        FSU Fends Off Cavs
Noles Hold on to Beat UVA 37-32

Tallahassee, FL(AP)-The FSU defense has not been in a giving mood latley, and again they forced 5 Virginia turnovers to help hold of a resilliant effort from their rivals from Charlottesville. And again, the D was able to take one of those turonvers in for 6. Special teams was key for both sides. After FSU went 7-0 early, UVA answered right back on a 96 yard kickoff return. The extra point attempt was blocked, but UVA was able to scoop it up and get a 2 pt conversion out of it. They would add a field goal to go up 11-7 before Cismesia pulled them back to within 1. UVA marched back down the field and went up 18-10 on a Peerman 8 yd run. Cismesia add another field goal and then the D forced their fisrt turnover. That set up Booker's second rushing touchdown and sent the Noles into the break up 20-18.

The third quarter was very uneventful until J.R. Bryant picked off a pass and returned it 46 yards to put FSU up 27-18. But again the Cavs answered but their D was beginning to get worn down and the Noles turned to Booker and Smith to rack up yards and keep the clock moving. With 5:22 left in the game, Smith took a handoff and dove over the pile to put FSU back up 34-25. The Noles added on another Cismesia field goal to put UVA out of reach. Again the final score was FSU 37- UVA 32. Up next is the final ACC regular season game for the Noles(7-2, 6-2), when they play host to ACC Atlantic division cellear dwellar Wake Forest.

Noles Clinch ACC's Atlantic for Second Straight Year
33-7 win over Wake Forest eans return trip to Jacksonville

Tallahassee, FL(AP)-FSU knew coming in with a win, they would be returning back to Jacksonville as the ACC's Atlantic Division champions and they left no doubt to the end result. The only points allowed were on a WF fumble return that cut into the early Nole lead leaving them up 14-7. Thats as close as the Deacons would come to the end zone the rest of the way. Behind a punishing defensive and enough offense to score when it mattered, FSY went on to win 33-7

                  Noles Rough Up Broncos
Offense, Defense, Special Teams all score in 61-0 victory

Tallahassee, FL(AP)-Western Michigan came in hoping to catch the Noles looking ahead to next week's showdown with #1 Florida. They were in for a rude awakening. FSU had all three aspects of the game scoring touchdowns en route to the most dominating win of the season. "Hopefully, we are hitting are stride. We get or rivals from Gainsville next week and then have the rematch with Miami, so we need to be jelling." remarked a catiously optomistic Coach Kodiak after the game. The offense put up 4 touchdowns, the D had 2, both on fumble returns, and the special teams added 1 on a punt return. This one was over before half time as the Noles went into the break up 27-0. They came out with even more intensity in the final chapter and added 34 more, 21 of those by the D and special teams. Up next is the final regular season game with instate rival and #1 Florida(also #1 in the BCS)

                  No stats for this game

WR-Riley Perkins from Pampa, TX committed but the other WR said he enjoyed his visit but would not even give a soft verbal. This gives the Noles four signings already.

                          ANOTHER CLASSIC RIVALRY GAME
Gators fend off hail mary: win 38-36

Tallahassee, FL(AP)-In what will go down as another great game between these two rivals, Florida was able to hold on at the end to keep FSU winless in the Sunshine State Championship. Trailing 38-36, FSU took the punt and returned it to their own 40 with 15 seconds remaining. Having no timeouts and needing to get about 25 yards to get into field goal range, FSU did their best. The Gators brought pressure on 1st down and forced an incomplete pass. Drew just fired the ball out of bounds so as not to take a sack. Now there was 11 seconds left. On the next play, the Gators again brought pressure but Weatherford found Booker out in the flar and he made it all the way down to the Gator 40 before being knocked out of bounds. That set up the final play with 5 seconds left. Being too far away for a field goal, FSU was forced to try the hail mary. Unike three years ago when much maligned Nole QB-Chris Rix connected with PK Sam, this one was not quite as successful. But it was not for lack of effort. The Gators showed blitz so Drew aubiled to Greg Carr. He found himself in 1-on-1 coverage and the pass was headed his way. Carr was standing on the goal line, awaiting the ball, a ball that looked to be catchable. He got his hands on it and looked like he was making the game winning grab, when he got his world rocked and had the ball knoced loose. It went to review to see if he had possession, which they said he did, but they also ruled him down on the 1 foot line. "To come so close to knocking them out of the National Championship is heartbreaking. If we did not have the ACC championship game to plat next week, I would take a long time getting over this." a dejected Coach Kodiak said afterwards.

The Noles jumped out to an early lead 10-0 but that may have also been the downfall. After forcing a three and out on UF's opening drive, Nole returner Kenny O'Neal took it back all the way to Gator 5. But the Gators held, forcing FSU to a field goal. Kodiak said "What I would not give to have that possesion back. We get six and this is our game." FSU would go up 13-3 before allowing a Gator touchdown pass right before the half. From then on it was back and forth all the way. The winning score came on a beautiful 68 yard strike from Heisman hopeful Chris Leak to WR Cornelius. That put UF 38-29. FSU would get a Smith TD run to get to the final margin with just under two to go. With all their timeouts, FSU elected to kick it deep and force a three and out. The D did their part but UF did pick up a first down on the first play. They then held but all the timeouts had been exhausted and set up the final chance.

Game Notes:This game will be airing all week on ESPN Classic
Florida will play LSU for the SEC Championship and hope to keep their title hopes alive.
