    HOW SWEET THE SOUND

For the 2nd straight year, the Boise State Broncos are headed to the Sweet 16 after escaping with a 4 point win over Clemson.

Despite coming in with a #10 seed and just 22 wins on the season after going 6-10 in ACC play, Clemson's roster is nothing to look down on (Rated 89 Overall, with 3 players in the starting lineup rated over 80 and all 3 averaging in double digits).

The first half was back and forth with BSU never leading by more then 4 points. Clemson would tie the game (38-38) but Coach Scott would have the Broncos hold for the final shot of the half, and R. Cowans would deliver hitting the go ahead 3pt i

Clemson would continue to push in the 2nd half and again tied the game with less then a minute to play, but after a go ahead bucket by the Broncos, Clemson would miss their shot to tie and were forced to foul with 6.7 seconds to play, as D. Nagatta goes to the line to seal the victory with a pair of free throws. Final Score (81-77)

    R. Len Bullicer led the Broncos attack with 14 pts and 8 rebounds and added another 3 blocks on the defensive end, well R. Cowans for the 2nd straight game finished with 13 points and D. Andres added 11 pts including 5/6 from the free throw line.

The Boise State bench was again talk of the tournament as BSU played 10 players and got 31 points off the bench led by Freshman V. Rasmussen 7 pts 7 rebs and 4 steals.

    Coach Scott
"It's really nice when you can play 7 guy's 20 minutes or more and have another 3 give you double digit minutes as well. I feel our team will be fresh going into our next game and hopefully will allow us to make a deep run this year."

#11 Washington State is the talk of the East, as the #11 Cougars defeat #6 Seton Hall (71-69) in the opening round and then upset #3 Vanderbilt (92-86) to advance to the Sweet 16 where they will take on #2 Cincinnati.

        HISTORY REPEATS!!

For the 2nd straight year, the Boise State Broncos are headed back to the Elite 8 with a chance to write some new history.

Boise State took a pretty commanding lead in the 1st half and went into the locker room up (44-31). The Bronco's knew that the Rebels would have to try and shoot 3's if they had any chance to catch up in the 2nd half and the defense went to work limiting UNVL to just 2/10 after only just 1/6 in the 1st half as the Broncos cruised to a (90-71) victory..

7'0 JR J. Nasiff led the Rebels with 21 pts in the loss.

For Boise State it was JR PG R. Cowans coming up with a huge came yet again. Cowans would finish the night 4/6 from 3pt to lead the Broncos with 17 pts. For the tournament, Cowans is now averaging 14.2 PPG after averaging 9.2 PPG on the season.

Jesus Kennedy added 16 pts and 4 rebounds, well R. Len Bullicer came up huge in the paint again with 6 blocks. Freshman V. Rasmussen also added 4 blks on the defense well adding 7 pts and 7 rebounds. Freshman R. Pekkola added 12 pts hitting 3/3 from 3pt.

Pekkola is now 7/10 from deep in the tournament.

BOISE STATE WILL FACE A FAMILAR FOE ON SATURDAY AS THEY TAKE ON #5 UCLA. THE BRONCOS BEAT THE BRUINS ON THE ROAD EARLIER THIS YEAR WITH A (69-68) VICTORY TO CLOSE OUT NON-CONFERENCE PLAY.

          FINAL 8 IS SET

          WEST
#5 UCLA's upset of #1 Syracuse (104-66) sets up a rematch with Boise State in the West Regional and now gives Boise State the edge as the higher seed,

UCLA (93 Overall) is loaded with talent with 9 players rated 80 Overall or better and 3 Freshman on the bench rated 75, 78,78.

Junior's SF E. Peterson (88) and PG E. Stukes (87) are both considered 1st round draft picks this year, well SO PG H. Samuels (87) and JR SF J. Kuhle (87) are both considered 2nd round picks

          EAST

#1 Maryland will face #2 Cincinnati in the East Regional. The Terps defeated #5 West Virginia (78-59) well the Bearkats ended #11 Washington State's cindarella run (83-69).

          SOUTH

#1 Florida beat #5 Oregon (90-83) well #2 Duke beat #3 Georgia Tech (103-63).. Many are hoping for a Duke victory and a potential rematch with #1 Maryland in the Championship.

          MIDWEST

#4 DePaul rallied in the 2nd half to beat #1 Pitt (81-77) as both #1 seeds from the Big East go down. Could we see a Big East Championship with DePaul taking on Cincinnati??

The Blue Demons will have to get past #2 TAMU first. The Aggies defeated #3 Michigan State (81-71), leaving BSU no chance at a rematch vs the Spartans.

TAMU has a pair of 7'0's in their starting lineup led by JR JonPaul Pleick who scored 22 pts in the win over MSU and is averaging 19.7 PPG on the year, making him and 7'1 Toerre Minnfield (Cincinnati) the 2 highest scoring players in the tournament.

DePaul having the chance to make a Final 4 is definitely one of the more bizarre things I've seen in a CBB dynasty, even if they're part of the Big East!

Even though you beat them the first time, I'm sure Coach Scott won't underestimate UCLA - especially with his team on the cusp of history. And likewise, UCLA is riding high after that Sweet 16 win and is coming in with a ton of confidence. Should be a great game!

Honestly wasn't hoping UCLA wouldn't win. Their roster is loaded. I got lucky with the 1 point win earlier in the year and typically struggle beating really good teams twice.

DePaul playing in the Big East seems to prepare them for battle. I actually have coached at DePaul in previous legacies and they actually do well. I had a legacy where I won multiple titles with the Blue Demons and had a roster loaded with like 8 5* AA's I guess they just underachieve in real life.

BRONCOS AND BRUINS BATTLE INTO OT!!!

The rematch of BSU vs UCLA in the Elite 8 could go down as one of the best games of the year. Boise State came away with a 1 point win (69-68) early in the year during their historic season on their way to 30 wins and the #2 seed in the tournament.

UCLA struggled in Pac-10 play going just 9-9 but managed to win the Pac-10 tournament and came in as a #5 seed. knocking off #4 Virginia and #1 Syracuse with a 104 point performance in the Sweet 16.

Now they meet again as Boise State try's for their first ever Final 4 appearance well UCLA looked to secure their 18th in school history and keep their chances alive for a potential 12th Championship title.

                Coach Scott
"When you think of the best college basketball team on the West Coast, UCLA is #1 on that list. When you think of the best college basketball program in the nation, I feel like they have to be considered a Top-5 along with schools like UNC, Duke, Kentucky, Kansas. I knew coming in this would be the hardest game of my career and I wasn't wrong"

UCLA showed off it's depth tonight with 12 players playing 8 minutes or more and 6'5 Soph SG Omari Hooper came up big hitting 3/3 3pt in the 1st half to lead the Bruins with 11 pts and help them to a (47-44) lead at the break.

For Boise State, the 2nd half was all about finding the hot hand. The Broncos bench was cold as J. Toole, J. Plummer and I. Dilligard combined for just 1/10 from 3pt, but Soph SG Dominic Nagata came up big hitting 4/6 from deep, scoring 18 points including a buzzer beater to tie the game (77-77) to force the Overtime period. But early in the OT period Nagata would pick up his 5th foul sending him to a bench that already had FR V. Rasmussen fouled out as well. FR R. Pekkola would come up big though hitting a 3pt shot to tie the game (80-80) , Each team would trade basket for basket to make it (86-86) but then the Bruins put it away scoring 6 unanswered points led by Soph SG Ken Newman who would score a team high 19 points in the Bruins (92-86) win.

For Boise State it was a the last game for 2 Seniors who had opposite endings. For 7'0 Center Jesus Kennedy it was a career high 30 points in this final game. For Walkon Jeremy Plummer it was a sad end to a pretty decent career as he goes 0/3 from beyond the arc and finishes with just 1 point and 3 rebounds, despite a 42% career %.

The Broncos will return 8 players from the active 10 man roster next year, well also adding 3 players off a redshirt this season as well as a potential 4 scholarships available.

                Coach Scott
"We have a team coming back next season that will include 4 starters that have now played in back to back Elite 8 games. This team will be hungry and it will be ready to make a run at a National Title. It hurts right now, but our goal will be to turn that hurt into fuel for next season"

                  A BATTLE OF 1'S

#1 Maryland took care of #2 Cincinnati (78-64) to Advance to the Final 4 and then defeated #5 UCLA (90-86) hitting 10/23 from deep.

#1 Florida hit a buzzer beater against #2 Duke to win (77-76) and then beat #4 DePaul (who beat #2 TAMU 74-57) again on a last second shot (70-69) to advance to the Championship game.

For Maryland it was their 2nd trip to the Chip, having won it back in 2002 with Juan Dixon leading the way as MVP, could

For Florida they are looking for #3 after winning back to back titles in 2006 and 2007, the Gators havn't been back past the Final 4 since 2014. A win would also be historic for their coach (currently 399) and Coach Dov. Would get it.

The Florida Gators are the National Champions with a (90-72) victory..

The Gators will lose their top 6 players to the draft including 3 players rated over 90 Overall.

Also DePaul's HC retired at the end of the year.

                    Re: SCOTT RETURNS TO CH2K8

The Michigan State Spartans secured this year's #1 class with the signing of the 2 best players in the country. Now the question is which one of them is the next Magic Johnson that leads them to a title game.

5'11 Ruben Underwood (#1/#1PG) is a 5* AA Mr BB from Memphis Tennessee well future teammate Rico Blancett (#2/#2 PG) is also listed at 5'11 and also a 5* AA Mr BB from Philly.

"Neither Underwood or Blancett have the size of Magic, but both players will have a opportunity to start Day 1 as last year's #1 Overall/#1 PG Salvador Hawkins announced he is a 1 and done after winning the Big Ten FOY. With 3 other graduations of players in the backcourt"
USC landed the #2 class with the signing of (5)-5* AA ranked in the Top-25 and a 4* ranked #35. With 4 starters graduating, the Trojans will be young but also very talented.

6'3 Bryan Bobik (#3 Overall/#1 SF, Mr BB CA)
6'7 Robby Vaianney (#4 Overall/#1 SG, Mr BB NV)
                    6'1 Cato Woolley (#14 Overall/#9 PG)
6'2 Herman Joseph (#15 Overall/#4 SG, Mr BB UT)
                    6'2 Donovan Stockman (#25 Overall/#8 SG)
                    6'4 Jerret McKennzie (#35 Overall/#11 SG)

Florida State came away with the #3 Class, signing 4 potential starters at some point.

5* AA Mr BB GA Akin Barrow (#7 Overall/#4 PG)
                    4* Tyson Forbes (#42 Overall/#12 SG)
                    4* Lee Ogundye (#74 Overall/#15 SF)
                    3* 6'10 Dale Babu (#139 Overall/#7 C)

Most people expect Syracuse to come away with a top class each year and they didn't disappoint coming in at #4 with just 3 signings.

                    5* AA J. Kinoch (#5 Overall#2 SG)
5* AA Mr BB NY V. Rodgers (#10 Overall/#7 PG)
                    3* Timir Galbreath (#105 Overall/#38 SG)

However the big surprise this year was St John's who believe in quanity over quality. The Red Storm signed 9 players (7-3* and 2-2*) with every player hailing from New York minus 3* PG J. Matsui who is from Japan.

Gonzaga failed to win the WCC but they are reloading with the #8 Overall Class and will be ready to retake the title of Best Mid Major in college basketball.

4* Mr BB Idaho SG Kennedy Wellington (#59 Overall/#21 SG) turned down Coach Scott and the Broncos, and will instead join 4* Mr BB WA Dan Zachery (#78 Overall/#27 SG) giving the Zag's 2 very talented shooters, as well as a pair of 3* rated in the Top-200.

Florida had to reload after losing 6 players to the NBA and will rely on their #10 Overall Class and a trio of players in the Top-60

4* Mr BB FL Sylvester Crawford (#36 Overall/#20 PG)
                    4* J.W. Annen (#51 Overall/#26 PG)
                    4* Howie Fleming (#57 Overall/#19 SG)

                    Other noteworthy class's.

                    #6 Kansas State
                    #7 Texas
                    #9 Georgetown
                    11 Baylor
                    #12 Texas A&M
                    #13 Washington

                    #16 UNLV
                    #19 Kentucky
                    #20 Cal
#22 Air Force *Signed 3 players who Coach Scott was after including 5* PG A. Badiane (#13 Overall/#8 PG, Mr BB CO), 4* SG E. Douby (#83 Overall/31 SG) and 3* Center Kelly Frazier (#223/#15 C)

                      SCOTT LANDS 5* ALL-AMERICAN

For the 1st time in school history the Boise State Basketball program will have a 5* All-American on the roster.

6'4 Jeremy Moore from Vallejo CA was rated the #13 Overall player in this year's class and the #3 SG.

Moore averaged 12.3 PPG, 7.3 RPG, 5.4 APG, and 3.0 SPG this past summer playing for the Sockeyes in the ABL and hit 20/41 (49%) from 3pt.

                      Coach Scott
"BSU has had some past success with a player named Moore on the Football team, so we felt it was meant to be that our first 5* All-American on the basketball team has the same name. We have a very talented team coming back including 4 players who have been starters since I got here, so odds are Moore will start the year as our 6th man but he will see starter type minutes."

Joining Moore in this year's class is 4* PG Wade Blancett (#52 Overall/#27 PG) from San Rafeal CA. Listed at 5'9 and 160 lbs, Blancett will most likely see a redshirt next year in hopes of maybe adding some size before hitting the court, but don't look down on his 5'9 height, this kid can score. (17.8 PPG, 2.4 RPG, 3.6 APG, 1.3 SPG, 29/78 37% 3pt)

                      Coach Scott
With Cowans a Senior and no other PG really on the roster, I can see Blancett as a 4 year starter, which is why we wanted to redshirt him. We have plenty of depth next year and will actually have some tough decisions with the rotation and minutes as it is."

The Aggies also made a run to the Elite 8 as a #2 seed and return 4 starters"

                        #4 Syracuse (91)
"Like the rest of the Top-3, the Orange have experience with 3 Seniors and 3 Juniors in their top 6 on the roster"

                        #5 Michigan State (92)
"FR PG Ruben Underwood (85) joins a quad of Juniors in the starting lineup, but with the #1 Recruiting class expect the Spartans to be good for a while"

                        #6 Marquette (90)
"SR PF S. Turek (87) is back to try and make 1 more run at the title with SO SG S. Voorhess (85) ready to help"

"SR PG J. Riggs (90) is the leader of a veteran squad (5 Seniors, 4 Juniors) but 7'0 Freshman Robin Polk (81) could help the Hoosiers stay good for awhile"

"SR SF F. Jefferson (85) returns but the duo of 6'11 towers in the post, O. Copeland (89) and K. North (89) is what most of the Big East is worried about"

                        #11 UNC (90)
The Tar Heels have been struggling to dominate the ACC and make deep runs in the tourney, but with a starting lineup of 5 Juniors, they could have 2 years to make a run if they stick together

                          BOISE STATE MEDIA GUIDE

                          Roster

Coach Scott will once again go into the season with 10 active players. With the signing of 5* Guard Jeremy Moore, the big question was who was going to redshirt and who was going to probably be leaving the team.

4* PG W Blancett was a easy decision for a redshirt as he will now have the chance to be a 4 year starter next season with the graduation of R. Cowans.

Last year Coach Scott signed 2 Walkon SG in 3* Roburt Pekkola (74) from Memphis Tennessee and 3* Dominic Lang (69) from Austrailia. Lang redsshirted last season well Pekkola played in 36 games logging 522 minutes putting up 6.7 PPG, 2.0 RPG, 1.4 APG and 1.0 SPG well also hitting 42/96 3pt (.437%).

At the end of the day, Lang has decided to transfer well Pekkola will recieve a redshirt season giving him a chance to develope into a even bigger assest off the bench next season behind Moore.

Here is a look at the 10 man rotation.

                          PG-SR R. Cowans (71)
"Cowans a 3 year starter who has started 89/93 games he has played put up his best season yet last year averaging 8.5 PPG 2.2 RPG, 3.9 AGP 1.3 SPG well hitting 37% from 3pt. Cowans was big in the tournament averaging over 14 PPG."

                          SG-JR D. Nagata (79)
" The lone Junior on the team, Nagata has started 68/71 games the past 2 seasons, averaging 9.2 PPG, 2.2 RPG, 4.5 APG 1.2 SPG well shooting 112/283 3PT (.395%)"

                          SF- SR D. Andres (72)
"Andres like Cowans has been a 3 year stater since arriving on campus. He has started 96/99 games played, and despite being listed at just 6'6 has played well at both forward positions having a career year last year putting up 9.0 PPG 5.4 RPG, 1.1 APG well shooting 48% FG."

                          PF- SO V. Rasmussen (78)
"Rasmussen won the WAC FOY and was named to the WAC All-Conference team after posting 6,2 PPG, 4.7 RPG, 1.3 BPG playing 487 minutes in 28 games off the bench. The former 4* rated 69 Overall in his class, was the highest rated recruit before the signing of Moore"

                          C- SR R. Len Bullicer (73)
"LIke Cowans and Andres, Bullicer has been a 3 year starter and a huge reason for the Broncos success since Coach Scott arrived on campus.. Just a former 2*, Bullicer has blossomed into a star for the Broncos. improving each season including last season when he led the team with 14.6 PPG. For his career he has averaged 11.8 PPG, 5.7 RPG, 1.0 SPG, 1.5 BPG starting 96/99 games.

                          PG/SG- SR J. Toole (72)
"Toole enters his final season. It's been a roller coaster for the 6'7 guard. As a Freshman he avearaged 7.4 PPG, 2.3 RPG and 3.2 APG well hitting 30/72 3PT (42%), starting 7 of 28 games, but saw his minutes and #'s dip in Year 2 (3.8 PPG, 1.0 RPG,1.7 RPG, 34% 3pt) before raising it back up to 5.5 PPG, 1.5 RPG, 2.4 APG despite shooting just 30% from deep."

                          SG FR J. Moore (80)
"The #12 Player in the class and the #3 SG, All-American from Vallejo CA has high expectations from Coach Scott and the Boise State Fan's. The team has never had a true 1 player star, with 4 players typically in double digits most nights. Moore will start out as the 6th man off the bench but will most likely end up with as many minutes as the starters. Question will be how many shots he gets each game.

                          SF- SO I. Dilligard (77)
"Dilligard made the All-WAC Fresman team, last season starting 4/36 games played, averaging 7.7 PPG, 3.1 RPG, 1.1 APG, 1.0 SPG well hitting 44/96 (46%) from deep. The former 4* is expected to take over at SF next year but could push Andres for starts and minutes when the team needs a 3pt shooter out there"

PF- RS SO V. Robinson (69)
"Robinson played as a true freshman averaging 4.5 PPG, 3.6 RPG seeing action in 35 games, but redshirted last year with the emergence of Jesus Kennedy in the starting lineup and Rasmussen filling in as a reserve. At 6'9 and the ability to hit the 3pt shot, Robinson could see the floor in the final minutes of games when the Broncos need to spread the floor"

                          C- RS FR C. Toumou (74)
"The former 3* Mr BB (Idaho) redshirted last season with Len Bullicer and Kennedy recieving the bulk of the minutes in the post, but look for Tourma to keep Bullicer and Rasmussen both fresher this season and very well could give the Broncos a repeat at WAC FOY if Moore doesn't put up big #"

                          Schedule

The Broncos will once again stick to the West coast as they look to build a strong recruiting base close to home. BSU will play 12 games in non-conference play including their first 4 games at home in Extra Mile Arena giving them a total of 7 home games and 5 away games before starting WAC Play. Several key games to highlight is Gonzaga making it's first trip to Boise after the Broncos have defeated the Zags in Spokane the past 2 seasons. Will the Zag's get their revenge or will BSU make it 3 in a row. BSU will also host Coach Scott's former team in the UC Riverside Highlanders. Several of Scott's final recruiting class is still on the roster. Can those guy's beat their former coach. Away games feature a trip @ USC where BSU will get a look at the Trojan's Fab Freshman Recruits and BSU will continue to make their Souhern Cal presence with games @ Cal and #1 UCLA in a rematch of last year's Elite 8 loss to the Bruins after beating UCLA earlier in the yaer. I see this become a intense rivalary. BSU will close out their non-conference schedule on Christmas Eve at home vs the Washington Huskies as BSU will add the Huskies to a rotation of Pac-10 schools on the schedule. Here is a full look.

                          11/6 vs Idaho State
                          11/8 vs Air Force
                          11/12 vs Gonzaga
                          11/19 vs San Diego State
                          11/21 @ Pepperdine
                          11/25 @ USC

                          12/14 @ Cal
                          12/22 @ #1 UCLA

                          WAC PREVIEW

Since Coach Scott arrived in Boise, the Broncos have won both the regular season title and the WAC tournament title in both seasons with Scott at the helm. With 4 starters returning, BSU (83 Overall) is once again picked among the best teams in the conference, but don't expect a repeat of BSU's 15-1 record in WAC play of last season.

                          Nevada (85 Overall)
"The Wolpack have a trio star players. SR PF C. WIlson (83) is considered the leagues "Best Defender" and averaged 15.5 PPG and 7.3 RPG to go with a league high 2.2 BPG. JR D. Prait (81) averaged 9.7 PPG and 3.3 APG, well 6'10 Soph C Reid Montrimas (80) posed 4.8 PPG, 5.7 RPG, and 1.5 BPG as a freshman.

                          Utah State (83 Overall)

"The Aggies are led by star SF L.F. Whitaker who is considered the "Best Overall, Best Pro Prospect and Best Shooter". Whitaker averaged 17.3 PPG, 5.5 RPG, 1.8 APG and 1.1 SPG well hitting 67/174 3PT (38%) as he was named 1st Team All-WAC". Whitaker will be helped by SR PG Mire Mooreovich. The former 4* Mr BB from Pocatello Idaho is considered the leagues Best Playmaker and averaged 9.3 PPG to go with 3.6 APG.

                          Fresno State (83 Overall)
The Bulldogs have 5 Seniors on the roster including 3 starters led by PG R. Abur-Rahim (80), SF D .Willingham (79) and Center Bryan. Boyden (79).

                          Hawaii (81 Overall)
Like Fresno, the Warriors ahve 5 Seniors with 3 of them starters, led by SF B. Sparks (83) who averaged 14.6 PPG, 4.5 RPG last year and SR SG R> Blankenship (79) who averaged 14.0 PPG but former 4* Mr BB HI Soph PG Monty Dearmon is a future star of the conference. Dearmon posted 6.3 PPG and 4.9 APG as a true freshman starting in 22/22 games.

                          Idaho (79 Overall)
The Vandals are led by former Indiana Hoosier SR SG J. Walcott (81) who transfered last year and averaged 9.1 PPG, 5.7 RPG and 4.7 APG and 7'0 JR Dylan Bockerman who led the team with a 13.3 PPG and 5.6 RPG.

                          New Mexico (79 Overall)
The Aggies are led by SR SF P. Toussaint (80) who averaged 9.9 PPG, but look for them to use a trio of bigmen in the post this season as well with 7'0 JR C. Watson, 6'11 SR B. Morton and 6'10 SO T. Koltum with the graduation of leading scorer and WAC POY T. McInitosh.

                          San Jose State (79 Overall)

The Spartans are led by former 5* AA (#15 Overall/#11 SG), SO Kudus Bragg. Bragg posted 8.1 PPG, 3.4 RPG, 3.5 APG and 1.5 SPG last season well being named to the WAC All-FOY team.. They also return leading scorer JR SF O. Sanchez (10.4 PPG, 5.7 RPG) and 7'1 JR Center R. Montgomery (10 PPG)

                          La Tech (75 Overall)
The Bulldogs are expect to finish last yet again, after winning just 3 games in the WAC last year. JR PF D. Boudin (72) is their best player and he averaged just 5.2 PPG well 6'11 SR Center C. Delgado averaged 5.0 PPG as well

                            ZAGS GET THEIR REVENGE!!

Boise State opened up the season with home wins over Idaho State (74-53) and Air Force (80-50) but in Game 3 of the 4 game homestand the Zags came looking for revenge.

Gonzaga doesn't loose very often and typically never inside The McCarthey Athletic Center "The Kennel". but since arriving in Boise Coach Scott has led the Broncos to back to back victories over the Zags.

Today despite a (41-32) lead at the half, BSU couldn't make it 3 in a row, as the Bulldogs battled back to a almost mirror of the 1st half with the Zags outscoring the Broncos (42-31) coming away with the 2 point victory (74-72).

Boise State struggled from the outside hitting just 3/17 well Gonzaga couldn't miss hitting 10/26 led by their duo backcourt of Soph PG S. Troutman (23 pts 4/11 3pt) and JR SG B. Spencer (17 pts 10 reb 5 assists 2 steals 4/8 3pt).

For Boise State, 4 players scored in double digits with the bulk of their damage coming in the post. SG D. Nagata led the team with 14 pts and 8 assits (2/5 3pt) but then it was V. Rasmussen (12 pts 7 rebs 3 blks), R. Len Bullicer (11 pts 3 reb 2 blks) and C. Toumou leading the bench (11 pts 7 reb).

Boise State would bounce back in the final game of the homestand with a (89-84) win over San Diego State.

BSU again dominated the 1st half (57-45) but managed to hold on despite the Aztecs making a 2nd half push (39-32).

Boise State once again had 4 players end in double digits, but the media mostly wanted to talk about 5* Freshman J. Moore who left the game early missing his only shot of the game.

                            Coach Scott
"It's been a rough start for Moore, he has been battling a hamstring pull since the win over Idaho State and right now the trainers think it would be best if he limits his action. We might try and give him a couple minutes each night but it will probably be 2 weeks before he is fully healed."
With Moore out it was Nagata (18 pts 4/5 3pt) and R. Cowans (12 pts 7 assists, 3/5 3pt) carrying the load in the backcourt with Len Bullicer (20 pts 5 reb 3 steals) and V. Rasmussen (13 pts 4 rebs) keeping people honest in the post.

Freshman C. Toumou led the bench for the 3rd straight game with 9 points and 7 rebounds.

BSU WILL TAKE ON (4-4) PEPPERDINE ON MONDAY BEFORE HEADNIG TO #20 (5-1) USC ON SATURDAY.

                              BRONCOS CLIMB INTO TOP-25

Boise State picked up 2 huge road wins over Pepperdine and Top-25 ranked USC last week and followed it up with with a home win over Coach Scott's former team UC Riverside to improve to (6-1) on the season and earn it's own Top-25 ranking at #23 in the Media Poll. Here is a recap of the 3 games.

                              PEPPERDINE (84-79)

Pepperdine went 23-9 last year on their way to de-throning the Gonzaga Bulldogs as WCC Champions for the 1st time in 8 years and kept things close in the 1st half trailing the Broncos (46-43) but down by 4 with less then 40 seconds to play, the Wave were forced to foul and the Broncos won the game knocking down 4/4 from the line to close out the game.

Senior M. Childress led Pepperdine with 25 points well JR PG G. McGuire added 17 pts hitting 3/5 from deep.

For Boise State 4 players scored in double digits, but was Freshman C. Toumou who shined leading all scorers off the bench with 17 pts 4 reb and 2 blks. The career night by Toumou is a big deal with 4 starters set to graduate including 3 year starer R. Len Bullicer in the post, Toumou has proven already he is ready for a much bigger role.

Joining Toumou in double digits were V. Rasmussen (13 pts 8 reb 4 blks), D. Andres (13 pts 7 reb 2 steals) and R. Cowans (10 pts 5 assists).

"We went hard after Vianney last year in our recruiting class, and honestly I thought we had a pretty good shot at landing him, but the Trojans made a late offer. The 6'7 SG from Las Vegas also had scholarship offers from UNLV and Nevada as well"

                                24 OF TOP-25 SIGN EARLY!!!

With 6 scholarships to offer and 4 starters graduating, Coach Scott and the Boise State staff were heavy favorites to come away with a early signings this season after coming off a Elite 8 appearance and 33 win season. Instead Coach Scott saw 4 of his scholarship offered players sign elsewhere including a pair of 5* All-Americans head to Gonzaga and BSU's #1 target headed to the Broncos new Southern Cal rival UCLA.

                                Coach Scott
"It always tough to find out kids are signing elsewhere but it's a double whammy when you find out they are going to schools that have become rivals as well.. Then to find out that none of the 5 scholarships we offered signed despite 2 players who had us #1 and had said they were 100% it's even worse. We have 6 players coming back from the current 10 man rotation and we have 2 very talented guards redshirting, so honestly going into this recruiting class, my goal was to get some size and to just build depth knowing we would actually probably only use 3 or 4 of the scholarships being how only 2 players will most likely make the active 10 man roster new year unless we decide to change up what I have done since Day 1"
