Re: West Virginia Mountaineers (NCAA 08)
Great win there SJ in the Rose Bowl. Seeing I work for Citi, glad I could help sponsor the game. LOL!!!! Anyways, good luck on this season. Your schedule might hurt you in the long run though. Uh, who won the National Championship? You have Nebraska winning the game, but you stated Ohio State won the championship.Highheat's O's Franchise

Marshall Thundering Herd (0-0) @ #5 West Virginia Mountianeers (0-0)
Morgantown, WV
Mountianeer Field
September 6th, 2008
Noel Devine Picks up 95 Yards in First Career Start!
Mountianeers win 34-20
Morgantown, WV - The West Virginia Mountaineers opened their 2008 season with a 14 point victory over the Marshall Thundering Herd. Though not a dominating performance, it was a good win over a solid Herd team. The Mountaineer offense struggled at times, but in the end put up 17 points in 1st and 2nd halves. The Mountaineers turned the ball over 4 times in the game, including 2 interceptions and 2 fumbles. Marshall did not turn the ball over the entire game, which kept them in the game through the 4th quarter.
West Virginia improves to 1-0 (0-0). Next Saturday, the Mountianeers play their most anticipated out-of-conference matchup in years, as they host the 22nd ranked Auburn Tigers.

#20 Auburn Tigers (1-0) @ #5 West Virginia Mountianeers (1-0)
Morgantown, WV
Mountaineer Field
September 12th, 2008
West Virginia Falls To Auburn!
Mountaineers lose 34-31
Morgantown, WV - The Auburn Tigers came into the game slight underdogs, but didn't show it in the game, as they controlled most of the game en route to a 34-31 victory. West Virginia runningback Noel Devine was injured midway through the 2nd quarter and would not come baeck in, though he will be available for next week's Southern Mississippi game. West Virginia was held to just 80 rushing yards as Auburn's front line dominated West Virginia's offensive line.
The loss begs the question, is West Virginia really any good? West Virginia did lose to a ranked Auburn team, but the loss was at home. None the less, West Virginia will travel to Mississippi next week to take on the Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles of Conference USA.
West Virginia falls to 1-1 (0-0).
