Season 1, St. Mary Varsity Game

    September 11, 2009

Coach Patterson was giving us his usual pre-game speech, but I was too preoccupied to listen.

I could be the first freshman to get time on a team coached by Blake Patterson. He didn't usually have freshman, or even sophomores, play significant time on Varsity, except in blow out wins.

"Now let's go out there and win this!" Coach Patterson shouted.

"Whoo!" Everyone seemed to yell at the same time.

We quickly got on the board, with a touchdown pass to Kobe Anderson from Teddy Fritz.

The rest of the first quarter we dominated, ending it with a score of 21-0.

"Street! You're gonna play some nickel corner. Got it?" Coach Patterson asked me.

"Yes coach!" I said to him, running onto the field.

I was in for about ten plays on defense. I got a pass breakup, two tackles, and no passes completed to the slot receiver.

At halftime, this game seems pretty done with a score 35-7. Washington has been unstoppable on offense, and their defense has played very good.

"Good job out there..." Coach Patterson was giving us a halftime speech, not that we needed it, as we had the game pretty much in hand.

Heading into the fourth quarter, Washington leads 49-21.

"Time to sit Teddy?" Coach Taylor asked Coach Patterson.

"I guess, but who for?" Coach Patterson asked Coach Taylor.

    "Tyler Reaves?"

"He's still being evaluated for a concussion."

    "Timmy Weston?"

"I feel like he's too good to put in there."

    "Aaron Street?"

"That'll have to do, he'll just be handing the ball off anyway."

"Aaron Street!" Coach Patterson called me over.

"You're gonna go in at quarterback."

"Yes coach." I said, feeling ready to take this opportunity.

I was in with a lot of junior varsity and freshman players.

I was just handing it off to the running back every play, but then I got the hand signal from coach.

    Play Action!

I faked it to Cameron Graham, and looked downfield.

Brandon Striker had ten yards on his man.

    I threw it down field.

    He caught it.

    Touchdown!

Washington Wildcats continue to prove their dominance with yet another blowout win. If you are a Wildcat fan, you have to be awfully proud of this team's last two performances. This ties last week's record of the biggest victory by the Wildcats. Your player of the game is Junior running back Chris Peterson, who burst onto the radar with his 79 yard touchdown run. Peterson is being compared to LeSean McCoy, with his ability to make plays out of nothing. Unfortunately for the Wildcats senior quarterback Teddy Fritz threw two interceptions. And the freshman who could, Aaron Street, got a touchdown. It was another great win for the Wildcats. The one downfall is Tyler Reaves has suffered a concussion.

      Waashington Recruiting Highlight(s):

      Chris Peterson

The junior running back keeps showing us why he was brought up to varsity when he was only a sophomore. His speed, and big play ability is the best I have seen in a long time. Peterson is getting increased colleges viewing him, and is currently the second ranked running back in the division, only behind Rockville's Opeyemi "Smash" Idowu.

      Jamaal Hall

The senior tight end has finally become a part of this offense. This is his first year playing football, as he used to be a basketball player. He has great hands, and is one of the fastest players out there especially for his size. The tight end is getting increased interest from colleges, both for football and basketball.

        Season 1, You Again?

        September 12, 2009

"Are you gonna play on the freshman team this week?" Brandon Striker asked me.

Me and Brandon Striker were in his driveway shooting some hoops, just for fun.

"I hope." I said, I liked being on junior varsity and playing for varsity, but I loved playing quarterback.

"I hope so. I'm not so sure about Cole Samples." Brandon Striker said.

"I think he just doesn't have chemistry with anyone." I said, from what I saw of Cole Samples I liked.

"Yeah, I guess." Brandon Striker said seeing my point.

        Then I got an idea.

"Why don't we hang out with him? To build the chemistry." I said.

        "Sounds great." Brandon Striker replied.

"I'll get the guys together." I said pulling out my phone.

Me and Brandon met up with Jimmy King, Johnny Patterson, and Cole Samples at the stadium.

"Hey guys, thanks for coming." I said seeing everyone was there.

"What's this about?" Cole Samples asked, obviously confused.

        "We're gonna scrimmage." Brandon said.

"But there's only five of us." Cole Samples retorted.

"Two on two, with you being all time quarterback." I said, explaining the rules to him.

        "Okay, teams?" Cole Samples asked.

"Me and Jimmy, Brandon and Johnny." I said, giving each team someone who played receiver and someone who played running back.

Jimmy King played tight end for the freshman team.

We scrimmaged and fooled around and had fun for about two and a half hours, before we decided it was too dark.

"That was really fun guys." Cole Samples aid, he was obviously having fun and he was actually a really cool guy.

        "Told you." Brandon Striker said.

We all were walking home together and started talking.

"Does anyone have their phone, so we can get a ride?" I asked, I had left mine at home so I didn't break it.

        "Nope." Was the general consensus.

We continued the walk, and had to walk a lot more.

Until I saw a car, the driver looked at me and I knew who it was.

It was the dude who yelled at me after the football game.

He stopped the car and pulled out a gun.

"Get in the F***ing car!" He yelled at us.

He had a friend, also equipped with a gun in the passenger seat, so we had to all squeeze into the backseat.

"Let's see if we can get Riley to give us the money." He smiled, as he said to his friend in the passenger seat.

"Just-" I protested, before he cut me off.

"Shut the f*** up!" He yelled.

        'S***' I thought to myself.

How were we going to get out of this?

          Season 1, What To Do?

The man took us out of his car, and bound all our wrists together.

"Let them go." I pleaded to him.

"Shut the f*** up!" He yelled.

"Jut shut up, we need the money he owes us." He added on.

"My name is Darren, by the way." He added on, then walked away.

We were in an abandoned house of sorts, and were all up against a wall.

"Who the hell is that?" Cole Samples asked.

"I don't know, someone who knew my brother. I guess he owes them some money."

A few hours went by before he came back.

"You should be glad." He said glaring at me.

"For what?" I asked, showing deep anger in my voice.

"There are others who want your brother, and his money." Darren said.

          "So!" I yelled at him.

"They would kill you, and him." Darren said, before leaving.

'S***!' I thought to myself. We were screwed, we had no way of getting out, and no way of contacting anyone. I had gotten them into this, and I was sure as h*** going to get them out of it.

A few more hours passed before Darren emerged again.

"Do you know where your brother is?" Darren asked.

          "No." I said.

"See, that's not very convincing." He said.

"Maybe you need to be persuaded." He said, walking towards us.

He pulled out his gun and pointed it at Johnny.

He shot it at his leg.

"F***, holy s***!" Johnny yelled as the bullet went straight into his leg.

"Ahhhhhhh!" He screamed out in pain.

"Now, I'm gonna give you some time to think." Darren said leaving.

It had been a couple minutes, and then we heard the door crash.

          And people were shouting.

Darren ran up and started kicking me.

          "Tell me!" He was screaming.

He was only attacking me for about one minute, but it felt like forever.

          I blacked out.

"Hey there." Alexis said to me as I woke up.

          I woke up in a...

                Season 1, Where am I?

"Hey there." Alexis said to me as I woke up.

I was groggy, had a really bad headache, and my body was sore all over.

"Where..." I paused, unable to speak. "Where am I?" I asked, looking around.

"You're at the hospital." She said, trying to make her voice comfort me.

"How, Why, When...?" I went on confused. I kept going on until I felt a sharp pain in the back of my head.

"Ahhh!" I yelled out. I could feel Alexis look at me concerned, and I heard nurses running down the hallways.

"You okay Aaron?" Alexis asked, backing away. She was scared, and I couldn't even talk enough to let her know I would be fine.

It took a while, but finally the pain in the back of my head stopped. The nurse then took a while to explain to me what happened, and how much longer I needed to be in the hospital.

I had a concussion, nothing serious, I just might not be able to play football for a week or two. I had serious bruising, not much else. The bruising was nothing serious, I would just be sore for a while. And last but not least, I had a broken arm. It was my left arm, so I could do basic things.

"That explains the pain..." I said, giving Alexis a slight smile.

She was silent for a while then said something that troubled me deeply.

"How's Johnny?" She asked obviously upset.

"What do you mean?" I asked. I was confused, turns out my concussion gave me temporary memory loss.

"You don't remember?" She asked me.

                "Remember what?"

"He was... shot." She said. She was very distraught.

                "What!" I yelled shocked.

I got the nurse and requested to go see Johnny. She allowed it and he was asleep. She left and left me in his room.

                "Johnny?" I said to him.

                "Yes..." He said waking up.

"Are you okay man?" I asked.

"Yeah, just can't walk for a while. The muscle needs rehab, I won't be able to play for a while."

                "That sucks."

                "Yeah."

"How long til you get out of here?"

"Two or three days, but I'll need physical rehab."

"Same with the two days, but no rehab, until my arm fully heals."

                "You broke it?"

"Yep. Well I'm going to leave you to get some sleep."

                "Okay."

I walked back to my room, feeling a lot of pain in my right leg every time I took a step.

Then I got back to my room, and there was a surprise waiting for me.

As I walked into my room there were four eyes on me, both Alexis and Madison were waiting for me in my room.

"So..." Alexis and Madison said in unison.

Unfortunately I'm not sure. I may have set that up to go in the complete wrong way. Crap, I'll update tomorrow night and clear everything up. Lol.

                      Season 1, Repercussions

                      September 14, 2009

It had only been a day, but I had been asked to go home from the hospital. It was mainly because I was healing faster than expected, but also because me and Johnny may have had a bit too much fun. Apparently wheelchair racing is illegal in some hospitals.

"Hey Evan." I said coming through the front door, seeing Coach Smith sitting on the couch.

"You're home early." He said in a questioning manner.

"Yeah, I got kicked out." I said with a grin.

"Ha. Well tell me if you need anything. I'm gonna try and help figure out the freshman lineup with both you and Johnny out. Anything else happen?" He asked.

"No." I said, completely glancing over the part where both Alexis and Madison showed up, and then demanded that I pick one of them by the next varsity game.

"Okay." He said going back to his iPad.

It was Monday, but I wasn't able to go back to school for a day or two.

Later that day Johnny came over, and told me that he was able to leave early. He still wasn't able to walk by himself, but now he only needed crutches. He told me how he just would need physical therapy everyday for a while.

"What was all that talking in your room last night?" He asked taking a seat.

"Alexis and Madison showed up." I said giving him a look, and seeing his reaction.

"Oh." He said, instantly understanding what had happened.

"When do you have to choose by?" He asked after a brief silence.

"This Friday, four days." I said.

"Who you going to choose?" He asked.

                      "I have no f***ing clue." I said.

                      -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And the Washington Wildcats Junior Varsity team has tied Rockville 21-21.

                      *************************

Hopefully that cleared up any confusion about what was going to happen. lol.

Expect another update or two this weekend.

Season 1, Who's it gonna be?

                              September 18, 2009

The rest of the week went relatively normal. We lost the freshman game by 7, the final score was 28-21.

Johnny still needed his crutches to walk.

I still had a broken arm, but that was really my only injury remaining. As my concussion had faded away.

But today was an important one, our varsity team played Rockville, and I had to choose between Madison and Alexis.

I walked into school and immediately walked over to Johnny.

                              "Hey man." I said.

                              "Hey." He said, obviously distracted.

                              "What's wrong?" I asked.

"My leg may keep me out for the rest of the season, the doctors said it was worse than initially thought."

That news hit me like a brick, not only would he be out, which was bad for the team, but it was all my fault.

The day went by slow, and my teachers patience wore down fast. I couldn't pay attention, I had one of the most important decisions of my life coming up. At least fifteen year old me thought.

But then it was gametime, and Coach Patterson had called me over.

"Yes coach?" I said, wondering what he needed.

"I want you to look at the defensive coverage and inform me of everything you see. Okay?" He asked.

"Yes sir." I said taking a seat on the bench, grabbing a clipboard.

It took me about two possessions to realize what they were doing:
They were playing with two high safeties, but never keeping them in deep coverage, they would blitz or go in hook zones, but never deep zones.

The final score is Washington Wildcats 38, Rockville Eagles 35.

"Thanks for that info Aaron." Coach Patterson said after the game.

                              "No problem." I said.

I walked away from the stadium, I had been the last one there. I didn't want to choose.

I walked into the cafe, where we had decided to go for the choice.

"Who's it going to be?" Alexis asked.

"Can I ask you both a question?" I asked, needing some answers.

"Sure." They both looked at each other and said.

"Madison. Why did you say no to me for homecoming?" I asked, still feeling hurt by her answer to that.

"I don't know... I just felt like we were moving too fast, and my parents don't know you yet, and I just didn't want to lead you on if nothing was going to happen." She said, looking at me in a way that I truly understood what she said.

"I'm sorry Alexis, but my choice is made." I said, hoping she wouldn't take it badly.

"Oh, okay." She said, she quickly gathered her things and left.

Madison and I talked for a while, but then I took a chance. We started to walk to her house, and when we got to her door:

"Madison, will you go to homecoming with me?" I asked.

"Yes, yes!" She screamed with Glee.

                              We embraced and then kissed.

Well one of my problems was solved, but I still couldn't play football.

                                Also sorry this was late.

On Wednesday I had to help a friend.

And Thursday was Thanksgiving, so I didn't have a lot of time.
