BRUINS hand SHARKS 3rd straight loss with 3-1 Victory in Boston...

      RECAP

Boston, MA- Tukka Rask had 27 saves as the Boston Bruins(39-20-4) continue their push for the #1 Seed in the Eastern Conference as March approaches. The Bruins sit one point ahead of the defending Stanley Cup Champion Washington Capitals for the 1 Seed in the East.

"We still got a month to go but we're excited for the race to the finish. We would love for nothing more than the Stanley Cup Playoffs to come through the Garden in Boston." Bruins Head Coach Bruce Cassidy stated.

Boston has not missed the Playoffs yet in Cassidy's Tenure since arriving in Boston in 2016.

San Jose(42-16-6) got on the board 1-0 at 6:49 in the 2nd Period off Evander Kane's 17th Goal of the year.

It was a Chess Match from the opening puck drop.

Martin Jones had 28 saves as San Jose(42-16-6) struggled to get past the neutral zone against the Bruins. Led by star Captain Zdeno Chara, the Bruins Defense stiffled San Jose's attack.

David Krejci, Connor O'Malley, and David Pastrnak all scored.

Up 1-0, Boston then came storming back putting up 3 straight unanswered Goals to hand the Sharks their 3rd straight loss sending them back to Northern California.

"Boston is a really tough Team and the way Rask played and how Chara had that Defense playing is simply phenomenal. We're going to have our hands full if we see them in the Stanley Cup. But right now we need to get out of this little slump we're in. We head home now and get ready for Colorado." Sharks Head Coach Peter DeBoer stated.

San Jose beat Boston inside the SAP Center last week on February 18.

The Sharks have gone (1-2-1) on this Road Trip with losses to Columbus, Detroit, and now Boston.

The Fins will head back home and host the Colorado Avalanche(42-17-4) who is hot on the Sharks tail for 1st Place in the Western Conference. San Jose beat the AV's 5-1 back on January 2nd.

SHARKS stand pat at TRADE DEADLINE

As the Trade Deadline is officially over, the San Jose Sharks appear to be happy with the Roster General Manager Doug Wilson has in place. Wilson has made some moves this Season in an attempt to get the Sharks back into the Stanley Cup Final.

Wilson acquired Dennis Seidenberg from the New York Islanders in December and recently got "Overtime Specialist" Brent Seabrook from the Chicago Blackhawks. Wilson also sent Joonas Donskol to the Detroit Red Wings for Draft Picks.

It appears San Jose is now set to finish out the Season and make another run for Lord Stanley.

Here's a quick recap of the Trade Deadline..

Oilers send Defenseman Brandon Manning and a 2nd Round Pick to Wild for Center D. Sokolov and Draft Picks.

SHARKS claim Defenseman Hunter Warner off Waivers from Red Wings

After being traded to the Detroit Red Wings just 3 days ago, Defenseman Hunter Warner was released and placed on Waivers without even suiting up in a Wing Jersey.

"It was a terrible situation honestly. I arrive in Detroit and I'm told they had no interest in me and was placed on Waivers." Hunter Warner stated.

San Jose has officially claimed the 23 year old and will send him down to the AHL Affiliate, San Jose Barracudas where he will more than likely finish out the Season.

              February TOP 10

              1. San Jose Sharks(42-16-6)

              Last Month: 1

San Jose continues to be possibly the hottest Team in the NHL as they keep winning Games and proving people wrong. Despite losses the Sharks are finding ways to win and make another push for the Stanley Cup Finals. Head Coach Peter DeBoer has his Club playing the best Hockey in Franchise History as the Fins just might win the Presidents Trophy. Depending on if Colorado can keep pace then the Western Conference Playoffs should go through the Shark Tank.

              2. Colorado Avalanche(42-18-4)

              Last Month: 2

The Avalanche rebounded in February to keep pace with the Sharks in the Western Conference. The AV's continue to fire on all cylinders with Rookie Jasper Atkinson leading in Goals, Nathan Mackinnon leading in Assists and Colorado has the best Record away from the Pepsi Center on the road. Should be a race to the finish line as the Avalanche will try to claim the 1 Seed in the West away from San Jose.

              3. Washington Capitals(39-22-3)

              Last Month: 6

The defending Champions jump up to the #3 Spot this month after going on a tear in February. Washington went 11-2 to jump up 3 spots on our list and take over the Metropolitan Division with a 7 point lead over 2nd Place Columbus. If Washington continues their tear in the last month of the Season then the Eastern Conference just might go through the Nation's Capital.

              4. Boston Bruins(39-21-4)

              Last Month: 3

Boston steps back a spot this Month as the Bruins had a rough February but still sit in firm control of the Atlantic Division with a 6 point cushion over Buffalo. The Bruins are still in a tight race with Washington for the 1 Seed as they currently hold the 1 seed. If Boston can keep winning to wrap up the Season then the East might have to go through the TD Garden in Beantown.

              5. Nashville Predators(40-21-5)

              Last Month: 7

Nashville continues their climb after becoming the 3rd Team this year to hit the 40 Win mark with Colorado and San Jose. The Predators went on a tear in February winning 8 Games and continues to chase the Avalanche for the Central Division Crown. Nashville will look to wrap up the Season and make another run for the Playoffs in the Music City.

              6. Pittsburgh Penguins(34-24-5)

              Last Month: 4

The Penguins drop in February as Pittsburgh is beginning to feel the loss of Captain Sidney Crosby who is set to return in late April for the Playoffs. However the Penguins will need to keep pushing for that spot as they sit in 6th Place in the Eastern Conference and have a Playoff spot. The Pens will need to finish strong in March and April to ensure that they can get a date with Lord Stanley and make the Playoffs.

              7. New York Rangers(34-24-3)

              Last Month: 5

New York continues to drop as the Rangers fall in the Standings. New York sits in 3rd Place in the Metropolitan Division behind Washington and Columbus. The Rangers have fallen to 5th in the Eastern Conference but if they keep playing well then New York will make a return to the Playoffs. March and April will be crucial for the Rangers.

              8. Edmonton Oilers(33-27-4)

              Last Month: 9

Edmonton finally moves up out of the 9 spot as the Oilers continue to make a little noise in the Western Conference. McLellan has his Squad 6th in the Western and Edmonton is 2nd in the Pacific Division behind San Jose. The Oilers should make the Playoffs finish March and April strong as they look to clinch a spot in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

              9. Arizona Coyotes(30-25-9)

              Last Month: 10

The Coyotes climb up a spot after a decent February where Arizona is now 9th in the Western Conference and are tied with Calgary for a Playoff spot. The acquisition of Blackhawks Icon Jonathan Toews has done wonders in Arizona as the Coyotes will look to finish strong and make a push for the Playoffs.

              10. Chicago Blackhawks(31-28-5)

              Last Month: 8.

Chicago has fallen to 10 on our list as despite a good February winning 8 Games, the Blackhawks have fallen to 10th in the Western Conference and sit 2 points out of a Playoff Spot. The Jonathan Toews Trade to Arizona and sending Brent Seabrook to San Jose seems to have Chicago treading water entering the final Month of the year. If Coach Q can keep Chicago winning Games then the Blackhawks will look to clinch another trip to the Playoffs. March will be crucial for Chicago to see just how the Toews Trade works out.

San Jose, CA- Kicking off March, the San Jose Sharks(43-16-6) did so with authority.

The Fins jumped all over Backup Goalie Kari Lehtonen for 6 Goals off just 14 shots before he was pulled at the start of the 2nd Period with San Jose leading 6-0.

3rd Stringer Spencer Martin allowed another Goal.

Sharks Goalie Martin Jones stopped 16 shots as Colorado was completely dominated inside the Shark Tank.

Colorado was without star Goalie Seymon Varlamov who is out with a Concussion but is due back March 8. Nathan Mackinnon is out for the rest of the year with a Concussion and is due back May 25.

The Sharks(43-16-6) will meet the Chicago Blackhawks(32-28-5) on Sunday Night inside the SAP Center. The Sharks beat the Hawks 4-2 back on December 16 in Chicago.

Meier's Empty Netter seals SHARKS 2-0 Victory over BLACKHAWKS!

                      RECAP 3/3/19

San Jose, CA- Martin Jones stopped 22 shots and got his 9th Shutout of the year, Brent Seabrook picked up an Assist over his former club as the San Jose Sharks(44-16-6) beat the Chicago Blackhawks(32-29-5) 2-0 on Sunday Night.

Corey Crawford stopped 24 shots as the Sharks struggled to score on him. Rookie Justin Callahan got his 13th Goal of his Rookie campaign thanks to an Assist by former Blackhawk Brent Seabrook.

"One of those that got past him. He's one of the best in the league and you're usually not gonna beat him very often." Callahan stated.

Timo Meier's 23rd Goal into an empty net sealed the victory for the Sharks as they continue their push for another Playoff Run with 16 Games left remaining in the Season.

"We know what's in front of us and we're all excited about it. We need to stay focused on finishing out the year as we want Teams to come here in the Playoffs. Our crowd here is amazing." Sharks Head Coach Peter DeBoer stated.

"San Jose is a tough Team this year. You really can't take your foot off the gas against them." Blackhawks Head Coach Coach Q stated.

Chicago(32-29-5) now sits 10th place in the Western Conference. Whats even more of an insult now is that Arizona with Jonathan Toews sits in the Wildcard Spot with the 8th Seed.

San Jose(44-16-6) will rest the rest of the week before hosting the Montreal Canadiens(29-24-13) on Thursday Night inside the SAP Center..

                        RECAP 3/7/19

San Jose, CA- Tomas Hertl's Goal in the first few minutes of the Game set the tone. The Sharks held a 1-0 lead in the First Period until Montreal's Max Domi tied it up.

"Back and fourth there early on. We were able to pull away but it was a nail biter for sure. Montreal didn't quit." Sharks Head Coach Peter DeBoer stated.

Martin Jones turned away 32 shots as the San Jose Sharks(45-16-6) pick up their 3rd straight win after holding off a ferocious Montreal Canadiens(30-25-13) comeback.

San Jose took a 2-1 lead off Timo Meier's Power Play Goal but Montreal wouldn't go away quietly.

"We had our chances but we couldn't capitalize. San Jose will make you pay every time you don't do your job, tonight we didn't do ours." Canadiens Head Coach Claude Julien stated.

Tarasenko, BLUES knock off SHARKS 2-1 in Overtime..

                          RECAP 3/9/19

San Jose, CA- Vladimir Tarasenko scored his 40th Goal of the year as the St. Louis Blues(33-27-8) took a 1-0 lead in the first Period at the 1 minute mark.

But the San Jose Sharks(45-16-7) wouldn't go away quietly.

"We're a Team of resillience and have been all year. We always stick together and find ways to win. We forced OT but just couldn't finish. Tough loss for us and we need to move past it and get ready for Minnesota on Monday Night." Sharks Head Coach Peter DeBoer stated.

Sharks Rookie JJ Hart tied it up in the 2nd Period as Blues Goalie Jake Allen turned away 24 shots inside the SAP Center.

Even with the raucous crowd inside the Shark Tank, St. Louis(33-27-8) made life miserable for the Fins.

Sharks Goalie Martin Jones also stopped 24 shots but fell victim to Vladimir Tarasenko's 2nd Goal of the Game in Overtime as the Blues push their way into a Playoff Spot with just 14 Games left to play.

"A lot can happen in 14 Games. We can only worry about us doing our jobs and doing our best to hold on to the spot we're in. Still a lot of Hockey left. For now we'll enjoy the Win and try to build off it." Blues Head Coach Mike Yeo stated.

San Jose(45-16-7) will head to Minnesota on Monday Night to play the Minnesota Wild(35-28-6).

Yes still in First Place. Vegas has had some serious injuries this year and is like 7th or 8th in the Pacific right now. I'll double check after the Wild Game.
