    West Virginia Wins 43-19
Mountaineers rebound well from loss to Louisville

Cincinnati, OH - The Mountaineers hoped to rebound from their poor performance against the Louisville Cardinals. They did in the form of a 43-19 victory over the Cincinnati Bearcats. "We played inspiored football," stated Pat White following the game. "We went out there, tried our best, executed, and that usually equates to a win." Steve Slaton picked up 196 yards and 3 touchdowns in the game and was named the Player of the Game.

The Mountaineers face off against a surprising 18th ranked Connecticut Huskies team next week, who look to be this year's version of Rutgers.

West Virginia improves to 9-1 (4-1) with the victory.

                        West Virginia Wins Rose Bowl!
Mountianeers Knock off Southern Cal 34-32!

Pasadena, CA - The Mountaineers have secured their second BCS bowl win in 3 years and their third bowl victory in a row with their win over the USC Trojans, who were ranked 5th coming into the Rose Bowl. The Trojans, who were essentially playing at home, were shocked as the Mountaineers gave them all they could handle as they were behind by as much as 13 in the fourth quarter.

"It feels great to do it again [Win a BCS Bowl]," commented West Virginia head coach Rich Rodriguez in a post-game press conference. "We came out and we played our best all year. Unfortunately, that Louisville game cost us the Big East Championship."

The player of the game was Pat White as he threw for 129 yards through the air and ran for another 152 yards. Unfortunately, he threw 3 interceptions in the game. Steve Slaton struggled all game as he only picked up 65 yards on the day. Noel Devine had perhaps his best game of the season as he racked up 106 yards on just 7 carries.

The Rose Bowl win sends West Virginia to 12-1 (6-1) as they close out the season on a very high note.

                              2007 Season in Review

The Mountaineers came into the season hoping for a national championship, and, though they did not achieve this goal, they got a pretty good consolation prize in a victory over USC in the Rose Bowl. Both Pat White and Steve Slaton performed superbly as expected. The offensive line blocked well for both of them. Pat White showed his maturity as a passer as he noticably developed into a better quarterback throughout the season.

After the victory in the Rose Bowl, Rich Rodriguez signed a 3 year extension with West Virginia. After the season, the school's prestige climbed from a 5 star to a 6 star as well.

Now, the question remains. Will Steve Slaton come back next season? Coach Rodriguez is sure to try to lure him back to Morgantown for his senior season.
