Re: The Great Realignment (NCAA 14)

So I am doing a bit of an experiment (though I know I'm not the first to try this lol) with graduate transfer quarterbacks. Two of them will transfer to become instant starters while four were created as Senior (JUCO) prospects to be recruited- I'm interested if schools already loaded with QBs (Alabama, Clemson) will get these guys or if they will choose places that truly need a QB the next year.

    INSTANT TRANSFERS

    Chase Wolf (92 Overall)
Wisconsin to Missouri ~ Wolf, a redshirt senior, opted to make a move to Missouri. A Kansas native, the Tigers were one of the first teams to recruit him out of high school. They had an impressive year in 2021 and Wolf might make them a contender again.

    Jacob Sirmon (91 Overall)
Washington to BYU ~ Sirmon, an undeniable talent, transferred to fellow PAC-12 program BYU. There, he will be a starter and be the best quarterback they have had in years. They have been in the mid-pack / below average since the Great Alignment.

QUARTERBACKS TAKING A YEAR OFF TO BE RECRUITED

    Matt Corral (97 Overall)
Ole Miss ~ Corral is one of the best transfer quarterbacks in some time. A true game changer with top-end talent, he has played few snaps behind accompanying senior John Rhys Plumlee.

    Kedon Slovis (93 Overall)
USC ~ The highly-recruited Slovis is testing the market after losing the starter battle with JT Daniels. The Arizona native has a great scrambling ability with high-level accuracy.

    Dakereon Jyner (93 Overall)
South Carolina ~ The South Carolina born-and-raised QB is going to be an explosive asset for whoever signs him. The former WR never could secure the starting job and will get one more shot in 2023.

    Cord Sandberg (92 Overall)
Auburn ~ Sandberg, an MLB prospect, has had little opportunity to play in his four years behind Bo Nix. Being a Florida-native, many speculate he will sign with Florida or Florida State- both will be needing a QB in 2023.

Well, considering Louisville and Oregon State have won the past two titles- I am not even going to try and predict who might win it this year. I do know that Alabama's team is grossly stacked but that SEC is devastating. Also, didn't expect Louisville's Javian Hawkins to return. He has 5,000 career rushing yards- meaning he could definitely break the NCAA career record for yards with a big season.

I'm excited for the Lobos this year. If Jordan Adams meets hit attributes, the offense should not miss a beat. Nealy has the potential to really put it in another gear this season. Of course, the line is a liability. Defensively, as I have said multiple times- we have 8 guys back and all are playmakers. If we put both sides together- watch up. For the first time so far, we have a higher overall than most of our opponents (81). Really looking forward to traveling to Ohio State and NC State. Let's get it.

This team probably goes as far as Nealy takes them. Good luck!

Good luck this season! Games are won and lost upfront - recruit some offensive linemen

Interesting putting the grad transfers into the recruiting pool - Kinda neat to not predetermine where they go, but also sucks that means they have to take a year off. It'd be nice if we had the ability to create prospects of off-season recruiting only, but alas that's not an option.

Yes, I agree. He is the engine to this squad. I can't risk running around too much with my bad line- can't bank on him only getting injured once like last year. Thanks for the comment!

We might have well should have built a buffet in the Lobo lockerroom because I have been throwing the kitchen sink at tons of linemen every season in recruiting. It's like pulling teeth signing OL here for some reason. But yeah, I agree- we won't be next level until I figure that out haha.

Yeah, that'd be awesome. It does suck to wait a year but after this season it will be really cool to see a team's potential hanging in the balance of signing a QB on NSD. Thanks for the comment my man!

Should be another exciting season for the Lobos! Nealy is poised for a big year and hopefully Adams can make an immediate impact in replacing Vigilant.

A lot of old Big East beef to be settled here haha even though I didn't protect any rivalries, the game did a good job still having the best rivalries Week 14 like WVU/PITT Ohio St./Michigan

The opening week did not provide much insight or big stories. As with every season so far, the real storylines don't really come into fruition until around Week 5 or 6.

                              The Lobos had a BYE

Sad to see Louisville go down like that. Not a good sign at all for them. Was hoping to see Hawkins have a memorable senior year. The early out-of-conference matchups aren't as fortunately high-ranking as usual this year.

What an opening performance by the Lobos? Can't beat starting with a kick six then almost a pick six. Nealy delivered and has progressed on par. Adams starting kinda stiff in the backfield but what he lacks in quick twitch he makes up for breaking tackles (I don't think Vigilant broke one tackle in two years lol). He had one long TD run that was beautiful but got called back. The defense was great. All guys I thought would play well did. 1-0!
