Milan Edges Out Victory Over Upstart Cagliari

de Jong fights with Cabrera for a key possession

Cagliari came into San Siro on a mission and came within a whisker of upsetting the defending champions. Milan was still on a high after advancing to the kncokout stage of the Champions League, but Cagliari reminded Milan that they still had work to do if they expected to repeat as Serie A Champions. Pato would remind the Milan faithful that he was still around, earning the start for the injured El Shaarawy. He dazzled the crowd with a spin move up the wing before using the short cross to give the ball inside to a wide open Boateng who would head it home in the 53'. Cagliari would even the match at 1 a piece with a brilliant one timer rom Pisano to Ekdal from 20 yards out. The curling bomb sliced through the back of the net, earning a few exclamations from the pro-Milan crowd. The final minutes were a battle back and forth, with both teams narrowly missing chances, but ultimately it would be Milan who would prevail in the 90'. Boateng would take the corner kick and the ball bounced around the goal area before somehow landing at Allen's feet. He would quickly slide the ball across the panicked defense of Cagliari, finding Strasser on the back side who would put away the easy goal for the Milan win. The San Siro faithful would see their team escape with another win, 2-1 over the visitors.

Milan Dominates Fiorentina With Stellar Play By Emanuelson

Emanuelson smiles at the contingent of Milan fans after a great performance

Urby Emanuelson reminded the Milan faithful why he is one of the first names on the Dutch national team sheet as he played wonderfully against a good Fiorentina side. Emanuelson might not get as much playing time on a star studded Milan club, but when he got his opportunity he not only played well, but got his teammates involved as well. The match got started with Emanuelson sending forward a long ball that would catch Allen in stride allowing the striker to put an easy goal past Neto in the 4'. Emanuelson would add 2 goals of his own in the game, the first coming off a slick volley into the top corner from a cross by Carmona. His second came on a one timed pass by Abate just in front of the defender Tomovic that he would put away in the 75'. Emanuelson would add his last assist at the end of the match on a sweaty goal to Carmona on a breakaway triggered by a long Muntari pass. Striker Jovetic and his Fiorentina teammates just could not put forth any sort of offensive gameplan, but nothing could spoil Emanuelson's performance on the day, socring two goals and grabbing two assists in a dominating win for Milan.

Milan Takes Care of Atalanta in El Shaarawy Return

El Shaarawy celebrates his return with a goal

Atalanta keeperConsigli screamed and pointed at his defenders to get into position, but it seemed like no matter what the Atalanta back line did, they could not stop the onslaught of the three Milan forwards brought back together for the first time in several weeks. Allen, Carmona, and the fully healed El Shaarawy headed the hydra known as the Milan attack, and they were relentless in their domination. El Shaarawy started the break in the 8' giving to Allen up the wing. He would center back to Carmona who would send the through pass to Allen again cutting into the box. Cazzola tried to close from way outside, but Allen just sweat the cross over the top to a wide open Boateng for the easy goal. From their it was all Milan, as El Shaarawy would get on the board in the 19' on a volley from an Allen cross, and once again Allen would add a goal of his own in the 56' off a bad clearance by the keeper. Milan start the new year off with a bang and move to 40 points in Seire A. With this victory they move into a tie for first place with rival Juventus.

Torino Hurdle to Tough to Handle for Milan

Torino has a lot to celebrate with a good result against Milan

Torino gave Milan all they could handle on a blistery day at home for them. The first half was full of shots at the two keepers Brkic and Gomis. They both played admirably, but the shot pace was once that could not prevent someone from eventually scoring, and score they did. Allen would get the goals started with a headed rebound into the top corner on a odd bounce on a Paulinho shot. Gomis made a nice diving save to prevent the Paulinho goal, only to hang his head after Allen somehow found a way to put it into the net. Torino would not be down for long, however, as N’Gog would use a give and go with Cerci to get inside the Milan back line and send in a finesse goal past Brkic. Cerci would add another assist to put Torino into the lead on a great lead pass to Willyan to get him on a one on one that he would easily put away for the 2-1 lead late in the match. Milan would stay composed and go on one last offensive to finish the match in a draw, as Allen would cross to an open Carmona inside the box for a wide open volley attempt that would find the back of the net. Milan would escape with a point, but Torino could only be happy with a good result against one of the hottest teams in the world right now. Up next for Milan is a rematch against the always strong Roma in San Siro.

I have created an account on these fourms just so I can tell you how much I've enjoyed reading this tale. Read the whole thing last night (well, I skipped most of the matches and just read the stats) and have thoroughly enjoyed the 'off-the-field' story you have woven into your FIFA career!

I stumbled across the 'Operation Sports' website whilst searching for something WWE 2k14 related and, whilst here, stumbled even further into the other forums that are around this place. I enjoy reading stories of other people games and yours is the first (of hopefully many!) I've come across.

Congrats man, very good work. Keep it up!

Thanks for the feedback. I'm glad someone is interested in the story element of this. That is what makes it fun to write.

I love writing this series, but it has become so hard to post regularly with my job getting hectic and a new baby in my household. I have so many ideas with this but by the time I get done with my day I've had a hard time sitting to write.

No worries though. I will still continue to post as often as I can and with a couple extra days this weekend I should be able to finish up this last FIFA 13 season and get to FIFA 14 with Allen.

Once again, thanks for the follow!

Roma Fight Hard, but Allen's Late Heroics Win the Day for Milan

The San Siro faithful were excited for a match against rival Roma

Two top flight teams would enter into San Siro, but ultimately it was the home side of Milan that took care of business against Roma. The game began with an early push by Roma that was parried by Milan, and once again the counter attacking might of Milan's 4-3-3 put pressure on Roma all afternoon. The resurgent El Shaarawy dissected the Roma midfield as De Rossi and Bradley could do nothing to stop the quick passing of Milan's attack. However, Stekelenburg was up to the task for Roma, rebuffing any shot that came near his domain. Roma would catch a break late in the second half, as Acerbi would take down Lamela inside the penalty area for a foul and penalty attempt. De Rossi would take the shot, and Brkic would guess the correct way, knocking the ball to his side to be cleared away. De Rossi was clearly frustrated with the shot, but nonetheless the match would continue on. It would be Allen who would be the hero on the day, as once again the magic man wearing number 2 would separate himself from his defenders, find a bit of space from about 25 yards out, and let a rip with his left foot towards the goal. The ball curled perfectly into the upper corner for the goal as Stekelenburg stood firm in disbelief. San Siro would go crazy, as the win would send Milan into a tie for first place in Serie A.

                  by Davide Siviglia

The halfway point of the season is here, and once again Juventus and Milan are battling it out at the top of the table with 44 points each. Inter is right behind both with 43 on their winning streak that they put together over the course of the last few games. One wonders if this season will come down to the wire just as last season did with Milan pulling it out in the end. If Alvin Allen continues to put together performances like he has of late, Milan should start to pull away in this second half of the season.

Allen is an unstoppable force this year

Well that is one way to respond to controversy. Alvin Allen has exploded through the first half of the season at a record setting pace. He leads the league in both goals and assists by a good margin, and has proven his mettle against the best players in the world in the Champions League, where Milan went undefeated in the group stage. Some are calling him a fraud, but the nay-sayers are starting to get drowned out by those chanting the young American's name.

Disaster Strikes for Milan as Allen Goes Down with an Injury

Milan manager Allegri shows concern for his star player

Allen charged up the pitch on a breakaway for a sure goal to put Milan up by 2 goals late in the first half. Luis Neto had no choice but to tackle him for a sure card, but in the aftermath, the Siena defender was the only one to rise back up off of the ground. The referee screamed for the trainers to come and initially forgot to even issue the red card ejection. A few cheered for Siena's fortune and a few booed thinking that Allen was faking an injury, but most of the 15,000 on hand for the game just watched in silence as the player was strapped to a gurney and taken off the field. The game would have to continue, and Milan would play keep away from Siena until the end of the match. El Shaarawy's 18' goal would remian the difference as Milan would win, but the question on everyone's mind was, would Alvin Allen be okay?

Heartbreak for Fans of AC Milan as Allen is Out for Season
                      by Dave Seville

Allen went down against Siena and did not move

They are the worst words a footballer want to hear. Alvin Allen is out for the season with a severe knee injury. Sources confirm that it is indeed a posterior cruciate ligament tear and Allen will require surgery to have the knee repaired. This could all but end Milan's title hopes in not only Serie A, but they looked poised to make a run in the Champions League this season as well. Allen had bounced back from a terrible controversy this off season and was on his way to a record setting performance. This will undoubtedly shake his focus as he looks to rehab from a tough injury.

Looming in the background of this news is Allen's contract situation. He will be going into his final year with Milan and rumors had been swirling about Milan selling the player for a hefty fee. How does this affect any possible transfer? Will Milan still move Allen, or maybe Allen himself will put in a transfer request? One has to believe that with the season Allen was putting together before the injury, someone will still want to offer major money for the American striker. But will he ever be able to return to form? One thing is for sure, there are more questions than answers at this point.

                              “How long?” I said, shocked.
“Well, signor, your knee is badly damaged and you’ll have to miss some time…” the doctor started in a thick Italian accent.
                              “Doc, how long?” I interrupted.
“Don’t be rude, Alvin,” a concerned Gabby commented from my bedside.
It was like a bad dream. No professional athlete ever wants to have to have a serious injury, yet hear I was in the hospital hearing from the doctor about my torn PCL and the rehabilitation steps. I would require surgery to repair the damage and would be done for the rest of the season.
The only thing preventing me from drifting into a depressed state was Gabby. She became my rock through this hard time. As her belly began to swell and she began to waddle around the house, I realized the life growing inside of her would be my inspiration to get back to work, rehabbing my knee to get back out on the field as soon as possible.
Speaking of the baby, planning for it seemed to take up most of my days away from the pitch. Gabby seemed to make it a point to make me a part of every, and I mean every, single decision, worry, care, and consideration when it came to the baby. The baby would be due sometime at the end of July. We decided we would not find out whether it was a boy or a girl, instead opting for a surprise on its birthday.
Alas, not everything was busted knees and baby rattles as the looming question of Gabby’s safety continued to hang over our heads. A.T. had stormed out after that fateful day when he found out about us, and my brother mostly avoided me over the course of those long months. That would all change on a mild March day when I was visited by a couple of unexpected guests.

Re: Mr. Second Place: An Autobiographical Tale of Alvin Allen (Fifa 13)

A dark Range Rover approached my front driveway. I opened the door expecting A.T., but instead Leo and my agent Gus were getting out of the vehicle. Suddenly in the distance I heard the distinct whirring roar of a motorcycle. It indeed was a motorcycle, and as it pulled up to the house I limped my way past the greetings of Leo and Gus.
“That’s a NCR Macchia Nera!” I exclaimed. “It’s one of the most beautiful motorcycles in the world, and it’s also one of the most rare.”
“Black spot,” the rider answered back to me in a slightly accented tone. “It’s one of Italy’s finest motorcycles.” I looked up to see a woman straddling the machine. She was fair of skin, with blonde, wavy hair and grey eyes. Some would call her beautiful, but I still remember the way she smiled at me that day, because the smile did not touch those eyes of steel.
“Alvin, I see you’ve met our guest, Taisia,” Leo stated to speak.
“No Leo,” I interrupted, “Just as I begin to finally find my happiness you always seem to weasel your way to me with some sort of deal. Not this time. You need to leave.”
“Why, darling, that happiness you speak of wouldn’t happen to be your girlfriend and your baby on the way would it?” Taisia said coolly as she got off the bike.
“Alvin, you had to know you couldn’t keep that a secret forever,” Leo continued. “It’s cold outside, why don’t we go in and chat about our future together, nipote?”
I sighed deeply. “Leo,” I pleaded as I limped back over to him, “You have tapped me out! I have nothing that you need.”
“In fact, there is something, Alvin. That’s why we are here and why we’ve brought your agent Gus. Our deal for A-81 with our buyer had a small piece that was necessary for the contract to be fulfilled,” Leo said matter of factly.
Taisia smirked as she walked around me, examining me like a piece of meat.
I already knew what the answer was, but I had to ask anyway, “And what was the piece that was missing from the deal, Leo?”
Taisia stopped her circling, leaned in close to my ear and whispered the chilling answer that I had expected, “You.”
“Alvin, this is Taisia Kosaryov , daughter of Matvei Kosaryov of the worldwide known Zvezda Industries. She is also the majority owner…”
“Of that professional football team,” I finished for him. “You can’t mean for me to play in England.”
Taisia was standing uncomfortably close to me, but as I turned to look at her she actually looked back at me with a thoughtful expression.
“Alvin, I was once a footballer myself before a knee injury ended my career,” as she once again stepped back and moved to stand with Leo across from me. “No one will be better equipped with the resources to get you back out there on the pitch.”
“Besides, Alvin, you don’t really have a choice,” Leo added. “The deal has been struck.”
“So I’ve been just sold like a piece of meat?” I said hotly.
Taisia laughed, “Oh stop, don’t act like you didn’t want to play in the Premier League. Plus, we’ll outbid anyone else for you services. Just imagine, you are going to a team with a history full of heartbreak. You’ll be able to leave controversy behind in Italy and become the biggest star my team has ever seen.”
She checked her watch. “Guys, it’s time we leave.” She went to get in the front seat of the Range Rover and Leo and Gus went to follow. “Your agent Gus and I will work out the details of your new contract.”
I was flustered by everything that had just happened. A mixture of excitement, anger, puzzlement, resentment, and regret were all bubbling inside me. All I could manage to say to her was, “You forgot your motorcycle.”
They all closed the doors and Leo started the engine, but before they could leave Taisia rolled down the window and smiled at me.
“Consider it a gift for when your knee feels better. I’ll see you in England, Mr. Allen.”
And with that they were gone. I walked back into the house where I was met by a waddling Gabby who had left her hiding place inside the house.
“Is the coast clear?” Gabby asked worriedly.
“Yeah, baby, we’re good.” I said reassuringly as I went to her to hold her.
She pulled back and gave me a strange look. “Something’s wrong, Alvin. What was that about?” she questioned.
“Well, Gabrielle Anthony, it looks like we are moving to England.”
