kanter Express finally slowed down a bit, as he went for just 11 points and 6 boards.

The Jazz continue their Eastern Conference road trip with a game in Brooklyn tomorrow night, followed by Indiana on the 8th, and Philadelphia on the 9th.

Sucks to see you lose that game, but I guess you were due for a down game at some point. Still really liking the balanced scoring between the top six. Literally every guy is a threat to score. Love that. Beat down New Jersey--er, Brooklyn!

New sliders for the Boston game? If so, it looks like the scoring was affected like you had hoped, although Boston is a pretty good defensive team, too.

It likes like Sullinger was an animal! A near 20 and 20.

It would also be interesting to know what your POE were set to against the Celtics, since it looks like they took a ton of shots (38!) with Rondo and Bradley.

Still, 3-1 is a good start...would doggone near guarantee you a playoff berth if you played in the East!

It helps having 5 former lottery picks and the #1 overall pick as the top six on my team! Haha.

I actually didn't get the chance to put the sliders in for the Celtics game. I think Sully and Humphries were just good enough on D to keep us out of the paint a bit.

Pretty sure my POE were just to crash the boards offensively, run in transition, and play physical. I laid off Rondo a bit, making him hit a few jumpers, and Bradley was getting some good looks off drive and kicks.

Jazz Survive Nets, Get 4th Win of Season

              November 6, 2014

              Brooklyn -
Despite 23 points and 9 rebounds from Brook Lopez, the Utah Jazz managed to snag away a victory from the Nets in Brooklyn. Gordon Hayward flirted with a triple-double, as he finished with 17 points, 7 boards, and 7 assists. Enes Kanter had his 3rd game with 25 or more points this season, as he finished with 27.

Though the Jazz were outrebounded and committed more turnovers than the Nets, it was their hot shooting from the field and from three-point land that got them the W. Utah takes on the Pacers in Indianapolis in two days.

Dang, awesome start to the season. You've got such a young, potential-filled core. It will be interesting to see how you manage them moving forward, financially.

George, Pacers Hand Jazz 2nd Loss of Season

                    April 24, 2014

                    Indianapolis -
Paul George scored more than 24 points for the 5th time in 5 games this season, as he finished with 27 to knock off the Jazz. George is having an MVP-like season thus far, as he's averaging 30.0 PPG, 8.4 RPG, 4.8 APG, 1.4 SPG, and 1.0 BPG. He had an astounding performance on the 2nd, as he scored a season high 42 points, along with 12 rebounds, 10 assists, 3 steals, and a block.

For Utah, it was rookie Andrew Wiggins who was the leading scorer on the team. Wiggins finished with 19 points off of the bench with 8 of 18 shooting from the field. Derrick Favors had a double-double with 16 points and 11 boards, which 7 of the boards came in the 1st quarter.

The Jazz suffer just their second loss of the season and fall to 4-2. They finish out the 4-game road trip with a game against Jabari Parker and the 76ers tomorrow night.

                      Burks.jpg

Jazz, Burks Can't Reach Contract Extension

Alec Burks of the Utah Jazz is set to be a restricted free agent next summer, and with the Jazz laying big money down on Enes Kanter, Gordon Hayward, and Derrick Favors, Burks might be the odd man out. The Jazz likely offered Burks something lower than what he wanted, as they are trying to play their money tight at the moment, since they still need to sign Trey Burke and Andrew Wiggins when they get out of their rookie deals.

Burks had a break-out season last year, averaging 17.4 PPG, along with 4.2 RPG and 3.8 APG. This season, Burks is getting less looks and less minutes, as he's averaging just 12.4 PPG, 2.6 RPG and 2.1 APG. He has, however increased his shooting percentages across the board this season, which is a great sign.

With Burks slated to become a restricted free agent this summer, it wouldn't be entire out of the question to see Burks traded with Wiggins waiting in the wings.

Jazz Suffer 2nd Straight Loss in Loss Against Sixers

                        November 9, 2014

                        Philadelphia -
Jabari Parker was sensational for the Sixers, as he scored 28 points to lead all players in the game. The Jazz struggled offensively, as they shot just 37% from the field, and 26% from three. Alec Burks scored a season-high 17 points and was just one of three Jazz players that was in double-figures for scoring. The Sixers were without sixth-man Michael Carter-Williams, who is nursing a bruised tailbone.

The Jazz finally return home, and will begin a three-game home stand with a game against the Timberwolves on Tuesday.
