    Good luck vs. Vick!

QB spy, corner blitzing, and some cover 2 schemes should keep him at bay.

Thanks. He took off a few times but once I built a lead, he tried to pass to get Atlanta back in it.

CONFERENCE PLAYOFFS: Philadelphia (12-4) at San Francisco (14-2)
One game to get to before the Super Bowl. One obstacle. One chance. One opportunity. Would the 49ers seize it or just let it slip away?

      1st Quarter
The game started in the 49ers hands. Their opening drive went 10 plays and 69 yards. It ended when Barlow took the ball into the endzone from the 3. Philadelphia's offense struggled to produce. Late in the quarter, FB Phillip Crosby added a 1 yard score to give the Niners a 14-0 lead.

      2nd Quarter
A 39-yard field goal by Akers made it 14-3. On the 49ers first play, Crosby caught a catch from Wallace but at the 30 got nailed and fumbled it to Philadelphia. This led to a 45-yard field goal from Akers. That wasn't the last of it. Again, on the first play of the Niners next drive, Barlow laid the ball on the ground at the 34 and six plays later, Akers hit a 27-yarder to make it 14-9. They left two minutes, however, and San Francisco effectively ran the two-minute drill. In the end, Barlow found himself getting another touchdown on a 5-yard run and the 49ers took a 21-9 lead at halftime.

      3rd Quarter
Philadelphia's defense buckled down in the third quarter and held San Francisco's offense at bay. Halfway through the quarter, Drew Jones returned a punt to the 24 yard line. The Philly D kept up, though, and forced the Niners to settle for a 24-9 score after a 38-yard Chandler field goal.

      4th Quarter
Another 33-yard field goal made it 27-9. It was too little too late, but the Eagles also went out with heart. From the San Francisco 25, McNabb lofted a beautiful pass to Freddie Mitchell for the touchdown and then rifled one to Pinkston for the two-point conversion. The onside failed, and the Niner had themselves a ticket to the Super Bowl!

FINAL: 49ers are going to the Big Show with a 27-17 win!

      Player of the Game
LE Andrew Williams - 7 tackles, sack, FF

      Key Performances
      QB Seneca Wallace - 71.3, 17/25, 175 yards, 0 TD, INT
RB Kevan Barlow - 22 att, 66 yards, 2 TD

      AFC CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP

      Miami - 7

SUPER BOWL XLI: San Diego (12-4) vs San Francisco (14-2)
It was in Miami, FL and the weather was football weather - rain. This was a rematch of Week 13 that ended up more like a rematch of 1994.

            1st Quarter
The 49ers received the kickoff and they held onto the ball for 14-plays and 8:03. This was due to Wallace completing a couple of big third down passes as well as Barlow breaking free on 3rd & 4 for a six yard run. The drive ended with a 6 yard pass to Randle El. San Diego tried to mimick the 49ers drive but had to go for a field goal from the SF 32. The 49-yard attempt from Christie fell short.

            2nd Quarter
After Chandler added a 26-yard field goal, things got bad for the Chargers. On their second play of the drive, Tomlinson fumbled after being hit by LE Andrew Williams. Williams then had the awareness to recover the fumble and not only that, but he turned around and high-tailed it 31-yards into the endzone to put San Francisco on top 17-0. San Diego made it to the 31 yard line of SF this time, and again opted to go with Christie. Bad move as the ball hit the crossbar and bounced back into the endzone. The Niners completed two medium passes and a short pass to set up Chandler's 22-yarder with no time left in the half to make it 20-0.

            3rd Quarter
The Chargers struggles continued on the opening kickoff when the returner fumbled the ball at the 24 and Mike Rumph recovered it. Following a sack and a holding call, the Niners tried a 47-yard field goal and Chandler came up short. This gave San Diego a little momentum as they went down the field to the 15 before Drew Brees hit Zachary Clinton in the back of the endzone. The replay clearly showed that he only had one foot in bounds, but when Erickson tried to challenge, the referees would not let him. It was 20-7, Niners. San Francisco answered with a short drive resulting in a touchdown following a 6-yard reception by Brandon Lloyd and their lead was extended to 27-7. At the end of the quarter, MLB Brandon Moore intercepted Drew Brees at the SD 14.

            4th Quarter
The interception led to a 23-yard field goal by Chandler and it was 30-7. After the Chargers had to punt, the 49ers and Barlow tacked on another score with a 7-yard run from the RB and it was 37-7. Apparently San Diego couldn't see the scoreboard, because with 15 seconds left they were scrambling around like they were going to make a comeback after Brees found TE Justin Peelle for the 2 yard score. Following a failed onside kick, Erickson let them know where they stood, however, having Wallace drop back and fire a twenty yard pass to Eric Johnson to set up a 36-yard field goal by Chandler as time expired.

FINAL: San Francisco becomes 7-0 all-time in the Super Bowl with 40-14 win!

            Super Bowl MVP
            QB Seneca Wallace - 127.7, 23/29, 265 yards, 2 TD

            Key Performances
RB Kevan Barlow - 28 att, 44 yards, TD
WR Antwaan Randle El - 5 rec, 81 yards, TD
WR Brandon Lloyd - 5 rec, 70 yards, TD
LE Andrew Williams - Tackle, FF, FR, Def TD
