Vegas continues slump, SHARKS beat GOLDEN KNIGHTS 6-3...
RECAP 3/18/19
San Jose, CA- The Vegas Golden Knights(24-43-6) continue their "Expansion Hangover" with a 6-3 loss to the Division Champs San Jose Sharks(48-18-7).
Last year the Knights took the League by storm on their way to the Stanley Cup Finals. But a Game 5 loss to the Washington Capitals ended the dream for Vegas.
Now it seems that dream has turned into a nightmare as Vegas has been in a slump this Season. The Second year Franchise from the Desert is having a rough year. Injuries to Jonathan Marchessault, Riley Smith, and Marc Andre Fluery just to name a few have really derailed the Knights 2018-2019 campaign.
Mark Stone, Dave Engelland, and Shea Theodore are still out with injuries.
"It's been a rough year for us with these injuries and everything else. We'll need to get back to work and finish out the year so we can be better next Season." Knights Head Coach Gerard Gallant stated.
With the loss of Players to injuries this year, Vegas has dropped all the way to last in the Western Conference and will be missing out on the Playoffs.
Vegas Rookie Goalie Rock Jacobs was in net tonight as the Knights took on the Sharks. Jacobs had 27 saves but allowed 5 Goals as San Jose took the victory.
San Jose turned to Rookie Joey Backstrom once again and the backup Goalie had 24 saves and allowed 3 Goals.
Sharks Captain Joe Pavelski got the Fins on the board in the Second Period but the Golden Knights quickly responded with a William Karlsson Goal.
Vegas wouldn't stop there.
The Knights took the lead off Erik Haula's slapshot and soon Vegas held a 3-2 lead before San Jose roared back with 3 unanswered Goals.
"Resilient performance by our group. That's the way we've been all year." Sharks Head Coach Peter DeBoer stated.
The Sharks(48-18-7) will head to Los Angeles to play their hated Rivals, the Kings(33-34-5) who was making some noise earlier but due to injuries have fallen off and may be missing out on the Playoffs.Comment

SHARKS win 3 in a row with 5-1 Victory over KINGS...
RECAP 3/21/19
Los Angeles, CA- Tomas Hertl and Rookie Tyler Adams scored twice inside the Staples Center as the San Jose Sharks(49-18-7) beat their hated Rivals, LA Kings(33-35-5) tonight 5-1.
Tyler Toffolli scored for the Kings but Los Angeles wouldn't get anymore points.
"Rough loss for us. San Jose is a really good Team this Season. I won't be surprised if they win the Cup this year." Kings Head Coach John Stevens stated.
Backup Goaltender Joey Backstrom was in net for San Jose as Martin Jones continues to get rest.
Backstrom turned away 21 shots as the Kings struggled to get anything going on Offense.
"He's done a great job for us everytime he's in net." Sharks Head Coach Peter DeBoer stated. "He's just amazing in between the pipes."
Kings backup Goalie Jack Campbell struggled allowing 5 Goals off just 15 shots. He's filling in for the injured Jonathan Quick who is done for the Season with LA more than likely missing the Playoffs.
Los Angeles was making some noise earlier but has now fallen to 13th in the Western Conference and sit 13 points out of a Playoff Spot.
"I have nothing to say about San Jose. We don't like that Team." Kings Defenseman Drew Doughty stated.
San Jose continues it's quest for the President's Trophy as they now have 105 points on the year. Colorado has 99.
"We have our sights set on another Trophy." DeBoer added.
