One of my favorite parts of your dynasty continues to be the FLAWLESS GIF game. Well done!

What a great win over Texas Tech. May have been sloppy, but scoring 70 is just straight up FUN, no matter how you do it. Hate to concur with DJ's prediction against you, but... their skill position guys just look to be too much for your defense this week, this may be the first game where your deficiencies in the talent department get exposed. Now go prove us pessimists wrong.

I love the picture of Geezy at the conference. Looks like it’s taken right from the game.

          Haha, thanks for the compliment.

As for the 70 point outburst, I must say that if 72-42 had happened versus virtually any other team, I would have been a little down about posting that game on the forum, but against Texas Tech, it felt very authentic. That game turned into a very nice confidence-booster for our offense heading into this monster matchup against Tulane.

I see some areas that we can attack on both sides of the ball. Defensively, we need to take advantage of that young right side of their offensive line and send pressure that way to hopefully rattle Jimmy McBride. On offense, I think we may be able to get a few big plays against their secondary, something that plagued us back when I was with Tulane...I must reiterate again just how odd it feels game-planning against a team you built yourself, figuring out which of your former players you're going to try to pick on when they're on defense and how to get pressure on your one-time beloved QB.

I don't blame you and djp for the predictions. Heck, it is right on point with the 7-point betting line I have in the game preview. I put a lot of thought into those, and Tulane does seem to have the clear advantage. That said, all it takes is a couple of breaks and another near-flawless game from Mason, and we can come out victorious.

Thanks man...a good friend hooked me up with it. It still looks surreal seeing Coach Geezy donning the purple and gold. I have a feeling though that by the time this game against Tulane ends, I will have finally gotten over being let go by them.

Time to kick this one off and get the party started...GEAUX TIGERS!

This is the one we've all been waiting for. It's really what college football is all about, the passion and emotion. Cannot wait to see the outcome. I'm sure it was an absolute dog fight.

Game 3, Year 1 (2027 season): LSU Tigers at #18 Tulane Green Wave

RIVALRY GAME: THE BATTLE FOR THE RAG

                  N/R 21 -- 1-2 (0-1)
                  #18 49 -- 1-1 (1-0)

Former Tulane head coach D. Geezy helped the Green Wave earn the two national title banners shown here hanging in the rafters, however Wave DE Ricky Evans sacked QB Rob Mason three times Saturday night and helped show the first year LSU head coach just how far away his current team is from the type of success he experienced in New Orleans.

#18 Tulane spoils former Wave head coach D. Geezy's return to the Big Easy in 49-21 drubbing over LSU that was never really close | Tigers QB Rob Mason turns the ball over a whopping 7 times as LSU's offense is shutout in Mercedes-Benz Superdome spanking | FS Sparks and DE Evans, two players that were benched a year ago, each have career games versus their former boss | After losing their 11th straight to the Wave, Tigers must lick their wounds with home date versus 2-0 South Carolina on deck

New Orleans, LA -- "It's crazy; they're a big program and we're such a small program and yet somehow we've now beaten them 11 straight times now. Weird," said Tulane QB Jimmy McBride to reporters after Saturday's game, taking a jab at comments made by former Tulane and current LSU head coach D. Geezy back in January upon being hired by the Green Wave's top rival.

Tulane redshirt senior and Heisman contender Jimmy McBride didn't have to air it out much against the Tigers but really had no need to, finishing 6 of 11 for 137 yards and 3 touchdowns. With the Wave up big, McBride only attempted two passes after halftime.

One week after scoring eight offensive touchdowns against unranked Texas Tech, Geezy's Tigers were flying high going into Saturday night's contest against his former team Tulane. However, a poor night by junior QB Rob Mason and several standout performances by multiple members of the Green Wave, all recruited by Geezy, were too much for the visiting Tigers to overcome as they fell 49-21 to the 18th ranked Wave at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, spoiling Geezy's return to the Big Easy. McBride, a Heisman candidate who earlier in the week indicated that Geezy's words put a chip on the team's shoulder, would only complete 6 passes, all in the first half, but that was all that was needed as the Green Wave built-up a large lead and never really looked back.

McBride's 1-yard touchdown pass at the back of the end zone to WR Steve Mosley to conclude a 9-play 76-yard game-opening drive made the score 7-0 and got the scoring barrage started for the Wave. The touchdown reception was one of two on the night for Mosley, a former blue chip recruit by Geezy during his time at Tulane.

It didn't take long after that for the wheels to begin to fall off for the Tigers. Mason's nightmare of a game started when he threw his first interception of the season, to FS Donnie Sparks, thwarting a drive deep into Tulane territory with the Tigers down by only seven in the first quarter. Later, Sparks would again pick off Mason, however this time returned it 59 yards for a touchdown that made the score 14-0 early in the second quarter. Sparks would finish the game with a career-high three interceptions on the night, one year after catching only two picks as a true freshman and being benched in favor of former Wave DB Terrell Faulk at midseason.

"We talked earlier in the week about starting fast out of the gates as well as not making mistakes, and we did the exact opposite, really all night long," said Geezy, who had spent his previous 17 seasons at Tulane. "I know from experience that when you let momentum build in this place, it becomes like an avalanche that you absolutely have no chance of stopping, and we felt that avalanche this evening."

Green Wave sophomore FS Donnie Sparks showed off superb ball skills throughout the night and finished with a career-high 3 interceptions.
FS Trey Wade's 44-yard interception return touchdown gave the Tigers some temporary hope, making the score 14-7 in the second quarter, however that hope was short-lived. McBride's aforementioned second touchdown hookup to Mosley, this one from 76 yards away, put the Wave back up by two touchdowns at 21-7.

Then, just before halftime, Tulane DE Ricky Evans' sack-strip of Mason resulted in a fumble recovery by DE Mike Miller deep in Tigers territory and set the Wave up in prime field position; it was the first of three sacks on the night for Evans, who like Sparks, was benched a year ago in the middle of the season. Two plays later after the strip-sack, McBride connected with junior WR Grant Brady for a 27-yard score that increased Tulane's lead to 28-7 with just 0:38 to go until halftime.

"We couldn't run the ball, we couldn't block in the run game or in pass pro, it was just an awful, awful, awful night," said LSU offensive coordinator Anthony High, who played for the Green Wave under Geezy from 2013-2015. "I felt like we put our defense in bad situations most of the night. We had seven penalties tonight, all by the offensive line, including four false starts. Just an overall piss-poor effort tonight.

"After our success last week in Lubbock, this was really a wake-up call."

The Tigers got the football first coming out of the halftime break, and drove all the way to the Green Wave 25-yard line with a chance to get back into the game, however Mason would get hit on a screen pass attempt as he threw and CB J.T. Hills was able to corral the pass just inches before it hit the ground and returned it 78 yards for a back-breaking touchdown. The play would be reviewed and upheld, making the score 35-7 just minutes into the third quarter.

"You gotta give a lot of credit to (Wave defensive coordinator) Cam DeJean," said Geezy of his former player and coaching pupil, who was a finalist for the defensive coordinator job at LSU before Geezy decided to go with the more experienced Charles Kelly. I thought Cam called a great game and had us in a daze all night. Hats off to how he has turned that defense around after taking over the job last year."

LSU would go on to score two more touchdowns the rest of the night, one by true freshman CB Ryan Carter on a 69-yard interception return and another by its special teams when true freshman MLB J.J. Brooks returned a punt return fumble by Brady 17 yards for a score, but it was not enough.

Junior RB Anthony Brown gashed the Tigers defense for 219 yards on the ground on Saturday. His only touchdown of the night came in the fourth quarter from 30 yards out and made the score 49-21, putting the game away with just under two minutes remaining.

Tulane RB Anthony Brown helped keep the game out of reach, helping the Wave churn the clock while rushing for 219 yards on only 26 carries, and his 30-yard score with less than two minutes remaining made the score 49-21 and sealed the victory for the Green Wave.

"I know they put up a ton of points on us but honestly I just told coach Kelly a moment ago that this one was not on the 'D' tonight," said Geezy, who indicated he never thought once about benching Mason during the game, despite the turnover woes. "All night long, the defense was put into bad spots and any time you turn the ball over 7 times, several times in your own territory, and give up two defensive touchdowns on top of that, you're going to be in for a long night. Our defense did everything it could, including scoring three touchdowns this evening, giving them seven scores this season on that side of the ball.

"We're just not playing good complimentary football and this game really showed us how far we have to go if we want to be able to compete with a team like this."

LSU (1-2) will host South Carolina (2-0) next week at Tiger Stadium. Geezy knows that his team must get its act together, as next week's game could be considered a must-win.

"We are at a bit of a crossroads right now," said the first year Tigers head coach. "You always hate to be in September talking about must-wins, but time is running out for us to turn this thing around and this one was a tough one to lose from a psychological standpoint and in terms of the SEC standings. We're staring down the barrel of 1-3, and these things tend to snowball. We need to have a great week of practice this week and get this thing figured out, and soon."

Notes: Saturday night's game marked the first time in D. Geezy's 18-year head coaching career that an offense under his tutelage was held without any points. The previous low came in 2021, when Geezy's 5th ranked Green Wave fell to #19 Virginia Tech 28-3 at Blacksburg....Former Tulane RB Reggie Moore was honored before the game as this year marks the 10-year anniversary of him winning the 2017 Heisman Trophy. The Schriever, Louisiana native's Jacksonville-London Jaguars team is slated to play the New Orleans Saints this weekend on Sunday Night Football; the pregame ceremony was initially scheduled to occur during the Jaguars' bye week in late October, however the 10th year NFL veteran Moore asked for it to happen this weekend so that Geezy could be there. The two men, along with Moore's former collegiate backfield mate and current Tulane head coach Joe Roberts, took photos together before the game...LSU RB Greg Hearn suffered a back injury in the first half, and team sources indicate that it is a torn back muscle that could cost the redshirt junior the remainder of the 2027 season.

One week after losing to Michigan 40-35 in stunning fashion at Ann Arbor, Tulane players prepare to take the field for their 2027 home opener at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

LSU head coach D. Geezy, wearing one of his signature "Superdome suits" for the matchup against his old team, admitted he got a little misty-eyed just before the game when the stadium played a short video tribute thanking him and recapping his time spent as Tulane's head coach.

Erin Andrews and Carley McCord were both on the LSU sideline in a non-working capacity for Saturday night's game and apparently put on their best fake smiles for this pregame photograph. Sources indicate that the two women got into it when Andrews allegedly uttered something under her breath following the photo op. The situation would later boil over when McCord allegedly gave Andrews the stank-eye after stopping to give LSU head coach D. Geezy a "good luck hug" in the tunnel right in the middle of a conversation Geezy and Andrews were having, and the two women had to be separated.

Sophomore WR Steve Mosley, the nation's top rated wide receiver recruit in 2026, showed off his toe drag swag on this first quarter touchdown that gave the Green Wave an early 7-0 lead.

With his team already down 14-0, LSU junior FS Trey Wade's pick-six temporarily put the Tigers back in the game. The interception return touchdown was the second in two weeks for the Timebrlane, Louisiana native.

QB Rob Mason's fumble on this second quarter scramble was one of a stunning 7 turnovers the junior quarterback committed during the contest.

Tulane junior WR Grant Brady flipped the football after scoring a 27-yard touchdown that gave the Wave a commanding 28-7 lead just before halftime. The score was Brady's fourth on this young season.

A very enthusiastic QB Jimmy McBride high-fives a fan as he goes to the halftime locker room with his team already up big.

LSU true freshman LB Will McNeal pleads with an official after he felt he was held on what was yet another big play by the Green Wave.

LSU TE Lucas Rodgers out-jumped CB J.T. Hills on this deep reception and finished with a game-high 7 receptions for 142 yards, however Hills would get the last laugh just two plays later when he returned an interception 78 yards for a touchdown that made the score 35-7 early in the third quarter.

Tulane senior star LB Sean Williamson celebrates following one of his game-high 10 tackles. The former blue chip prospect and #2 recruit in the nation out of Eunice, Louisiana stifled Tigers RB Scottie Rodgers all evening long, helping to hold the true freshman to just 31 yards on 12 carries.

As is typical LSU brought a lot of fans to the Big Easy, however following Hill's pick-six, Tigers fans knew that this wasn't going to be the year that their team's long losing streak to Tulane would end.

Mason could do nothing but lay in frustration after taking one of a whopping 7 sacks his offensive line gave up on the night.

Tulane RB Anthony Brown was a true workhorse, powering through the LSU defense to finish with 26 carries 219 yards and a score while helping his team churn the clock in the second half.

DE Ricky Evans celebrated after stripping Mason of the football for a second time on the night late in the game. Evans finished with 3 sacks on the night and won Player of the Game honors.

Wow. Reading the recap just gave me that feeling where you know you've got a team that has some work to do, but you've had some good performances. You go into the next game thinking "maybe we are better than I thought we'd be" and you end up getting drilled. That is always very humbling.

Looking at that schedule too, I dont know where you get a break. Kudos for sticking with Mason the whole game despite the 7 turnovers. That has to be a confidence builder for him.

I am really looking forward to seeing how the rest of this season plays out in Baton Rouge!!!

well that one had to hurt some, hoping you can bounce back and at least make a bowl or the Big Easy portion of this adventure could be short lived.

Think Mason is going to be one of those guys that never quite lives up to his ratings or you think he'll work out?

Where to Geezy's allegiances lie in the McCord/Andrews feud?

You go into the next game thinking "maybe we are better than I thought we'd be" and you end up getting drilled. That is always very humbling.

Looking at that schedule too, I dont know where you get a break. Kudos for sticking with Mason the whole game despite the 7 turnovers. That has to be a confidence builder for him.

I am really looking forward to seeing how the rest of this season plays out in Baton Rouge!!!

First of all, welcome to the dynasty board and thank you for taking the time to reply.

Your first paragraph really sums up well my exact feelings; man was this a humbling, eye-opening experience. I really thought we were on our way after that Texas Tech blowout, and then Tulane goes out and promptly b****-slaps us to waken me out of that fantasy.

I too am a bit worried about our schedule. Based on what is remaining, a home game against South Carolina is pretty much a must-win. If we drop this one, and all of a sudden, I am worried about bowl eligibility.

As indicated in the game article and as you point out, I never once thought about benching Mason. I felt as though the OL was to blame for his woes in this one. I think he bounces back strong this weekend against the Gamecocks.

                          Thanks again for following along!

I think Mason is still the man. He just ran into a buzzsaw at the dome. That place is really a tough place to play, and the entire team felt rattled after going down early. I chalk this one up to being just one of those games. By the way, boy do I miss playing in that building already and hearing all of my New Orleans-themed custom sounds. The game was a blast, despite the outcome.

As for Andrews and McCord, Coach Geezy is a happily married man and doesn't know what you're talking about.

                            LSU Tigers News Clips

Just before kickoff on Saturday, Geezy took a moment to look up at the six SEC Championship banners he won during his time in New Orleans.

LSU | Geezy ready to move on to next week
                            Mon, 13 Sep 2027 11:22:10 -0700

LSU head coach D. Geezy, fresh off a disappointing 49-21 loss versus his former team Tulane, met with reporters on Monday and admitted that this past weekend was a "tough pill to swallow." In a game in which LSU failed to score any points offensively and turned the ball over 7 times, Geezy realizes that performances like those aren't going to cut it.

"We've had a couple of days now to really break down the tape and it is as ugly as ugly gets," said the 18-year veteran head coach who coached at Tulane from 2010-2026.

"They got early momentum, the crowd got on top of us early, and it just felt like there was mistake after mistake. We ran close to 70 plays and our quarterback was sacked 7 times, we turned it over 7 times, and we had 7 penalties, all on the offensive line. That's over 20 negative plays right there, and that's not even counting plays in which Rob (Mason) was hurried or had to throw the ball away because of pressure. I mean think about it; we were blown out and we didn't attempt a single fourth down in the game. That right there tells you just how far behind the sticks we were all game long.

"That said, we have to put this thing to bed, and move on to South Carolina," a phrase Geezy would then utter repeatedly throughout the rest of the press conference when asked about anything Tulane related. The New Orleans Times-Picayune provided a transcript of the exchanges -

Reporters: Coach how did it feel to be back in the Superdome after being let go by a football program you built?

Geezy: It was kind of bittersweet, but we're on to Carolina.

Reporters: Coach after the game, Tulane QB Jimmy McBride seemed to poke fun at the notion that LSU is a bigger football program than Tulane. How did that make you feel?

                            Geezy: We're on to Carolina.

Reporters: What did you think about the pregame video shown before the game to recognize you and your time spent in New Orleans:

Geezy: It was great, but we're on to Carolina.

Reporters: Coach, any truth to the rumors that there was an incident involving yourself, Erin Andrews, and Carley McCord before the game outside of the locker room area?

Geezy: I have absolutely no earthly idea what you're talking about; we're on to Carolina.

Following that final question and answer, Geezy's security team gave each other an awkward look then immediately ended the press conference.

LSU | 4-star ATH Morgan to visit
                            Tue, 14 Sep 2027 09:41:23 -0700

Eve Jewell of ESPN's SEC Network reports that 4-star Texas ATH Luke Morgan (6-0, 171, 4.54 40-time, #10 ATH prospect) will be making an official visit to Baton Rouge for LSU's game versus South Carolina this upcoming Saturday night. Morgan, a Gainsville, Texas native, is expected to soon choose shortly thereafter between LSU and Tulane, whom he visited this past weekend.

The Gainsville, Texas athlete has turned heads since joining the Gainsville High Leopards' football team after devoting his first three years in high school to basetball. A pitcher for the Leopards' baseball program, Morgan is the starting quarterback in the Leopards' veer option offense. Many view him as an athlete with a very similar skillset as current Tulane senior RB/WR Michael Brown Jr., a player that Tigers head coach D. Geezy coached for three years during his stay in New Orleans.

Sheesh I focus on moving for a couple weeks and I come back to find you put up 70+, got trounced in the house you built and are still feuding with the alleged women in your life. Seems like every time things fall to pieces with Andrews, you get trounced in SEC play (Arkansas *cough* *cough*).

Great work as always though my friend and made for a great afternoon reading through and playing catch up. I know it sucks to take the Tulane game in the teeth but I have said it before and I will say it again, Rome wasn't built in a day. You are brand new to this program and have to take time to get your guys and your system up and running. Any sort of a bowl appearance and winning record this year, I will count as success.

I loved the press conference where Geezy was channeling his inner Bill Belichick. And as someone above mentioned your GIF game is on point.

Looking forward to seeing the South Carolina starting lineup. I will be curious to see if they are for real or just played cupcake teams here early on.

Also happy to see Big Blue and my Hokies putting in work!

Much love as always brother, you are crushing it as usual.
