    Montreal Goes Pacific

    @

Montreal visits the Pacific in a match against the Padres. Giles stands out as an EXTREMELY early MVP candidate, while Brad Wilkerson does his thing for Montreal.

Speaking of Giles, he hit another homerun early in this game that set the tone. In the meanwhile, the elder David Wells pitched another superb game, shutting down the Expos in a complete game. Offense was by no means scarce, and the Padres won this game by a count of 6-0

    W - Wells (4-0) CG, 0Ks, 2 hits
    L - Vargas (1-2)

    Giles 2-4 HR(9)
    Long 1-4, triple
    Greene 2-3, double

    Vidro 1-4
    Johnson 1-2 double

Wow, that's Anti-Giles right there, usually he gets off to a cold start.

Then again, he was hot right out the gate for my team. Keep it up.

In the second meeting, Brian Lawrence took on Livan Hernendez, a pretty fine pitching matchup. Lawrence got down early, but the Padres tied the game at 2 in the 2nd inning. The Expos kept putting runs on the board, and the Padres would slowly come back. In the 9th however, they could not make a last rally, and the Expositions win 6-5

            W - Hernendez (3-1)
            L - Lawrence (2-2)
            S - Biddle (3)

            Calloway 1-3, RBI
            Everett 2-5
            Vidro 2-5, double

            Long 3-3, 2 runs, triple
            Loretta 1-3, 2RBI, double
            Greene 1-3, double

With the sudden shakeup of the teams immediate future with Phil Nevin's ACL Tear, we have expressed that would like to move Nevin before the trade deadline, this season. Also, we are willing to throw in Ryan Klesko or Jay Payton so that the beneficiary will have instant gratification.

Talks have been made with the Brewers about Geoff Jenkins.

                  Geoff Jenkins aka Sir Strikeoutalot?

Hmmm.. I think you could get a LOT better for Nevin and Klesko/Payton
