Thanks, I've been surprised by our good start. That Tampa Bay game was brutal. They were getting pressure to Jake Delhomme and the receiver couldn't get open. It seemed like the defense was making some spectacular plays as well. Hopefully, I won't have a game like that again. I've tried to run the ball more as well, and I think it is working thus far.

Re: The Cardiac Cats
Charlotte, NC - There seems to be a new charm in the locker room of the Carolina Panthers now. The teams seems unified, confident, and humble. They seem ready to win. It is a winning atmosphere. The hiring of new coach and GM James Frizzell has changed the culture of the Carolina Panthers. There seems to be a new hop in their step, one of renewed confidence.
The fans are pleasantly surprised to to see their team tied for the lead of the NFC South at week 6 in the season. After all, this was the same team that was 1-15 not all that long ago. Ericsson Stadium was filled in week 5's win over the New Orleans Saints.
Coach Frizzell says it's too early to be so confident now. "It's so early in the season," he said, "that we cannot be sure of what to expect from here on out. We've been on quite a roll as of late, but if and when we hit a slump, will we be able to survive? I certainly hope so. We certainly have a good team, but I don't want our fan to be getting too overconfident so soon."
The defense has stepped up so far this season as well. Though they are allowing 22.6 points per game, the defense has only allowed 17.3 points per game in the last 3 matchups, all of which were wins. "The defense has stepped up," commented Coach Frizzell. "We've mixed up our schemes and it has worked so far. A great team needs a great defense, and I'd say we have a pretty darn good defense."
So, will the Panthers continue this roll? That remains to be seen, but if they can maintain this roll, they may be looking at their first playoff appearance since 1995.Comment

Charlotte, NC - This game was all about defense as both offenses were horrid in this battle of field goals. The Titans barely escaped the Panthers, whose defense was good as it has been the last few weeks. The problem was, the offense was plain awful. Jake Delhomme, who threw 2 interceptions in the game, was largely ineffective, as was the rest of the offense.
The only scoring in the 1st half was 1 field goal for each team. In the 4th, Tennessee added the game-deciding field goal with just under 9 minutes left to close out the scoring.
The Panthers fall to 4-2 with the loss and end their 3 game winning streak.

New Orleans, LA - The Carolina Panthers recorded the high scoring game in franchise history as well as the largest margin of victory in franchise history in this one as they absolutely dominated the New Orleans Saints in the Superdome. The Score was a shocking 53-3 score, a victory by a 50 point margin, which shatters all other Panthers records.
Deon Grant recorded an NFL record 4 interceptions in the game as Saints' quarterback Aaron Brooks threw a career high 7 interceptions. He had a passer rating of 5.6 for the game. The Saints in all committed 9 turnovers, most of those in the 2nd half. "We kept on giving the ball to them," commented wide receiver Joe Horn. And indeed they did. For 4 consecutive possessions in the 2nd half, the Saints turned it over inside their own 20 leading to easy scores for the Panthers.
The Panthers only generated 335 yards of total offense in the game, but the immense amount of turnovers committed by Aaron Brooks and the Saints gave the Panthers very short field position, which in turn gave the Panthers an amazing 50 point victory.

Re: The Cardiac Cats
Huge win, well done. I think we may see Brooks go the way his real-life version did.Comment

Re: The Cardiac Cats
Yeah, I just hope they don't bring in Drew Brees and his vaunted passing attack in the game. That could get scary. I'd rather have Brooks than Brees to face.Comment

Re: The Cardiac Cats
Eh, I am having some trouble with my disk. I've cleaned it and stuff and it won't work. I guess that's what you get with a 4 and a half year old game. Hmm, I may start up an NFL 2K5 dynasty now. If I can get the disk to work, I'll go back to this, but as of now, I cannot.Comment
