    Season 1, Guess Who's Back

    September 23, 2009

My concussion was fully gone, and my arm was better. However Coach Smith found a way to play, we just needed to get a certain type of cast.

The junior varsity game, we lost 42-45, on a last second field goal. It was a sixty yarder, their kicker had an incredible leg.

But today was Wednesday, and it was also the day of the Freshman game against KingsWood.

And more importantly, it was the day I could play football again.

I met up with Madison before I went into the locker room.

    "Good luck." She said.

"I don't need any." I said with a grin, obviously joking.

"Get in here Street!" Coach Smith yelled.

"Well, gotta go." I said starting to walk away.

"Wait..." Madison said. She walked up to me and hugged me. "Do good out there, I know you will." We kissed.

"Okay Street, you're gonna start at running back and at right outside linebacker." Coach Patterson told me as I entered the locker room.

"What?" I asked, I had never played outside linebacker before.

    "You'll do fine." He said.

"Last play of the first half, we have a seven point lead. What do you guys wanna do?" Cole Samples asked us in the huddle.

"HB toss." Brandon Striker said, giving me a wink.

"Set...Set... HutHut!" Cole Samples yelled out.

He pitched it back to me.

    I saw Brandon open downfield.

    I threw it.

    Touchdown!

    "Aaaghhhh!"

I had gotten hit late on the play, and I fell on my left arm.

We won the game, but I couldn't go back in. Our trainer told me to wait til next Monday to try and play again.

I didn't leave the field with everyone else.

I just sat out in the middle of the field.

    "D**mn it!" I said.

    I would be sidelined again.

Then I heard footsteps coming up behind me.

Then I felt an arm go around me.

"It's okay Aaron." Madison said as she leaned in to me.

    I stayed silent.

"Come on, let's go." She said. We got up and started to walk away.

We got outside of the stadium, but somebody else was there.

It took me a minute to recognize who it was.

    "Riley?" I asked.

        Season 1, It's... Riley!

        "Riley?" I asked.

"Yep. In the flesh." He said.

"Where. Where have you been?" I asked.

"I needed to repay some debts. I'm sorry about what happened to Mom and with Darren." He said until I cut him off.

"What happened with Mom?" I asked, needing this closure.

"It was one of Darren's possy members." He said.

        "Should I go?" Madison asked.

        "Yes, you can." I said.

"You'll be okay?" She asked, hugging me.

        "I'll be fine." I said.

She walked away and I stared at my brother in silence.

"Are we good?" He finally asked, breaking the silence.

I let out a bit of a laugh.

"How would we be good?" I asked, raising my voice to him.

"What do you mean?" He looked concerned.

"You never showed up. Your actions got mom... And of course you show no remorse, or consideration for anyone other than yourself." I said. I had finally let out all of what I thought. I thought that that was what I had always needed to do, but then I saw his face change to sadness and anger at himself.

"I get it now. I'll be in town for a while, if you change your mind." He said walking away.

I waited for him to get far enough away and then I let out a scream.

I felt so angry, sad, and frustrated.

I went back to my spot on the field and just sat.

        ------------------

I know it's a bit short, but there will be more updates out tomorrow.

          My Note Of Thanks

I just wanted to take a minute with Thanksgiving just recently passing, to thank each and everyone of you who has read this, posted comments, like the posts, given me ideas, and everything else.

This would not even be close to possible without you guys. This is the dynasty with the most views that I've ever gotten, and it's just getting started. It's also the longest running dynasty I've ever had, and that is in great part to the fact that people have shown support, so thank you.

Also thank you for dealing with the fact that I put "More updates out tonight" or something like that, and don't sometimes. I want to update this more, but things can get in the way, and I can get distracted by other things an forget about this all together, quite quickly.

So all in all, I just wanted to say THANK YOU!

              Update: December 4, 2014

Looking back through this I realized one thing: I forgot to put in an update or boxscore for the Rockville.

Instead of putting it in now and having it out of order, I have decided to just say that Washington did win that game.

It was a pretty good performance all-around for us, including another great game by running back Chris Peterson.

                Season 1, Everything At Once

                September 24, 2009

I groaned as I woke up. "Uhhh..." My head was pounding, I hadn't been able to get any sleep last night.

"Aaron. School's closed." Coach Smith said.

                "Huh?" I said, still groggy.

"There was a bomb threat, me and Coach Patterson think it was KingsWood." Coach Smith explained.

"What about the game?" I said questioningly, we were KingsWood's biggest rivals and they always pulled something like this.

"We may have to reschedule or just not play the game." Coach Smith said obviously frustrated.

Then he added on, "I still have to go to Coach Patterson's to discuss the game plan, if we'll even need it." I heard him walk down the steps and out the front door.

I slowly got out of bed, checking my phone for texts.

I texted him back, agreeing that it was bullsh*t that the game could be canceled, and also telling him I didn't feel like doing anything today and that the trainer told me not to.

I walked down to my kitchen and poured out some Frosted Flakes, I sat down at the kitchen table and saw an intriguing letter.

"From Mandeville High School?" I said to myself wondering what could be inside the letter. I remembered it being Mandeville's first year having a team, but why would they be sending our quarterback's coach mail?

I read the first couple of lines and knew what it was about. They wanted to hire him as their new offensive coordinator.

I sat around watching TV for a good couple of hours before there was a knock on the door.

"Aaron?" I heard a muffled voice shout. It took me no time to identify the voice as Madison's.

I opened the door and greeted her with a "Hello."

"Guess what?" She said. She sounded very enthusiastic about whatever it was.

"What?" I said, really wondering what she was so excited about.

"I got accepted to Prescott Academy!" She shouted.

Prescott Academy was a fancy upper class school. Not only did you have to be smart, but you also had to have a lot of money. It was about two hours outside of Washington.

"That's great." I said trying to sound excited, but I knew that it meant I would barely see her.

"I can't start now, but I'll transfer there at the end of the semester." She said.

'Damn.' I thought to myself, I can't catch a break.

First Riley comes home, then Coach Smith might take another job, now Madison was gonna leave.

                  New update out Monday!

TO CLARIFY Prescott Academy is like a boarding school that offers more options than a regular high school and has advanced classes and stuff.

ASKING Do you guys think Aaron is being over dramatic, or not?

In what was a highly anticipated matchup between two undefeated teams, one would leave with their first loss of the season. Washington and KingsWood, both considered two of the top teams in the divisions have a fierce rivalry, but Washington leads the all time matchup with a 15-7 record.

KingsWood chose to defer after winning the coin toss, and KingsWood's offense watched Washington do nothing on offense. Then KingsWood's offense came on and marched down the field like it was nothing, scoring a touchdown by a quarterback run with Zach Pollard.

Washington was finally able to get some offense going on their next possesion which was capped off by a one yard Chris Peterson rushing touchdown. Which was quickly matched by a one Yard Lou Sledge rushing touchdown. KingsWood had a 14-7 lead, early in the second quarter.

Then Washington's offense fell apart, Teddy Fritz threw a total of four interceptions and all of them came in the second an third quarters. KingsWood took advantage of this, scoring two more times in the second quarter.

At the start of the third quarter the Archers got a quick field goal, and then proceeded to score two more touchdowns. Both touchdown passes from senior quarterback Zach Pollard.

The Wildcats got their offense working all too late, as they scored most of their points in the fourth quarter. They got two quick scores in the fourth quarter, one a twenty-five yard touchdown grab by David Pendleton and the other a two yard Chris Peterson touchdown.

Then they watched idly as the Archers offense went out took five, or more, minutes off the clock and finished their drive with a touchdown, a rushing touchdown by the quarterback. Washington scored once more in the game, a twenty-four yard pass to senior tight end Jamaal Hall.

                      Season 1, Disappointment

                      September 26, 2009

I rolled out of bed with a groan. It had been a hard night, we suffered our first loss of the season and it was an ugly one. We got crushed, the only reason it even looked somewhat good for the final was because we got three fourth quarter touchdowns. Even Coach Patterson was speechless after the game, it was just a bad night.

I looked out my window and got the sight I expected, Washington was a football town and we were all Wildcats. The day was rainy and gloomy, which pretty much described everyone's attitudes after the game.

I walked downstairs and on my way saw that Coach Smith was still sleeping, he had papers all over his floor and had his TV turned on to a local sports channel that was recapping the game.

I walked away, I couldn't bear to remember it. It was one of the worst losses the Washington Wildcats have ever had, and in one of the seasons we were supposed to win States.

I poured myself some cereal, walked outside and got the newspaper. I started reading as I was eating my cereal.

If you want to look at the bright side, tight end Jamaal Hall and running back Chris Peterson had pretty good games. But you can't find a lot of other positives.

The KingsWood Archers had one of their best games in recent team history, scoring over fifty points, and senior quarterback Zach Pollard had a great game, scoring five total touchdowns.

Their defense also locked down Washington's offense, until it was too late.

This leaves a lot of questions for Washington's players, coaches, and fans.

I stopped reading, the only part I didn't read was the recruiting highlight. It talked about Jamaal Hall and Chris Peterson for us, and it talked about Zach Pollard for the Archers.

Coach Smith just then woke up and he looked like everyone felt. "What does the newspaper say?"

"Nothing good." I said handing it to him. "Their quarterback verbally committed to Ohio State."

"Our porous defense deserves most of that credit." He said. "D*mn, what the h*ll went wrong last night?"

                      "That's what we're all wondering."

                      "That's what we're all wondering."

                      -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Note The last line was repeated for emphasis.

Note Know that "Washington" is an actually based on the city Massillon in Ohio. Massillon is a town where high school football is taken very seriously, as they often get more than 15,000 people in attendance. So this is pretty on par for what would happen if they lost, in my opinion.

                        Update! Freshman Year.

I will be skipping forwards to the last game of the season, and writing about that.

Then I will be wrapping up the freshman football season, and progressing from there.

I am skipping ahead because I need to get more of my ideas out, and feel stuck writing about game after game, for three different games. Which is a thing that will change when Aaron no longer plays on the freshman, or even junior varsity team.

                          Season 1, Win and In

It was the day, our final varsity game of the season. We played Wellstown, who were our biggest rivals. We lost only two games on the season, but our division was always competitive.

Wellstown managed to go the whole season undefeated. They were a powerhouse, who nobody wanted to play. Their senior quarterback Brady Thomas had already committed to Alabama.

                          Pre-Game

"This is our season!" Coach Patterson exclaimed.

"We need perfect execution from everyone. We can win this, and if we execute like I know we can, we will win this." Coach Patterson said.

"Now get out there, and extend our season!" Coach Patterson yelled.

                          Game Time

We received after Wellstown deferred. Our returner, got to the forty before being brought down.

Teddy Fritz tossed it to Chris Peterson and Chris got through the whole. Not only that, but he got in the end zone.

We were up seven to nothing.

                          Half Time

The score was all tied up fourteen to fourteen.

Coach Patterson gave one of the best speeches ever.

                          Fourth Quarter

                          Tied up twenty-one to twenty-one.

We had a couple possessions, they had a couple possessions.

                          No one scored.

                          Overtime!

We won the coin toss and elected to receive.

First play: Play Action pass deep to Kobe Anderson.

                          It was picked off.

Run back to the thirty yard line.

                          They kicked a field goal.

                          We lost.

                          No playoffs.

"We still had a great season." Coach Patterson said.

"We'll meet next week for the end of the season." Coach Patterson said.

Everyone stayed after and everyone was upset.

A terrible ending to the season, we would miss out on the playoffs. In a year when we were expected to win it all.

                            Season 1, The Season Ends

                            Washington Wildcats
                            Coach: Blake Patterson
                            Record: 10-2
                            MVP: Chris Peterson

Teddy Fritz struggled once more after the KingsWood game, when we played Dixonville. After that he turned things around and became the old Teddy again. He is committed to University Of Oklahoma. He finished the season rated as the tenth best quarterback in the State.

Timmy Weston will be a senior next year, and it will likely be me and him fighting for starting quarterback. Tyler Reaves, the sophomore wildcat quarterback, suffered a concussion and never returned. His position was switched from quarterback to cornerback during the offseason.

Star running back Chris Peterson had a phenomenal season and will look to have another one next year, he's currently listed as the third best running back in the state of Ohio. Senior power running back Frederick Freight went to Texas A&M for mechanical engineering. He tried out for the football team and got a spot on the scout team. Sophomore running back Cameron Graham looks to have a fierce position battle with Johnny Patterson next year. Johnny Patterson also never returned to the football field in a game this year.

Fullback Laron Timmons still has a year left, and is getting a lot of interest for his wrestling ability.

At wide receiver Kobe Anderson and David Pendleton both are returning after two great seasons, as they were both named to the all-star team. A couple wide receivers graduated, but none were really big players. Brandon Striker looks to be a shoo-in for junior varsity next year.

Senior tight end Jamaal Hall who emerged as a great pass catching threat, and was already a great basketball player, committed to Ohio State, hoping to play both sports.

All of the starters on the offensive line left for college. Next year will be a hard year with a bunch of new starting offensive lineman, with almost no varsity experience.

All three defensive lineman starters graduated, one of whom will be playing college football at the University of Michigan.

The two starting outside linebackers stayed, both having okay seasons last year, and our starting middle line backer stays, but two of his backups left. Which opens up a hole for Jimmy King.

Cornerback will be great for another year, as both Chase Stevens and Blake White are returning, and they'll add Tyler Reaves next year.

Safety will be okay, one is leaving, one is staying.

Special Teams, kicker and punter, are both staying.

(If anything else changes, I'll say so)

Coach Smith had taken the job at Mandeville to be their offensive coordinator. He would be moving at the end of the school year, which made a big question: Where was I gonna live?

The group of upperclassmen friends I had made, Teddy Fritz, Chase Stevens, and Kobe Anderson, took a huge hit as Teddy was going to be going off to college soon.

Me and Madison were doing great, we were closer than we had ever been before. But she would be leaving soon...

Alexis, the other girl, had started going out with the backup quarterback from Wellstown. Their backup was projected to start next year, with Brady Thomas leaving.

Riley had been working hard to make everything up to me. He had started to take college classes too.

Cole Samples and I became great friends, he became a great part of the friendship between me, Brandon Striker, Jimmy King, and Johnny Patterson.

Darren, the criminal who kidnapped me, was sent to jail for five years. They couldn't prove that he played a part in the murder of... my mom.

This was an attempt to end up the first football season. Finish some storylines, make some new ones.

If you have any questions about the first football season, feel free to ask.

                              Season 1, Madison's Departure

                              January 1, 2010

The day had come, it was time for Madison to leave for Prescott Academy. We had spent New Year's Eve together at her house, and I had a hell of a time.

"You feel like sh*t, don't you?" Coach Smith asks as I walk through the door."

                              "Yeah."

"Well you shouldn't. Madison hasn't left yet, she will, but not yet. Cherish this time with her, no regrets. That being said don't do anything stupid."

                              "You know, you're right."

It was then that I knew what I had to do, I had to do exactly what Coach Smith told me to. Cherish my last time with Madison.

                              "Madison!"

"Aaron. What are you doing here?"

"I want to make the most of my last time with you."

"And how do you suppose to do that?"

                              "Uhh?"

I hadn't even thought of how to spend our last day together. I was thinking but, I got caught staring into her light blue eyes. They had always been one of my favorite things about her appearance. Maybe it was because she was leaving soon, but she had never appeared more beautiful.

"Let's just go for a walk." I finally say after a couple of seconds went by.

We walked for a long time together in silence.

"Look!" Madison shouted pointing towards a basketball laying right next to the basketball courts at the school.

Basketball was one of the sports Madison played, along with soccer and then she ran track.

"Let's play." I say accepting her challenge.

I had shot a basketball around before, but never played it wasn't my forte. And I was pretty short compared to most of the basketball players.

We shot and then played one on one. She beat me, I said that I let her, but she beat me fair and square.

We sat on the bench for a while longer making out, I thought it was getting darker and thought we should leave, but I didn't want this to ever end.

"I should go, my parents will start worrying soon."

                              "I'll walk you home."

We walked to her house in silence.

                              "Well, goodnight." She said.

                              "I... I love you." I said.

"I love you too." She said.

I kissed her goodnight, maybe for the last time.

Season 1, New Faces, New Places?

                                February 26, 2010

"Yo Aaron, have you seen this?"

                                "What is it?"

"Damien Michaels Jr. is leaving Philadelphia, due to gang violence."

"What does this have to do with anything?"

"He has family ties in Washington, Ohio."

"Sh*t, there's more to this than gang violence."

"I completely agree, he's a senior. You don't wait that long to move."

                                "Coach Patterson tampered, didn't he?"

"I wouldn't go that far, maybe there isn't anything to it."

"I've got to know, I've got to know."

Okay, let me explain who Damien Michaels Jr. is. He's the number one quarterback in the country, scouts are saying that he's the best quarterback prospect in quite some time.

That previous conversation was between me and Brandon Striker, he had read an article in sports illustrated about it.

I ran over to coach's house feeling anger and frustration.

He was out sitting on his front porch when I finally got there.

"Aaron, what are you doing here?"

                                "Damien Michaels Jr.?"

"Sh*t." He mumbled under his breath. "How do you know about that?"

                                "Sports Illustrated."

                                "There was no tampering involved."

"What happened to the fact that you believed in Timmy Weston, and I?"

"I still do, but he's Damien Michaels Jr.!"

                                "Whatever coach."

                                "You're gonna be his guide."

I had already turned my back and started to walk away, "What!"

"You're gonna show him around Washington, help him get settled in."
