    Thoughts
Going International all out this year. I am going to go hard for Lhota, but Bilas and Penigar are iffy. They both want to play at a big program. Will probably move one of the scholarships over to Murphy. We need rebounding help and I think he can give us that. He is a little undersized though. I've got everyone coming back so I can be a little free thinking this year.

        Coach's Notes
        • Anthony was 4/9 from 3 point range in the first half then disappeared. Romain Martin couldn't hit the red side of a barn in the 2nd half. Cisse got a high ankle sprain halfway through the second half, right before they made a run to take the lead. It doesn't look good.
        • We were breaking their press in the first half no problem. Then the second half happened and we could barely get past half court.
        • I just don't get our team anymore.

            Coach's Notes
            • Losing Ousmane Cisse is huge. We really missed his presence out there. He is out for the remainder of the regular season. Hopefully he will be good enough to go in the conference tourney, if we make it.
            • Julio Anthony has disappeared. Romain takes too many threes. I might put Bobby Catchings back into the starting line up. Might even put Parrish in there too. Something, anything to motivate my guys to win again. I can't be too mad at them tonight though, they did as best they could for being shorthanded. I am surprised we stayed with them for so long to be honest.
            • There's got to be a way to keep the opponents scoring down in the second half.
            • I am concerned about our place in the conference tourney. Seven games left, four of the seven games against teams we haven't played yet, and one of them- Jacksonville St.- is above us in the conference. Our games against them will be key.

              Coach's Notes
              • I am exremely proud of our defense tonight. We worked all week on tightening up our man defense, and it payed off well. We double teamed both Will Ginn and Cortney Bradley to limit their touches. Ginn shot the ball only 8 times but he made the most of them going 6-8 on the night and 3-3 from three point land. Bradley shot the ball only 9 times and had 12 points. Erik Adams and Harold Crow was left to carry the offense and they finished a combined 11-29 from the field and 1-8 from beyond the arc.
              • Justin Brock is Coaches Player of the Game. A career high in rebounds, 5 steals, and 10 points. He was also responsible for keeping the ball out of Bradley's hand.
              • We got a scare in the second half when Jake Byrne sprained his ankle, but it felt ok enough for him to return to the game. The doctor says to rest him for four days. Cisse is still out for about 10 more days.

                Coach's Notes
                • I spread the minutes out well tonight, which greatly benefitted our team. Willhite got the least minutes at 16 and no one had more than 28 minutes. Lots of smiles in the lockerroom afterwards.
                • The team was absolutely deadly from three point range tonight. Martin and Anthony combined to go 10-16 from beyond the arc, and Catchings was even deadlier, going 4-5. All three of my guards were in double figures.
                • Everyone played and everyone scored at least 2 points.
                • I think I've found my team's defense. We went man defense all night long again. We double teamed both Smith and Gulina, leaving the two freshmen alone. Smith hated us by the end of the game as he turned the ball over 10 times.

                  Coach's Notes
                  • Austin Peay plays way better than their record implies. It was an intensely physical, hard fought game at least until we finally started to break down their man defense.
                  • We double teamed Babington and Wright in the first half. It wasn't working, so in the second half we concentrated on only double teaming Babington. He scored 12 in the first half and only 6 in the second half.
                  • Our first lead didn't come until there were 6 minutes left in the game. AP was killing us with their man defense in the first half, but we started breaking it down early in the second. They panicked and switched to different zone defenses off and on.

                    Coach's Notes
                    • Both Brock and Byrne really made a strong case to keep them in the rotation once Cisse becomes healthy. The reality is Cisse isn't going to be quite ready right off the bat and will only gradually get more and more minutes. The situation depends on how far we go after the regular season. Both Brock(10 and 12) and Byrne(15 and 13) had double doubles.
                    • The 'experts' over at ESPN predicted us as a #10 seed going up against #7 seeded College of Charleston in the San Jose bracket. I don't quite know what to think of that other than one loss can change everything about the season.

                      Coach's Notes
                      • Couldn't buy a bucket to start the game. Julio Anthony was obviously distracted by his poor performance in the first half, but rebounded nicely. Wasn't enough.
                      • I made a mistake in starting Cisse immediately back from injury.
                      • We were down by 23 at one point early in the second half and it was really nice to see my players' pride kick in and see them go on a furious comeback. We managed to tie it 81-81 with 1:54 left in the game, but they scored 6 quick points afterwards to keep us out of reach for good.
                      • No sign of us on this weeks ESPN Bracketology report.

                        Coach's Notes
                        • You'd think 20 point leads would hold up.
                        • Romain Martin fouls a power forward taking his first and only three of the game, he makes it, then makes the foul shot. Said power forward has four points total for the game. Martin goes 1-8 from three point land. Martin misses the game winner. Why Julio Anthony didn't take the shot is beyond me.
                        • I could do nothing to stop Erik Adams or that pesky Nick Smith.

                            Coach's Notes
                            • We should get by Tennessee Tech ok, but both Jacksonville and Morehead I am worried about. Morhead might be the 7 seed but we are 0-2 against them in the regular season. That one point loss to Jacksonville is still in the back of my mind.
                            • I don't want to look too far ahead, but if we don't win the conference tourney this year I fully expect us to be in the NIT.

Winning 20 games with a small school is a great achievement. Congrats and good luck in the OVC tourny.
