I can't believe you got called up so early.
In my career I'm hitting .387 with a good amount of HR's and RBI's and I'm leading AAA in steals and triples and I've only been called up to pinch-run in the majors.

I wonder if it's because the Tigers have Guillen and Inge that I've been kept with the Mudhends.

Probably so. The Braves had pretty much no one at 2B when I started. After the first year they signed someone that was decent and it took me a couple years to get past him, but I still got plenty of starts. The key was making my secondary position just an utility guy (or maybe IF). My first couple year I got way more starts at SS and 3B than I did at my natural position of 2B.

I stole this idea to do a Q&A session from WTF's dynasty page

So anyway, here's an interview by the AJC asking me various questions:

My stats are a little astronomical right now, I'm going to have to do what I did for the second half of last season and increase the difficulty. Last season after the break I was batting .438 and then I increased the difficulty and I ended the year at .401. This season I am .393 at the break so I guess I got used to that difficulty. At the beginning July I started increasing the difficulty again and my average dropped down to about .375 but then I caught fire the last couple games and shot back up. I broke .400 this year for one at-bat during my hot streak in June, then it dropped back down. That's when I decided to increase the difficulty more. I found a perfect setting last season at the end of the year, but I've surpassed it this year. A lot of my games I usually go 2 for 5 in, with occasional 3 or 4 hit games. I rarely ever get a 0-fer day, but I did have a 0-12 stretch at the beginning of July.

Right now I am about to start back the second half of the season with a .393 average, 28 homeruns, and 32 stolen bases. My stolen base percentage was around 76% last time I looked which was probably 15 games ago. When you look at my skill attributes, I am very high on speed and power. My contact isn't quite as high as my power, but it is up there too. I noticed early on I got better hits as I powered up rather than put points into contact. I've now started putting less into power and more into contact and durability. I hardly ever put any points into fielding because you really don't need it very high for a 2B in this game. I'll post my full stats tonight so you can see my RBI totals.

I just got through reading this and it is fantastic.

You've got a great career going so far with the Braves.

                        A couple of questions:

                        1) Do you think that you may opt for free agency and go to another team when the time comes?

                        2) Do you think that you may become "trade bait" and traded to another team?

                        3) Could you please PM me the difficulty that you are playing at and what your slider settings are?

I am getting very interested after reading some RTTS diaries about getting the game and starting one myself (as a pitcher).

Keep up the great work with this.
If you can read this, thank a teacher. If you can read this in english, thank a soldier.

Re: aukevin's MLB 2007 The Show Career mode updates

Thanks for reading I love this mode and I like making up the story write-ups in the EPSN, etc backgrounds

                          1) Do you think that you may opt for free agency and go to another team when the time comes?

I don't know. The way it went after my first contract expired was that at the beginning of the next season, you are given contract offers from a few teams. Last time I had them from Chicago, Texas, and Atlanta. I wanted to stay with Atlanta so I took theirs, even for less money. I'm a big Braves fan, so I'll probably stay there after my current contract (through 2011) ends if I get an offer.

                          2) Do you think that you may become "trade bait" and traded to another team?

My first couple years I was on the trade block a couple times, but I play on the PS2 and unfortunately there is a bug that prevents any transactions from happening during the season. Trades don't happen in the offseason either, so there will be no trades. Just free agent signings is all that shakes up team rosters. If you are on the PSP, it doesn't have the problem.

                          3) Could you please PM me the difficulty that you are playing at and what your slider settings are?

I play on All-star and I'm currently trying to adjust my contact slider to lower my average. It is just so high. I'm conflicted doing it because I hate to force a slump on me when I try really hard to bat for a good average. Right now my contact slider is about 1/4th full with all other sliders at the default. Well except for pitch speed which is about 2 or 3 clicks from the left. I have a hard time judging the break on balls in this game and the slower pitches help a lot. I think now I am going to have to lower the power slider. It has been at the default and I've recently been hitting maybe too many homeruns. I've belted 6 in the two weeks since the All-star break in my current season. But like I said, I have a hard time trying to force a slump upon my player. By just looking at my player's ratings, I think my guy should be hitting between .300 and .320 with 25-30 at the end of the year. So I'm above that, but usually human players get better stats than what the computer would. I'm going to lower the power slider a little more tonight but it's hard to tell what affect it has. One time I lowered it a bit and it felt like I wasn't getting anything behind my hits. They were just balls finding the hole in the defense instead of good hits. Adding power seemed to fix that. I lowered my contact and power at the All-Star break this season and since then I've had two hitless games and one 1-hit game, but the other games I've gotten 2 or more hits in each. My average has actually risen from .393 at the break to .395 after initially dropping down to .380. So it is really hard to judge the sliders. I think it all varies for the person playing. If the computer wanted to get me out everytime, all it has the do is throw low-inside pitches to me I do think for my 5th season I will start the year on HOF level with the default sliders again and see how it goes. That will be my contract year though and I'll need some good stats I think the main reason sliders fluctuate in this mode is because your player gets better in a skill every three games or so because you earn training points you apply to boost up. So at the beginning of my career I had a lot of speed and average contact, but very little power, plate vision, and fielding skill. Now my speed is blazing, my power is higher than my contact, and my fielding is average.

To add one more thing about the sliders, I haven't touched any of the computer related sliders because pretty much all but my single player is the computer in RttS, so they will even out anyway.
