        #5 Florida @ #22 LSU

The strong squad of the University of Florida traveled to the Bayou in hopes of taking down the struggling Tigers.

In the early going, it looked as if Louisiana State fans would be celebrating after an upset of the Gators. The Tigers were really putting it to Florida, and found themselves up by 16 points at one time. Before long, though, Roberson, Walsh, and Lee led their team out of the depths of suckyness back into the game. Going into the half, it was a 1 point ballgame.

The second half was back and forth the whole way through. To start it out, the Gators looked good.. really good. Roberson went OFF, leading his team to an 11 point lead. However, Tack Minor led his team right back, and after the lead change, the Tigers were up by six. The Gators battled back, and with only 38 seconds left, were up by five over LSU. Minor got the ball, and quickly hit a jumper with 24 ticks left. After fouling, a Gator player missed the front end of a one and one, giving LSU another chance. Koundjia took the ball to the hoop HARD, and drew the foul while making the dunk. After making the free throw, the game was tied with 8 seconds left. The desperation three failed by Roberson, and the game was sent to overtime.

In the extra period, the Gators proved why they were ranked 5th in the land. They quickly pulled away from the Tigers, and beat LSU, 91-84.

        Players Of The Game
        LSU - Tack Minor - 18 points, 14 assists, 11 rebounds
        UF - Anthony Roberson - 37 points, 13 assists

        LSU
        Koundjia - 18 points, 5 steals, 4 rebounds
        Bass - 15 points, 11 rebounds

        UF
        Brewer - 21 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists
        Walsh - 19 points, 5 assists

            Recruiting Update

As before mentioned, the LSU Tigers were interested in signing SF prep star Seamus McKee. However, no matter how many time is spent at his house or scouting his games, the fact that he wants to stay close to home (Cali) is holding LSU back from moving up on his list of schools. As a result, the Tigers have decided to drop out of the war for McKee, and are currently heavily recruiting other preps.

                #14 Alabama @ LSU

The Alabama Crimson Tide, who handed the Tigers a loss in their first matchup this season, traveled to the Bayou in search of another conference victory.

The first half was completely dominated by the backcourt of the Tigers, as Tack Minor, Antonio Hudson, and Regis Koundjia all had success on the offensive side of the ball. Brandon Bass wasn't as involved as the LSU coaching staff had hoped he would be, but it didn't seem to hurt the Tigers any. Going into the half, it was all Tigers.

Later on in the game, 'Bama made a few comeback attempts. A couple of these were successful, and the Tide actually managed to take a small lead at one point. However, the backcourt of LSU was just too much, and the Tigers pulled off the upset, 73-66.

                Players Of The Game
                LSU - Antonio Hudson - 20 points, 2-4 3PT FG
                ALA - Earnest Shelton - 24 points, 4 assists

                LSU
                Bass - 18 points, 11 rebounds
                Koundjia - 17 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists
                Minor - 11 points, 16 assists

                ALA
                Winston - 18 points, 3 assists, 3 steals
                Steele - 13 points, 11 assists, 7 rebounds

I owned Auburn and LSU owned me, so you should be able to beat Auburn.

                        LSU @ Auburn

The LSU Tigers bobbed and weaved through the "War Eagle" signs in Alabama to take on the other Tigers of Auburn.

Without the humungous statlines produced by the LSU lineup, newspaper reporters would not have made any money from the articles after the 86-69 blowout over Auburn University.
