Very nice recruiting class. If you do stay at Radford, I can really see you guy's making some noise in the NCAA a couple years from now.

I am sorta surprised you didn't cut Cron to free up his scholarship a year earlier. I personally like to just run a 10 man rotation.
Now that I have Charisma at an A+, I'll probably do teaching next, then go to offense/defense to hopefully get these guys to develop faster... So, when they're Juniors/Seniors (If I'm still at Radford), we really could make some noise in the Tournament.

I also didn't cut Conn yet because he's my backup plan in case one of my bigs gets injured... He was pretty productive last year, so I thought I'd keep him on the team. :P

Yeah, that's kind of concerning for me... But, in the Big South, the Team Unity is always pretty low... So, we'll most likely win the Big South again with ease :P

Wow 0/15 from downtown for the SeaWolves. That's always nice when a opponent does that for you. Looks like most of both teams offense came from the F.T. line

42 points out of your new Freshman 4 is a solid start but looks like Coleman might have a tough time adjusting to bench life after starting last season

I was extremely surprised to see that they didn't make a free throw. That's the first time throughout this dynasty that has happened. O_o

But, I was extremely pleased with my Freshmen players. They played really well!

The young Highlanders out score the Wolpack by 18 in the 2nd half to complete the comeback victory, to defeat the Nevada Wolfpack 83-72.

Radford was led by Freshman SG Kenny Andrews who had a fantastic game! Andrews scored 17 points on a perfect 6/6 shooting in just 15 minutes due to foul trouble. Andrews also finished with 5 rebounds. Sophomore PF Cordell Darden came off the bench and finished with 13 points on 4/6 shooting, 6 rebounds, and 2 steals. Senior PG Fredrick Garnett finished with 17 points on 4/9 shooting, but was a perfect 7/7 from the free throw line. Yeah I was surprised with how well they played in the 2nd half in the latest win over Nevada. Kenny Andrews is gonna be a great player by the time he graduates.

November 14, 2009: Radford vs. Rice

Rice holds off Radford at home to win a nail biter, 75-73.

With 1:09 left on the clock the score was 73-69 Rice and it was Radford's ball. The Highlanders went right down the court and Freshman SF Emmett Bonner went off a screen and nailed a wide open jumper to make the score 73-71 with 48 seconds left.

The Owls inbounded the ball and milked the clock, until it got down to 5 seconds left on the shot clock. Senior PG Nigel Hackstadt made a lay up right as the shot clock expired and Rice took the 75-71 lead with 13 seconds left.

Radford, who was out of timeouts, raced down the court and Senior PG Fredrick Garnett missed the 3, but PF Brandon Ray made the put back right as time expired. So, Rice would escape with a 75-73 win at home.

Radford had a very balanced scoring attack all night. But, Freshman SF Emmett Bonner finished with a game high 17 points on 5/6 shooting and 3/3 from behind the 3 point arc. Freshman PF Brandon Ray finished with his first career double double as he scored 11 points and grabbed 15 rebounds.

Rice was led by Senior PG Nigel Hackstadt who finished with a team high 16 points, 6 assists, and 3 steals. Although, Hackstadt was not very efficient shooting the ball as he missed 13 shots. Redshirt Sophomore PG Nic Hendry
finished with 14 points on 4/9 shooting. Junior C Wayne Nelson came off the bench and chipped in 10 points and 5 rebounds.

November 21, 2009: Radford vs. Kansas

Kansas overpowers the young Highlanders to win the O'Reilly Auto Parts Classic Championship by a final score of 79-66.

Radford is basically the Mid-Major version of Kansas. Kansas has a total of 3 Juniors (2 on scholarship, 1 walk on) and 0 Seniors. Radford has 2 Seniors and 1 Junior. So, both teams have a total of 3 players that are Juniors or Seniors.

Radford was led by Freshman SF Emmett Bonner who continues to play extremely well. Bonner finished with a game high 19 points on 5/11 shooting and 4/7 from behind the 3 point arc. Sophomore PF Cordell Darden had a great game off the bench, almost getting a double double by scoring 12 points and grabbing 8 rebounds. Freshman C Marquis Peterson almost got a double double as well by scoring 9 points and grabbing 7 rebounds. Peterson was a perfect 4/4 shooting as well as 1/1 shooting from behind the 3 point line!

Kansas was led by Junior PG Judson Simpson who came off the bench to score a team high 16 points and 7 assists. Junior C Ellis Blue finished with a double double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds. Sophomore PF Peter Kane came off the bench and finished with 12 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 steals in 23 minutes of playing time. Former Top-10 recruit, Sophomore PF Garry Webster, scored 8 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. One thing that really helped Kansas keep momentum throughout the game was the 13 steals and the fact that they forced Radford to turn the ball over 22 times.

Doesn't look Coleman likes coming off the bench, but it looks like the Freshman are starting to play better as a unit and it looks like Bonner has really started to take on that scoring role for you.

22 Turnovers are not going to get you to many wins even against lesser opponents and for sure won't get you one against Kansas. Hopefully you can get those under control and it will be smooth sailing from here.
