    Game 3-Bears at Packers

Not a lot to say about this game. It's going to be a long rebuilding period in Green Bay; at least in my dynasty. McFadden ran for 100 yds, Woodson passed for 300, and Phillips was the star on defense. I wish Green Bay would use Joseph more, he's the future of their running game. I beat the Packers 48-14.

Injuries- CB Charles Tillman 1 week-broken thumb. LG Rondell Owens-cracked leg bone-out 4 weeks. This left me without a LG, so I moved Schuening to LG temporarily.

    Coach upgrades-OC-Phy Dev TE 2, RBC-Improved Ball Carrier Moves, DBC-Int Dev DB3.

      Game 5- Cowboys at Bears

This one was a thriller that had to go to Overtime to determine a winner. Special teams was critical in this game.. Gould hit 3 FG, 2 from 51 yds out and the 3rd with 3 seconds left in regulation. On the Cowboys side, Olindo Mare missed an easy FG. Tony Romo suffered an injury early on that may have played a role in the outcome, as he missed most of the 2nd and 3rd quarters. He threw 3 TD passes when he was in there. In overtime, Devin Hester returned a kickoff 99 yds to win the game for the Bears 28-22.

      Injury-TE Mike Peterson-dislocated elbow-miss 2 weeks.

      Coach upgrades-OC-Int Dev-RB3

Trades-Traded WR Issac Bruce to the Eagles for their 2011 4th and 7th.

        Game 6- Vikings at Eagles

This one was a bit of a disappointment. I was expecting a tough division battle only to end up with a total blowout. It was all over by the time the 1st Half ended. I put the backups in the 3rd quarter to make things manageable, and the Vikings made it semi-respectable in the 4th. I beat the Vikings 69-21.

          Game 7- Bears at Lions

The Lions gave me my first competitive game in my divisions. I'll have to Gameplan next time around to beat their passing game(and they'll probably try to run next time). I wouldn't have won this one if the Lions QB hadn't thrown 4 INTs, one which was returned by Kenny Phillips for a TD. I beat the Lions 30-17.

Injuries-Rondell Owens recovered from his injury, however his potential dropped a point.

            Game 8-Cardinals at Bears

Hardest game I've played since the Browns game. The Cardinals shut down my running game early, so I passed a little more than usual. I had a hard time getting into the end zone, and Gould missed 2 makable field goals. 1 particularly memorable play had Gino King intercept a ball in the end zone, fumble the ball, and a Arizona player recover the ball for a TD. It was that sort of game. I was lucky to emerge with the 27-24 win.

              2009 Mid-Season Stats

Just a couple notes before I post my player's mid season stats. I put forced fumbles in the PD column for defense, and I put 0 for 20+receptions because that's not a stat for WR in HC. Notes of concern are the lack of tackles by my defensive line and outside linebackers, the secondary and MLB are getting most of them. This tells me the QB of the opposing team is getting the ball away long before my defense can get to him.I'll have to address this next year.

                Game 9- Ravens at Bears

So the Ravens defense did what it usually does, and did a good job of shutting down my offense. Woodson was held to less than 200 yds passing, and most of McFadden rushing yardage was late in the game. Brian Urlacher returned a fumble for a TD to make things easier. With Zazzali as backup, Brohm was the one to put up 300 yards passing against my team, although we did hold him to 1 TD. We beat the Ravens 30-7.

                  Game 10- Steelers at Bears

Another tough game for my offense. McFadden was held to under 50 yds rushing, and the passing game was inconistant. The defense did its part though. Gino King had 3 sacks, Nathan Vasher had 2 INTs, and the defense overall had 6 forced turnovers and 6 sacks. I beat the Steelers 23-13.

                    Game 11-Bears at Seahawks

The big play of this game was a 72 yd catch by Greg Olsen. He's not the fastest player around, so it was a surprise to watch him outrun the entire Seahawks defense. It came with a price though, Olsen tore his calf muscle and will miss the next 2 weeks. He's been my primary offensive weapon in some games, so his absence will hurt the team. Devin Hester also returned a kickoff 96 yards during the game, I re-signed him after the game. I beat the Seahawks 27-7.

                      Game 12-Bears at 49ers

The 49ers have a few stars on defense, but they have a long way to go. Woodson and McFadden both had good games, and Olsen wasn't even missed. Woodson just picked a new TE to target as the Bears rolled to a 45-3 victory.Nathan Vasher was the star on defense as he picked off 2 passes, 1 for a touchdown.

Injuries-David Hale returned from his injury. As a result , my trainer had enough points to get the special skill Off-season Rehab.

Nathan Vasher was named the Defensive Player of the Week.

                        Game 13- Bears at Vikings

The bloody game froze on me when I got to the 2 minute drill. I really didn't want to spend another 1 1/2 hours re-playing this game, so I supersimmed this game. The score was at 28-28 when I decided to enter the game and play the final 2 minutes. Woodson threw a TD pass to Doucet to take the lead, and then Tillman intercepted a pass for a TD to seal the deal. The win clinched the division for the Bears, we're moving to the playoffs!

I bought Performance 3 for my WRC after the game.

                          Game 14-Bears at Bengals

This game was a good tuneup for the playoffs. I fell behind early 14-0(something I rarely do), but Woodson brought me back in the game. Palmer really lit up my secondary for 350 yds passing, but Vasher made some key INTs when he needed to. I beat the Bengals in a close one 31-26.

                          Injuries:

ROLB Lance Briggs-bruised thigh-miss 2 weeks. He should be ready for the playoffs.

WR Early Doucet-strained hamstring-4 weeks. He might be ready by the Divisional game.

                            Game 15-Bears at Saints

A pretty good game all around. The Saints did a good job of keeping me to field goals in the 1st half, but my offense picked up in the 2nd half. I scored 14 unanswered points in the 4th quarter to put things away. I beat the Saints 30-14. The Bucs have finished the season 15-1, so I have to win the last game to keep home filed advantage in the NFC.

                              Game 16- Packers at Bears

First thing I do after this game is change my sliders from default. The passing game is too overpowering, and the running game is too futile. Now to the Packers game-they really need to upgrade their secondary in the offseason. The have some good corners, but they're aging. Woodson passed for 400 yards, passed for 5 TDs and ran for another. I beat the Packers 49-17. I finished 15-1 on the season and will have home-field advantage in the NFC. Andre Woodson won Offensive Player of the Week.

                              Injuries-WR Devin Hester-will miss 3 weeks.

                                2009 Final Regular Season Standings

All playoff teams have a asterisk next to them. The Colts went undefeated in the regular season, which is impressive since all teams in the AFC South won 10 games. It's too bad the Titans don't play in the NFC. The NFC West and AFC East turned out to be weak divisions this year, with only one team with a winning record in those divisions. Hammermill led the Falcons to a winning record, but failed to make the playoffs his first year.
