November 18 isn't really an off-day for the Paradise Jam tournament. That is the date of the next game should you defeat Monmouth in ND's opening game of the tournament.

In "real life" Notre Dame easily defeated Monmouth and faced Baylor on the 18th.

Even though I'm an alum (sounds weird since I'm 23) I can't say good luck. I can't stand Irish basketball.

I hope you get some athletes in there and change the program around! I'm baffled by their real life success.

On a side note I was watching an ND game and they said Harangody was 9% bodyfat, down from 14% last year.

I'm 13% bodyfat and Harangody is 18-20%, in my opinion (which is definitely more accurate than the stupid announcers). On there scale I'm 5%. That was ridiculous. I'm obsessed with health stuff so that "chit chat" really struck a nerve with me. I'm sure most didn't even recognize it.

Basically 9% bodyfat means you're ripped. Harangody is a white, less athletic, not nearly good, no post moves version of a poor man's Sean May.

I probably gave him too much credit.

He is no poor mans anything, he just might me the Big East player of the year as a Soph.
He is ave. 21 ppg and 10.5 rpg, the guy has some serious game downlow.

Recap

The season started off on a positive note with a 72-51 home victory over the Long Island Blackbirds. The Blackbirds fought hard, but in the end could not keep up with the Irish. The Blackbirds only shot 36% from the field, while the Irish shot 45%. The big difference came on the boards, where Notre Dame dominated, winning the battle 41-26. Luke Harangody led the team in scoring with 19 points, and also added 13 rebounds. Kyle McAlarney and Rob Kurz also scored 14 points each.

Even with the victory, Coach Mike Brey said there were many things his team could improve on. "Being the first game of the season, there is still a lot we need to get better at," he said. "I thought we took too many quick and contested shots when we could have worked the ball around for easier ones."

The Irish will now travel to the Virgin Islands to participate in the Paradise Jam Tournament, with their first opponent being Monmouth on November 16th.
