Another Fast Start Does in Owls
      Seminoles ground Owls 45-29

Tallahassee, FL(AP)-Well ho hum, just another fast start for the Noles. This time they put up 35 points in the opening stanza. About the only thing that did not go their way was a Weatherfors fumble returned for a touchdown midway through the second quarter. Drew already had 3 touchdown passes by that point and the game was well in control. Wel sort of. Rice came out of the locker room desperate to get back in it and had some of the 80,000+ worried as they trimmed the lead to 35-21, but a Cismesia field goal early in the 4th clipped the Owls comeback wings. Up next, the Noles(3-1.1-1) travel to NC State in 12 days. ESPN will be broadcasting the game.

Noles Put Thursday Night Disasters in the Past
            FSU beats Wolf Pack 30-23

Raleigh, NC(AP)-It was a game Coach Kodiak had worried about since he took over the program and saw the schedules. "We have had a tough time with Thursday night games on ESPN. Louisville, NC State, and UVA, just to name a few." coach Kodiak said. The Noles took the opening drive into Pack territory before stalling out and having to settle on a Cismesia field goal. The D bent but did not break and got the ball back setting up Booker for his first of two touchdown runs. It looked like another flying start for the Noles as Cismesia added another field goal before State finally got on the board, thanks to a Baker TD run. The Pack would miss the extra point but add a field goal at the end of the half to go into the locker room down 16-9.

Coming out of the break, FSU looked to Booker to estabish the ground game and he took second play from scrimmage 68 yards to the promised land. He broke two tackles and hurdled a helpless defender, then just used his blazing quickness to outrun the pack.(no pun intended) State would answer with a Matt Stone td pass, then both teams defenses stiffened. Not wanting to give the ball back to the Pack, FSU again turned to the ground game and ran play after play after play. A healthy diet of Booker and Smith wore down the Pack and the Noles capped off the drive with a nice play action pass to Smith. The Pack would score in the final seconds but the onsides kick was to no avail. The Noles(4-1, 2-1) will travel to Durham next Saturday to take on the Duke Blue Devils.

Devils Prove It Can Rain in Hell
Devils score 33 2nd half points to upset Noles

Durham, NC(AP)-This was not supposed to happen. Too many things going against Duke to pull off the upset 2 weeks in a row. But yet there they were celebrating and tearing down goal posts after what would be the biggest win in school history two weeks in a row. "After beating Bama, you would of thought they would have been on cloud nine and would crash back to earth. But when we turn the ball over 8 times, we cant and should not expect to win. I dont care how much more talent we have than other teams, when you giftwrap the game for them, you cant blame them for taking it." A disgusted and soaking wet Coach Kodiak said after the game.

In what was the worst weather FSU has seen all season, everything looked to be going their way. On the opening kickoff, Duke fumbled as a result of all the rain and Trevor Ford scooped it up and returned it for the quick lead. But Duke proved that the win over Alabama was no fluke and their halfback, Boyle made sure of that. After the ensuing kickoff, and on a 3rd and short, Boyle took the handoff and bounced to the outside, racing 69 yards for the tying td. The Noles got scoring drives on each of the next four possesions but they were all field goals. "We had trouble converting on 3rd down all game long." Weatherford said. So the Noles nursed a 19-7 lead going into the break.

In the 2nd stanza the rain came down even harder and it only fired up the Devils. They ran through, around, and over the lifeless Nole defense. They ran off 26 straight and found themselves on the right side of the score up 33-19 with a little under 6 minutes remaining. The Noles quickly scored to make it a 1 possesion game again, but Mr Boyle quickly laid to rest any hope of a Seminole comeback in this Devil's den. He took the first play from scrimmage 80 yards for his 4th score of the day to seal the deal. The Noles(4-2,2-2) return home to face Boston College next week in what now puts them in a must win situation for the remainder of conference play.

Another big 1st half fules FSU to 58-27 win over BC

Tallahassee, FL(AP)-You could sense the tension all week. Players hitting each other harder in practice, all the skill positions holding on to the ball a little tighter, nothing was going to keep the Noles from rebounding after their most embarrasing loss in the last half century. Everyone came out fired up and as a result, the Noles held a 34-7 half time advantage. "No one was more embarrased than me after last weeks game. But I told the guys to put it behind them and go out and take that first step towards recovery. Maryland is atop our division but with a win against BC, we get Maryland next, and they have some tough games left." remarked Coach on his pregame talk. The Noles did enough in the second half to make sure there was no doubt as to the outcome in this game. Up next is a trip to Byrd Stadium where the Noles(5-2, 3-2) meet division leader Maryland.

I told you it got better. I was so ready to hang up my controller after that one. I just could not hold onto the ball. Smith, Booker, and Weatherford all had fumbles. The rain was nuts, I hope I never play in it again.

Noles Not Ready to Relinquish ACC Just Yet
FSU scores 42 1st half points to put the turtles back in their shell

College Park, MD(AP)-Maryland came into the matchup with a nice 2 game lead over FSU for the ACC's Atlantic division. That lead has quickly dwindled to one game and with matchups still left against Miami and Clemson, Florida State has somewhat regained control of their destiny. With the offense racing the defense to see who could score more points in the first half, the Noles never looked back after taking a commanding 42-0 lead into halftime. Oh yeah and about that race, the O had 28 to the D's 14. The tight ends played a big role in the opening half as both Piurowski(2) and Warren caught touchdown passes. Booker added a td run and then the D took over. Both DB's, Carter and Bryant had pick sixes and the Noles are now cruising back into Tallahassee with new life. "Well we are now one more step closer to reaching the ACC championship game. I just dont think Maryland can beat both Miami and Clemson, and if we play like we did today against Virginia and Wake Forest, we will be headed back to Jacksonville." said an upbeat Coach Kodiak. The Noles(6-2,4-2) return home for their final four games and face ACC rival Virgina before wrapping up ACC play the following weekend against Wake Forest.
