Excellent 10 game block my friend, hopefully you can keep it going.
Hossa, Kane, and Toews are all tearing it up this year. Vancouver's spot atop the West may not be safe with those three being on fire.

Thanks guys, thought that section looked a little bland so I messed around with it yesterday and gave it a new look.

          2012-2013 Block 4 Update: 26-11-3, 4th in EC
Jason Pominville has already met his goal total of last year as he leads the red-hot Sabres.
          Buffalo Pushes Into Elite Territory
BUFFALO, NY - Pittsburgh did it to begin the season.

The Penguins won ten games in a row, a hard feat to accomplish, but just a couple months later the Buffalo Sabres were on the verge of doing the same thing.

After closing the last block with five straight wins the Sabres kept the winning going behind the scoring of Jason Pominville and secured wins over Washington, Montreal twice, and Philadelphia to get to nine wins in a row. To get to ten the Sabres had to beat Philadelphia again but a former Sabre, Daniel Briere, tipped in the only goal of the game with under a minute left to end the win streak at nine.

The Boston Bruins would hand Buffalo their second consecutive loss in overtime before the Sabres started a whole new streak. Buffalo won four games to close out the block and backup goaltender Scott Clemmensen got three of those four wins.

This string of victories has Buffalo tied with Montreal for lead in the Northeast Division yet the Sabres still sit eight points behind the NHL leading Pittsburgh Penguins.

          Injuries Continue to Mount
While D Christian Ehrhoff and C Maxim Lapierre returned to the lineup the Sabres did not stay healthy for long as wingers Tyler Ennis (jaw) and Marcus Foligno (hernia), as well as center Cody McCormick (groin) will all miss the next month of action.

Fresh off a broken nose center Luke Adam has healed just in time to be plugged back into the lineup. He will join C Joel Armia and winger Corey Tropp to fill in the gaps left by the injuries.

There you go Canucks! re-live that moment, the moment we've been waiting!

            Aside from that..

Great job on the turnaround for the Sabres, the first year was a little shaky but this year, you're 4th but your within grasp to get 1st!

Keep up this great work Block!

Incredible run there, looks like you may have finally turned it around and are gunning for a top playoff spot this year.

I dont fiddle with lines much outside of injuries so he is still on the third line. He struggled last year on the second line, much of the same this year on the third. Not that impressed with Drew Stafford.

I went to the IIHF World Hockey Championship Semi Finals in Halifax that pitted USA vs FINLAND. During the pregame warmup I was by the glass taking pictures and Selanne and Jussi Jokinen had given me a big thumbs up and smiled for the picture, when I went to the US end Drew Stafford fired a puck right at the glass in front of my face as I was waiting to take a picture. Never liked the guy since..... True Story.

Maybe I'll trade the prick for a trainer than can keep this team healthy. LMAO jk!

                          2012-2013 Block 5 Update: 33-14-3, 4th in EC
An improved offense and better play from Ryan Miller has the Sabres making history.
                          Ten It Is
BUFFALO, NY - Just about a month ago a Daniel Briere goal stopped a possible ten game win streak as Buffalo lost to Philadelphia.

After losing the next game to Boston the Sabres started all over and quickly rattled off four wins to finish off the fourth block of the season.

In the fifth block the winning continued. The Sabres returned to the door step of ten straight wins after beating Minnesota, Phoenix, Boston, Montreal and Toronto. Then after a victory over the Colorado Avalanche the Sabres became the second team to win ten straight games this year.

More impressive is this impressive run has seen Buffalo go 19-1-1 in their last 21 games. Despite those gaudy numbers the Montreal Canadiens and Pittsburgh Penguins are playing just as well. Montreal sits three points ahead of Buffalo with 72 points and Pittsburgh still leads the NHL with 74 points.

St. Louis would end Buffalo's win streak at 10 as more bad news hit in the injury front. Defenseman Robyn Regehr will be out over a month with a seperated shoulder after suffering the injury against the Toronto Maple Leafs on January 11th. Nathan Gerbe is also out after a hip injury took him out of the game against Washington on January 18th. Gerbe is expected to be sidelined for three weeks.

Dennis Persson, who was called up from AHL affiliate Rochester when Christian Ehrhoff was hurt, will be re-called to fill in for Regehr. Marcus Foligno returned from injury a bit early and will be able to play in Nathan Gerbe's spot.

Miller, Myers Help East To 2013 ASG Win
COLUMBUS, OH - Defenseman Tyler Myers had one assist and goalie Ryan Miller stopped 20 of 22 shots as the Eastern Conference defeated the Western Conference 3-2 at the 2013 All-Star Game.

Ryan Miller and Tyler Myers being selected to the All-Star Game doubles the number of selections the team had last year when just Derek Roy made it to the game.

This marks the second straight victory for the Eastern Conference that at the moment holds the top three teams in the league in Pittsburgh, Montreal, and Buffalo.

                                2012-2013 Block 6 Update: 36-19-5, 4th in EC
After a recent loss to the Habs, the Sabres sit nine points back of division leading Montreal.
Montreal Becomes Third Team To Win Ten Straight This Season
BUFFALO, NY - Welcome to the club, Montreal.

Just as the Buffalo Sabres closed the gap between them and Montreal, the Habs turned on the afterburners and did what has already been done twice this year and won ten games straight.

They carried that 10-game win streak into their fifth meeting of the season with Buffalo. In the first four meetings Buffalo had one each game by a single goal. Montreal proved why it might be hard for the Sabres to catch them with a resounding 5-1 victory to extend their win streak to 11 games.

The string of victories has allowed Montreal to pass Pittsburgh as the top team in the NHL and move nine points ahead of Northeast Division foe Buffalo with 22 games remaining.

For Buffalo, after two incredible ten game blocks the Sabres went just 3-5-2 during block six.

                                Fourth Line Grind
It seems the Sabres will never be back to full health. Just as D Robyn Regehr and LW Nathan Gerbe near their returns two fourth liners are out for considerable time.

C Maxim Lapierre will miss time for the second times this year after pulling his groin against Toronto on February 8th. Three games later, against Tampa Bay, news got worse as fourth line RW Patrick Kaleta broke his nose against Tampa Bay and will hope to be back in time for the playoffs. Another player who broke his nose this year, Luke Adam, will return to the Sabres to fill in for Kaleta.
