Re: Mr. Second Place: An Autobiographical Tale of Alvin Allen (Fifa 13)
IFK Goteburg v. AC Milan
Europa League
Round of 32 - 2nd Leg
Goteburg (4-4-1-1) Milan (4-3-3) GK Alvbage GK Brkic RB Lund RB De Sciglio RCB Dyrestom RCB Trellez LCB Bjarsmyr LCB Bonera LB Valgarosson LB Constant RM Allansson RCM Boateng RCM Gerzic CDM de Jong LCM Milanov LCM Paulinho LM Barkroth RW Robinho CF Soder CF Allen ST Ericsson LW El Shaarawy
Milan would head home, down a surprising 2-1 aggregate score from their first meeting with IFK Goteburg. Determination lined every brow of the team as they weren’t willing to have another ppor performance against this team, especially at home in front of the fans at San Siro. Draped in the black alternate uniforms, Milan was ready to deal some damage.
It was all Milan early, as great passing freed up the club to press forward with offensive football. Allen would pass to Boateng in the middle, and he would one time it inside to Paulinho. The defense was caught off guard as Paulinho would fake shot causing Alvbage to bite, and Paulinho would make the extra pass across his face to a wide open El Shaarawy who would tap it in for the easy goal.
Milan would control the ball for the rest of the first half, teeing off on the keeper whenever they got a chance. Allen would get his turn off a nice pass from de Jong in the middle. Allen would make the quick turn and sprint to his right, send a shot with his right foot that would just sail wide of the target. This was the theme of this first half, as it seemed that Milan was just a step quicker in all facets of the game. Goteburg was always just a slight bit late on the ball. Boateng was clearly outmatching Barkroth in the middle, and he would use the give and go with de Jong to burst through the back line with strength. Boateng would finesse the ball into the corner for the goal and the 2-0 lead just before the half.
Allen's right footed goal put the game out of Goteburg's reach
Allen would get in on the action at the beginning of the second half on an almost identical play to the first time he had a chance. Allen would get the ball on the left just outside the penalty area again, and this time would turn to face up against his defender Dyrestam. He would fake left, the sprint right while extending his left arm to keep the defender away. He would send in a rocket with his right foot that Alvbage had no chance to catch up to, and Milan would find themselves up 3-0 in a blowout early in the second half.
Goteburg would finally get a chance at the end of the match, but it was too late. Hysen would give to Ericsson, who would push the ball out wide to Johansson. Johansson would send in the cross, but De Sciglio would head it away with authority. Montolivo would scoop it up and the counter attack was on. He would give to Muntari, and Muntari would head up the wing before cutting back inside with pace as he was freshly subbed in. Muntari got Bjarsmyr to bite, coming forward, and would send the through pass to a wide open Allen who was one on one with the keeper. Allen would take it in stride, not even giving the Alvbage a chance to come out and would hit a powerful shot into the upper left hand corner of the net for the final goal of the match. The final whistle would blow, and Goteburg would find themselves the embarrassed losers to a resurgent Milan team, 4-0.

Summary:
Milan would have another short turn around as they would travel to Napoli just 2 days after their victory over Goteburg in the Europa League. Napoli would look to show no mercy as they were looking to climb out of their mid table place by getting three points against a tired Milan team. One player who showed no signs of fatigue was Allen, who would put Milan up early with a beautiful curling finesse shot from just inside the penalty area that would bend just inside the far post for a sleek goal (*author's note*- kicking myself for not taking a pic of that awesome goal). Napoli was not going down without a fight, however, as their strategy of switching field of play and long passes was running the Milan midfield ragged. Napoli would get their chance as Zuniga would send forward a long lob up the wing to Dumitrv, and he would then cross the ball inside to Pandev. He would connect, sending the header on a bounce into the bottom corner of the net to even things up. Halftime was definitely needed for Milan, and on the restart they would capitalize with an El Shaaway run fed by Strasser up the gut of the Napoli. Frison didn't stand a chance as El Shaaway would bend a ball just inside the left post for the goal. Napoli would answer back, creating chances in Milan territory an ultimately winning a corner kick. Zuniga would send it in, and this time Britos would sky above all others and head home a strike, evening up the match. Late in the game as Milan began to drag, who other than Allen puts the team on his back to secure the win. He would get a ball from Montolivo, heel chop inside past Fernandez, and hit a shot with the outside of his right foot into the bottom corner just out of Frison's reach. El Shaarawy would add a 90' goal to give a two goal cushion and to finsih the match for a 4-2 win for Milan.

Re: Mr. Second Place: An Autobiographical Tale of Alvin Allen (Fifa 13)
Sure I was tired. Sure I was in pain. But I didn’t care. That was what A-81 did to me. I sat in the locker room after the game oblivious to the excited chatter of teammates. I’d been playing out of my mind since I started taking it. I felt when I took it I could see the field better. It was like the game was in slow motion. I felt centered on one thing only, and that was winning. My mind flashed back to that meeting room as Leo explained A-81.
“We call it A-81,” I remembered him saying.
“A-81?” I asked. “Why?”
“Well it’s full name is Adrenaline-81, because it took us 81 different tries to get the formula right. Plus, A-81 is very catchy. Our market research says it’s a good name.”
“Ok Leo, what’s the catch?” I smirked.
“There is no catch,” he started, “All it does is enhance your focus.”
“I have enough focus, thanks,” I replied. “I’ll push your product, but I’m not taking anything. Sounds a bit like doping.”
“Alvin…” Leo frowned.
“Alvin just add it to your regiment,” A.T. spoke up.
“Performance enhancement.” Madame Apuzzo interrupted loudly. Everyone quieted down. The Madame stood up and began to pace the room.
“For years we have associated the term with cheating. Steroids, HGH, EPO are all things that alter the body physically. What if we were able to alter it mentally?”
“I’d still call it cheating,” I mumbled.
“Cheating?” she said as she raised her voice. “How is it wrong to use one’s mind to its full capacity? A-81 doesn’t give you anything that you don’t already have. It just allows you to achieve your full potential.”
“I still don’t know,” I began.
“I assure you that we have already been in talks with FIFA over A-81’s use and it is completely legal under their guidelines. We have their full support. You will be the first in the wave of better players playing a better brand of football,” she smiled. “You will be the next generation of sport. What better place to start than the world’s most popular one?”
I’d been taking the little red pills ever since that day, once a day, everyday. The weird thing was that although I felt more in control on the football field, I felt out of place off the field. It was as if I couldn’t turn my focus off. I would key in on every word of a conversation but without the emotional response to accompany it. Frankly, A-81 made me emotionally numb.
On the flight home to Milan, I couldn’t help but think how this was affecting my relationship with Gabby. We had grown distant over the last month, and it was probably due to my new found supplement. I was using this as an excuse to push her away, but I didn’t care. I had finally found something that let me push away the guilt gnawing away at me over Quinn’s death. Even that was somewhere deep inside me, but with A-81, it wasn’t something I could dwell on. The only thing to focus on was the present, the clouds moving slowly by, the tapping of Muntari’s finger on the window, Boateng’s snoring, the way the light blinked constantly on the wing. I was at peace, I was…I was high.
The realization came at an instant and immediately snapped me out of my stupor. I instinctively reached for the piece of paper in my pocket, but I realized I hadn’t carried it on me since I started taking this drug. That’s what it was. It was a drug. I didn’t know how the pieces fit together, but somehow this drug was related to everything. This was the key. Me, Theo, Leo, Genneskunde, Brazil, APP, and now A-81. By the time I got off the plane and into the taxi back home I was shaking. I threw the money at the cabbie and rushed inside to my house.
“Where is it?” I screamed, frantically searching for my lost piece of paper. I overturned everything in the house. I had to find it. It was the only thing that could make the world right. It was the only thing that was right in my God forsaken world.
“Answers you’ve been looking for…” Mr. Helms voice kept echoing inside my mind.
“Answers you’ve been looking for…” The voice turned into Quinn’s, over and over as it repeated. I don’t know when I began to cry, but somehow I found myself lying on my living room floor, huddled in a ball holding on to a crumpled up piece of paper. I don’t know how long I was lying there. What was wrong with me? I had to fix this. I sat up and unrolled the piece of paper. The number I had looked at so many times seemed as if it was staring back at me. I grabbed the phone off the floor and dialed the number. A man’s voice immediately answered.
“Mr. Allen, are you ready to learn the truth?”KaBoom

Re: Mr. Second Place: An Autobiographical Tale of Alvin Allen (Fifa 13)
It had been a couple days since my episode in my home. Mr. Helms wanted to meet me, and I quickly obliged by taking the first flight out of Milan to Paris. A car met me and drove me directly to a non-descript building in the city limits. I got out of the vehicle and was escorted by two well dressed gentlemen into the building. We took an elevator down to some sort of sub level in the facility from which we walked down a long, narrow hallway which opened to a large room filled will cubicles. At the end of the room was an office to which I was quickly taken, and there behind a nondescript desk sat the man I had met at Quinn’s funeral, the mysterious Mr. Helms. He motioned for me to sit across from him and as I took the chair he pushed a small cup with two white pills and a bottle of water towards me.
“What’s that?” I asked warily. I looked around the room and realized there were no pictures, personal effects, or even windows in this office. I glanced at the door and realized the guys who had escorted me here were now flanking the door on both sides.
“Your long term use of A-81 has altered some of your simple nervous system responses. Take this, it will help,” he said as he nodded towards the pills.
“First of all, I don’t know you, so I’m not taking any of your pills,” I said angrily. “Secondly, I came on my own accord and don’t appreciate being treated like a prisoner by your two goons blocking the door.”
Mr. Helms grinned slightly. “Take the pills, or I’ll have my two goons as you called them force them down your throat. I’d prefer to keep this meeting cordial, but before we can speak I need you be aware and you can’t be as long as that drug is in your system.”
I growled in frustration, but I took the pills willingly. Suddenly everything grew dark and I was out cold.
I awoke to a beautiful morning view of Paris from a balcony window. I was in a bed, clothed in a hospital gown with tubs and machines strapped to my body. As I gathered my thoughts, I started to remember how I got here. I began to panic as I tried to get out of bed, but I was so weak I collapsed right back into the same spot. As I got up to try again, the door opened. It was Mr. Helms.
“Where am I? What did you do to me?” I yelled weakly.
“Ah, good to see you are awake, Alvin,” he replied. “We ran some tests on your system to catalogue the effects of the final version of A-81. We had been in the dark on its exact effects, so thank you for your cooperation.”
“What gives you the right? What are you, some kind of rival pharmaceutical company?” I growled.
Mr. Helms continued, “Far from it Alvin. We have been investigating the Valente and Apuzzo families for a long time in relation to a host of other criminal enterprises.”
“So you worked with Quinn and the DEA?” I asked as I sat up in the bed with effort.
Mr. Helmes pulled up a chair and sat next to the bed. “Alvin, Quinn wasn’t completely truthful with you. We did in fact work together, but for a different agency. You are at one of our Interpol locations in France.
“Interpol?” I asked. “So this is bigger than just the United States?”
“Absolutely,” he continued. “We are a special branch of Interpol called the Global Special Operatives, or G-Sop for short. We take care of the extra complicated international criminal activities for Interpol. Quinn was one of our top agents.”
“So what was she doing with Theo?” I asked, listening intently.
“Quinn was investigating Theodore Williams prominent rise to power in the United States drug scene. We had a feeling that his rise was orchestrated by a larger entity with a bigger goal. Our hunch proved to be right as we learned about the Rio de Janiero connection.”
I flashed back to that fateful night in my mind, picturing Quinn’s lifeless eyes staring up at me. I shuddered. “So why Brazil? Why did Leo and the Madame go through all that trouble using Theo and Vinny for APP, just to toss it to the side?”
Mr. Helmes answered, “Because they are still using APP, albeit in a different form. They used APP in order to formulate Adrenaline-81, or A-81 as you call it.
I was shocked. “So A-81 is really a drug?”
“Yes and no,” Mr. Helms tried to explain. “APP was just the last step in a long line of experiments for Genneskunde Pharmaceuticals. They found a way to synthetically create a compound that affects the brain chemistry to make someone more focused on a task. There was never any MDMA in APP. APP was nothing more than an illegal human trial of A-81 that they used on a mass population of people.
“So why me?” I asked. “Why are they all really interested in me?”
“Isn’t that simple?” Mr. Helms said grimly. “You’ll bring A-81 to mass market. The process has already begun.” Mr. Helms stood up from his chair. “Alvin, we need you to stop this. You’ve seen its affects on you and you’ve only been on A-81 for a little while. A-81 is nothing more than a drug and we want to expose it for its true nature.”
“Ok,” I said, “What do you need?”
Mr. Helms grinned, “We want you to work with us, to not only bring down A-81, but to expose the crimanl enterprises of Geneskunde and Valente Corp.”
I sighed to myself, “Will I ever just get to play soccer in peace? So now I’m just supposed to drop everything and be some sort of undercover super spy?”
Mr. Helms laughed heartily, “Just think of yourself as a consultant who doesn’t want to get caught.”
I laughed a bit and then got serious. “I do want to be one of the good guys. Quinn taught me that. But, Mr. Helms, my brother A.T is in deep. I don’t want any blowback on him. If I do this for you, my family is off limits.”
“Deal,” he said as he shook my hand. “Welcome to G-Sop, Mr. Allen.”
“Yeah, ok thanks,” I said, “Now can you get me out of here? I’ve got a game to get to.”
"Yeah, about that," Mr. Helms shrugged, "We've had you here for 3 days. You missed the match."
"Ugh," I groaned, "I can see I'm going to love working with you already."Last edited by moblipeg; 09-15-2013, 09:30 AM.KaBoom

Summary:
This battle between well acquainted foes Milan and Inter had a sense of deja vu about it as these teams has both team just faced each other in the Coppa Italia competition. Many believed that the game would be a let down since these teams just faced one another, but it was just as exciting as their other competitions, especially since both teams were battling for the Serie A championship. Inter would get going quickly as they scored on a beautiful pass from Longo to Chicharito inside that he would put into the corner past Brkic for the first goal. El Shaarawy would answer in the 26' off a cross from Abate that would deflect off of Nicu and bounce right to him. El Shaarawy would finish easily, tying the game at 1-1. Emanuelson would add another goal quickly for Milan, as Allen would lob a ball over the top just past the back line that Emanuelson would strike into the top corner. This high scoring affair was far from over as Leandro Daimo would get a goal in the 47', followed by Allen adding one a couple minutes later. Leandro Daimo would equalize in the 73' as Brkic would charge a loose bouncing ball and Leandro Daimo would just get his head on it, putting it into the back of the net. The game was tied 3-3, but El Shaarawy would bring it home for Milan, scoring a rocket right footer from Boateng in the 84'. This was a nightmare game for both Handanovic and Brkic, but only one would have it affect his loss record as Milan grabs the victory over its hated rival.

The Europa League competition moves on to the round of 16 with two formidable teams ready to give there all in front of the hometown Portuguese fans. Both Milan and Benfica find themselves here after leaving the Champions League group stage in disappointing fashion. Each team would like to prove themselves by winning the Europa League title, but only one will advance.
Unfortunately, the first leg of this battle was marred by injury as two Milan players within the first 12’ of the game. Boateng came down hard on his back after a contested header in the 5’ and had to be carted off the field, and soon after Emanuelson would limp off the field holding his arm after a similar situation. This would greatly affect team morale, and Benfica would take advantage.
The match would begin with Benfica taking control of the match early as their attacking style seemed to exploit Milan’s left side of the field, as Salvio and Perez pushed up that side to give Nelson Oliveira some chances at runs early. On one such run, Pereira would push way up the field, giving to Matic back into the middle. He would hit Salvio out wide, who would give right back to Matic inside the box as he would just sneak past Mexes. Matic would take the shot, but Brkic would get a hand on it deflecting it up into the air. An opportunistic Nelson Oliveria would find it with his head on the rebound, putting it into the wide open goal for Benfica to take the 1-0 lead.
Milan would get their chance on the restart, controlling possession and pressing up with Paulinho in the midfield as he had to take the reins as Boateng had done for this club. He would find Allen in the middle who would work his magic to get a step on Sidnei and send one at the keeper, but the ball would head right to Artur Moraes and he would easily punt the ball away. Milan would regain possession, this time coming up the wing with Pato playing in the unfamiliar possession on the right side. He would try to give to de Jong in the middle, but the ball would be tackled away by Melgarejo and off Benfica went on the counter attack. He would continue his run after the tackle, deep into Milan territory on the left side. A streaking Nelson Oliveira broke free in the middle and Melgarejo would send forward the long lob, hitting the striker in stride. Nelson Oliveira wouldn’t disappoint, finishing the incredible pass by putting it past Brkic for his second goal of the match and the 2-0 Benfica lead.
Nelson Oliveira just sneaks the ball past Brkic in the 34'
Many forget that before Alvin Allen came to Milan, they had another fantastic striker in Pato that could put the ball into the net. He would do just that as quickly after the restart he would carve through that back line almost single handedly, pushing past Gaitan and Sidnei fake shotting inside and putting the finesse shot into the back of the net. The excellent goal caught Benfica off guard as Milan scored almost immediately after the restart, getting that crucial away goal to keep them in the match. The half would end with Milan feeling more at ease, only having to deal with a 1 goal deficit after the disastrous first half that saw them lose two key contributors.
Milan would come out of the break firing on all cylinders. Paulinho played like a man possessed, controlling play in the middle. He would find Allen out wide sprinting up the right wing, switching with Pato on that side. He would slide to ball to de Jong just outside the penalty area, who would then one time it to a cutting Paulinho inside the box just inside of Garay. He would one time it home into the upper corner that Artur Moraes had not shot of getting to.
From that point, the hometown team Benfica would catch fire as it seemed as if Milan was content to control possession, enjoying the 2 away goals they had gotten in the match. Benfica would win 5 corner kicks in the second half, but none would be able to be converted as the backline of Abate, Acerbi, Mexes, and Didac held strong for Milan. Nelson Oliveira would get a couple more chances to complete his hat trick, the best of these off a rebound on a corner, but Brkic came up with a big save after some early struggles against Benfica. The match would end with Milan barely hanging on to the draw, but they seemed content to head back home with their two away goals. SL Benfica will have to come up big if they expect to take the 2nd leg as this game would end in a 2-2 draw.

Injury Bug Bites AC Milan
by Davide Siviglia
How will Milan fair without their leader?
We have unfortunate news coming out of Milan today as the team announced that one of their star players, midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng, will be out for the rest of the season with what we understand to be a severely broken tailbone. Doctors estimate his time out will be between 4-6 months. Undoubtedly this is a big blow for the squad who were looking to solidfy their midfield with their new signing Paulinho and veteran de Jong to compliment Baoteng's uncanny vision in the middle of the field. Now it appears as if Muntari and Montolivo will once again share the load to make up for this tremendous loss.
Another blow to the midfield depth is the injury to Emanuelson who also had to leave the last game with injury. Trainers all calling it a sprained elbow, and news is he will be out for at least a month. Both of these injuries will greatly affect Milan's lineup flexibility in future matches. Look for Carmona to see increased time in the midfield and on the wings. The team is currently in Serie A, and they have an upcoming matchup with first place Juventus for the the of the league standings. For their sakes, hopefully the can pull together after this rough stretch and finish the last quarter of the season strongly.KaBoom

Summary:
You could call Milan many things in the match. Road warriors. Second half scrappers. Cardiac kids. But the main thing you can call Milan after this match is the first place club in Serie A. Juventus controlled play for the entire first half, taking advantage of a tired Milan team that was fighting the injury bug something fierce. In the 39', things broke open for Juventus. Isla would take a shot that deflected off of Acerbi to win them a corner. Asamoah would head to the spot, sending in a high arcing ball into the near post goal area. Brkic would come out, but he wouldn't get a hand on it as Bendtner would beat him to the spot, heading the ball down just inside the post for the goal. Juventus looked like they would take the match as the had dominated possession, but just before the half, Milan would make a small counter attack led by Strasser and Allen in the middle. They found themselves two on two in the 45', when Strasser would hit a through ball to Allen. He would turn on the jets, leaving Chiellini in the dust with no one to beat, hitting a perfect strike into to botom right corner with his right foot to even the game up just before the half. This seemed to give Milan energy heading into the second half, and, boy, what a second half it was. Milan would control the ball for almost the entire half, putting the home team on their heels. A long buildup would result in a goal in the 57', as de Jong would pass it to Muntari just out the penalty area. He would send it through on a gorgeous pass the Allen would one time home for the goal. The Allen show would continue as another long build up would be finished on a give and go with Carmona up the wing, freeing Carmona inside for a finesse bender that Muslera had no chance of reaching in the 78'. The onslaught would end with a 90' goal by El Shaarawy off a long ball sent from Allen up the middle of the field that would deflect off of the back of Barzagli's head, bouncing right to a streaking El Shaarawy who would put it home. An excellent showing by Milan has got to have Juventus asking questions on how they let a seemingly winnable game get out of its control as Milan would head home sole leaders of the pack in Italian football.
