Don't jinx it! But in all seriousness, three chances to close out this series.

It's sad your thread is literally the only active Hockey Dynasty going on right now.

It really is a shame. So much potential in the few threads that have popped up recently, but none of them have continued past a few pages.

Yeah sad. I started one but I can't find good sliders. I kinda gave up myself since the lack of the activity on this thread.

Vrana's Hat Trick Keeps Capitals Alive
The Washington Capitals live to see another day as they manage to hold off a surging Maple Leafs squad late to take game four on home ice. Jakub Vrana scored his first career playoff hat-trick in the winning effort. The Leafs look to put an end to the series in game five as the series shifts back to Toronto.

Tavares Leads Leafs To First Finals Appearance Since 1967
Leafs captain John Tavares and NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman take a photo with the Prince of Wales Tropy, given to the Eastern Conference Champions. Tavares' hat trick led the way in the Leafs' 7-3 win over the Capitals in game five. The Leafs went 3-for-3 on the powerplay, as it proved to be a major difference in the win.

The Toronto Maple Leafs and Chicago Blackhawks are set to battle it out in a seven game series in an Original Six rendition of the Stanley Cup final. The Leafs have been on a roll since the puck dropped in the first round of the playoffs, suffering only two losses en-route to a Stanley Cup finals appearance. Auston Matthews has quieted his critics with a historic run through the playoffs so far, leading his team with 29 points (19 goals and 10 assists) through 14 games. All in all, the Leafs have relied heavily on their offense, averaging six goals per game through the first three rounds of playoff hockey.

On the other hand, the Blackhawks have an experience-laden roster headlined by superstar Patrick Kane. Kane leads his team in scoring by a longshot, recording 21 points (8 goals and 13 assists) through 16 games as his team fought hard to get to the Stanley Cup Finals. The Blackhawks have survived thus far on the strength of their penalty kill units, killing off a whopping 91% of the powerplay opportunities against them. It will be interesting to see the special teams matchup, with the Maple Leafs' powerplay unit converting on an impressive 33% of their opportunities.

The seven game series kicks off on May 13th at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, where the Leafs will try to draw first blood on home ice.

It was a costly victory for the Maple Leafs, as they lost first line winger Mitch Marner to an upper body injury in the second period. The skilled forward took a big hit in the corner from Blackhawks forward Ryan Carpenter, and is ruled doubtful for the remainder of the Stanley Cup Finals. Marner currently sits third on the Maple Leafs in scoring, with 26 points in the playoffs so far and has consistently been the team's best two-way forward. Leafs captain John Tavares took exception to the hit, dropping the mitts for a lengthy bout with Carpenter, and was fortunate to avoid injury.

Likewise for the Blackhawks, they'll be without forward Brandon Perilini as he is listed as day-to-day. The young forward took a loud and heavy hit into the boards as Morgan Rielly made contact. Perilini was looking down for the puck in his defensive zone as Rielly pinched in for the hit. The Chicago forward had to be helped off the ice, and is currently under the NHL's concussion protocol.

Hyman's OT Winner Gives Leafs Game 3 Win
Zach Hyman scored two of three Maple Leafs goals, including a pretty deflection on a Ryan Pulock point shot in the overtime period to give the Maple Leafs a game three victory on the road in Chicago. The Leafs will look to take a chokehold on the Stanley Cup Final as they get ready for game four in Chicago on Tuesday.

Nylander's OT Performance Sends Leafs Home With Chance To Win Stanley Cup
For the third game in a row, the Chicago Blackhawks and Toronto Maple Leafs needed extra time to crown a winner. This time, it's William Nylander with the heroic, as the Leafs take two overtime wins on the road and head back to Toronto with a 3-1 lead over the Blackhawks.

Everything was looking in control for the Maple Leafs until Zach Hyman received a five minute major for this hit on Blackhawks forward Alex DeBrincat. The penalty not only put game 5 at risk for Hyman, but also put the Leafs on a lengthy penalty kill in the third period. The Blackhawks would make things interesting, scoring two of their four third period goals on the five minute powerplay and gaining a lot of momentum entering the last half of the third period.

It's still left to be seen whether or not the league will take any disciplinary action on Hyman.

Maple Leafs Win Stanley Cup With Dominant Game 5 Performance
When the final buzzer sounded, the Toronto Maple Leafs became the first Canadian team since 1993 to hoist Lord Stanley's cup. A dominant game 5 performance from the Maple Leafs' first line tied the bow on a magical season.
