Welcome to the Recruits Shaping the Future series, here I'll follow a list of basketblal prospects including Dontae Brown, Kane Herren, Tuomas Kousa, Nuka Seyde, Damon Wright, Harry Fredhman, Cole Campbell, and Stone Harper. Currently, we're in the college basketball off-season and tons of prep prospects are making their college decisions. Below I'll give some insight on how the selected players are doing...
      Dontae' Brown – Oregon

The Ducks blew out Loyola Marymount in their first game of the season. Dontae' Brown established a sixth man role behind Dwayne Benjamin yet played 28 minutes and scored 8 points and a phenomenal total of 13 rebounds. He complained about issues with his wrist afterwards, trainers checked it out and noted it was a sprain but he'd be able to continue to play.

      Kane Herren – Undecided

Herren's high school basketball team is back in full affect. The Fall River Knights won their first game against Bishop Connolly and Kane Herren played a big role, scoring 19 points with 8 assists. He says the same schools are continuing to pursue him and he says he'd probably like to go the academic route which is why Harvard tops his list.

      Tuomas Kousa - Undecided

Tuomas Kousa reported on Twitter that he's finally gotten interests from a college which happens to be the Big East's Rutgers program.

      Nuka Seyde – Temple

Nuka's height appears to have limited him on the college level, the forward did not register a single minute against Coppin State despite the team winning 90-60.

      Damon Wright – Rutgers

Damon Wright played well in the 70-57 win against Monmouth, the guard had 8 points and 3 assists. He took it to Twitter after the game and stated he felt right at home and that he hoped to guide Rutgers to more wins.

      Harry Fredman – Duke

The number one recruit didn't disappoint in Duke's 96-61 win over Wofford. Harry Fredman had 13 points and 6 rebounds. He still projects as top pick in the upcoming NBA draft.

      Cole Campbell – Notre Dame

Cole played well with a very well in his season debut, scoring 14 points for the Fighting Irish as they surpassed Saint Frances in a 74-64 victory. Cole also played well on defense, claiming 3 steals.

      Stone Harper - Undecided

Stanford's schedule wasted no time, they're first opponent was #24 Michigan State. The team used home court advantage to knock off the visiting Spartans and Stone Harper made his debut in the starting five. The guard out of Reno had 7 points, 4 rebounds, and shot 3-7 from the field. His teammate Chasson Randle would be the difference maker, going for 38 points with 6 three pointers.

      The bolded is a fix.

So it's looking like the poll results favor the games being presented in a storyline or both recap & the storyline so what I did was make a Dynasty Page over at DynastyNation that'll allow you to keep up statistically on how the team is doing.

          Check it out @ http://www.dynastynation.operationsp...0&sport=ncaabb

Northern Colorado Wraps up Non-Conference Play

                12/29/2015

Greeley, Colo - The Bears have just ended their non-conference section of the schedule going with a record of 4-7. Coach Hill remarks that it was “full of its ups and downs” but he feels they’ll have a good shot at going all the way in the conference tournament. Let’s look back at our Bears matchups as we enter the New Year.

                _________________________

                In Game 1: @ TCU
TCU simply outmatched N Colorado with their towering height as well as their aggressive style of play which led to many easy buckets as well as trips to the charity stripe. Five of their players punched in double digit scoring totals.

                Final Score: 64-88

                Key Players
Kendall Jenkins made his college debut and scored 15 points, grabbed 13 rebounds, and had 3 steals along with Tevin Svichovec who also had 15 points with 3 assists.
Tim Huskinsson contributed with 14 points while Brendan Keane put up 8 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 blocks.

TCU five double-digit scorers included Chauncey Collins (10), Kenrich Williams (12), Devonte Abron (16), Karviar Shepherd (11), and Michael Williams’s 10 coming off the bench.

                _________________________

In Game 2: vs. Long Beach State
This game provided a lot of excitement as the students and fans of UNC got their first in person look at the team. The game didn’t disappoint as the Bears took off with a 47-37 lead going into the second half, the visiting 49ers however stepped their game up and gave Northern Colorado a run for their money.

                Final Score: 86-80

                Key Players

Tevin Svihovec had a career night as he drained 30 points [11-24 FG, 5-13 3PT], the junior hit plenty of big shots down the stretch for the Bears… Kendall Jenkins wasn’t too far from his teammate; he had a stellar double-double performance consisting of 27 points and 14 rebounds making this his second straight double-double in his first two games. Jordan Wilson had 12 points and 6 assists.

The 49ers had Nick Faust drop an efficient 23 points [7-11 FG] and Tyler Lamb finished with 19 but struggled from the field.

                _________________________

                In Game 3: vs Nevada
After the Bears collected their first win of the season they continued their home schedule and hosted Nevada. To sum it up, the game was a disaster for UNC. The Bears struggled to keep up with Nevada’s high paced offense and showcased very poor body language in the second half when they were outscored 19-41.

                Final Score: 52-87

                Key Players:
Tevin Svihovec seems to have really stepped up his game. The guard recorded yet another +20 points game with 22 points and six three point shots. Kendall Jenkins had 17 points and 15 rebounds.

For Nevada, five players scored in double digits as they shot just under 57 percent from the field and 50% from downtown.

                _________________________

In Game 4: @ Louisiana Tech
Yet another blowout loss and the Bear’s defense is simply summiting. They’ve yet again allowed five opponents to score more than ten points and easily walk out with the win. UNC committed 17 turnovers and on top of that only shot 36%.

                Final Score: 56-77

                Key Players:
You guessed it, Kendall Jenkins tailed another double-double as he continues to show promise for the program much in need. Jenkins had 21 points, 13 rebounds, and 3 blocks but on the downside had 5 turnovers en route.

Louisiana Tech got great production from all its players but were led by Raheem Appleby who continued to pour points on the defense all night, the senior had 24 points to continue his hot hand he’s displayed thus far in the season.

                _________________________

In Game 5: @ Cal Poly
Both teams came into this game struggling but once again our Bears fell in a 69-62 loss against the hosting Cal Poly. The Mustangs played smart basketball and forced the Bears into many turnovers and got to the line plenty of times on offense giving them the upper hand when the final seconds ticked away.

                Final Score: 62-69

                Key Players

Tim Huskinsson had the team high with 13 point before fouling out the ball game. Tevin Svihovec was cold with 10 points, shooting 4-10 and going 0-5 from beyond the arc.

Kendall Jenkins had 15 rebounds but only 4 points as he had despairs from the field (2-12 FG)

Cal Poly’s David Nwaba dialed in 18 points and was close to a double-double with 8 rebounds. Center Brian Bennett played well with 14 points, 9 rebounds, plus 4 assists while guard Markel Leonard added his season high of 14 points.

                _________________________

In Game 6: @ Jackson State
Northern Colorado got back to winning ways as they got 19 point win over the visiting Jackson State. JSU shot the ball very poorly giving UNC a walk in the park win.

                Final Score: 66-47

                Key Players:
Kendall Jenkins had 18 points and 16 rebounds. Brenden Keane scored a season high 16 points and recorded a double-double with 11 rebounds.

For JSU only junior Derell Taylor scored in double digits with 15 points on 6-7 shooting.

                _________________________

In Game 7: vs Loyola Marymount
UNC got a win then got blown out once again. The Bears looks well in the first half as they came out the locker room with a 3 point lead only for it to be snatched as the visiting Lions wrecked them on offense.

                Final Score: 53-73

                Key Players:
Jenkins still uptight, getting 15 points and 10 rebounds joined by Tim Huskisson’s 10 points.

                _________________________

In Game 8: @ Boise State
This win proved to be a big one for Northern Colorado as they beat a Boise State team led by Anthony Drmic, one of the nation’s top scorers. The game remained close as neither team was able to pull away with a huge lead until the Bears did it in the second half of play, big time.

                Final Score: 82-64

                Key Players

Kendall Jenkins snapped the double-double streak with 14 points, 8 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2 blocks. Tevin Svihovec scored 13 points and offered 5 assists. The bench performed well with Cody McDavis leading the way with 11 points and 4 rebounds. Greg Tucker had 10 and Corey Spence dropped in 9.

Anthony Drmic as expected had big numbers for his squad; dropping 23 points but doing it in a 33% shooting showcase (2-12 3PT).

                _________________________

In Game 9: @ Colorado State
Northern Colorado entered this in-state rivalry matchup against a team whose lineup was filled with nothing but seniors. Experienced players is what they knew they had on the plate and while they were able to keep it close for the majority of the game, the Rams pulled out an eight point win at home.

                Final Score: 62-70

                Key Players

Tevin Svihovec had 13 points on 4-7 shooting but Tim Huskisson lead to team with 15 which was turned in at shooting percentages just over the thirty mark. Kendall Jenkins had 10 points but struggled against the unity of Colorado State, finishing with a devastating 6 turnovers.

Colorado State had many of its players finish with good stat lines, Daniel Bejarno led the way with 17 points. JJ Avila [leading scorer] had 12 points and 11 rebounds and Dantiel Daniels put in 12 points from the bench.

                _________________________

                In Game 10: @ Stanford
UNC got their first taste of Pac-10 basketball as they took on Stanford, only there was a plot twist; Stanford had gotten hit by the injury bug HARD! Their leading scorer Chasson Randle was out with an injury as well as starting guard and forward; Stone Harper and Earl Crumbley. With that being said the Bears were basically playing against Stanford’s second team players and in result were able to upset the struggling 4-5 Stanford Cardinals.

B.J. Hill would also bring out his brand new lineup this game with the edition of Cody McDavis starting at power forward while Kendall Jenkins slid to the 3 and Jordan Wilson benched [Wilson would go on to play only 6 minutes this game].

                Key Score: 69-52

                Key Players:
Tim Huskisson had a big game as he got his UNC career high 21 points as the lane was open all game for him which led to his 8-10 shooting that came with no ease [majority layups]. Kendall Jenkins enjoyed his newly found small forward position and drained 14 points with 9 rebounds. Cody McDavis came in the starting five and stuffed the stat-sheet with 8 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, and both 2 blocks and 2 steals.

Stanford got 11 points from both Rosco Allen and Reid Travis but were dawned by freshman Colt Ma who couldn’t seem to realize his shot was not falling (3-19 FG, 1-12 3PT). Northern Colorado started to sag off the guard and began to get easy defensive stops.

                _________________________

In Game 11: @ Washington State
A week after Pac-10 competetion against Stanford the Bears were right back at it against Washington State. Things were bright for Northern Colorado as they got off to a 10-0 start within the opening minutes but Washington State fought all the way back to trail only by 2 at the start of the second half. Their leading scorer Davonte Lacey would be the difference maker as he kept his team alive at home.

This game would come down to a 67-66 lead with Northern Colorado ahead but with 13 second remaining B.J. Hill calls what happened “a freshman move”. Kendall Jenkins was tagged with a reaching foul after an aggressive inbound press that sent Lacey to the line where he’d hit both free throws and put his team up with a 68-67 lead. With no timeouts left, the Bears pushed the ball up the floor and struggled to settle on a shot before the ball landed in the hands of Tevin Svihovec who’d been quiet all game, Tevin heaved it from three point land and it clanked off the rim.

                Final Score: 67-68

                Key Players

Despite the foul, Kendall Jenkins played well as he got his first double-double since the Loyola Marymount game; Jenkins totaled 18 points and 14 rebounds. Tim Huskisson put up 11 points along with Brenden Keane’s 11 and 6 rebounds.

Kendall Jenkins's Pictures Painting a Thousand Words

                      Dec. 30, 2015 // By Zach Greg

                      1. Kendall described the Stanford roster after the game and explained, "For a bunch of academic nerds, they talk a bunch of [explicit]. The kid was mad. To rub in the blow out win, Kendall posted on Instagram later that night a photo with a Stanford cheerleader and captioned it

Blew out Stanford, might as well take their girls too #(Explicit)
                      2. In this picture Kendall shows serious agony after his team dropped another loss. That face on Kendall has been common, he doesn't like to lose. Is he happy at Northern Colorado?

                      3. This picture was captured after the Bear's Louisiana Tech loss. It's displayed as Kendall Jenkins pointing at sophomore guard Jordan Wilson while sharing words. We don't know what was said between the two but I can only assume it wasn't good.

                      5. Kendall is shown checking into the game in this picture. The freshman has been on and off the court due to early foul trouble that he's been suffering from lately. Jenkins is averaging about three fouls a game. His face while he's on the bench clearly shows that's not his favorite destination; foul trouble or not.

                      6. Jenkins drained a three at around the NBA line. He says he didn't shoot a lot of threes in high school but he's looking to make that a good part of his game at this level.

                      7. Scared you right? After a layup attempt sent Kendall flying [no foul was called] he was on the ground for at least eight seconds before stumbling down the floor. N Colorado would get a timeout and Kendall let B.J. Hill know he was alright. Whew! Losing this kid is NOT what UNC needs right now.

                      8. Despite it all, Jenkins is a beast for Northern Colorado! He's averaging a double-double right now and going into conference play he's got no signs of slowing down. But if it's one thing we know Kendall doesn't like it's losing! His team isn't doing it on the consistent basis which can bring up the question if he even still wants to there after this season, besides he wants to get to the NBA, that's not happening until another three years are invested.

                      9. These two teams were one of the very few colleges that offered Kendall a scholarship, they're now both in the ESPN AP Top 25, Kendall maybe regretting his little decision?

This is so amazing and realistic. I feel like I can immerse myself with this character as if he was real. Great job with the magazines, stats, and storyline. I really like what you're doing, keep it up!

January 3rd, 2016 - Big Sky? More like High School

College basketball was putting loads of stress on Kendall as he tried to juggle his school work and athletics all at the same time. He quickly realized it was much difficult than high school but at the same time Kendall didn’t even care about his grades in high school.

He was much more focused here at Northern Colorado because he’d finally learned the ‘what if’ theory. He knew he was going to make the league but if he didn’t he needed to have a solid career available to back him up or he’d be his worst fear; a failure.

Luckily things had started to tone down in the unlucky part of Kendall; considerably the situation with Ace and the Rollerz but what Kendall didn’t know was that they’d make their way back in his life soon…

In the meantime he was getting extremely popular on campus, more than ever. Everybody loved him, especially the girls. He’d started heavily talking to Charlie after she and Lonnie broke up about a month ago but he didn’t want to push it too far because he had more to focus on. That focus was all towards the court, he turned many friends wanting to hang out and party all so he could really start to tune in to the game because his team was garbage; that’s how Kendall thought of it.

They were getting blown out more than anything and he was sick of it. He was currently the only difference maker on the team and maybe the occasional performance of Tim or Tevin helped but besides them it was all up to Kendall to take this team anywhere. He was simply on a mission.

                            ---Film Session---

“I want to say Portland State is a bad team and that we can beat them easily tomorrow,” B.J. Hill looks around at all his players after they wrapped up with film. “… But we’re not the greatest team either, right?”

Everybody looks at him with a quivered expression and he picks up from there as if he anticipated it.

“Exactly, we have to understand that we are not a bad team! For God’s sake we almost swept both Pac-10 teams on our schedule! Why are we playing like **** against worse competition? I don’t get it? Just do what we do in practice then games just like that Stanford win will happen every time. We just got to put the pieces together, I believe we’re the best team in this conference, let’s show it.”

                            ---Game Time---

Kendall pre-game ritual always was him throwing down an ridiculous over-achieving dunk just to brag in front of the opponent. He did exactly that when the team took the floor against Portland State; he took off from the short corner and hit the crowd with a tomahawk slam that had them going wild and happy to see their favorite player play in the first home game since November 29th against Loyola Marymount.

When he jogged over to the rebounding line one of Portland State’s players shared some words with Kendall after witnessing the dunk. He was just a little shorter than him but outweighed him by at least fifty pounds.

“Yeah you that dude I’m suppose to be guarding out here tonight,” he checks Kendall out, looking from head to toe. “Good luck trying that **** on us, specifically me, I’ll send your little skinny *** into the stands.”

Kendall looked at him while nodding his head, “I’mma let my game do my talking.”

A year ago he probably would’ve ended up fighting a kid if he said that to him. He’d matured a little over the course of his time on campus, not fully but definitely surely.

“Good luck with that make believe bull****, all I know is you and you’re team is getting this work.” He glances back over to the layup line and gets a pass before finishing with a eurostep layup then looking back over at Kendall while shaking his head up and down.

The first score of the ball game belonged to Kendall on a basket cut pass from Cody, Kendall caught it and went up for the layup and was smacked right in face by #31, the same guy talking the smack before the game [Dorian Cason]. The refs called nothing and Kendall got back on defense while Portland pushed the ball quickly, they’re point guard beat all its teammates down the floor.

Their offense started off poorly but the kid Coach stressed the most #24 [Dashuan Wiggins] was already looking good, he’d hit two threes very quickly to get his team to keep up with the Bears who’d gotten off to a quick 6-0 start. Jenkins was right about letting his game talk, the non-conference schedule was great challenge because these kids were all pretty much either his size or smaller and he used that was as a huge advantage.

On offense Dorian used the Bear’s 2-3 zone defense to shoot a three that hit nothing but net as Kendall came late with the close out.

“Better not leave me open.” He stared down Kendall as he jogged back down on defense.

Within 5 minutes Kendall already had 12 points and it was coming easier than easy. If anything he should’ve been the one talking garbage as that was Dorian’s first basket.

A couple plays later Kendall didn’t know why but he found himself seated on the bench, coach cleared it up when he took a seat, a little buzzed, “You’re okay, just want to rest you for a minute. I see that kid is talking to you, don’t let him get in your head.”

He remained on the bench for just about another minute and then returned to the action along with Chase with the score favoring them, 21-17.

“Glad your back, lil’ bitch.” Dorian said while smirking at him.

Kendall tried to restrain himself from bursting.

He got set up in the zone press and captured a steal from an outlet pass intended for #12; he looked to slam but the defense recovered too quickly. Instead he gave it to Jordan who reset the offense but the ball was dropped right back in the hands of Kendall. He noticed a mismatch with their point guard on him and took him straight to the basket and drew contact with the bucket.

“AND ONE!!!” Kendall yells at the top of his lungs and is accompanied by Chase who engages in their unique elbow shake. The crowd was now firing on all cylinders as Kendall stepped up at the line. The free throw went flying off the left side of the rim but Chase got the rebound and put it right back in the hoop plus another whistle! It was now a manifest for Northern Colorado as they led 28-17 with 10 minutes remaining in the first half.

The Bears rode that lead and hit the locker room dominating the game with the score 46-37. Kendall led the way with 18 points and was destine to finish with a college career high [27 against Long Beach State]. Only issue was Tim was having a very tough time containing Deshaun Wiggins who wasn’t too far behind Kendall’s 18, he had 17 and it seemed he could single handedly bring his team back if he needed to.

That second half didn’t open up too well for Kendall, Portland State came out much more aggressive on him and Dorian still wouldn’t shut up. He ended up getting the best of him.

“You can’t shoot!” He yelled out to Kendall after he missed his second three attempt of the half. “Stick to the layups! That’s all you can do!”

Kendall couldn’t take it anymore, “Shut the **** up!” He exclaimed and jogged over and shoved him out to the sideline.

The refs reacted quickly and T’d him up and Coach pulled him from the game right on the spot.

“I told you that was going to happen, now calm down!” Coach Hill says and looks back into the game. Right when he turned around Dorian was blocking Cody’s putback attempt.

“We want Kendall back!” The fans chanted as he sat on the bench. “We want Kendall back!”

Coach ignored them and continued to sit Kendall as the team led 67-52, all the bench players where out except Tim and Tevin. The game was now nothing but a chucking war as both teams continued to launch threes. Neither got much of a reward but it helped Northern Colorado keep their lead pretty easily. Kendall finally got back in at the around the seven minute mark and made both some good plays and some bad which got him right back on the bench. The team did well and made a huge statement in their first conference game as they won it by 25 points, 89-64.

“With a double-double performance of 25 points and 13 rebounds, the player of the game award goes out to Kendall Jenkins!”

Kendall lined up in front of his team and walked to shake hands with the opponents, when he came across Dorian he got no apology, Kendall very noticeable laughed in his face for a second and continued shaking hands with the others. Wasn't much of a good move when you considered the media but Kendall felt he deserved it.

The Recruits Shaping the Future: Volume 3
                              January, 2016

Welcome to the Recruits Shaping the Future series, here I'll follow a list of basketball prospects including Dontae Brown, Kane Herren, Tuomas Kousa, Nuka Seyde, Damon Wright, Harry Fredhman, Cole Campbell, and Stone Harper. Currently, we're in the college basketball off-season and tons of prep prospects are making their college decisions. Below I'll give some insight on how the selected players are doing...

                              Dontae' Brown – Oregon

Donte' Brown finally healed from his injury and dropped 9 points against 0-10 Idaho State while continuing his sixth man role as his team blew out the Tigers 87-52. He'd go on to struggle a little afterwards but recently he's been red hot, stuffing in 14 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists against Quinnipiac in a 100-57 win right before the 78-75 Stanford win where he had 17 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists.

                              Kane Herren – Undecided

Kane Herren has gotten new interest from Wagner University but Harvard still continues at the top of his list.

                              Tuomas Kousa - Undecided

Tuomas Kousa has new interest from Seton Hall, Rutgers, and Saint Johns. The sophomore is finally starting to get some serious looks.

                              Nuka Seyde – Temple

"Finally got my moment and I showed them what I got." Temple hosted F. Dickinson and Nuka got some a decent amount of playing and contributed to a season high 13 points. The next game he battled against Long Island where he added 8 points. With his performances rising up and not his playing time, the forward's patients with the program is dropping.

                              Damon Wright – Rutgers

Damon Wright is the floor general for Rutgers and he's handling the duties well as a freshman. The guard is consistently putting up double-digit scoring [12.2 PPG] for his 11-2 Rutgers team. Things are looking good for the program, they even beat current #1 North Carolina, Wright had 9 that game.

                              Harry Fredman – Duke

Analyst stated Fredman played soft through the first couple of his college games but now the massive bigman has stepped it up big time. Harry got things started with a 18 and 9 game against DePaul, then 14 and 9 against Sam Houston State and abolished Cal Poly with 22 points and 12 rebounds. He finished with 23 points against Boise State and things are clearly opening up for the bigman whose averaging 12.5 PPG and 5.1 RPG.

                              Cole Campbell – Notre Dame

The injury bug hit Cole Campbell in the Ohio game on December 18th where we was seen holding on to his knee before being taken to the locker room. Trainers stated it was a minor injury but he'd miss a good amount of time. He's missed 5 games and the Irish have won all but 1.

                              Stone Harper - Undecided

Stanford's Stone Harper was fresh off the IR list against F. Dickinson on December 27th. He didn't get off to much of a start and found himself in early foul trouble which led to reduced minutes. Stanford would still go on to win 67-56. In the following game against Oregon, Harper looked back to normal with 10 points and 3 assists but it wasn't enough to knock off the Ducks as they lost 75-78. Stone is averaging 7.3 PPG, 3.0 RPG, and 2.7 APG.

                                Northern Colorado Destroy Portland St.

                                1/3/2016

Greeley, Colo - That's how you do it, give a huge statement that conference play will be ruled by N Colorado.

"Excellent, stellar, fantastic play from us today," Coach B.J. Hill praised. "Everyone play GREAT and for that we got a very important win to open things up in conference play."

The Bears won their match against Portland State 89-64 in a game where they knew they had it from the very start.

Kendall Jenkins had the hot hand in the first half, going off for a total of 18 points in that period alone. He'd go on to earn player of the game honors with 25 points and 13 rebounds tallied with 3 steals.

"They're the size of teams I played in high school," Jenkins said after the game. "That twenty five I had tonight was just as easy as it was back in those days. If that's how the Big Sky is made up of then I'll be the greatest player they'll ever see."

Wow. Jenkins truly has his way with the media, he's got a load of confidence he's not afraid to share!

Notable performances also coming from the Bear's side is Brenden Keane who really stepped it up with a tie for his season high 16 points. Cody McDavis started his second straight game and helped greatly on the boards with 10 grabs and even 5 assists.

Tevin Svihovec played productively from the field with 14 points on 5-7 shooting plus 2-4 from downtown. Tim Huskisson continued his streak of good games with a 12 point effort to top the list of double-digit scorers.

Portland State would struggle against both N Colorado's offense and defense and in result only shoot 37% from the field while the Bear's plummeted at the half court. The current Big Sky's leading scorer Deshaun Wiggins would score a game high 31 points but with little help from his teammates, it just wasn't enough to keep the game tight.

The Bears take on the 0-10 Idaho State Bengals at Pocatello next week on the 8th.
