The Maple Leafs look to get back into the win column on Tuesday night against the visiting New Jersey Devils after falling to second in the Atlantic Division after two straight losses. The Devils have been playing some terrible hockey as of late, posting a 2-7-1 record over their last ten games. It should be refreshing for the Maple Leafs to face a less potent team after losses at the hands of the Nashville Predators and Boston Bruins.

You'd think that 50 wins would be enough to snag first place but Tampa Bay is right in the mix.

The Florida Panthers visit the Toronto Maple Leafs as the regular season enters the final home stretch. The Panthers find themselves in the midst of a tight battle for the Eastern Conference wildcard spots as they look to crack the playoffs. The Maple Leafs on the other hand, find themselves in a much more comfortable position having already clinched a playoff berth this season. That doesn't mean that there's a lot left on the line though, as while the Panthers fight for their playoff hopes, the Maple Leafs look to continue their winning ways in order to clinch the first seed in the Atlantic Division.

                • Maple Leafs G Michael Hutchinson is out with a lower body injury. He is expected to be out until at least April 6th 2020. The Maple Leafs have recalled G Ian Scott from the Toronto Marlies (AHL).

The Maple Leafs and Senators square off in the Battle of Ontario one last time this season as the Leafs visit the Canadian Tire Centre. The Leafs continue their hunt to clinch the Atlantic Division title after already clinching a playoff berth. The Senators, playing with nothing to lose, look to play spoiler as the regular season comes to a close. Maple Leafs center Auston Matthews sits just four points shy of cracking the 100-point plateau this season. Ian Scott gets the start in net for the Maple Leafs as they look to give starting goalie Frederik Andersen some rest before the playoffs.

                      2020 Stanley Cup Playoff Tree

                      Minnesota Wild vs. Chicago Blackhawks
Look for an even matchup that could go the distance. The Blackhawks roster holds a significant advantage in the playoff experience department led by Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane, but don't count the Minnesota Wild out just yet as they have shown they can handle tough matchups all season long.

Colorado Avalanche vs. San Jose Sharks
Led by the outstanding play of Phiipp Grubauer this season, the Colorado Avalanche will have to find a way to contain the defensive pairing of Erik Karlsson and Brent Burns if they want to have a shot in this series. Karlsson finished the regular season with the most points in the league and has been captaining the Sharks' offence from the back end all season long. The Avalanche will have to be careful with taking penalties against a potent Sharks powerplay.

Vegas Golden Knights vs. Vancouver Canucks
Elias Petterson and the Vancouver Canucks look to be in tough against the hottest and most consistent goaltender in the league in the Golden Knights' Marc-Andre Fleury. Fleury has stood on his head all season for the Golden Knights and leads the league in several statistical categories. If Fleury keeps up his high level of play, this could be a short series.

                      Edmonton Oilers vs. Calgary Flames
The Battle of Alberta takes it to another level as the two western Canada teams square off in the first round of the playoffs. On paper, it seems like a very even matchup, with speedy sensation Connor McDavid getting his first taste of NHL Playoff hockey. Wouldn't be surprised to see this series go the full seven games, with a mixture of controversial hits and high energy hockey to go along with it.

                      Philadelphia Flyers vs. Pittsburgh Penguins
On the other side of the bracket, the Battle of Pennsylvania takes place in the first round with the Flyers and Penguins going toe to toe. Historically, the Penguins have always found a way to come out on top. Led by Sidney Crosby once again, the Penguins look locked and loaded. Don't count the Flyers out though, as they'll definitely work to give the Penguins a run for their money.

Washington Capitals vs. New York Rangers
Many were surprised by the Rangers' regular season and are even more surprised to see them in the playoffs this year. The Capitals, with a roster covered with playoff experience look to make quick work of an inexperience Rangers squad. They'll have to beat Henrik Lundqvist in net though, but the Capitals should be happy with their net presence as well - Braden Holtby has played tremendously well in the second half of the regular season and will look to continue that pace into the playoffs.

Tampa Bay Lightning vs. Boston Bruins
One of these Atlantic Division heavy weights will be going home, but neither will go down without putting up a fight. A favourite to go the full seven games, this series is bound the get feisty. With both rosters featuring a good amount of playoff experience and good goaltending, this may be the matchup to watch in the first round/

Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Carolina Hurricanes
The Maple Leafs finished with the top record in the NHL this season, but that doesn't meant he Carolina Hurricanes should be taken lightly. It'll be interesting to see if the Hurricanes will be able to expose the Leafs' defensive flaws, and whether or not the Leafs will be able to cover their defensive weaknesses by putting up large numbers on the offensive end. The Maple Leafs' potent offence led by Auston Matthews and John Tavares may end up exposing the Hurricanes' lack of goaltending.

Big Second Period Helps Leafs Take Game One From Hurricanes
The Leafs' depth scoring proved to be the difference in game one, as third liners Trevor Moore and Zach Hyman both logged multi-point performances.

Marner, Kapanen Lead Leafs To 2-0 Lead Over Hurricanes
Mitch Marner and Kasperi Kapanen both logged four point performances in a dominant game 2 win over the Hurricanes. The series shifts to Carolina for games 3 and 4 as the Leafs look to take a chokehold on the series.

I mean in an ideal world... It took me two seasons to win a title with the Jays, but it seems like every game I play is even for two periods but there's one period that dictates the outcome of the game.
