Granero Double Puts West Brom Away

Granero's first goal from distance put West Brom on notice early

Granero is quietly becoming the best kept secret in the Premier League as the Spanish national is leading QPR with excellent play all around. He's been supplying the forwards with excellent passes this year, but in this match against West Bromwich he showed the damage he can do with his shooting boots on. Granero got things off to a hot start, as the center midfielder looked for somewhere to outlet a pass after receiving the ball in the middle. West Brom was covering well, so Granero rolled the ball forward with his left foot took three steps and fired a rocket right footed strike from about 35 yards out. He caught the keeper off guard, drilling the shot into the upper corner of the net for the goal in the 11'. The first half scoring was not done for him, as just before the end of the half, Granero would put away a header spurred on by a counter attack up the wing by Allen. Allen would send the cross just before getting pushed over the endline and Granero was awaiting the perfectly struck pass to put it away for the 2-0 lead. QPR played possession ball for the rest of the match, closing out West Brom for the win. No one would have though to circle October 1st before the season, but a surprisingly undefeated QPR will next take on an undefeated Chelsea in a battle between the two top teams in the table.

An Exciting West London Derby Sees QPR Emerge as a Legitimate Contender

Chelsea and QPR fought a physical match

The matches between QPR and Chelsea have not been very entertaining as of late, as Chelsea has gone on to dominate the Premier League while QPR has floundered at the bottom of the table in recent years. However, this West London Derby, QPR was determined to prove that their early success this season was no fluke, and for the first time in years, the West London Derby would be played between two teams at the top of the table.
Chelsea would impose their dominance early, playing their possession style of football and not allowing QPR the opportunity to take control of the ball. Vorm was tested immediately, as Lukaku got in past a porous back line for QPR and tried to finesse a shot to the corner. The keeper would make the diving save, but the ball would bounce right back to Victor Moses and he would not miss from there, putting Chelsea up 1-0. Chelsea would end the first half with a staggering 63% possession rate as QPR could just not find any sort of offensive push.
QPR would need to make second half adjustments, and they came back a changed team. Instead of pushing forward, QPR baited Chelsea into continuing their possession style, but when a turnover would happen in the midfield, QPR would explode on the counter attack by pushing their wide midfielders up and allowing the wide backs to come forward behind. The strategy worked, as Hoilett sprinted up the wing before passing back to Roussillon who had pushed deep into the Chelsea side. He would send in the ball to Granero who would attempt a shot from just inside the penalty area, but Courtois parried it away. The deflection took an odd bounce in front for David Luiz, and he took a swipe at the ball and missed allowing Phillips a quick shot. Phillips poked the ball towards net and a scrambling Courtois, who was still trying to get up from his earlier save, could not get to the ball in time as the slow roller found its way into the net to even up the match.
QPR would continue these tactics into the second half. They would wait out Chelsea, and then send everyone forward on the counter attack. Allen and Granero were the beneficiaries of these chances, but the Belgian keeper made great save after save to keep the match even. Finally Mourinho had had enough. He pulled a great managerial decision by changing his strategy around. After QPR sent everyone forward, he instructed his side to stay back and wait out QPR. QPR was not prepared to have a long build up after so many quick strikes early in the second half, and a quick turnover was all that was needed for Chelsea to counter back off of QPR's counter. M'Bia was in the center of the pitch and Oscar poked the ball away, spurring on Chelsea's counter. He lobbed the ball over the top of Ehmer's head to a streaking Lukaku. He would not let the breakaway opportunity go to waste, making Vorm look silly with a cheeky chip over the diving keeper for the 2-1 lead.
The Queen's Park Rangers looked defeated, but Michael Vorm was not going to let his side be discouraged. The keeper brought his entire team back together while Chelsea celebrated, and while we do not know what was said it looked as if some of the held heads were instead brought high once again. The restart saw QPR play some of its best football to date with crisp passing around the midfield while the forward Allen hovered around the box. Chelsea got a little to comfortable hanging back during this time period, and slowly QPR's new found possession football sort of lulled Chelsea into a false sense of calm. The ball found its way back to a freshly subbed Faurlin standing at about the half line. He would send it forward to Granero a few yards in front who would turn quickly and time a long lob to his left to a sprinting Hoilett the wing. The quick shift in tempo caused the Chelsea defense to collapse to that side too quickly. David Luiz came down a bit to far to help Kalas on that side, and Hoilett made them pay by sending in a cross to Allen who was now in the box with just Bertrand. The shorter defender was no match for Allen, as the QPR striker bounded up in the air and struck a header into the back corner of the net for the equalizer. The match would end soon after that goal with QPR celebrating their hard fought point over Chelsea at Home. Mourinho nodded his head in respect to the side as he left the pitch understanding that a new rivalry had just been born.

QPR Washes Southampton Away in the Rain

Granero finds a streaking Allen inside

It has been a tough year for Southampton as the previous winners of three straight have now found themselves losing their last five matches in a row. Alvin Allen had another excellent game, scoring twice and putting Southampton on their heels for most of the game. The first goal came from a marvelous feed by Granero in the 22'. The center midfielder held the ball in the middle of the field, drawing the opposing side towards him while Allen got a quick step on his defender. Granero moved to his right and without looking hit a perfectly weighted pass into space that hit Allen in stride. The striker would finish the ball easily, striking a right footed bomb that the keeper had no chance to get to. Allen would add his second goal late in the match on a breakaway after Southampton had pushes everyone forward. Allen easily slotted the ball past Gazzaniga for the goal and QPR easily wound win their fifth match of the season. Heading into the international break, QPR would find themselves where no one thought they would be in second place just behind Chelsea and in the hunt for the Premier League title.

Re: Mr. Second Place: An Autobiographical Tale of Alvin Allen (Fifa 13)

I smiled from ear to ear when she cooed.
I had made the journey back to the States for our upcoming friendly in Columbus. I made a pit stop in Chicago to see Gabby and my daughter, and wow was it great to get a chance to be with my baby girl. Gabby was still acting a bit distant when I came over to her apartment, but I was more focused on hanging out with my kid.
“What do you think about me taking her with me to Ohio for a couple days?” I asked.

Gabby paused and then spoke, “No Alvin, I don’t think it would be a good idea,” she responded, “I mean, who would watch her when you’re getting ready to play?”

“You,” I said longingly, “Come with me, Gabby. It will be fun, just like old times.”

Gabby looked shadily towards our other guest in the room, “No Alvin, I think this has been enough of a visit,” she sighed, “Why don’t you and her go ahead and leave?”

“No problem,” Taisia replied, “we were ready to leave anyway.”

I gave the baby back to Gabby. As we left, Taisia embraced my arm and I thought I heard a growl from Gabby as she shut the door. I yanked my arm away from Taisia and she smiled innocently at me.

“What’s your problem?” I yelled at her. “Why are you even here?”
“I am just here looking after my investment,” she smirked as she glanced at the two bodyguards that flanked us on either side watching the area.
“Yeah well this is my family you’re messing with,” I commented before striding away, “Don’t touch me again.”
I strode towards the elevator with Taisia just behind and the bodyguards giving us some distance. When both Taisia and I got in, she motioned for the other two to wait while we got on the elevator alone. As soon as the doors closed and we began to move downward, she hit the stop button. The elevator jerked to a halt.
“What are you doing?” I began, but suddenly the smaller woman put one arm in my chest and her other forearm on my neck and shoved me against the wall. I was in shock at how quickly she moved and how strong she was. Her grey eyed stare grew serious.
“Alvin, drop the attitude and listen to me,” she said with no hint of the earlier mirth to her voice. “I need your help with my father.”
I was still in a bit of shocked that this smaller woman had me pinned. “Ok, ok, first let me go.” She backed off me so I could regain some air. “Ok, so what do you need?”
She began to pace the elevator. “My father has me constantly watched, hence our little elevator excursion.”
“I can tell, but what is it you need help with?” I asked concernedly.
“A-81,” she said, “You more than anyone knows its effects. We have to stop him.”
            “Why me?” I questioned.
“Because I can’t trust anybody else. You’re from the outside of the organization. You’re clearly more that a footballer. I know all about Theo, Brazil, and G-Sop. I know everything.”
“How do you know about that?”
Suddenly the elevator jerked on again.
“Ugh, we’ve run out of time, Alvin.”
She grabbed me and pinned me against the elevator again, but instead of grabbing my neck instead she kissed me.
I yanked away, “What are you doing?”
“Trust me,” she whispered and proceeded to kiss me again. I kissed her back as the elevator reached the bottom floor and the doors thrust open. I glanced up as the two bodyguards ran forward with guns drawn looking panicked at the elevator.
“Miss, we thought something was wrong,’ one of them said.
“Nothing’s wrong at all,” Taisia smiled as she caressed my cheek. “Alvin and I just needed some alone time. She glanced towards my pants. I looked down and my button and zipper were undone. I buttoned back up a bit embarrassed. How had she done that so quickly?
The bodyguards saw me buckling myself back up, relaxed, and put their guns away. One spoke something in a Bluetooth earpiece and a Range Rover pulled up to take us to the airport. Before getting in, Taisia’s smile turned into a determined nod. I honestly did not know who was more dangerous, Matvei or his daughter, but I had a feeling I was going to find out.

Dude you are seriously awesome. I've spent the last 5 hours of down time at my overnight job reading this start to this point. If this was a book or tv show I would be the biggest supporter of it. So in-depth, and interesting story. Multiple "holy ****" moments that I legitimately did not see coming. I Havnt been this invested in a written story since reading game of thrones and I'm not kidding. I'm so looking forward to seeing where this goes. Keep it up

QPR Remain the Surprise of the Season by Dominating Stoke City at Home

Taarabt takes advantage of his start by giving Stoke City fits

The Queens Park Rangers picked up right where they left off before the international break, still continuing to remain undefeated and hot on the heels of first place Chelsea. Stoke City came into Zvezda Stadium with their tough defensive style of play early, but QPR's relentless attack finally wore down the side as QPR would score all three of their goals in the second half. Allen would get things started in the 58' with a smooth finesse ball into the bottom corner after a great pass from Taarabt over the top. Taarabt would also add a goal of his own late off a rebounded shot from M'Bia. This goal and assist for the disgruntled player will surely make the case that maybe the manager should indeed give him some more playing time, but the rumors still abound that Taarabt will be headed elsewhere in the January transfer window. The final goal was a header by Hoilett in the box from an Allen cross in the 78'. QPR continues their march, winning another match in dominating fashion, while Stoke City drops another match, moving them to seven losses on the year.

Without giving anything away, do have an idea of where you want this story to be at the end? And how old is Alvin now as he is looking back on the story of his life?

Yes I know how this particular arc will end and after it that will probably be the end of this story. I don't know how the details will come together, but I know the gist of what will happen to the characters.

I always pictured Alvin maybe in his 40-50s at the time of his autobiography. We already know his brother is famous, and maybe he could release his book not too long after his brother's hall of fame introduction. Maybe it could be on the back end of that. Maybe I could touch on that sometime towards the end of the story.

I never intended the series to get this fleshed out. The story was just going to be something to kind of go along with the gameplay and for whatever reason it starting becoming something more. Years from now I'll probably turn this into a book of some sort, albeit with a lot more filler between the breaks in the story and a lot more editing.

Well anyway I went a bit off topic, but again, thanks for reading. And once again, to everyone who views this thing thanks to you as well. I'll have some more updates soon. I played a few games over the weekend so hopefully I can get a few posted up here early this week. Thanks.

A Hard Fought Victory Over Wigan Gives QPR Their Third Straight Win

Hoilett battles up the wing with Wigan defenders

Wigan Athletic has had a tough go of it this season and they would get no break against the heavily favored Queens Park Rangers. The DW Stadium faithful still came, and they were treated to a great effort by their hometown boys. Emerging star forward McManaman did his best to keep his side in it early, cutting up the wing off a long ball from Perch that would catch him in stride past the surprised QPR defender Simpson. The strike from just inside the box was barely gathered by Vorm and put QPR on notice right from the beginning, but little did both sides know, that would be one of the few chances either side would have for the duration on the match. It was a hard fought battle in the midfields, as Wigan's 5-2-2-1 formation lent itself to a more defensive style of football. In fact, QPR's only goal would come as sort of a fluke as Allen would receive a ball that was poked away from Granero in the middle of the field. Allen would then be forced backward and entually drifted down toward the wing with a give and go with Hoilett on the left side of the pitch. Allen would find a little bit of space and sent in a hopeful cross that would somehow bounce in front of the awaiting defenders and roll towards the top of the box towards Granero. Granero would hti the ball one time before the defenders could converge, and the lone goal of the match would be scored. It was so odd to see the ball just head over the Wigan defender's heads and then bounce right to the man who lost the ball in the first place in Granero. Neither Wigan nor QPR would be able to put another shot on target, and the match would end with a QPR victory, 1-0.
