First time reporting on a franchise, I thought it would be fun and maybe keep me playing a franchise longer then 2-3 seasons.
Platform: PS2
Difficulty: All-Pro with King sliders. I presume engine is the same since it’s an older system anyways.
Trading: nothing during regular season, only able to use trading block to not abuse AI in offseason.
Free Agency/Resigns: the ‘interest’ bar must be dark green in order to accept/offer contract since this team is a dumpster fire waiting to ignite.
Player pool: team must be comprised of only PAC-12 players. The kicker and punter where possible.
Edit: there were no free agent kickers from PAC-12, and P/K cannot be traded in madden 12, so I am playing season 1 with Olindo Mare

Head coach Pete Carroll and GM John Schneider just got done having a press release. The media were still in complete and utter shock over the news...the Seattle Seahawks were becoming a pro PAC-12 team. In what can only be described as a mid-life crisis having a baby with one giant senior moment as described by some journalists.
Coach and GM both pointed at the college game and how the PAC-12 was not getting the recognition from the college playoff committee when compared to the Bama’s, Clemson’s, LSU’s of the collegiate world. That’s when the two come up with the idea of a ‘pro PAC-12’ and how they would crusade for the PAC-12 to be held on equal grounds.
They announced that the team would be 100% comprised of talent from the PAC-12, and by winning on this level, it would hopefully flow into the college ranks and shed light on the PAC were the word of Pete Carroll.
Everyone thought it was a publicity stunt, or maybe just crazy ramblings. Then the high profile, superstar pieces were being traded or cut. Some made sense at first.
Charlie Whitehurst, was released. He was making way to much to be a below average backup. Same with wideouts Ben Obomanu and Sean Morey. Their skill sets to be options 5 or 6 were not there. Then came the BIG one...superstar on the rise Earl Thomas. He was traded along with Colin Cole and Deion Butler to San Diego for Eric Weddle, Antoine Cason and Kevin Ellison. This rocked Seahawks nation and set the fans into a tailspin.
The coach and GM were getting blasted, roasted and their jobs were called for on a nearly daily basis; in news talk radio, blogs, YouTube, Facebook and everything in between. But the organization stuck to their message and the trades kept coming.
Tight End John Carlson, Golden Tate a speedy wide receiver and their 5th round pick for TE Zach Miller and RE Greyson Gunheim and their 6th rounder.
Halfback Leon Washington and WR Deion Brach were traded to the Bucs for WR Sammie Stroughter, rookie DT Brian Price and a 6th round pick.
Key building blocks kept tumbling and heading into the mandatory training camps were a new group of men heading into battle for the year. Only time...and WINS will determine how short of a leash coach and GM have and how long their tenure is with the team.
