It was such a great game. What stunk the most was wasting about 90 minutes of my time when it's hard for me to find time to get in any playing time. I was so worried I would lose the rematch, because Colorado State chucks it around and scores a ton of points against me.

Glad you took care of business in the restart. Mann is a TD vulture!

This seems to be happening a lot in my dynasty, where the No. 2 halfback gets to clean up around the goal line after the No. 1 guy handles most of the workload to get us down the field. I don't break many big plays, so I'd say a minimum of half of our touchdowns are runs of three yards or less.

            2022 SEASON, GAME 11

Hunter Williams snags a touchdown catch with nine seconds left in the first half.

            ALMOST THERE
Rout of UNLV has Air Force one win
            from first MWC championship game

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — There’s a good chance Air Force will play in its first Mountain West Conference championship game during B-Dawg’s five years at the helm.

There’s an equally good chance that UNLV will be the opponent.

If that’s the case, it’s time to dust off a spot in the Falcons’ trophy case for some conference championship hardware.

UNLV proved to be no match for Air Force, which rolled to a 52-14 victory on Nov. 19, 2022.

If Air Force wins at New Mexico next week and UNLV beats San Diego State, the teams will have a rematch for the Mountain West title.

Air Force is alone in first place in its division at 5-2, but Boy-Z State, Utah State and New Mexico are lurking at 4-3. New Mexico lost 35-28 at San Diego State Saturday, taking some luster off of the regular-season finale.

B-Dawg isn’t willing to predict how another matchup with the Rebels might go.

“We still have to get there,” he said. “We lost a tie-breaker for a berth in that game last year when we had no idea how a three-way tie might shake out. We need to take it out of the hands of EA Sports’ tie-breaker formula and crash through the front door.”

Pressed about how easy it might be to beat UNLV, B-Dawg leaned on his past experience.

“Let me take you back on a journey through time,” B-Dawg said. “We’re in the 2021 season of NCAA ’14. I’m coaching at Western Michigan. We face Iowa for the Big Ten Conference championship. We smacked those boys around pretty good, beating them 56-14 in September of that season. With the hardware on the line, they beat us 32-29. I won’t overlook UNLV if we get the chance to play them again. You never know what Heisman mode will be cooking up that day.”

Heisman mode kept its shenanigans to a minimum Saturday.

In fact, it was Air Force quarterback Zachary Larrier who looked to be the one in robo-QB mode, going 26-for-30 for 255 yards and three touchdowns. His 28-yard scoring strike to Hunter Williams with nine seconds left in the first half was the big blow, giving Air Force a 28-7 halftime lead after UNLV had cut the Falcons’ lead to 21-7. Air Force scored following two turnovers when the Rebels were driving in Falcon territory.

The catch by Williams was the first of 31 straight points for Air Force, which led 52-7 before UNLV got a garbage-time touchdown with 40 seconds to go.

            Jalen Mergerson forces a fumble.

              Re: 2022 SEASON, GAME 11

Jesus, it wouldn't just be a two way tie with New Mexico if they win, but if Boise and Utah State win you could be looking at four way tie past divisional record tiebreakers (all being 5-3 in conference play, and 3-2 in the division)! I've got to imagine that the game didn't dig that deep into tiebreakers and the best overall record would make the difference, plus you beat New Mexico and no one has to worry about any of this lol

I actually love recruiting a big back as my backup and for short yard purposes. I feel like it's a great tool to have.

This conference is so balanced (nobody is really great now that Boy-Z State has dropped a little bit and nobody is really that much worse than everyone else). Games seem to sim out so that a bunch of teams are near the top of the standings every year. I have no idea what EA's tie-breaker formula is beyond head-to-head matchup if it's a two-way tie. We need to go out and make sure we don't leave it to the whims of the EA programmers (obviously knowing the result of a game I played a couple months ago).

As much as we all fall in love with SPD, it's frustrating to see speed backs go down like a sack of what when they're touched. I like having someone who can push the pile when you need an extra yard or two, in addition to a speed guy. If you get them in the right situations, you have the classic thunder-and-lightning.

                    CLASS OF 2023 RECRUITING UPDATE

Kicker among six Air Force commits

Air Force got its kicker of the future and a bunch of warm bodies following its victory over UNLV.

Kyle Stegall, an 80 OVR kicker, headlines a group of six players who have committed to Air Force.

Also committing to the Falcons are 69 OVR strong safety Kevin Leonard, 67 OVR cornerback Scott McKenzie, 67 OVR strong safety Danny Rush, 67 OVR wide receiver Ben Charles and 64 OVR offensive guard John Moore.

The Falcons impressed these recruits by hitting goals of 100 rushing yards, 250 passing yards, two interceptions, a victory and a 40-yard-plus field goal against UNLV.

The only guys remaining on the Falcons’ board are 81 OVR athlete Chad Rice and 66 OVR defensive tackle Willie Andrews.

                      2022 SEASON, GAME 12

Jeff Porter sacks New Mexico quarterback Perry Johnson.

                      NO-DOUBTER!
Air Force clinches first MWC title berth
with emphatic trouncing of New Mexico

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — This year, Air Force took no chances.

The Falcons are the undisputed champions of the Mountain West Conference’s Mountain Division.

                      No co-championship, no tie-breakers.

                      Un … dis … puted.

Air Force made an emphatic statement by clinching its first berth in a Mountain West Conference championship game during B-Dawg’s five-year tenure with a 56-0 beatdown of New Mexico on Nov. 26, 2022.

The 13th-ranked Falcons will play the championship game at home against UNLV, a team they whooped 52-14 last week.

“When you play an NCAA dynasty, you figure this step would’ve taken place a little sooner than it did for us,” B-Dawg said. “We figured we would have a Mountain West championship appearance or three by now, but it makes the accomplishment even sweeter that we’re here now. These aren’t handed out like candy in Heisman mode when you’re as mediocre at the sticks as I am.”

Air Force finished 5-2 in the conference. Coming into the week, New Mexico, Utah State and Boy-Z State were still in contention for the division title.

It was obvious that New Mexico had no business playing for a championship. The Lobos never took a snap in the red zone and were 1-for-10 on third down.

They were the seventh-ranked defense in the country and second-ranked rushing offense, but did neither well. Air Force racked up 524 yards of total offense and held New Mexico to 81 yards on the ground on 22 carries.

Emmanuel Williams came into the game with 1,234 yards on 235 carries, but was held to only one measly yard on seven carries. Fullback Garrett Babcock, originally recruited by Air Force, had back-to-back 11-yard runs early in the game, but didn’t get another carry.

“That’s another case of poor CPU coaching, but in their defense we took them out of their running game by getting up 28-0 by halftime,” B-Dawg said.

It was only a 7-0 game after one quarter before the Falcons scored 21 points in the second quarter and another 21 in the third. Air Force scored touchdowns on each of its first six possessions.

Zachary Larrier had another highly efficient game at quarterback, going 23-for-30 for 242 yards and two touchdowns. In his last two games, Larrier is 49-for-60 for 497 yards, five touchdowns and no interceptions.

“Those don’t even look like numbers for a quarterback I’m controlling,” B-Dawg said. “I’m good for a couple stupid interceptions easily in 60 pass attempts. I guess Zachary and I are in a rhythm right now.”

The rout allowed Air Force to get plenty of players involved. Haaziq Daniels came off the bench to throw two touchdown passes, 12 different players caught passes and nine players had at least a carry. There wasn’t enough room in the OS tables to include one catch for five yards each by cornerback Mark Monroe and fullback Brad Tremblay.

“These are the games where I like to get a rep for a player who may not have a stat all year so that he shows up in our final stats,” B-Dawg said. “It’s like he actually existed.”

B-Dawg even put in his second-string defense, which can tend to jeopardize shutouts. The shutout was preserved when a fourth-and-10 pass from the Air Force 24-yard line was caught in the back of the end zone by Cedric Patterson. Patterson was barely out of bounds with 1:20 left in the game.

“We had only two sacks and didn’t intercept a pass,” B-Dawg said. “We played simple, smart defense. We stopped the run and kept their passes in front of us, stopping them for little or no YAC.”

                      Jalen Mergerson recovers a fumble.

Air Force goes into this game riding a four-game winning streak, which includes a 52-14 rout of UNLV just three weeks ago. Memories of that game are still fresh, as it was played two days in real time and three weeks in dynasty time before the teams took the field for the championship game. B-Dawg is mindful that he was in a similar situation at Western Michigan University in NCAA 2014 when he faced Iowa in the Big Ten Conference championship game in the 2021 season. Western trounced Iowa in the first meeting, 56-14, but lost in the conference title game, 32-29. UNLV bounced back from the loss to Air Force to beat San Diego State, 41-34, in the regular-season finale to qualify for the Mountain West Conference championship game. Air Force will need another big performance stopping running back Chad Magyar, who has 1,391 yards and 18 touchdowns, but was held to 68 yards on 18 carries in the first meeting. This is Air Force's first trip to the conference championship game.

                            Playing catch-up here!

First, have to comment on Army only giving Anderson the ball 4 times! I'm guessing he was the FB in their flexbone set? The reads in this game are so nerfed that the FB never seems to get the carry on the read. I know I'm not the AI, but when I run flex, I make sure to run plenty of FB dive, just to get my guy the carries he misses out on in the triple. Shame the AI doesn't do the same.

Nice to see the redux of the CSU game was a little less anxiety-ridden for you. Isenhart with those 3 sacks probably had some ladies up in his barracks after hours.

Then I see you boat-raced both UNLV & New Mexico. A 'chip is on the line in the next one, but you already addressed my concerns about the rematch with UNLV...which is the CPU shenanigans that might take place after a blowout win the first game. Don't let those boys focus on anything but football. Playtime with the ladies awaits for champions, not the runner-up!

"Heisman mode kept its shenanigans to a minimum Saturday.

In fact, it was Air Force quarterback Zachary Larrier who looked to be the one in robo-QB mode, going 26-for-30 for 255 yards and three touchdowns."

There's always that one or two lines that make me laugh out loud.....never disappointed me

He better have been! He needs to know Air Force is the place to be if you want to put up big numbers in college.

My guys have no problems with the ladies, if y'know what I'm sayin'.

Anderson is one of the halfbacks for Army. Spoiler alert - his name may come up in a significant way in the future.

I need to get caught up on reports. I hadn't played in about two weeks, but didn't make much of a dent in the gap between reports and where I'm at playing the games. I played the first game of the 2025 season Friday. I'm almost done with my 2022 reports.

There's always that one or two lines that make me laugh out loud.....never disappointed me
                                My job here is done!

I try to make my reports an indictment on how the game plays from time to time. I actually really enjoy this version of NCAA Football. If we had to get saddled with one forever, this was a good one to pick.
