Let’s goooooo!! Excited about the new beginning. The job offers are so much better in that game than NCAA 14. I love all the info it gives you. Good luck with LSU!

The rivalry can continue with Bama and now the Geezy Bowl every season with Tulane! Great choice!

I hope to see lots of night games in Death Valley.

Holy lord those jerseys Hopefully we see you rock the purple unis more than LSU does in real life, as they look unbelievable! No disrespect to Tulane, but the LSU jerseys just are iconic and look unreal in the few snapshots that you're posted so far. Can't wait to see what you can cook up with them here in the next few seasons, it really seems like it could be something special. GEAUX TIGERS!

Yes, yes, yes!! I am so frickin' excited for this. Just so so pumped. I love the choice of LSU. It feels so natural and realistic and I think will provide you a nice challenge of attempting to build a dynasty in Baton Rouge. Like you discussed I loved the Superdome and your time at Tulane (which I have been along for since the very first post - weird to think I was a 20 year old undergrad in Virginia when this started), but this is Death Valley in Baton Rouge. It is going to be intensity and homefield advantage and football pageantry unlike anything you have ever experienced.

I am so interested and excited to see where the storylines go. I think "White Mike" gives you a nice immediate centerpiece for the offense and we both know the importance of building along the line (something I am suffering from myself).

Coaching staff is the next big question. With Roberts poised to take the head role at Tulane, I figure he will hold on to a lot of your staff. I wonder what Charles Kelly is up to these days, still enjoying his time at Florida St or maybe he is ready to reunite with his old friend.....

            So excited.

very excited for phase three of this, can't wait for that first Tulane game. Who's house this season?

I've been following your 'chises forever and it's been really cool seeing them evolve.

I still remember your Northwestern one you played with your son!

Imagine my excitement after my work week... I crack a beer and relax, Thursdays are usually my day to check in on dynasties as I'm just too exhausted to do much else to start my weekend.

Pop my coors light (the true gourmet beer to simpletons like myself), whip open the computer and tap away to the OS site. Oh... what's this... PART III?! I expected a longer hiatus while you made your choice!

Pop the champagne, Gentries! Christmas has indeed come early my friends!

I love the choice! having been to Death Valley, I can feel an even stronger connection than before. I can't wait to see how this goes. Excellent, smooth transition into part 3 Geezy, it's always a delight to see how you develop the stories!

Much appreciated Rizzo. Even though I am from Louisiana, I've never been a big LSU guy either, but this fit certainly feels natural. The fact that they've done so poorly in the game made this an easier decision.

Still feels a little crazy not being a part of my Green Wave anymore, but hopefully this team will be just as fun.

Thanks, Tearz. The natural storylines that could play out was clearly the biggest selling point for me. I'm very excited to see where this story takes us. As you'll see in a moment though, I have a TON of work to do to turn this team around.

I love the decision to go to LSU, not being that far from New Orleans and remaining in the SEC carries so many storylines with it. Like you mentioned, having to see Alabama and Tulane every year is going to make for some big games. Looking forward to see how Part III plays out.
Thanks for the kind words brother...it is always great to hear that your work inspires other people.

I'm really looking forward to facing off with Tulane once a year, especially in the early going when a lot of the guys I am playing against will be players I recruited; I suddenly regret recruiting so well during my last season there; I have a feeling that those two blue chip safeties I signed are going to come back to bite me at some point in the not-so-distant future!

Thanks man, same here. It feels bittersweet. I truly hated to leave my Wave, but I am also excited to be starting a new thread with a new look and with a new team; it has been a long while since I have gotten to do that.

Yes this game really knocks a lot of things out of the park, this being one of them. There is just so much off-the-field stuff overall to keep any hardcore dynasty guy busy. Hopefully the goals they have set for me are attainable and what happened at Tulane doesn't end up happening again. As I just learned the hard way, those goals truly do mean something; they're not just there for show.

Yes, this was one of several big factors with my decision. The SEC is just too fun to let go of, and I still have a bone to pick with Bama, plus the opportunity to not only play against the Wave every year, but to also keep them as a prevalent part of the storyline was huge for me.

                          "The Geezy Bowl?"...I like that.

Ha...you beat me to the punch. The jersey situation will be addressed later in the off-season.

You're right, the purple jerseys on the game look incredible. I sure wish there was a way to hack in the purple helmets they wore in a game this year into the game though (see avatar).

We do have a nice variety to work from however, including some pretty sweet alternate uniforms from back in 2007, including some white pants, white helmets, and a unique purple jersey.

Thanks man. This thing for me has become something much bigger than I ever expected it to. Literally eight real-time years in, this honestly feels like a real life ordeal, and that makes it easier to stay invested in it.

Cheese, you're the person that ultimately inspired me to get back into this reporting thing, so to have your seal of approval on the team choice means a lot to me.

I can remember playing a brief, one season dynasty with LSU back in my youth on like NCAA 04 or something, and everything you say is accurate. You can just feel the pagentry and "specialness" when playing with a historic program like this and in a huge venue like Tiger Stadium. Plus it just feels natural that this is Coach Geezy's next step. It feels as though this is the proper graduation for his career. Like I said in the article about the hire, playing with LSU just feels like a much bigger deal, and hopefully that feeling translates well into the reporting. Another minor plus with using LSU is that it allowed the primary thread title "Coach Geezy in the Big Easy," to live on.

"White Mike" (lol) played a big role in my decision to roll with LSU. Aside from the now-incredible, unintentional foreshadow that was provided back when I was reporting on the courtship of him at Tulane, I am just pumped about using a QB with his skillset. I really plan to really add the "Mike" to White Mike these next couple of years. He has a chance to quickly emerge as the face of this dynasty early-on.

As for the coaching staff...I have some ideas up my sleeve for the type of defense I want to run and who I want to run it. As you know by now, it is more about the playbook than the person. I kind of hinted to it in the past season or so with Tulane, but I think I may be ready to try something new.

I plan to really take my time this off-season. I want to make sure I am not just hopping into this thing and playing games with a bunch of guys I don't know. I am going to take my time and really acclimate myself (and readers) to my new team. By the time I kickoff the season, I want this to truly feel like "my team" just as it did with Tulane; I think that's very important at this stage, going into year 18 of a dynasty.

The Tulane game this season will be played at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome and I could not be happier about that; the "revenge game" is always sweeter when playing at the other team's house. That's going to be a wild week, with Coach Geezy heading back to his old stomping grounds. We may even see an appearance from the ESPN Gameday Crew for that one.

I appreciate you following my work through all of the years my friend. My son and I still talk about that Northwestern dynasty to this day. He was 6 years old when we did that and now he's 17 and getting ready to take off for college in a few months. Boy does the time fly!

Appreciate it. Coach Geezy ain't ready to quit just yet. He's gotta win a couple more rings and cement his legacy before this story gets wrapped up.

Haha...glad I could brighten up your Thursday man. Funny you mention Christmas. I thought about waiting until Christmas morning to start the thread and spend the time in between doing the off-season stuff and just report on it later, but I quickly realized that there was no way I was going to be able to hold off that long.

I wasn't sure how long of a break I wanted to take initially. I wanted some time away, but not too much, because I didn't want to risk others and myself losing interest. In the end, once I made my decision on what team I wanted to use, I had to make another decision on how and when I wanted to roll things out.

I had a couple of different options - do I a.) wait to post the thread while I familiarize myself with my team, that way the wait for games won't be long for readers? or do I b.) post the thread as soon as I have everything ready, and incorporate a full off-season helping of information to help both myself and the readers familiarize themselves with my new team?

Due to the unique dynamic of switching a team in the middle of a dynasty, I chose the latter. Thankfully, for the first time ever, my real life job gave us the day off after Thanksgiving, so I had the house to myself for most of the day and was able to churn away at getting the thread together, I then polished it up on Sunday morning and slept on it one more night before officially pushing the green button on Monday before work.

Anyway, by the time I am done with this off-season, I want this team to be more than just a mix of random names that no one has heard of making plays. One of the things that made the Tulane dynasty special for me personally and I would imagine virtually any other person's dynasty team is that several years in, the team is full of players you 100% know because you recruited them. The best way to try to mimic that here is to spend time getting to know everyone, and I plan to try to achieve that here this off-season through my reporting.

I am one of the rare people that enjoy football off-seasons as much if not more than the season itself, so I have no problems with taking my time through it. I think it'll be well-worth it in the end.

I do know that that's what they've worn historically. Not quite sure what my thoughts are on it just yet. On one hand, I like tradition, but on the other, it may get boring wearing white jerseys 80+ % of the season.

I will probably mix it up; after all, it is 2027 and we're trying to buck trends! As I alluded to above in my response to Moose, I plan to address the jersey deployment stuff at some point during the off-season.

Thanks, BigSheen. I was hoping someone would pick up on the Coach O-esque "Go Tigers" at the end of the press conference.

I am stoked about trying to turn this team around. I said it in the article about the hire that this just feels bigger now, joining a historical program like this; and I can already tell through everyone's comments that this could potentially be a bigger and better thread with more interest and eyes on it just by virtue of the team being used.

Thank you all for the great feedback and comments. I am still not over Geezy losing the Tulane job, but here's to this LSU journey being even better!

                          Go Tigers!

I have a feeling that 3* WR Donald Branch could have a great combination of size and speed to give the offense some life.

No question. He's probably more of a developmental prospect, but I could see him contributing in a couple of years. With that size and speed combo, he will have an impact at some point. He is definitely one to watch.
