    Re: LSU Bayou Bengals (CH2K5)

    Arkansas vs #23 LSU

The Razorbacks of Arkansas and the LSU Tigers were pitted against each other in the second round of the SEC Tournament. The two were set to due battle in Atlanta, Georgia.

From a very early stage, the Tigers seized control of the momentum. Tack Minor came out of the gate firing, and hit 4 three pointers within the first few minutes. However, his surge was temporarily haulted by two quick fouls. The other LSU starters picked it up in Minor's absense, and held a comfortable 7 point lead going into the half.

The second half was much of the same, as the Tigers never gave Arkansas a legitimate shot to come back. Jonathon Modica did his best Michael Jordan impression, flying high and scoring many, many points. However, it just wasn't enough, and the Tigers put away the Hogs, 92-84.

    Players Of The Game
    LSU - Brandon Bass - 25 points, 6 rebounds, 7 steals
    ARK - Jonathon Modica - 48 points, 4 rebounds

    LSU
    Minor - 20 points, 5-7 3PT FG, 7 assists
    Hudson - 20 points, 4 rebounds
    Koundjia - 11 points, 10 rebounds

    ARK
    Brewer - 7 points, 8 assists, 4 rebounds

      SEC Tournament Update

The Kentucky Wildcats put away the Georgia Bulldogs, easily, by the score of 85-64. The 'Cats now take on the LSU Tigers in the semi-finals of the SEC Tournament.

"They're a good team," started Kentucky coach Tubby Smith. "They're very athletic and can give us some problems. They've beat us once this year, hopefully we can get 'em back."

The Wildcats were hoping to spoil LSU's SEC Championship hopes by upsetting them in the semi-finals.

The first half was all LSU. Kentucky could not seem to hit from anywhere on the floor, and couldn't seem to stop the Tigers from hitting from anywhere they wanted. Brandon Bass had an absolute field day, scoring 18 points in the first period. Going into the intermission, the Tigers were up big, leading the Wildcats by 12.

After the amusing halftime show put on by the LSU cheerleaders, the Tigers went right back at it. Bass continued to cause problems for the 'Cats, and was unstoppable in the paint. In the end, the Tigers were just too much for Kentucky, beating down the 'Cats 89-78.

              Players Of The Game
              LSU - Brandon Bass - 44 points, 7 rebounds
              UK - Patrick Sparks - 28 points, 6-11 3PT FG, 8 assists

              LSU
              Minor - 15 points, 11 assists, 5 rebounds
              Mitchell - 11 points, 3 assists

              UK
              Morris - 17 points, 9 rebounds
              Crawford - 15 points, 3 assists

                          #23 LSU vs #4 Florida

The Louisiana State Tigers showed up early to pregame workouts, in hopes of winning the SEC Championship against the Florida Gators.

LSU came out strong in the first half, and showed the emotion you'd expect to see in a championship game. Antonio Hudson emerged as the pure scorer he is, and provided a type of leadership coaches dream about. Hudson and Anthony Roberson of Florida battled back and forth, but Hudson had a better supporting cast. Going into the half, the Tigers were up by 8.

The second half was very similar, and Roberson continued to tear apart the LSU defense. Whether the opposition was in a 2-3, 3-2, man-to-man, box and 1, or had their entire roster and coaching staff on the floor, Roberson made shots most only dream about dreaming about. Tack Minor came out strong in the second period, hitting clutch shot after clutch shot to keep his team in the ballgame. After an intense final minute of regulation - a minute in which Roberson fouled out and Antonio Hudson went ice cold - the two teams found themselves tied, and were going into overtime for the second time this season.

In the extra session, LSU dominated. After trading baskets to begin OT, the Bayou Bengals pulled away, and won the SEC Championship, 79-74.
