Bringing the Pride Back (HC 09)

I really like this game! This thread title could pertain to alot of different teams! So I am curious what you would like to follow. I have the Browns team I have been working on. I am just starting my 3rd season with them, never won a playoff game with them yet. So I can pick up with them from the start of 2010. Or I am thinking I would like to do a team that hasnt had much on here about them.

What are your thoughts? Browns from 2010 or someone from scratch?

I am not sure how to use the new table generators so will just generate the info the old way.

If you like the Browns, continue with that one. If you want a new start, pick another team. All things being equal, I'd rather continue an ongoing dynasty unless I want a different playbook or a different sort of coach. Generators aren't too hard-here's how I do mine. I print out the relevant table or box score, play the game and fill out the data. go to Dynasty tab-Generate Dynasty Generators, enter my data, and press create table. The only hard part is the html code-you highlight the code, copy the highlighted code, paste it into where I want the table/box score in my dynasty post, and there you go!

Re: Bringing the Pride Back (HC 09)

I think I am going to continue with the Browns team I have. I simmed the first year and ended up 8-8. I redid the coaching staff completely. I simmed the 2nd season games, I went 13-4 and lost in the 1st round of the playoffs to the Bengals.

      Here is the coaching info:

HC: Me (24) I am working on getting Charisma, trying to build up the general coaching skills

OC: Chudzinski (66) Concentrating on playbook training for now

DC: Mike Singletary (85) Once again, playbook training

ST: Harbaugh (48) Performance, level 3 is my next goal

QB: Musgrave (47) Learning, level 4 is the next skill I want for him

RB: Caldwell (89) I want Intangibles, level 3 next for him

WR: M Johnson (63) Working on Learning, level 4

OL: Marshall (76) I want Chemistry, level 4 next. I am not sure if this actually helps, but i want to be able to keep my o-line intact

LB: Pepper Johnson (58) Learning, level 3. Glad to have gotten him.

DB: John Lynch (36) Performance, level 4. Great secondary coach for me.

DL: Spangler (31) Physical Development 4. Lots of potential.

GM: Corsetti (67) Small School Insider. I know this is kind of cheesing...but I dont do any IRs so I need access to as much info as possible. Never seen this guys name before but wow, lots of potential.

TR: Quartermann (76) Working on cardio training.

A really good staff. I've got Caldwell as QBC, and I will warn you that he will leave if you don't promote him to OC. It's been a real trial for me to try and keep him on the last couple of years as QBC.One way or another, I'll have to fire him unless my OC Heimerdinger retires.

Re: Bringing the Pride Back (HC 09)

Just to bring everything up to date, I played the Pre-season games and went 3-1, lost to the Colts in OT.

I did have 2 good finds on the FA wire right before the season began, MLB Gino King (83/91) and RB Adrian Joseph, Jr (85/95). King got to play the last pre-season game so he was able to learn some plays. Joseph was rotated in for some of the plays in the first game and was adequate. I am curious to see how he progresses.

Owner expected me to finish below 500, promised to get to the playoffs. There are still some problems with this team (running game!) before I think they can win it all.

Re: Bringing the Pride Back (HC 09)

Owner requests for re-signing and my thoughts...

QB Anderson: Good QB, but not GREAT QB. I am working my back-up into the game and may try to trade Anderson. I know he is going to want a huge contract, just not sure I want to give it to him.

WR Edwards: "Butterfingers" Braylon. He had 4 drops in the last preseaon game and that was in 1 half, but then he has 8 catches in the 1st game of the season. He has 51 TDs over his career...but he also has 51 drops....most of any of the premiere WRs this year. Jury is out on him, may trade him and just take the hit from the owner.

C Hank Fraley: Not going to happen. 32 years old, health at 85% on a good day. I may trade him now though if I can trade for Nick Mangold from the Jets. I think he will sign fairly easy and would be a great upgrade. Mangold is in his last year as well.

DT Moore: Up to him really. He is tough to negotiate with so will see what he wants,

DT Rubin: Would like to keep him. Rogers is already banged up (health at 77) but just like Moore, up to him. Both are good DTs, but not been putting up GREAT numbers.

OLB Wimbley: Even though he is good, he is already banged up. Will see what happens before the trade window opens.

K Serna: Will keep unless he demands the universe...and the kitchen sink!

The only other 4 I am considering keeping are FB Vickers MLB King, RB Joseph and P Kern. I will see what the others want, but except for the CBs, everyone esle is a backup. MLB King and RB Joseph will be interesting to see if they progress into anything.

                        Patriots: Holt - 44 yrd FG 17-17
                        4th Quarter
Browns: Joseph - 1 yrd Run (Serna kick) 24-17
Browns: Witten - 16 yrd Pass from Anderson (Serna kick) 31-14

The kicker really hurt them in this game. My defense was in "bend but dont break" mode. To be honest, I was very shocked by this win.

                            WEEK 3, BROWNS @ RAVENS

This game was ugly. I figured it wouldnt be too bad, Boyler was hurt so they were starting Scotland, their rooke QB. He tore me up! I really need to upgrade my corners, they were getting burned all over the field. The defense stepped up in the 4th quarter to shut them down and I came away with the win...nothing to brag about though.

Are you playing the 2010 season or simming/supersimming it?
