STEELERS overcome sloppy rainy first half performance to beat JAGUARS 21-17 on Game Winning Drive!
RECAP
Jacksonville, FL- It was pouring down rain when the Steelers(3-2) kicked off their game against the Jaguars(1-4) today in Northern Florida.
"I love games like this honestly. It's like back as a kid playing old school ball with your friends." Steelers Wideout Chad Hall stated.
Hall had 8 catches for 94 yards and caught both of Roethlisbergers 2 TD's.
The Jags focused on Antonio Brown pretty good today. Ben threw his way but was picked off by Jags corner Dwayne Gratz.
But the star Wideout still racked up 96 yards off 7 catches.
The real bread and butter for Pittsburgh today was the running game as Jacksonville has been struggling to stop the run this year.
Bell had 162 yards and a Touchdown.
"That's really our weakest link right now." Jaguars Head Coach Gus Bradley stated. "We need to stop the run."
Steelers Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger struggled in the first half. Jacksonville was up 10-7 at the break thanks to slippery field conditions in the pouring down rain.
"We knew with the rain we would have to make adjustments. We stuck to running the ball quite a bit." Steelers Head Coach Mike Tomlin stated.
Down 17-14 with two minutes left in the game and Roethlisberger already throwing 2 picks in the game, Pittsburgh went to work.
Roethlisberger led the Steelers on a 80 yard Game Winning Drive and connected with WR Chad Hall in the endzone with 15 seconds left.
"Great drive for our guys there. Everybody stepped up when they needed too." Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger stated.
Rookie Quarterback Blake Bortles made his second Career start and managed 198 yards and a Touchdown.
The Jaguars(1-4) are building for their future after selecting the rookie in the 2014 Draft.
"He held his composure very well for just his second game." Bradley stated.

BRONCOS lose 3rd straight, Manning hurt, Fall to CARDINALS 47-24!
RECAP
Denver, CO- The Denver Broncos(1-3) are in trouble. Big time.
After a 62-24 thrashing of the Indianapolis Colts on Week 1 Sunday Night Football, the Denver Broncos looked to be a force in 2014.
Manning threw 7 Touchdowns and looked to be the early favorite for MVP.
But that was just a mirage and a savage one at that. The Broncos then entered a 3 game losing streak after falling to the Chiefs in Week 2, a much anticipated Super Bowl rematch to the Seahawks in Week 3 turned out to be a repeat of the Super Bowl.
Denver entered their BYE Week 4 at 1-2. Manning had more interceptions to Touchdowns.
Then came today's game against the Arizona Cardinals(3-1).
"It was a game that got away from us in the second half." Broncos Head Coach John Fox stated.
Denver entered the game with Peyton Manning leading the league in Interceptions with (12). The 5 time MVP has had it rough and the Broncos are falling apart.
The Arizona Cardinals(3-1) jumped on the aging Peyton Manning picking him off 3 times and running away in the 4th Quarter with 23 points to Denver's 0.
To make matters worse, Peyton Manning hurt his throwing shoulder in the 4th Quarter and will miss a month with a tear.
Denver now drop 3 straight and it appears time has caught up to Peyton Manning. The Broncos(1-3) drop to third in the AFC West after so much hope and expectations after the blowout in Super Bowl 48.
"It's rough. We had high hopes for this year and now that our Franchise Quarterback is on the shelf, we're losing games. It's still early thankfully but we need to figure out how to win games." Broncos GM John Elway stated.
The Broncos have Brock Osweiler and Zac Dysert at Quarterback. Denver must now move forward entering Week 6 with a matchup against the Jets.
"It's a bad situation for us all. Me personally. I know the team depends on me to win. " Broncos Quarterback Peyton Manning stated.
Before going down in the 4th Peyton threw 3 TD's, 3 picks, and 295 yards.
He leads the NFL in picks with 15.
Time has apparently caught up to Peyton. Denver may struggle the rest of the year after so much expectations.
The Cardinals dropped 47 points in Denver today with Carson Palmer throwing a Touchdown and 333 yards.
"Denver is a good team on paper. Great coaching staff, players, management. Everything." Cardinals Head Coach Bruce Arians stated.
With the loss today, Denver has now dropped 3 straight and will place their MVP Quarterback Peyton Manning on the shelf.
Denver will need to turn things around if they wish to contend for playoffs.

Alex Smith gets retribution, CHIEFS pound 49ERS 46-25 in Santa Clara!
RECAP
Santa Clara, CA- Alex Smith stood at the podium with a grin on his face. The former 49ers Quarterback was shipped off to Kansas City after spending his career in San Francisco.
"It was bittersweet for me personally." Said Alex Smith.
His Chiefs just pounded the 49ers today. The 9er faithful even gave him a small ovation. Head Coach Jim Harbaugh even shook his hand and gave him a hug.
"He's a great person, hell of a player." 49ers Head Coach Jim Harbaugh stated.
The Kansas City Chiefs(4-1) we're a stranger to the San Francisco 49ers(2-3) but Alex Smith wasn't.
"We listened to him and focused on a good game plan for what he knew." Chiefs Head Coach Andy Reid stated.
But the 49ers knew Alex Smith very well. Smith was picked off twice today by the 9ers but threw one touchdown.
What really did the 49ers in was the running game.
Chiefs Runningback Jamaal Charles was a beast today. He racked up 248 yards, and 3 Touchdowns.
"We ran the ball very well today. Great performance by our guys." Chiefs Head Coach Andy Reid stated.
The 49ers we're helpless against Charles.
"They ran the ball down our throat. We need to work on that." 49ers Head Coach Jim Harbaugh stated.
San Francisco(2-3) is now below .500 for the second time in the Jim Harbaugh Era.
"We've been here before and it's no stranger to us. We're a team that can handle adversity. We just have to put our right foot forward." Harbaugh said.
49ers Quarterback Colin Kaepernick had 2 Touchdowns and a pick for 275 yards. He fumbled the ball while running.
"Gotta protect the football better." Kaepernick stated.

JETS fly past CHARGERS in San Diego 24-10!
RECAP
San Diego, CA- The San Diego Chargers(3-2) looked to be in control of the visiting New York Jets(3-2). Phillip Rivers led San Diego down on a 80 yard opening drive.
But then San Diego sputtered as New York rolled past them with 24 unanswered points.
"No idea what happened there. We got on the board early and then just fell apart." Chargers Head Coach Mike McCoy stated.
Rivers was picked off twice and had no touchdowns against Rey Ryan's defense.
"We took our foot off the gas there. " Rivers stated.
Jets rookie Quarterback John David Booty had a touchdown of his own.
New York took full control after 3 San Diego turnovers. The Jets had none.
"We knew we had to score with every chance we get. San Diego is a firepower team." Jets Head Coach Rey Ryan stated.
New York did that.
Jets running back Chris Johnson racked up 132 yards and 2 Touchdowns as the Jets flew past the Chargers in San Diego.
"He's a very great Back. Real contributor to our Football team." Jets Quarterback John David Booty stated.
"We didn't turn the ball over once. When you don't turn the ball over, you have a good chance at winning games." Jets Head Coach Rex Ryan stated.
The New York Jets(3-2) racked up 427 yards to San Diego's 355.
Rivers struggled vs the Jets Defense.
"WE played defense very well today. Our guys executed." Ryan stated.

PATRIOTS overcome early struggle, CRUSH BENGALS 41-17 on SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL...
RECAP
Foxboro, MA- The lights we're on bright in Foxboro when Andy Dalton and the Cincinnati Bengals(2-2) kicked off with New England(4-1).
The Patriots are HOT winning 4 straight.
"We're playing great football right now. We feel like no one can stop us." Patriots Quarterback Tom Brady stated.
The Bengals took an early 14-3 lead in the second quarter thanks to a 91 yard TD run by Geovanni Bernard.
"That was a blow to us." Patriots Head Coach Bill Belichick stated. "Give up a score that fast."
New England(4-1) quickly rebounded. Tom Brady went to work.
New England cut the score 14-13 heading into halftime.
The second half was all New England and a great defensive battle by both teams.
Cincinnati struggled only putting up a FG as New England flew past them with 28 points.
Brady led the charge with 365 yards and 3 Touchdowns. His favorite target? Minitron.
Edelman was a monster. 14 Catches, 268 yards and a TD. Brady dropped bombs to #11 like it was nothing.
"We couldn't stop them. They had their way with us tonight. The greatest ever." Bengals Head Coach Marvin Lewis stated.
Andy Dalton struggled only managing 209 yards and a Touchdown while being picked off twice by Matt Patricia's unit.
"They're a really good football team right now. Firing on all cylinders." Dalton stated.
The Bengals(2-2) will lick their wounds tonight.
Brady was pulled in the 4th Quarter late to allow Jimmy Garoppolo and Ryan Mallet some mop up duty. Jimmy G fired a Touchdown pass to Danny Amendola.
Bill Belichick was quick and simple to the point like always.
"Great football. Great coaching." He stated.
The Patriots have now won 4 straight after a tough loss in South Beach in Week 1.
Things are tight in the AFC East for right now but the Patriots next two games are against Division rivals (Bills and Jets) with a rematch vs Miami in Week 15.
New England should pull away for some breathing room.

WASHINGTON no match for Defending Champions as SEAHAWKS blow out REDSKINS 45-13 on Monday Night!
RECAP
Washington, DC- Washington(1-4) was no match for the defending Champions, Seattle Seahawks(3-1) on Monday night Football. The Redskins we're absolutely dominated by the Seahawks who took a 28-7 lead into halftime and knocked out Quarterback Kirk Cousins with a dislocated shoulder.
"It was physical and brutal. We were just pushed around from the word go." Redskins Head Coach Jay Gruden stated.
Redskins QB Kirk Cousins dislocated his shoulder late in the first quarter and never returned. He had it popped back in place but was kept out the remainder of the game.
Backup Colt McCoy finished the game and completely struggled vs Seattle's "Legion of Boom" Defense.
"Very physical team. Defending Champs for a reason." McCoy stated.
Colt McCoy finished the game with 127 yards, 1 Touchdown, 2 Interceptions, and a fumble.
Washington struggled to get anything going vs Seattle. They we're held to constant 3 and outs and we're 1 for 9 on third down conversions.
Offensive Coordinator Sean McVay struggled to get a rhythm going vs Seattle.
Russell Wilson was a magician tonight. Throwing 300 yards and 2 Touchdowns while rushing for 2 more.
And speaking of rushing, BEAST MODE lived up to his nick name. Bouncing off Redskins like a pinball on his way to 170 yards and 2 Touchdowns.
"Seattle is a monster of a team. Not just on paper, on the field as well." Redskins Head Coach Jay Gruden stated.
The Seahawks absolutely crushed Washington up and down the field tonight.
Washington(1-4) will get Franchise Quarterback Robert Griffin III back next week as well Kirk Cousins.

Re: ~~Lords of the Gridiron~~
TOP TEN TEAMS
Week 5
#1. Dallas Cowboys(5-0)
The Boys continue their winning ways all without Franchise Quarterback Tony Romo who is due back this week when the Cowboys head to Seattle. Dallas has been riding their monster running game of DeMarco Murray and backup Quarterback Brandon Weeden has become quite the "Game Manager." Head Coach Jason Garrett is already an early favorite for "Coach of the Year." And Dallas is the only remaining undefeated team this year. If Dallas keeps playing like the past 5 games then the road to Super Bowl for the NFC will go through Big D.
#2. New England Patriots(4-1)
The "Dynasty" have gotten over their week 1 upset in South Beach by rattling off 4 straight wins and scoring 40 or more points each time. The Patriots continue to show the NFL why they're the Greatest Dynasty ever. New England will continue to win unless teams can figure out how to slow down Tom Brady. It's no secret that AFC goes through Foxboro for playoffs.
#3. Kansas City Chiefs(4-1)
The Chiefs know just how good New England is first hand, coming off a 44-41 shootout loss at home to TB12 and the Pats. Kansas City is a force but there's still work to be done for Alex Smith and Company. With Peyton Manning on the shelf for a month and Denver in downward spiral, KC should take the West Crown this year. San Diego is hot on their tail in second place.
#4. Seattle Seahawks(3-1)
The defending Super Bowl Champions are firing on all cylinders and are very dangerous. Seattle dominated Denver in their "Rematch" and completely dissected Washington on Monday Night. The "Legion of Boom" Defense is still a threat to anyone and Beast Mode and Wilson are pounding the football. Seattle should grab the #1 Seed and should knock Dallas off their rocker on Sunday when the Boys pay a visit to the CLink.
#5. Chicago Bears(4-1)
The Monsters of the Midway sit atop the North heading into Week 6. Da Bears are playing very well and have rallied behind Jay Cutler and second year Head Coach Marc Trestman. The Packers know first hand the kind of resilient team Chicago is after a loss to them last week. The Bears look to keep control of the Division and make the playoffs for the first time since 2010.
#6. Green Bay Packers(3-2)
Hot on the heels of their rivals, Green Bay comes in at #6 as Aaron Rodgers and Company have rebounded from their Week 4 upset loss in Chicago thanks to Mike McCarthy, with a thrashing of the winless Vikings on Thursday night. McCarthy have reverted back to his old ways and Dom Capers Defensive Unit is ranked among the worst in the league. How far Green Bay goes will rely solely on Aaron Rodgers it looks like. It doesn't help that the Head Coach and Quarterback appear to be on the wrong page. Things could get interesting for Green Bay...
#7. New Orleans Saints(3-2)
After a 3-0 start rocking the #1 Offense and Defense, The Saints collapsed on Primetime vs Dallas. Then they we're crushed by Tampa Bay in which they gave up 48 points. The Saints are still a legit contender in the NFC however and should take the South this year if they can slide by red hot Tampa Bay. Drew Brees is playing like a MVP leading the NFL in Touchdowns and yards.
#8. Tampa Bay Buccaneers(4-1)
The reconnection of Head Coach Lovie Smith and Quarterback Josh McCown has done wonders for Tampa Bay. The Buccaneers lead the South and have blown out New Orleans. The Buccaneers look to keep proving people wrong and make a run for the playoffs. A place Tampa Bay hasn't seen since 2007 with Jon Gruden at the helm. That team was 9-7 and lost in the Wild Card Round to Eli Manning and the New York Giants.
#9. San Francisco 49ers(2-3)
Despite a crushing loss to Kansas City who had former 9er Quarterback Alex Smith, the 9ers are still a threat in the NFC. Jim Harbaugh's crew rocks the 5th overall Defense but the Offense with Kaepernick is 20th. Teams appear to have figured out how to play Kaep yet the 9ers continue to be a pest to opposing squads. If Kaepernick can keep the ball moving and the defense continue to be elite, San Francisco will be in the playoffs for the 4th year in a row under Jim Harbaugh. It's going to be a dogfight in the West with Seattle and Arizona.
#10. New York Giants(4-1)
The Giants opening game was a epic collapse in Detroit that saw them choke away a 27 point lead. The "Miracle in Mo-Town" looked to define the Giants 2014 Campaign. However The G-Men had other plans as they rattled off 4 straight wins and have become red hot. The Giants sit in 2nd place in the NFC East behind Dallas and with 2 games to play vs Dem Boyz' we could have a epic showdown in the East.Comment

Re: ~~Lords of the Gridiron~~
WEEK 6 Games to Watch:
Colts(2-3) @ Texans(2-3)
The Colts and Texans are tied for 1st in the AFC South. The winner of the game will take sole possession of 1st. Both teams are down to backup Quarterbacks.
Patriots(4-1) @ Bills(3-2)
Another chapter in the Patriots-Bills Rivalry as New England heads to Buffalo. The Bills will look to prove that they can contend with TB12 and that their (3-2) record isn't a fluke. Buffalo has a lot to prove in this game. Another loss to New England and the Bills will have to wait for Week 17. By that time, New England should own the East Division.
Packers(3-2) @ Dolphins(2-2)
Former Packers Offensive Coordinator Joe Philbin faces the Quarterback he helped mentor in Green Bay. Aaron Rodgers. Philbin's Dolphins will have a tough task at stopping one of the All time Greats and must contain the Packers offense. Question is how will Head Coach Mike McCarthy handle his former Assistant and his Miami Dolphins?
Seahawks(3-1) VS Cowboys(5-0)
Hands down the Game of the week. The defending Super Bowl Champions firing on all cylinders will look to hand the RED HOT Cowboys their first loss. Dallas is set to welcome the return of Franchise Quarterback Tony Romo. The Cowboys with a victory should prove many people wrong this year. A Seahawks victory and Dallas will still have work to do.Comment

Mannion out, COLTS shine with Thad Lewis in 39-14 victory over TEXANS
RECAP
Houston, TX- With Quarterback Sean Mannion fighting a bad illness all week, the Indianapolis Colts(3-3) turned to their newly acquired Quarterback Thad Lewis.
And Lewis did not disappoint.
Lewis went 20/27 for 212 yards and 3 Touchdowns.
"I had to make the best of my start." Lewis stated after the game. "I know next week when Sean (Mannion) is back he'll be the starter. I'm just here to help the team win games."
And help he did. Indianapolis grabbed first place in the AFC South after stomping the Houston Texans(2-4) who struggled on Primetime with Case Keenum at Quarterback.
Keenum was 10/23 for 134 yards and a Interception. He was benched by the 4th Quarter for rookie Jared Zabransky.
He didn't fare much better. He had 58 yards and 2 picks of his own.
"It was a tough game for our Quarterbacks." Texans Head Coach Bill O'Brien stated. "They couldn't get in a rhythm."
Houston finished the game with 5 Turnovers.
"We need to do a much better job at protecting the football." Keenum stated.
The Texans relied heavily on Running Back Arian Foster who racked up 126 yards with a Touchdown and a fumble.
Injured Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick watched helplessly from the sidelines with his ruptured disk.
He's not scheduled back for 8 games.
By that time, Houston(2-4) could be 2-12 and far away from the Post Season.
"Rough game to watch for sure." Fitzpatrick stated.
Houston is down another weapon as well as star WR Andre Johnson is missing 3 more weeks with a partial MCL Tear.
"Every team has injuries. Football is a tough physical sport. We need to rally behind the guys we still have can play." O' Brien stated.
The Indianapolis Colts(3-3) now sit in first place in the AFC South as Houston(2-4) have lost 4 straight.
"Great win for us tonight. Guys responded well to the tough task ahead. A tough environment for us on the road." Colts Head Coach Chuck Pagano stated.
After starting 2-0, Houston have lost 4 straight. They will attempt to turn things around in 11 days when they head to the Steel City for a Monday Night Football game with the Steelers.(3-2).

Re: ~~Lords of the Gridiron~~
From First to a Downward Spiral.... What happened in Denver?
October 9, 2014
Written by: Pamela Estes
The Denver Broncos we're defending AFC West Champions and looked to rebound from an embarrassing Super Bowl loss last February. After a Week 1 Sunday Night blowout over the Colts things looked to be on the upside. Quarterback Peyton Manning threw 7 Touchdowns and Denver looked like the same team from 2013.
But then things changed.
The Broncos would then enter a 3 game skid including a much anticipated "Super Bowl Rematch" against the Seattle Seahawks at Century Link Field. It would be a disaster.
Peyton Manning would throw 0 Touchdowns and 5 interceptions in the thrashing loss to the Hawks. Manning now leads the NFL with the most interceptions thrown heading into Week 6. (12).
However now Denver must face another obstacle, Peyton Manning is injured. He hurt his shoulder in last weeks loss to the Arizona Cardinals. He is set to miss a few games but the problem lies within one of the greatest to ever play, Peyton Manning.
It appears Denver is now getting an ugly glimpse of a future without their Franchise Quarterback. The Broncos sit at 1-3 and are on the road in New York to face the Jets where Denver will move forward with Quarterbacks Brock Osweiller and Zac Dysert.
The Broncos must now start thinking of what they plan to do moving forward as Denver sits third in the AFC West.Comment

BEARS win 4th straight! Stay RED HOT as they pound struggling FALCONS 31-6 in Atlanta.
RECAP
Atlanta, GA- The Atlanta Falcons(2-4) continue to struggle in 2014. They have sunk to a 2-4 record and the game plan from Head Coach Mike Smith is just not working anymore. Quarterback Matt Ryan has just 7 Touchdowns and 5 Interceptions heading into Week 7.
It appears that Atlanta has grown stale.
"We're aware of how we look. We still have time to turn things around and we need to get back to the fundamentals of Falcons Football." Falcons Head Coach Mike Smith stated.
The Falcons(2-4) are coming off a dismal 4-12 2013 campaign in which they failed to make the playoffs for the first time since 2009.
The way the Falcons look now they may be back on the couch for January again.
"We're having a rough time." Falcons Quarterback Matt Ryan stated. "Just need to figure out how to get out of this funk."
Ryan had 204 yards and a Touchdown in todays loss to the Chicago Bears who have now won their 4th straight.
The Falcons failed on the 2 point try.
The Chicago Bears(5-1) we're simply red hot today inside the Georgia Dome taking a 16-0 lead into halftime.
Jay Cutler had 298 yards and 3 Touchdowns with a pick.
"The way we're playing right now is just phenomenal. We feel like we can compete with anyone." Bears Head Coach Marc Trestman stated.
Trestman has done a masterful job in turning the Bears franchise around in his second year at the helm.
The Bears(5-1) we're amazing on defense as they held Matt Ryan's favorite target in check. Julio was held to just 48 yards and 7 catches.
Bears Defensive Coordinator Mel Tucker was all smiles after the game.
"I don't care what their record says, anytime you can stop high quality weapons like the Falcons have, it's a great day." Tucker stated.
And a great day it was. The Atlanta Falcons we're held to just 208 yards total.
"We're back to the drawing board for next week." Falcons Head Coach Mike Smith stated.
The Falcons continue to struggle as they fall to 3rd in the NFC South.
It's still early but the Atlanta Falcons(2-4) will need to figure out how to win some games and quick if Head Coach Mike Smith wants to avoid the hot seat.

JAGUARS turn the ball over 8 times in 44-7 blowout loss at the hands of the TITANS...
RECAP
Nashville, TN- They say Divisional games are always the hardest because the teams know each other. That was the case in today's game vs the Titans and Jaguars.
"It was absolutely terrible. Play a game like that and we should be ashamed of ourselves. No excuse." Jaguars Head Coach Gus Bradley stated.
The Tennessee Titans(2-4) absolutely dominated their South rivals, Jacksonville Jaguars(1-5).
Titans Quarterback Jake Locker didn't do much. He didn't need to. He was 13/18 for just a Touchdown and 2 picks for 72 yards.
The real story was how smothering Titans Defensive Coordinator Ray Horton and Head Coach Ken Whisenhunt had their defense.
The Titans jumped all over Rookie Quarterback Blake Bortles who picked him off 5 times as the Titans took a 24-7 lead into halftime.
Jacksonville(1-5) would never score again.
The Titans had 5 interceptions off Bortles who was then benched in the 3rd Quarter.
"It was awful. Just no other way to explain it." Jaguars Quarterback Blake Bortles stated.
Jacksonville then turned to veteran Chad Henne for some sparks but the Titans defense would pick him off 3 times as the Titans finished the day with 8 interceptions.
3 of them alone we're by Titans Cornerback Jason McCourty who also had a Pick 6.
"Those games are once in a lifetime. I'll probably never have another in my Career." McCourty stated.
"I was very happy with our football team today. The guys battled and really took it to them." Titans Head Coach Ken Whisenhunt stated.
"Have to give Tennessee all the credit today. They we're well prepared and dominated us." Jaguars Head Coach Gus Bradley stated.
