    Summary:
Siena surprised many by coming into San Siro and stealing a point from Milan. Strikers Calaio and Larrando played havoc on the Milan backline, keeping them on their toes with excellent passing and maneuverability in Milan territory. It would be Rosina who would put one in the net for the visiting team in the 51'. Rubin would pass to Calaio in the middle who would one time it back outside to Rosina for the nice shot just before Abate could close into the upper left corner. Milan would scramble late, pushing forward with everything they had to put some chances on net. The strategy would pay off as Allen would get free in the middle and El Shaarawy would find him, fake shotting past one defender before bending a nice finesse ball past the keeper in the 77'. The match would end in a 1-1 draw.

      Summary:
Two top flight teams squared off in Rome, but an unflappable Milan side once again proved victorious after dominating their opponent for the majority of the match. It got started with a 9' goal on a fast paced attack by the visiting squad, masterfully passing the ball with ease. De Jong would find Boateng dicating moves in the middle and he would send in a through pass that El Shaarawy would one time home past Stekelenburg for the early lead. The true heroes of this game were the Milan defense who stifled star Roma striker Rodrigo to 0 shots on goal. They played an almost flawless game, that is, until Roma caught Milan unawares with a furious counter attack up the wing with Lamela. He would send in the long cross to the awaiting Pjanic who outjumped Abate and put the ball into the corner in the 77'. It seemed unfair for Milan, who had played so well only to seemingly drop 2 points. That was until the 87', when once again Alvin Allen would continue his amazing streak, single handedly putting the team on his back. Allen would find himself with the ball in the middle of the field, using the give and go with El Shaarawy on his right to find space. A fake shot caught de Rossi turning his back, giving Allen just enough room to send in a right footed strike from almost 30 yards out. The bending ball curled from left to right past the outstretched hand of Stekelenburg, and into the upper right corner for the game winning goal in the 87'. Allen in on a roll, and if he continues to play like this, player of the year honors will be his to lose, controversy or not.

        Summary:
Winless Cesena came to San Siro just looking to record a decent result. Instead they escaped with a last second win, giving the vaunted Milan side something to think about before heading into their next Champions League match. The game began with Cesena jumping out on the attack early, putting Milan on their heels as center midfielders Parolo and Djokovic put the pressure on in the first half. Cesena's early work would finally pay off as Parolo would get his head on a cross from Turchetta from the wing, putting them up in the 30'. Milan would rally in the second half, as wingers El Shaarawy and Carmona would do their best to attack from the outside in, but keeper Renan held strong, blocking a couple of excellent shots from El Saarawy and Allen late in the second half. Finally Milan's pressure would prove to much as a corner kick from El Shaarawy fell to a wide open Allen who would head it home for the equalizer in the 87'. Just as it appeared that the game would end in a draw, Cesena would make their final push off the restart, winning a corner kick off a deflection. The ensuing corner kick would be taken by Djokovic. The ball came off his foot a bit deeper than he would've liked, but since Milan was stacked inside the 6 yard box, the corner would sail to Tonucci. The ball was at a weird angle, so Tonucci took a bicycle kick and put it on net. The bouncing strike would deflect off the inside top of the far post for the amazing game winning goal. San Siro remained in stunned silence as Cesena celebrated as if they had won the Champions League. A frustrated Milan would drop there first points of the season to the worst team in Serie A.

Re: Mr. Second Place: An Autobiographical Tale of Alvin Allen (Fifa 13)

          Hamburger SV v. Milan
          Champions League Group Stage

Hamburg looked to rebound after struggling against a tough opponent in Valencia in their opening match of Champions League play. Unfortunately for them, they would have to face a hot Milan team that had only dropped 1 out of their last 9 matches in all competitions. Alvin Allen led the way for Milan, racking up goals and assists for his side, seemingly unfazed by the rumors surrounding him. Could Hamburger SV stand in his way? The kickoff whistle was sounded and the fans would wait to see.
Milan started strong, using their width to attack Hamburg on the wings where they were weakest with their tight diamond formation. Carmona used his quickness to work the left side while Paulinho provided support behind. They used the give and go to give Carmona space and he promptly sent in a cross to the awaiting de Jong in the middle. Mancienna was there, getting a head on it just in time to clear it away.
The first half was littered with opportunities like this for Milan, but they had trouble converting. Hamburg continued to have issues on the wings and were not making adjustments to prevent the long buildups and crosses coming from either side. Paulinho would get a headed shot on goal and Boateng would put a chance over the top on two separate occasions. This dangerous play was bound to bite Hamburg, and Milan would finally draw blood as a cleared ball over the end line gave Milan the corner kick opportunity. El Shaarawy would line up the kick and send it high over the 6 yard box. Allen would get into position. Mancienna would mistimed his jump and the ball would sail just over his head to Allen who knocked his strike past Adler for the opening goal in the 34 minute. The rest of the half would continue to be controlled by Milan as they would win two more corner kicks, but were not able to convert any more goals and would head into the half 1-0 and in well control of the match.

Allen's "fade away" header put Milan up early

The second half would see more of the same for Milan as Hamburger SV failed to make any adjustments on the edge. Milan would take advantage by going on the offensive and pushing their side forward with pace. Possession was held in an astounding 63% by Milan as Hamburg continued to have no answer for Milan.
Hamburg finally saw their opportunity on a counter attack late into the second half. Van de Vaart led his team up the middle with crisp passing amongst his fellow midfielders. He would find Son lurking outside the box ready to cut inside for the shot, but Acerbi read the attempt perfectly, stepping inside and tackling the ball away. He would clear to Montolivo in the middle and suddenly, Milan found themselves on a counter attack of their own.
Montolivo pushed forward and gave to El Shaarawy to his right. With one man to beat at the midfield line, El Shaarawy stepped over the ball smoothly before scooping the ball up in the air over the top of the defenders head. The ball would bounce once and hit a streaking Allen in stride, and the star strikier found himself all alone on the break. Hamburger keeper Adler slightly hesitiated before charging out, and that was all the time Allen needed to make him pay, sending in a left footed rocket into the back of the net for the goal. Milan was now up 2-0.
Allen would complete the hat trick soon afterwards in the 83’. Milan would take control of the restart and once again come forward with numbers. An excellent display of passing would set up the goal as El Shaarawy would find Carmona in the middle. Carmona one timed the pass to Allen who cut inside the penalty area and Allen would finesse the ball into the corner on a one timed goal for the hat trick in the 83’. Hamburg would steal a 90’ goal at the end, but it was not enough as Milan would take the match 3-1 and sole possession of first place in their group.

Thanks for the follow. The Fire don't have a bad team, they're just unfortunately stuck in mediocrity like the rest of Chicago sports teams.

                  Summary:
Alvin Allen is taking no prisoners as he and Milan destroy Lazio in their home stadium. The Milan striker is all business as he continues to show his dominance over his peers. In the 26' a bad goal kick by Carrizo is intercepted by Carmona. Allen easily steps into space and Carmona slides the ball across to him for the one time goal. Soon after, Milan would gain the ball on the restart starting a break. Carmona would give to Boateng in the middle. He would lob the ball out front to Allen on the wing which Allen would send across to El Shaarawy who would head it home for the early 2-0 lead in the 29'. Allen would once again get his number 2 called in the 39' as Carmona would find him on a throw in deep in Lazio territory. Allen would make Diakite miss, cutting inside. Ciani was too late to close and Allen would send in a right footed bomb that would cut through the net for his second goal. Allen would finish off the hat trick in the 56' on a gorgeous through pass that would slice through 2 defenders and find Allen on the other side of the Lazio back line for the wide open attempt and goal. Even though Allen would get all the accolades, a special mention will go out to the Milan defense which prevented Lazio from getting any real chances on net. Lazio star Hernanes was held to just 2 shots and neither were on target, which was a testament to the excellent marking job defensive midfielder de Jong played on him. Milan steamrolls ahead to an important match against the always tough Juventus.

                        Summary:
Brescia played their best game of the season when they came up against Milan on a cool, autumn day in San Siro. Unfortunately for them, Milan's keeper Brkic also put forth his best effort of the season. Brkic made 6 saves on the evening, and almost all of them were highlight reel worthy. In the 23' Momente played a 1-2 pass with Ragnoli to free him inside the penalty area just in front of Abate to get a clear look at the net. He finessed it towards the far corner and the ball looked easily in, but out of nowhere Brkic stretched to get the full extension and knock the ball away with his fingertips. This was just one of the many excellent save he had all game, but this particular save actually spurred on a Milan counter attack. The ball was cleared by Trellez who got it out to Paulinho in a hurry. Paulinho spotted a streaking Allen and hit a ball over the top that Allen easily took out of the air for a one on one with the Brescia keeper Caruppo. Allen struck the ball early before Caruppo could charge out, cracking a goal into the upper left corner for the 1-0 lead in the 29'. Carmona would finish things off for Milan early in the second half with an excellent strike started by a steal and long lob from Abate in the 51'. Milan would stave off the Brescia rally and improve to 5 wins in Serie A in the young season.

Re: Mr. Second Place: An Autobiographical Tale of Alvin Allen (Fifa 13)

“Alvin, you can rethink this if you want,” A.T. frowned at me as we walked down the hallway of the A.C. Milan training facility.
“Thanks bro, but I need to do this,” I answered as our footsteps echoed off of the floor.
“I understand,” he continued, “but Leo isn’t going to be too happy about you distancing yourself from the brand as he tries to put this thing back together.”
“Oh he can do what he wants, but I’m sick and tired of my name being dragged through the mud.”
We turned the corner and walked through a pair of double doors. Immediately camera lights and flash bulbs went off as I walked toward the podium that was set up at the end of the room. A cascade of questions echoed throughout the room before I had even taken a seat. Somewhere an announcer spoke “Signor Alvin Allen” as I took the stage and sat in front of my microphone. A.T. stood flanking my left side, putting a hand on my shoulder for support. I smiled up at him in thanks before putting on a serious face and speaking directly to the crowd.
“I have not, nor have I ever, taken a performance enhancing substance…”

                          ***

I walked toward my Ducati after that draining press conference.
A couple months had gone by since the A-81 scandal started. The media frenzy hadn’t died down because of my stellar play on the pitch as of late. Media outlets wondered if I was still on some sort of performance enhancer, and fans would routinely boo me in opposing stadiums. Brown skin in Italy didn’t help my case, as some idiotic fans took to chanting racial epithets every time I touched the ball. None of it mattered, because I was on a roll. Many wondered how I was playing so well. My secret was that for the first time in a long while, I was focused only on my game. I was finally free of the grasp of so many different people pulling at me. No more corporations or agencies or sponsorships. It was just me and the game I loved.
I drove away from the facilities on my Ducati and started my ride home. My phone rang abruptly. I hit the Bluetooth button for communication through my helmet. “Who is this?”
“Alvin?” a mousey voice said into my ear.
“Gabby?” I stammered, shocked. “How did you get this number? I mean I switch numbers after the reporters and the…”
“Alvin,” Gabby said softly, “I’m in trouble.”
                          “What’s wrong?” I said seriously.
“Alvin, I got your number from someone named Helms.” I stayed silent brooding on her revelation as she continued, “I don’t know how much you’ve kept up with my writing, but ever since my article about you, I’ve been receiving some serious threats.”
“Are you ok, Gabby?” I said worriedly as I pulled down the long driveway toward my house.
“No, um…no I’m not,” she said worriedly. “Alvin, someone shot at me in my home.”
                          “What?” I yelled. “Who? How?”
“I don’t know, but soon after I had escaped and called the police, a man named Helms put me under his protection.”
“Gabby, where are you?” I was so frustrated at the situation. Was it Valente trying to get even?
“Well, I’m actually in Italy right now,” she said sheepishly in the phone.
I was a little surprised, but I should have known Helms would try to get her out of the country.
“That’s great, Gabby. I’ll meet you now. Where are you?” I said into my Bluetooth as I pulled up to my front door. Suddenly my front door opened and there she stood, looking a little frazzled, but still beautiful as always. She ran towards me, her glasses welling up with tears from her eyes. I dropped my helmet, strode up to her and caught her and held her close, just happy to have her in my arms again.
                          “Oh Alvin,” she sobbed, “I’m sorry. I didn’t know…”
“Hush, Gabby,” I smiled at her. “Let’s go inside. You’re safe with me.”
That seemed to calm her down a bit, but deep inside I wondered if the words I had just spoken were true. Were we safe? If it was Valente and Apuzzo, then Helms had just placed Gabby in the middle of a hornet’s nest in Italy, and had put Gabby in an even more dangerous position.

                            Valencia CF v. Milan
                            Champions League Group Stage

The class of group G faced off as Milan came into town to face Valencia in Nou Mestalla. The fans were at a full throated pitch as Los Che took the field to battle a tough Milan side. For two teams that have no real history between them, the game would start off with a few strong tackles by both sides. The referee would have to get involved early, blowing the whistle as Allen got taken down by Parejo on an early chance for Milan. Milan would restart quickly as Strasser would find Paulinho just outside the penalty area. Valencia’s defense was caught off guard as they ran towards the midfielder. This would leave Allen an alley to cut behind, and Paulinho would find the Milan striker. He wouldn’t miss from there, poking a one timed shot into the bottom corner for the goal.
After the early goal, Milan seemed content to sit back and let Valencia bring the attack to them, and they most certainly did with Balotelli and Soldado taking the lead on pressuring the Milan back line. The Valencia midfield would follow as they focused on ball possession looking for good opportunities. After a bad miss by Guardado that went way over the bar, he would get a chance to redeem himself by tackling Boateng and outletting to Soldado out wide. He would send it back in quickly to a wide open Balotelli, but Acerbi came in from nowhere and pummeled the Valencia striker with a slide tackle from slightly behind that sent the crowd into a frenzy. The referee gave no signal for a foul and Milan would clear the ball even as Balotelli pleaded his case to the referee’s back.

Paulinho uses his vision to find Allen sneaking behind Valencia's defense

Milan would get a counter chance late in the first half. Strasser would give to Allen in the middle. He would see Carmona running to his left and send the long lob forward to the winger who would receive the ball in stride and cut in towards the middle past Joao Periera. El Shaarawy was awaiting the pass and Carmona would send it to him. El Shaarawy would try to get the shot away, but he was shoved down by Rami who would clear the ball away, ending the chance for Milan. The half would end a little chippy, with both sides jawing back and forth as Milan would head to the locker room up 1-0.
Valencia came out reenergized after their mediocre first half performance as Bonega pushed the midfield forward deep into the Milan side, trying to create a chance for their club. Guardado would receive the ball out wide from Balotelli who split the defenders with an excellent chance. Guardado would send a long pass into the box, and Soldado would connect with his head, sending the ball to the far post. Unfortunately for Valencia, the ball would sail just outside of the post and roll out of bounds to end the threat.
At the midpoint of the second half it was all Milan as their quick front line began to wear down Valencia’s tired defense. As the clock ticked down, tempers went up as Valencia began to get physical with the Milan forwards. El Shaarawy got taken down from behind on a vicious hit by Victor Ruiz just outside the penalty area. The referee immediate drew a yellow card setting up Milan with a great chance to put Valencia away. El Shaarawy would put the ensuing chance right to the goalkeeper, but a bad clearance gave Milan another opportunity. De Sciglio, who was pushed up due to the previous free kick, would receive the ball from de Jong just to the right of the penalty area. He would center it to Allen cutting into the box with Victor Ruiz draped all over him. Just before he could get pulled down, Allen would just get enough on a shot to put a ball just underneath a diving Diego Alves for the game clinching goal. Valencia would try to rally in the last couple minutes, but the lead was too mcuch for them to overcome, as Milan escapes a physical gauntlet against Valencia, 2-0.

                                Summary:
A quick turnaround from their match against Valencia found a fatigued Milan team traveling to Pescara just three days later. Milan would still put forth a good effort with most of their starters resting, putting 8 of their 11 shots on target. Pescara's goalkeeper Perin did an excellent job of parrying away those chances. Milan would finally break through in the 42' when Allen and de Jong played a give and go to get Allen inside the penalty area. Allen would kick it back out to de Jong in space, and he would one time the ball to Traore who cut inside the box and put away the easy goal into the corner for the goal just before the half. Pescara tried to come back late in the game as a near miss by Weiss on a volley inside barely sailed over the crossbar. Just as the game seemed ready to wrap up a late counter chance caught Milan off guard. Celik would make a nice run up the wing and send a curving ball into the box that Maniero would tuck in to the net with his head in the 87'. The match would end in a 1-1 draw with Pescara stealing a point.
