Re: Gopher Nation - NCAA 11
My offense is a lot better than I thought it would be, but these games vs. Miami (OH) and SJSU were cakewalks. They were both rated D+'s overall where I'm rated at a B+ overall. The USC game I felt I got lucky, and BC wasn't as good as I thought they would be when I scheduled them.
I have Indiana then #5 Wisconsin at home in Week 7. That's the game where I know where I stand. My D-line has been really good sans the USC game where I had to go shotgun all game to not get sacked.
Da Jon McKnight catches everything I swear, I've made quite a few bad throws against these lower-rated teams that should have been picked, but they just aren't very good. I got Indiana, and I expect that to be tough since my last 3 were at home. I'm going to be experiencing a huge fall-off next year though because I have a ton of my good players leaving, my top 3 receivers, almost my whole front 4, and both of my TE's. I'm going to try to do a write-up on the recruits about half-way through the season.Comment

Yeah the 9 TD's are great, McKnight only has 7 and he's been a beast, can't imagine how well Shoemaker is doing. Aaron Murray's 21 TD's are insane.Comment

Week 6 - @ Indiana
Gophers Hang On For Another Big Win
The Gophers took another big lead going into halftime against the Hoosiers this week highlighted by Da Jon McKnight's 3 touchdowns. The Hoosiers came back and made it a game rallying behind some Gopher turnovers, they have to play a full game if they want to beat Wisconsin next week who no doubt will be looking to get back on track after losing to Michigan.
Next up is Wisconsin, and the Gophers have built themselves all the way to be ranked #7 in the country.

Week 7 - vs. Wisconsin
Gophers Roll And Capture Paul Bunyan's Axe Two Years In a Row
I'm not quite sure I can explain the Golden Gophers' dominance the last couple of weeks, but guys, this team is for real. Wisconsin, coming off a huge loss from Michigan, looked to be lethargic. They couldn't get anything going and only mustered up a measly 17 points. I must say that I'm surprised at how well this Gophers team can move the ball. Da Jon McKnight has the ability to always find an opening in the defense through the middle, and on the sidelines Troy Stoudermire can run past anyone. Duane Bennett can run the ball effectively, and timely turnovers have made this Gophers team ranked #3 in the nation.
It doesn't get any easier from here, they are 6-0, but they still have a tough schedule left. They travel to play the Ohio State Buckeyes next week, who aren't even ranked and boast a 2-3 record, but can never be underestimated. The Gophers must come ready to play if they want to win.

GOPHER RECRUITING UPDATE
The Gophers had their biggest week this week recruiting wise after bringing in 12 recruits for a visit, and landing 8 of the potential recruits despite not always being the highest on their lists. They were able to land 3 of the top 12 TE's in the class who look to get into action immediately next year. The Gophers are actively pursuing about 4-5 more kids, and then they should be done for the year until the off-season recruiting period starts.

A Note
So, I realized why I was winning these games so easily, and it's because my sliders were messed up because I was playing around with them in a different mode, but for some reason, they transferred over to my Gopher dynasty here. I was wondering why it was so easy, but I have recently corrected them and I plan to play the Ohio State game soon.
Also, since the Gophers just hired Jerry Kill from NIU as our new head coach, I'm thinking of introducing him as the new coach in this dynasty on the 1st page. I threw up the 1st two schedules on the first post, and I plan to continue to update it, and I'm going to be adding awards, more history and such. I'm trying to approach this with more realism since there's no way that the Gophers would be ranked #3 in the nation after just a year and a half, so I'm hoping that re-adjusting the sliders will give me more competitive games. If there is any criticism, or some way I can make the re-caps of the league, or any sort of suggestions to make it more enjoyable to read that'd be awesome. Is it better if I keep the game re-caps short and sweet or if I put a little bit more time into it. How about seeing the scores of the Top 25 games?
Thanks for reading guys, and I hope I can continue to make this one better.Comment

Re: A Note
Typically what I do is try and pick out 3 or 4 key Top-25 Matchups to spotlight then try and post maybe a score from some teams that I know people follow (like Boise State)as well as the rest of my conference (Pac-10) yours being (Big Ten)
I really like your layout though and just remember, we are just happy to have something to read especially me when I am at work for 11 hours.
As far as Sliders and Minnesota not being #3 in the Nation. You have to understand this is your dynasty, you can play it how you want. I have gotten my sliders adjusted to the point, I have a pretty challenging game every week, yet I still got WSU to a National Championship and that would never happen in real life LOL. However with pretty much my Entire Offense graduated, I have a feeling we will be lucky to finish in the Top-25.Comment

I don't want to just re-tell the story that you can read in the box score, so I'll try to point out some different things in my re-caps. I like the idea of doing big games or upsets, and looking at the Big Ten scores. It's just boring to read a dynasty that ALWAYS wins in blowouts, so I'm trying to adjust sliders.
I'm going to be adding a lot of history and stuff on the first post, so check it out in a couple of days.Comment

Re: Gopher Nation - NCAA 11
I have updated the first post with new information about the coach, history of Brewster, and schedule updates.
As for this dynasty, I'm getting bogged down with a lot of school work and I've been having internet issues. I played the Ohio State game, and I'm going to hopefully be able to update soon here. If you want to me to make a recruit for you, send me a PM with the following info:
Name:
Hometown/State:
Handedness:
Position:
Height:
Weight:
Skin:
Body Build:
Gear:
If anyone has any ideas of how to improve the dynasty, that'd be appreciated also. Thanks for reading.Comment
