Re: The Great Realignment (NCAA 14)

Close call with putting anyone in for my first year. Wanted to put a linemen in but boy was their pancake-sake ratio not great. Burton was actually a big standout all year and did about anything. One big play of his was a pivotal pick against Wyoming that helped us win.

I'm also trying to induct 1-3 national players to just cross compare some great seasons. For year one, it's going to be hard to beat the 13-1 Cinderella UNLV team that knocked off Alabama in the Sugar Bowl. Great season by him. And if you were wondering, the reason Louisville's Heisman RB isn't here is because the dude is actually coming back for his redshirt junior year (great).

Nationally, the expected promotions to Independent: Memphis, UNLV, Boston College, and Illinois (RIP Maryland who went 8-5 and got demoted). The key is being able to put two big years together back to back and break into the Power 5 where it is much easier to stay once there. Memphis and UNLV probably won't be as good but Boston College and Illinois have a great chance to push in. Also, Texas Tech replaces Baylor (who actually began 2020 in the Top 10) in the Big 12. Recruiting-wise, thought it was cool to see Montana notch the #31 class in the country.

As for mine, I rather shocked myself with my results. My strategy of targeting players mid-late season with lower lock percentages almost worked too well as I finished with the #3 class nationally. Definitely unrealistic but we will write it up to illegal recruiting in which will catch up to me at one point lmao. Regardless, a great class full of top players. I spread them out pretty evenly in QB, RB, WR, and DB.

My team graduated a lot and though we are talented- definitely young and not great lol. We will have nine freshman starting. The best, of course, is Cedric Nealy who, after the abysmal Hall / Tuioti show in 2020, was an easy choice to pick as he exceeds both now in overall. Going to be a bumpy ride but if we get through it, we will start to become a dangerous team down here in Lobo Land.

That O-line looks to have a lot of experience, so that oughta help your Freshman QB, along with a seasoned running back. I'd be worried about the rate of drops from those two freshman wideouts, though.

            Yeah, Hawkins is a man.

And yes, they will need to be a staple for us to win this year. Thanks for the comment!

Four QB Graduate Transfers Going into 2021

93 Overall - Jawon Pass (Louisville to Florida)
Pass is a sensational talent but has been behind National Champion QB Micale Cunningham for two years now. The 6'4 pocket passer is reconnecting with old roots on his high school recruiting trail in the Florida Gators. Coming off a BCS Bowl victory, the Gators had practically nothing at QB (70 overall was their best returner). Pass makes them an instant title contender.

92 Overall - Keytaon Thompson (Mississippi State to Virginia)
*This move actually happened in real life in March 2020 and just happened coincidentally make sense on this dynasty* Thompson was not positioned to start and opted to go to Virginia- a promising team that has not seen much success since The Great Realignment. How much does this change their stance?

91 Overall - N'Koski Perry (Miami to Pittsburgh)
Miami had two senior QBs transfer out after not winning the job. Perry is a tall dual threat that will make Pitt a scary team in the ACC- he had close recruiting ties with WVU and Virginia Tech. Last year, the Panthers ended very strong and look like they might carry that momentum into 2021 with such a transfer.

91 Overall - Tate Martell (Miami to Texas A&M)
Things always come full circle. Positioned at #3 on the Hurricane depth chart, Martell had nothing to lose but to transfer a second time back to the school he originally decommitted from to start this whole circus. A&M needed a QB desperately to supplement a title contending team coming off a BCS Bowl victory. Can Martell pull off the ultimate season of redemption?

Pretty solid first year - am I reading this right that UNM didn’t make a bowl despite going 6-6? That’s kinda a bummer.

Love Tathan transferring back to A&M - hilarious. Maybe he will actually find a role there.

After following it my first year, I feel like I have some investment in some of these Indy's breaking into the Power 5 conferences. Really excited to see if any can

Yep. 6-6 and no bowl! Just a chip on these boys' shoulders lol. And yeah, you were big right on A&M. Ultimate redemption tale for both them and Tate together this season.

Haha yep. I did some background reading on the four qualifying QB transfers to match them with seven Power 5 schools that needed a QB. It just seemed right that he go back to the place that kinda launched his whole transfer charade.

Believe the rosters imported are having a late blooming effect where there are some supremely talented teams. 8 teams in the Top 25 at 99 overall... jeez. As I said in the rundown, I'm most interested in Trevor Lawrence and Justin Fields returning to go out on a better note than 2020. Then, of course, the transfers too as well as if Louisville can do it again.

I went with the autogenerated schedule. Really wish I knew ASU was a 97 (with a 99 defense) before I signed up for that lmao. Other than that, a pretty decent schedule for how young we are.
