Re: Mr. Second Place: An Autobiographical Tale of Alvin Allen (Fifa 13)

I grabbed Helms by his collar and slammed him into the cathedral wall.
“What were you thinking using Gabby?” I said angrily. Helms hadn’t returned my requests for a meet until abruptly I was contacted with a location at a local community church which of course was conveniently empty. Helms had strode in with his typical smirk on his face, until I wiped it off by putting him into the wall.
Helms frowned at me, “Now Alvin, I’d seriously consider taking your hands off me. I really like you and would hate for our friendship to end.” I looked down to see a pistol in my rib cage. I let him off and he put the pistol back in one of those random secret areas people like him seem to have. I sat in the pew and he sat beside me.
“Alvin, look. We never intended for you to get involved with her. We started feeding her intel a long time ago,” he said somberly.”When I knew you were, shall we say, involved with her, I knew I had to warn you. G-Sop didn’t even want me to give you that information for fear it would compromise the mission.”
“Why her?” was all I could squeak out and my frustration built up.
“She was way off the radar Alvin,” he continued. “We wouldn’t have gotten as far as we did in funneling her information had we used one of our major news sources.” Helms put a hand on my shoulder as I turned to look at him. “But now, we need to talk about our next steps.”
“What do you mean?” I questioned. “It’s too late, A-81 is going to market.”
“Not if we can help it. Alvin, we’ve waged a campaign to stop this as much as we can, but now we have to use our ace in the hole. You.”
I was puzzled. “I’m already working for you as a mole in their activities,” I said.
“Yes, but now it’s time for you to expose some of what A-81 can do. Your medical records from our time in Paris have been leaked to a member of the media.”
I was stunned. “What are you doing?”
“I’m sorry, Alvin, we didn’t know another way to do this.” Helms got up to leave.
“Hey, hey, wait! What’s going to happen? I don’t understand!” I yelled. He continued to walk towards the door.
“Helms, at least tell me who you gave this stuff to!”
He stopped at the door and turned back to me, hesitating slightly. “Alvin, G-Sop gave it to Gabby.”

        AC Milan v. Reggina

        2015 Supercoppa Italiana

The 2015 Italian Supercup was a game that highlighted the differences between both clubs that were present in the match. Milan were the winners of the Serie A title and the Coppa Italia from the previous season, so they were forced to face the runner up to the Coppa Italia which happened to be Reggina. Reggina, on the other hand, had just been relegated to Serie B, and there were rumors that their striker, Comi, was on his way out of town. The game largely reflected the directions in which both teams were going, as one team was on the rise, and the other team was spiraling downward.
We pick up in the 36' as Milan played possession football against the large amount of midfielders Reggina used to clog up the passing lanes. Carmona would take an ambitious shot from way outside the box that was deflected away by Carvallo, but de Jong was there to clean up the garbage and send Milan up early.
The scecond half proved the demise of Reggina, as Milan would score three goals in quick succession. The first would come off on an El Shaarawy penaty goal after Allen was taken down in the box on a breakaway. The second, Montolivo would score on a set piece sent to him by Abate from about 25 yards outside of the box. The last goal was the dagger, as El Shaarawy would find Allen cutting in between two defenders on a wide open break that he would not miss, putting the ball into the bottom corner of the net. Reggina would fall apart, fouling Milan players and pretty much throwing a temper tantrum on the field. The referees would keep the match from getting out of hand, and in the end Milan would celebrate an easy victory 4-0 over Reggina.

Alvin Allen Involved in Doping Scandal; FIFA to Consider Ban on New Mental Enhancement Supplements
          by Pete Patterson

Did Alvin Allen knowingly take performance enhancing drugs?

Performance enhancing drugs have largely been at the forefront of sports in the 21st century, with all manner of things used to give athletes an edge. The line between supplements that are okay to use versus those that are deemed performance enhancing has grown even more vague as time moves on, but one such substance has been the subject of recent controversy.
Adrenaline-81 has been marketed as the first in a new wave of mental enhancing supplements in the sports world. It has yet to hit the market, but it has been endoresed by a number of well known athletes, including the Allen brothers of world renowned fame. However, a scathing report written by Chicago New-Times reporter Gabrielle Anthony shows that A-81 may give an unfair advantage to an athlete once he or she begins taking the supplement. Detailed medical reports of Alvin Allen have been leaked to the media, and these reports show an almost drug like affect that focus the user into an almost zombie like state, allowing them to only focus on improving performance. Reports show that Alvin Allen had to miss time from the team "detoxing" from the drug.
Alvin Allen had his best year in FIFA while on the supplement last season. He scored an uncanny 50 goals in all competitions last year, and one has to wonder how much of that was while he was on A-81. FIFA officials have said they will investigate the matter, and for now are listing A-81 on their banned substances list. Meanwhile athletes that originally endorsed the product are silently distancing themselves for Geneeskunde Pharmaceuticals, the maker of the supplement. Even "Triple A" Allen has remained mum on the subject, and for now all marketing featuring the NBA star has ceased.
No one knows what this will mean for Alvin Allen's career. Many believe his last season may possibly have been a fluke. PSG, Chelsea, and Manchester City have all ceased their interest in Allen at this time. It looks as if the young American star will have to prove himself to the world at large that he is not a cheater.

Re: Mr. Second Place: An Autobiographical Tale of Alvin Allen (Fifa 13)

The A-81 question had been turned on its head. With the release of my medical information coupled with Gabby’s scathing article, people who were on the fence about the supplement became strongly against it, while those who supported it were now silent on the subject. Obviously Leo and Madame Apuzzo were now trying to rally the troops for a new PR campaign, but most now knew that A-81 in its current form was dead.
Dead would also be a way to describe my career at that point, because everyone now questioned whether my previous season was the result of the drug. FIFA were currently involved in investigating my actions, which was hypocritical because just a bit ago they were one of the sports bodies that was interested in not only allowing A-81, but promoting it within their ranks. I couldn’t be banned from FIFA because what I took wasn’t banned at the time, nor did anyone really have an idea of what exactly the effects were to my performance, but the war of public opinion was over. Teams that were interested in taking me on for transfer dropped out of the race. My major endorsement deals didn’t all drop me, but most removed me from the forefront of their marketing. In the states, I was the topic of all of their sports shows, debating whether or not I had taken performance enhancing substances. In Italy, I was the front page of La Gazzetta dello Sport for a week straight.
G-Sop had gotten what they needed from me, and I had been essentially burned by the agency. My attempts at contacting Helms were rebuffed. No more secret meetings or sudden phones calls came. My part in their operation seemed to reach its conclusion. Whereas I was a media darling, a valued asset in a team, and a sport phenomenon just a little while ago, now I was a liar, a cheater, and everything that was wrong with sports.
What’s strange is that most of it didn’t bother me. Ok, well I must admit it did bother me, but I was never much of a lover of the spotlight anyway. But I did find myself missing Gabby. I was not mad about the article. She was only doing her job. But I worried about her safety now that she had unknowingly sunk the Valente operation. She wouldn’t respond to any of my attempts to contact her. I was now in a place with which I was familiar. I was alone, and strangely, somewhat content. I was now focused on what I should have been for a long time. I focused on being a good teammate. It was time to put soccer first.

              Summary:
A terrible start to the cup for Milan almost ends in surprising disaster in the first round. Things began fine for them as a deflection from an Alvin Allen shot bounced off Molodo's back heel and into the net for an own goal. From their it was all Vercelli, as their attack put Milan on their heels fro the entire match. Iemmello carved through the middle of Milan's side all game, setting up his teammates easily. Unfortunately for him, no one would be able to convert those chances. The best of these came late in the first half on a counter attack. Iemmello would find Zigoni cutting inside all alone, but the striker put the ball way over the crossbar into the stands. Brkic was rarely tested, but that did not mean Vercelli suffered from lack of chances to equalize. On the opposite side of the ball, Allen was doing everything by himself as the offense struggled to get into rhythm. Milan only took 3 shots all match, and all of these were taken by Allen. Milan needs to pick up the pace, because in just a shot week they will have to face the winners of the Champions League last year, Barcelona for the UEFA Super Cup.

Notable End of Window Transfers in Serie A
                by Pete Patterson

Juventus are the big winners this window by getting young striker Traore

The Serie A autumn transfer window has come to a close and this year's window in Serie A was more defined by the players leaving rather than those that were coming into Serie A. The list of players leaving has to begin with top Udinese player Diego Fabbrini leaving town for Arsenal of the Premier League for a hefty fee of 20 million dollars. The question is, where will he play? One would have to think they could find some room for him somewhere in the midfield, because the wing spots where he prefers to play are pretty well shored up. Also on the list of players leaving is Inter striker Leandro Damiao, who is heading to help Manchester City up front for a transfer fee of 19.5 million dollars. Man City gets themselves a striker with a nose for the ball who helped propel Inter on that late season run last year, only to see it end in disappointing fashion. Many believe he put in his transfer request because of this, and we will have to see if this signing can get Man City back into the Champions League next year.
However, with the news that those big name players were sold, the focus has largely been on Juventus getting a whole lot better up front with their signing of Traore for a 27 million dollar transfer fee, by far the largest this season. This makes what many believe to be the best team in Serie A a whole lot better, dding a striker that can use his size and strength to put balls into the net with his head and rocket right foot. Other teams making notable signings include Genoa who added defender Kostas Manolas from Olympiakos for 7.5 million. Defending champions Milan, who were rumored at one time to be selling El Shaarawy and Allen, had instead shifted focus and brought in a couple of young players in 21 year old striker Yahiya for 4.1 million and 17 year old midfielder Hunter for 1.7 million.

The UEFA Super Cup is the annual competition between winners of the Champions League against the winners of the Europa League. Two fierce foes would face off, with Spanish power Barcelona facing off against the always formidable AC Milan. The always dangerous Messi controls the middle for Barcelona and he leads a strong attack with Pedro Ledesma to his left and Alexis Sanchez to his right. This front three has aged a bit, but they still work extremely well together with their midfield, controlling possession with that Barcelona football we all know so well. For Milan, the “American Messi” Alvin Allen has come under fire recently, but he will still look to do what he does best, score goals. The return of Boateng from a horrific injury last year should also help stabilize the starting midfield spots for the team.
The starting whistle would blow and it would be all Barcelona early, playing that odd sort of possession football they love, but never letting up on the attack. Their 4-3-3 formation was constantly moving, with players not locked into rigid positions but instead was a very fluid movement with where the ball was. The Milan midfield would go to work, marking players effectively and forcing early passes. Fabregas would make an unusual mistake on a bad backward pass that would be intercepted by Paulinho, and off Milan went on a counter attack.
The counter attack caught Barcelona too spread out and Paulinho would send pass ahead to El Shaarawy streaking up the wing. Alba closed faster than El Shaarawy anticipated and would slide the ball away from him over the end line for the Milan corner. Milan would take the corner, but it would be cleared away just outside the penalty area. Acerbi would handle the clearance ball, find a small gap in the defense and send in a through pass that would find Allen with a window. He would bend a left footed shot into the top left corner that Valdes had no chance to get to, and Milan would find themselves up early 1-0.
Once again Barcelona would take control of the match as they would try to bounce back from Milan’s opening goal. Milan would be on their heels for most of the remainder of the first half as Barcelona would continue to find lanes in Milan territory. In the 27’ Barcelona would get an excellent chance as Fabergas would hit Pedro out to his left before he would one time it right back to Fabergas. He would then one time it himself to a cutting Iniesta just outside the penalty area. Iniesta would shoot it past a diving Brkic, but the ball would bounce right off the post and bounce right back to Fabergas. Instead of him taking the rebound, he would center the ball back outside of the penalty area where Sergio Busquets would take an ambitious shot from deep, curling the ball just wide. The first half would be defined by missed opportunites like this for Barcelona, as chance after chance where either knocked away by Brkic or would just barely miss. More importantly for Barcelona, Messi did not take a shot in the first half. They would have to get him more involved if this match would end with Barcelona victorious.
Brkic was not the only keeper making great saves, as Valdes would get in on the action. Most of Milan’s scoring opportunities came on the counter attack, usually off of a goal kick or quick outlet by Brkic as it was extremely hard for them to steal possession away from Barcelona. Milan would capitalize on their few chances, making the Barcelona defense work and sending in a couple of good shots. One of these would find Allen streaking down the middle on a counter attack just before the half. He would give to Carmona out to his left, who would back heel the ball to a trailing Boateng. Boateng would give it back to Allen in the middle well marked by Pique, and Allen would hold for Boateng running back across to the middle. Allen would give it right back back to Boateng who would take a shot from just outside the penalty area that looked like it would sneak just inside the far post. Valdes would dive into the frame, pushing the ball wide for an amazing save. That would be the last good chance before the half for both teams as Milan would stay up 1-0.
The second half would see Barcelona turn it up to another gear, completely controlling the match and finally getting Messi involved with their squad. Messi would get his first shot early on a through ball past the Milan back line on a one on one with Brkic. Messi would sprint in and shoot it to his left. Brkic would guess correctly, laying out in that direction and barely getting a hand on it to push it over the back line for a corner kick. The ensuing corner kick was taken short on a pass from Messi to Pedro. Pedro would one time to Sergio Busquets who would give to Iniesta in the middle well marked by Trellez. He would give it up to a trailing Pique who would pass right back to a cutting Pedro wide open inside the box on the left. Pedro would curl a ball to the far post that Brkic would have to dive full extension to knock away before the ball was cleared away.
The clearance ball would find itself right to de Jong, and suddenly the break was on for Milan. He would send forward a long ball and Allen would find himself in a foot race with Mascherano. Allen had the angle and the speed, and would win the ball just in front of the defender. Mascherano would slide , but Allen would avoid the tackle and find himself in a one on one with the keeper. Valdes would charge out, and Allen would try to trick the keeper and hit it with his right foot. But Valdes didn’t bite and dove to his left to knock the ball away. Allen would put his hands over his face, visibly frustrated by that goal that could’ve put Barcelona away. The corner kick was harmlessly cleared away, and once again Barcelona would take control.
The missed opportunity by Allen would come back to bite them as once again Bacrelona would hammer away at the Milan back line. Shot after shot would come, only to be parried away by Brkic or just missed. No matter how hard they tried, it seemed as if Milan just could not grab possession from their foe. For Barcelona, the patience would finally work in their favor as Messi would find himself with the ball in the middle just outside the penalty area. Trellez and Acerbi would charge him, assuming that he would take the shot, but Messi had other plans. Messi would instead make the extra pass inside to Iniesta who snuck in right behind the vacated spot. He would one time it home, not giving Brkic a chance to process the shot and suddenly the match was tied in the 73’ at 1-1.

Messi's superior vision finds Iniesta inside for the goal

Barcelona was very much in form, controlling possession and trying to convert the late winner. The would get their chance on a bad tackle from about 25 yards out just to the left of center. The foul was called and who other than Messi would take the set piece as Milan would set up the wall and pray that Messi would miss. Barcelona would send out Iniesta for a bit of trickery, but everyone knew that Messi was taking it. Iniesta would run over the ball, and then Messi would take the shot. The ball would go over the wall, but the ball didn’t bend until it was too late, sailing just over the crossbar. The whistle would blow as regulation would come to an end. The Super Cup was headed into extra time.
Milan had spent most of the second half trying to avoid disaster. The few opportunities that did come did not challenge the backline of Barcelona, let alone work Valdes like they had in the first half. None of that would matter now, as Milan would finally get a chance at possession on the kickoff. Allen would pass it back to Montolivo, who would give it out to El Shaarawy out wide. He would give it to Allen back in the middle, sliding past his defender Fabregas with a nice step over move. Now free inside just outside the box, Allen would pass it just to his right as El Shaarawy would come back into the picture, working the ball back towards the middle as Allen would head into the box. With Pique draped all over his back, Allen tried to box him out inside the box. El Shaarawy saw his opportunity and fed Allen the ball just in front of the net. Mascherano would see it and close on Allen as he tried to muscle his way for a turn and chance on net. With defenders closing and Pique still behind him, Allen would poke the ball forward, push off with his right elbow, and turn to his left. The wide turn gave Allen just enough room for a shot, slide shooting a ball to the bottom left corner of the net. Valdes was caught cheating to far to the near post, and he paid for it as Allen’s ball would roll into the bottom corner for the amazing extra time goal in the 93’.
The second period of extra time would see Milan fold into a defensive shell, ready to take on the onslaught of shots that were due to come from Barcelona. The restart would see Fabergas taking a shot from 30 yards out sending Brkic diving to his right to grab the ball in midair. The clearance punt would be controlled again by Barcelona, as Pedro would lead a series of one-twos with Messi down the middle of the field. Messi would once again get his chance just outside the penalty area a shade to the right of center, sending a ball in that was just wide of the target for another Barcelona miss. Even though Barcelona was getting shots, Milan continued to mark them relatively well. Communication was key as Acerbi controlled the middle, barking out when to switch and when to hold, as Brkic continued to do work when required. The clock was ticking towards conclusion and Barcelona would find itself with one last chance. Carillo would find himself with the ball out to the right of the formation. He would give and go with Song to get a step on Didac out wide, cutting inside. Messi was streaking into the middle wide open and Carillo would see him, poking a beautiful pass his way just outside of the goal area to the near post. Brkic was late in closing and it looked like Messi would have an easy shot. Just before he could get to the ball, a diving Trellez would get in front sacrificing his body for the pending shot. Messi would try to hammer it past him, but the ball would deflect off his body and back out wide to be cleared away by Didac. The whistle would blow, and a stunned Messi would watch as Milan players would storm the field, taking the UEFA Super Cup in thrilling fashion 2-1 in extra time.

Allen's sliding goal in extra time proved to be the difference

Great win. Just my thoughts but you should list his year-by-year stats and season totals, trophies won at the end of each story with his game statistics.

                          Summary:
Milan opens the new season with a bang, as the defending Serie A Champions destroyed a tough Genoa squad with little effort thanks to the effort of star striker Alvin Allen. The game would begin with Alvin cutting through the Genoa back line with speed and skill, scoring a strike from 30 yards out that brought San Siro to its feet in the 5'. But he wasn't done from their, assisting a Robinho header on a perfect cross, only to follow it up with another left footed bomb from outside the box just before the end of the half. Genoa keeper Frey did his best to try to keep his team in the match, but a shot differential of 12 for Milan did not help matters for the struggling side. Emanuelson would add another goal in the 52' before Allen would complete his hat trick in the 82' on a breakaway counter fed by none other than El Shaarawy. This was an electric start for Milan, and if they keep up this effort other teams will be hard pressed to deter them from repeating as Serie A Champions.

                            Summary:
Milan would come off a blowout win to Genoa to travel to face a rebuilding Palermo club. One could tell immediately that Milan had superior talent, and they used their size and speed advantage to push Palermo around. Paulinho made use of this as he almost singlehandedly controlled the midfield, orchestrating long build up plays with crisp passing, allowing space for himself to get some good looks on goal. El Shaarawy would find him in the 21' from 18 yards out, drilling home a one timed goal. Paulinho would once again get free just after the half, working in the penalty area alone and poking the ball past Ujkani easily. Palermo would make things interesting in the 61' as Mehmeti would answer from a great set up from Acquah to the striker Abel out wide who would center it back to Mehmeti for a bending left footed shot into the corner. But in the end, Milan would prove too much as Allen would find El Shaarawy on a counter attack late, hitting a nice lob through ball behind the defense for the easy finish. Milan looks to be in great form heading into their first Champions League match of the season in 2 days.
