Nice little win streak you went on. Looks like you'll be a lock for the playoffs.

Yeah looks that way but Edmonton had a 7 game win streak and the Ducks are winning as well. Looks to be a race to the finish line in the Pacific.

Re: ~~Blood in the Water (Reboot)~~ The Story of the San Jose Sharks...

          November TOP 10

          1. Colorado Avalanche(20-5-1)

There is no hotter Team in the NHL right now than the Colorado Avalanche. Colorado jumped out to a 12-0 start and finished November with a NHL best 20-5-1 and 41 points. Rookie Jasper Atkinson leads the NHL with 26 Goals and Goalie Semyon Varlamov leads with 15 wins. The AV's are early favorites to win the President's Trophy and will make the Playoffs if they keep winning.

          2. San Jose Sharks(17-7-3)

Hot on the tail for the #1 spot are the San Jose Sharks. The Fins are in control of the Pacific Division right now but still have a long year ahead as San Jose tries to clinch their first Division Title since 2010-2011 season. DeBoer took this Team to the Stanley Cup Finals his first year in 2015-2016 and has made Playoffs since. Lead by veterans like Joe Thornton and Joe Pavelski, San Jose will look to keep climbing and make a deep run for the Stanley Cup again.

          3. Chicago Blackhawks(15-11-1)

The Blackhawks appear to be back in the mix for a Stanley Cup run. After winning their third Cup in 5 years back in 2015, Chicago took back to back First Round losses and didn't even make the Playoffs last year finishing with just 33 wins. However Coach Q now has his squad climbing the ranks and sit in 3rd in the Central Division. The Blackhawks have Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews leading the way as they look to return to the Playoffs.

          4. Washington Capitals(15-9-1)

The defending Stanley Cup Champions land at #4 as they had a rough start. The Caps were 4-5-1 entering November and looked to be in a Cup hangover. After just winning the Stanley Cup, Coach Barry Trotz left for New York after a Contract dispute. Assistant Todd Reirden was promoted to Head Coach and he will try to lead the Caps to back to back Cups. December looks to be a good step for Washington to climb up our list and the Metropolitan Division.

          5. Boston Bruins(18-7-1)

By far the best Team in the Eastern Conference. The Bruins are out to make a run for the Cup after losing in 5 Games to the Tampa Bay Lightning last year in the Playoffs. Bruce Cassidy has the B's playing great hockey and leading the Atlantic Division by a comfortable 7 points. If Boston keeps this up they should climb up our list in December.

          6. New York Rangers(17-9-1)

Head Coach David Quinn has the Rangers leading the Metropolitan Division and a force in the Eastern Conference. Missing out on the Playoffs last year, New York looks to keep rolling and return to the Post Season and try to get back to the Finals where they last made it in 2014 losing to the Kings.

          7. Pittsburgh Penguins(15-9-1)

The Penguins were coming off back to back Cups and looking to 3peat before losing to the Capitals in the second round last year. Crosby, Malkin, etc are leading the Team and the Pens are tied for 3rd place in the Metropolitan Division. Head Coach Mike Sullivan has led the Pens to back to back Cups and looks to dethrone the Capitals and win a 3rd with Crosby and company.

          8. New Jersey Devils(15-8-2)

Head Coach John Hynes and the Devils are looking to rebound this year after losing in the First Round last year to the Tampa Bay Lightning in 5 games. Using that for motivation, New Jersey has 32 points entering December. If the Devils keep winning they may see themselves higher on our list. December should be a good test for Jersey to see if they're legit enough entering the new year.

          9. Edmonton Oilers(14-9-3)

Former Sharks Head Coach Todd McLellan has something special going on in Edmonton as the Oilers went on a 7 game winning streak in November. It also helps when you have arguably the best Player in Hockey, Connor McDavid. The Oilers are looking to rebound after missing the Playoffs last year. If Edmonton continues to win then we may see another Playoff matchup with the Oilers and McLellan's old Team, San Jose.

          10. Nashville Predators(15-10-2)

Rounding out our list are the Nashville Predators. Nashville has had a nice start going 7-4-1 and then losing some but sit good in the Central Division. If Nashville can stay consistent in December they will climb higher on our list. That shouldn't be a problem considering the man behind the bench is a Stanley Cup Winning Head Coach, Peter Laviolette.

SHARKS end CANADIENS 4 game win streak with 5-0 shutout in Montreal..

            RECAP

Montreal, CA- The Habs(13-11-1) had a nice 4 game winning streak coming into tonight's matchup with the San Jose Sharks(18-7-1).

            And it's gone.

San Jose crushed the Canadiens 5-0 off Rookie Goalie's Joey Backstrom's first NHL Shutout as he made his 5th start moving his record to (5-0)

"Everytime he's in between the pipes on Jonesy night off he's a brick wall for us. I think with every start he gets his confidence just goes through the roof." Sharks Head Coach Peter Deboer said.

Backstrom turned away 22 shots as the Habs struggled to get any offense going thanks to San Jose's pressure.

Montreal(13-11-1) got an opportunity with a Power Play but thanks to a turnover, Sharks Veteran Joe Thornton scored. Moments later Captain Joe Pavelski scored and San Jose(18-7-1) had a 2-0 lead inside the Bell Centre.

Montreal went 0/2 on the Power Play.

Habs Goaltender Carey Price had the night off and backup Goalie Charlie Lindgren struggled against the fast paced Offense San Jose Sharks giving up 5 goals and turning away 30 shots.

"He handled himself pretty good despite the scoreboard I thought. Exactly why we wanted to leave him there and give him some confidence." Canadiens Head Coach Claude Julien stated.

San Jose, CA- The San Jose Sharks(19-7-3) win over the Carolina Hurricanes(13-11-3) tonight was the definition of an ugly win.

"Absolutely it was ugly. We were way to sloppy and made tons of mistakes. We gave up too many penalties, got careless with the puck. Absolutely hands down our worst performance this year. Lot to clean up before we play Dallas on Friday." Sharks Head Coach Peter DeBoer said.

In the first period Carolina went on the Power Play but San Jose shut it down with a Timo Meier goal for a 1-0 lead.

"We felt good right there but then we fell apart." Timo stated.

The Sharks would get worse as they got careless in the second period. Carolina was gifted 8 Power Plays tonight as the Sharks spent 21 minutes in the box.

However the Canes failed to capitalize on their 8 plays only converting just one of them.

"That was our downfall honestly. We were given 8 Power Plays and only scored once. That is absolutely embarrassing. That's the thing about San Jose though, they'll make you pay if you don't capitalize and they did that tonight." Canes Head Coach Rod Brind'Amour stated.

"Yeah it left a bad taste in our mouthes. We're not happy but we can only blame ourselves." Canes Captain Justin Williams said.

Andrei Svechnikov scored to tie the game at 1 a piece in the 3rd. Jordan Staal then got a rebound goal as it looked like Carolina(13-11-3) was gonna steal one from San Jose(19-7-3). Petr Mrazek had 40 saves but Sharks Alternate Captain Logan Couture beat him to the net for the game winner.

"We were just sloppy tonight. Absolutely. Unnecesary penalties. Just not our best hockey. We're a better team than that." Couture stated.

The Canes led 2-1 in the final 2 minutes of the 3rd period until Sharks Rookie Justin Callahan scored his 4th goal to tie the game sending the Shark Tank into a frenzy.

Logan Couture got the Game Winner in the first 5 minutes of Overtime for the 3-2 victory.

Rookie Goalie Joey Backstrom(6-0) picks up another victory as Martin Jones had the night off.

On Friday December 7, the Sharks(19-7-3) head to Dallas to play the Stars(11-16-1).

San Jose beat Dallas 7-2 back on November 8 spoiling Jason Mezza's Silver Stick night in front of the Stars faithful.

The Sharks have won 3 in a row.

Dallas, TX- The Dallas Stars(12-16-1) haven't forgot when the San Jose Sharks(19-8-3) came into the American Airlines Arena on November 8 and won 7-2 to spoil Jason Spezza's night.

"Yeah we didn't forget. We don't get to caught up on revenge though, this was about winning a Hockey game." Stars Head Coach Jim Montgomery said.

Tonight Dallas got some revenge on San Jose shutting them out 3-0 off Goalie Ben Bishop's 11 saves as the Sharks struggled.

"We just never got in a rhythm tonight. Give Dallas credit they shut us down very well tonight. We have to forget the loss quickly and get ready for the next one, we head to Arizona now." Sharks Head Coach Peter DeBoer stated.

Martin Jones had 24 saves and Jason Spezza got some payback as his empty netter goal sealed the win for the Stars.

                Jamie Benn scored twice.

COYOTES blow 3 goal lead, fall to SHARKS 5-4 in overtime...

                  RECAP

Glendale, AZ- San Jose(20-8-3) never quit as they fell behind 4-1 in Arizona to the Coyotes.

The Sharks got on the board in the first period off Timo Meier's 11th goal of the year.

But Arizona then came storming the net where Rookie Goalie Joey Backstrom was making his 7th start. The Coyotes threw 52 shots at the Rookie and took a 4-1 lead in the third period.

But San Jose rolled back following Captain Joe Pavelski's 2 goals that cut the Arizona lead 4-3 midway through the final period.

Sharks Defenseman Marc Vlasic scored to tie the game forcing overtime.

Then Rookie JJ Hart scored in Overtime to complete the epic comeback for San Jose.

                    RECAP

San Jose, CA- Justin Callahan, Evander Kane, Joe Thornton, Timo Meier, Erik Karlsson, and J.J Hart all scored for the Sharks(21-8-3) who shut out the New Jersey Devils(16-11-2).

Rookie Goalie Joey Backstrom(8-0) had 21 saves as he continues to contribute between the pipes.

"It's amazing to have a guy like that between the pipes. Joey has been doing an amazing job in his very short Career here in the NHL. We're lucky to have him and the things he's doing." Sharks Head Coach Peter DeBoer stated.

SHARKS win 3 in a row! beat STARS 4-2!

                      RECAP

San Jose, CA- The struggles continue for the Dallas Stars(13-18-1) who continue to drop in the Western Conference. The red hot San Jose Sharks(22-8-3) continue to find ways to win and stay atop of the Pacific Division with 47 points and 9 points ahead of second place Calgary.

Joe Pavelski, Tyler Adams, Brent Burns, and Dennis Seidenberg all scored for the Sharks as newly acquired Seidenberg got his first Goal of the year and first in a Sharks Uniform since being traded from the Islanders.

Barclay Goodrow was sent down to make a roster spot for the 37 year old Veteran Defenseman.

"Happy to be here in San Jose and happy to help this Team win some games." Seidenberg stated.

Rookie Goalie Joey Backstrom(9-0) turned away 40 shots as he continues to be a brick wall between the pipes in Jones off time.

Stars Goalie Ben Bishop had 41 saves.

Rookie Charlie Baines and Alexander Radulov both scored for Dallas but San Jose pulled away in the Third Period for a 4-2 victory.

San Jose(22-8-3) will travel to Chicago on December 16 for a matchup with the Blackhawks(17-14-3).

BLACKHAWKS lose 5th straight thanks to SHARKS epic comeback in Third Period 4-2...

                        RECAP

Chicago, IL- Joe Pavelski scored twice, Logan Couture and Justin Callahan each scored and the San Jose Sharks(23-8-3) came back to beat the Chicago Blackhawks(17-15-3) on Sunday night inside the United Center.

With the win, the Sharks have now won 4 in a row while Chicago drops it's 5th straight game.

"We need to figure out how to close games. We were up two goals and let it slip it away from us. We kinda just let our foot off the gas there." Blackhawks Coach Q stated.

Martin Jones had 18 saves as Chicago struggled to get SOG's after a 2-0 lead in the first period.

Corey Crawford had 29 saves. Dylan Strome and Domink Kahun had goals for the Hawks.

Chicago(17-15-3) took a 2-0 lead in the first as it looked like the Blackhawks would snap their 4 game losing streak.

But then San Jose(23-8-3) dug deep and rattled off three straight Goals in the Third Period to complete the comeback.

"That's the thing about our group. We never quit. The guys keep finding ways to win." Sharks Head Coach Peter DeBoer stated.

"We have a lot of confidence in our room. We always feel like no matter what the deficit is we can find ways to win." Sharks Captain Joe Pavelski stated.

With the loss, Chicago finds themselves one point out of the Playoff Picture in the Western Conference.

They sit behind Nashville in the Central Division.

"Still a long road ahead but if we don't get out of our little slump now then we're in trouble. We need to find that belief we have." Blackhawks Captain Jonathan Toews stated.

San Jose is still running away with the Pacific Division with 49 Points, 11 more than the Arizona Coyotes.

Sharks Defensemen Brent Burns left the game early with a strained Hamstring and is set to return Christmas Eve.

"I felt a small tightness. Doc says I'll be fine." Burns stated.

This marks the Sharks first injury of the 2018-2019 campaign as the Team has been healthy all year.

The Sharks head to Minnesota on Tuesday Night with a matchup with the Minnesota Wild(16-15-1.)

St. Paul, MN- After tonight's 4-3 victory over the Minnesota Wild(16-15-2), the San Jose Sharks(24-8-3) have won 5 straight.

And they did it by digging deep and never quitting.

"We have a lot of heart in this locker room. The guys in here just don't quit." Sharks Head Coach Pete DeBoer said. "They score, we tie, they score, we tie. Never quit."

                          That's how it was.

The Wild got on the board first with a Zack Latta goal. Logan Couture tied it.

"That's the thing about San Jose they never quit." Wild Head Coach Bruce Boudreau stated.

Evander Kane and Timo Meier would both score for the Sharks as Meier's Goal tied the game with just 13 seconds left.

"No quit. We feel like we can compete with anyone." Meier said.

In Overtime, Sharks Veteran and Alternate Captain Joe Thornton scored the overtime winner for the 4-3 victory.

"Been here awhile and everytime you score a Game Winning Goal it's always special. We're trying to win a Stanley Cup this year." Thornton said.

Sharks Goalie Martin Jones turned away 28 shots to help the Fins win their 5th straight.

Zack Latta scored twice and Wild Goalie Devan Dubnyk had 23 saves.

Minnesota(16-15-2) went 0 for 4 on the Power Play with their last one in Overtime resulted in a turnover and the Thornton GWG.

"We need to be much better on the Power Play. San Jose will make you pay if you make a mistake. Tonight we made mistakes." Wild Head Coach Bruce Boudreau stated.

The Sharks(24-8-3) will head home as they prepare for a 4 game Homestand on Thursday Night December 20.

San Jose, CA- In what could be a preview of a Western Conference Playoff Series, the San Jose Sharks(25-8-3) went toe to toe with the Winnipeg Jets(20-12-3) Thursday night December 20.

"We feel pretty confident that we can compete with them if we need to come back here in April. That's a really good Hockey Team over there." Jets Head Coach Paul Maurice stated.

Sharks Captain Joe Pavelski scored twice, Joe Thornton, Kevin LaBanc, Timo Meier, and Joonas Donskoi all followed for San Jose.

Jets Captain Blake Wheeler, Josh Morrissey, and Jack Roslovic scored.

Winnipeg struggled on the Power Play going just one for four as San Jose's Penalty Kill unit ranks one of the best in the NHL.

"We had our chances just came up short. You can't do that against the Sharks." Jets Captain Blake Wheeler stated.

The Sharks went 1/1 thanks to a Kevin LaBanc empty netter on the PP.

Goalie Martin Jones turned away 39 shots. Jets Goalie Connor Hellebuyck had 24 saves.

San Jose(25-8-3) have won 6 in a row after victories over the Arizona Coyotes, New Jersey Devils, Dallas Stars, Chicago Blackhawks, and Minnesota Wild.

"We're playing great Hockey right now. We're a tough Team to beat when we play like that. The guys in here are all excited for what's to come in front of us." Sharks Head Coach Peter DeBoer stated.

The Sharks continue their 4 game homestand with a matchup against the Los Angeles Kings(14-20-1) who have been struggling this year.

                                RECAP

San Jose, CA- Tomas Hertl's hat trick lead the way for the San Jose Sharks(26-8-3) 7th straight win.

"It's exciting for us this year cause we feel we the better Team." Hertl said.

Sharks Rookie Justin Callahan scored twice and San Jose got some revenge on their Rivals, the Los Angeles Kings(14-21-1).

On October 5, the Kings beat the Sharks 3-1 in Los Angeles.

"We didn't forget about that loss." Sharks Forward Evander Kane said. "We wanted to return the favor especially after Drew (Doughty) runs his mouth."

                                Drew Doughty fired back.

"They won tonight cool. I got two rings on my shelf at home while they haven't won anything in their lifetime." Doughty replied.

The inconsistencies continue for the L.A Kings who drop their 4th straight. Former Coach Darryl Sutter retired at the end of last Season after being fired on April 10, 2017 making room for John Stevens who took over during the 2017-2018 campaign where the Kings were swept by the Golden Knights in the First Round.

"We're up and down right now. Been in a slump this year and we need to get out of this funk." Kings Head Coach John Stevens said.

Sharks Rookie Goalie Joey Backstrom(10-0) turned away 29 shots.

"He's just a brick wall between the pipes." Sharks Head Coach Peter DeBoer said. "We feel confident he can hold goals off the board when we need to give Jones some rest."

The Kings had goals from Jeff Carter, Alex Lafallo, and Captain Anze Kopitar.

Kings Goaltender Jonathan Quick(11-15-1) gave up 5 Goals on 30 shots but turned away 25 of them before being pulled midway through the Third Period for Jack Campbell.

The Kings were 1/2 on the Powerplay while San Jose was 1/1 thanks to the first Goal of Tomas Hertl that broke a 0-0 tie in the Second Period.

San Jose's Power Kill unit ranks among the best in the NHL.

The Sharks(26-8-3) will host the Arizona Coyotes(19-12-4) tomorrow night on Sunday December 23.

San Jose had a 5-4 Overtime win against the Coyotes back on December 8 in Arizona.
