    TAG CONTENDERS TOURNAMENT
    WEEK 3 OF 4

Tonight is semi-finals night. Here's a look at the bracket.

As you can see, the two teams that made their AEW debut as a part of this tournament, CCK and The Bouncers, advanced to the semi finals and have an opportunity to go all the way. Standing in their way are two formidable tag teams composed of some of the top stars in AEW. Anything can happen as we get ready for the big two matches with a warm up, tag champs in action.

Warm up match - The American Wolves vs. Crime Time

A good showcase tag match between the champs and a team that wasn't able to qualify for the tourney. Crime Time has a good showing against The Wolves, but in the end Richards slaps on an ankle lock on JTG that he can't escape. JTG taps out right before Shad is able to make a save.

The American Wolves win by pinfall

A female interviewer enters the ring.

Interviewer: Davey, Eddie, you two are the reigning tag team champions. How does it feel watching an entire tournament unfold to decide who's next in like for your titles?

Both men are still catching their breath.

Eddie: Well mam... What's your name again?

    Interviewer: Alicia

Eddie: Well Alicia all I can say is we're glad that this tournament is happening, because it just shows that the AEW World Tag Team Championships are the most sought after tag belts in the world. So to whoever wins, I can't wait to get in the ring with you and defend these babies

Richards: Don't think for a minute that we're sitting back complacent as champions. The hunt is still on!

    The champs walk off.
    ---

Round 2 Tourney Match - The Bouncers vs. PAC & Jay Lethal

The size difference is the story of this match as both Lethal and PAC struggle mightily to even knock either man off their feet early on. It seems like their strikes aren't doing a thing to either 300+ pound man. PAC especially seems to struggle in this matchup as he's unable to get much offense going at all against either Milonas or BCB.

Lethal does spark a comeback however and he's able to swing the momentum of the matchup. In the end Lethal turns a hard irish whip from The Beer City Bruiser into Lethal Injection out of nowhere. 1-2-3.

PAC & Lethal win by pinfall

The unlikely duo does it again! Even despite the struggles of PAC, they're able to keep it together and knock off the much larger team. PAC and Lethal are going to the finals.

    ---

Round 2 Tourney Match - CCK vs. The Golden Lovers

The match begins with some chain wrestling between Kid Lykos and Ibushi. Lykos is impressive, but Ibushi gets the better of him. After some hard hitting Ibushi offense, Lykos is able to tag in Chris Brookes who comes in hot, taking down the now legal Kenny Omega.

Some back and forth for a while as CCK are extremely impressive against the high level competition. The crowd is pretty equally split as they love CCK, but respect the hell out of Omega and Ibushi.

Omega goes for the Omega Driver on Lykos, but Lykos turns around and tosses Omega with a hurricanrana. Omega gets up and gets planted with a brainbuster! 1-2... Ibushi breaks it up. Could CCK have won it right there?

Omega sets up Lykos in the corner. He picks him up and places him on his shoulders in electric chair position, then gets runs to the middle of the ring and hits a thunderous Omega Driver. Brookes runs in but he's caught by an Ibushi superkick. 1-2...3!

The Golden Lovers win by pinfall

The Golden Lovers now advance to the finals and we have our matchup set. Next week in the finals it will be The Golden Lovers taking on the hottest new tag team in AEW, PAC and Jay Lethal. The winners receive a shot at The American Wolves tag titles.

AEW August Week 2 & Tag Contenders Tournament Finals Preview
      by Paul Marshall

In the main event, The Lucha Brothers will be taking on Chris Jericho’s personal hired security. It’s Pentagon and Fenix vs. The Beer City Bruiser and Brian Milonas.

PJ Blacks manager Chavo Guerrero will step in the ring once again, this time against the man he screwed out of the Junior Elite Title, Will Ospreay.

Also in juniors division action, two men who are also struggling with PJ Black and Chavo Guerrero will go one on one as Johnny Elite takes on TJ Perkins.

An announcement was made on the AEW website, the Brian Cage/Dave Mastiff rivalry has now officially been made a best of 5 series, with the winner receiving a future title shot. *Currently, they are 1-1.

The IC title scene continues to heat up. What's next for Walter as he continues to run through the division.

The entirety of The Bullet Club has been given the week off. After the drama of last week, they definitely have a lot to work out.

      ---

It’s the finals of the tag contenders tourney. The two finalists are The Golden Brothers and PAC & Jay Lethal. Who will win a shot at the world tag team championships? Either way, The American Wolves will be watching close.

Also in action will be the two semi finalist tag teams of CCK and The Bouncers. The two teams will face off, with the winners receiving an official AEW contract. It'll be interesting to see how The Bouncers perform, considering that they will be pulling double duty as they do Jerichos dirty work earlier in the night against Pentagon and Fenix.

Re: All Elite Wrestling (AEW) - WWE 2K19 Universe Mode

        August Week 2

Jim Ross: We welcome you here live to another episode of AEW! Expect another night of great action.

Mike Tenay: That's right partner, and we saw it announced on the AEW website, tonights main event will see The Lucha Brothers taking on the hired muscle of Chris Jericho in tag team action as they look for revenge on The Bouncers.

Jim Ross: Speaking of revenge, we saw Brian Cage get revenge on Dave Mastiff last week and pick up the win. Now their rivalry has been turned into a best of 5 series, and they're at 1 and 1.

Mike Tenay: And partner we saw it last week, the newest member of Bullet Club is Nic Nemeth. I sat down with Bullet Club leader Cody for an exclusive interview about the state of Bullet Club, and that interview will air later tonight.

        ---

Match #1 - Dave Mastiff vs. Brian Cage

This is now the third week in a row these two men have faced off, and each match just gets more and more aggressive. This is less of a wrestling match at this point and more of a brawl. The match spills to ringside and goes all around the ring.

Cage goes for a move from the top rope, but Mastiff moves. Cage sells his ankle which seems to be hurt. Mastiff runs the ropes and floors Cage with a running crossbody. Mastiff wins it.

        Dave Mastiff wins by pinfall

Mastiff takes advantage of a possible injury to Cage and goes up 2-1 in the best of 5.

        ---

Match #2 - Johnny Elite vs. TJ Perkins

The two men shake hands before the bell rings, and then it's on. This is a high paced showdown in the Junior Elite division. Some exciting offense from both men including a baseball slide through the ropes from Elite, and a 450 splash from Pekins that gets a 2 count. In the end, Elite catches Perkins with Moonlight Drive and wins it.

        Johnny Elite wins by pinfall

        ---

The Intercontinental Champion Walter makes his way down to the ring.

Walter: Last week I once again defended my title in a triple threat. After-

Walter is cut off by the music of Eli Drake

Drake: Wait a damn minute big guy. Last week you defended that title in a triple threat against me and PCO, but guess who didn't get pinned... E-LI DRAKE! So since you're so damn confident about your title reign, why don't I step in that ring and you put up that belt one on one against me.

The crowd pops. Walter looks around before speaking.

        Walter: BRING IT ON!

Match #3 - Intercontinental Championship - Walter © vs. Eli Drake

The match begins and Drake runs at Walter for a body tackle, but Walter swats him out of the way and sends him flying. From then on it's all Walter, with Drake leaving the ring multiple times to collect himself. Drake gets a few strikes in, but in the end Walter puts Drake down with a powerbomb and wins it.

        Walter wins by pinfall

Walter is absolutely dominant. 3 defenses now on his IC Championship.

        ---

Backstage, Fenix is being interviewed. By his side is a translator.

Interviewer: Fenix tonight you compete in tag team action alongside your partner, the world champion Pentagon Jr.

The translator relays the question, and Fenix answers.

Translator: Fenix says that he's willing to do whatever it takes to help Pentagon Jr, and he won't let Chris Jericho or The Bouncers get away with what they did a the tag tournament.

Okada walks into the shot. He gets in Fenix's face.

Okada: I beat you... twice. Don't interview him. Interview me.

Okada pushes Fenix and Fenix pushes him back, and an all out brawl breaks out! The translator and the interviewer both run away as both men beat the hell out of each other. Okada tosses Fenix into the wall backstage, then stomps on his arm!

Security rushes in to break the brawl up. Fenix is holding his arm and writhing in pain. Will he be able to compete later tonight.
        ---

Match #4 - Chavo Guerrero vs. Will Ospreay

Chavo steps to Ospreay in the middle of the ring and slaps him right in the face. Ospreay answers back with a double leg takedown and starts raining down punches. Ospreay takes his time beating down the man who cost him his title match at Heatwave, and PJ Black is nowhere in sight to help his friend. Ospreay hits a flip DDT and wins it.

        Ospreay wins by pinfall

        ---
Mike Tenay sat down with Cody earlier in the week to talk about the state of Bullet Club

Tenay: Cody over the past few months we've witnessed the implosion of The Bullet Club here in AEW, and it seems to have started with the introduction of Next Gen Unrivaled into the group. Do you have any regrets?

Cody takes a deep breath and sighs.

Cody: Before I added Hall and Finlay to the team, The Bucks and I were on a month long losing streak. The moment I added them, we started to see W's on the board. The only thing I regret is that The Bucks are too damn stubborn to see that.

Tenay: But certainly you must be upset about how things ended up... looking a the greater picture.

Cody: I told you how I feel about it.

Tenay: Fair enough. Now I have to ask you the question on everybody's mind. Nic Nemeth... what do you have to say about him being introduced to Bullet Club last week.

Cody: I have no comment about that except to say nothing about it is official.

Tenay: Well Cody The Bucks made the point that they have been in Bullet Club longer than you. Do you have the authority to veto the decision?

Cody: I didn't say that. I told you I'm not getting into it right now with you. This interview is done.

Cody stands up and removes the mic from inside his shirt, then walks of the set of the interview.

        ---

The participants in tonights main event make their entrances, but there's no Fenix. He was injured earlier tonight by Okada, and so it appears we have a handicap match.

Match #5 - Pentagon Jr. vs. The Bouncers

The world champion has a tall task in front of him. He starts by going for the legs of The Beer City Bruiser. Despite taking some offense, he's mostly successful. He takes control and gets a few near falls on the big man. However, when Milonas tags in Pentagon has a brand new 300+ pounder to deal with. Pentagon starts to tire out, and The Bouncers take over.

Quick tags and constant hard hitting offense allow Milonas and Bruiser to keep Pentagon down. On multiple occasions Pentagon manages to mount some offensive flurries, but every time he's shut down, or the illegal man gets a cheap shot in on the outside. In the end, Milonas hits Pentagon with a powerslam, then a massive splash. The Bouncers win it.

        The Bouncers win by pinfall

The Bouncers just pinned the world champion, but it's much less impressive in a handicap match. Chris Jericho comes down to the ring now. He picks up Pentagon and lays him out with a codebreaker. The show ends with Jericho and The Bouncers holding their arms up high over the body of Pentagon.

        ---

          TAG CONTENDERS TOURNAMENT
          WEEK 4 OF 4

Jim Ross: AEW comes to you here on Facebook Live for the finals of the Tag Contenders Tourney.

A graphic pops up for The Bouncers vs. CCK match

Mike Tenay: But before we get to that highly anticipated finals match, we have a showdown between the two semi-finals exits. And this is a big one partner, because the winning team will receive a full time main roster contract, and for the losing team it's sayonara.

Ross: The Bouncers just minutes ago got out of a tag match with Pentagon Jr, so they won't be 100%. What's gonna happen if The Bouncers lose and Chris Jericho loses his security team?

Tenay: We could only be so lucky.

          ---
PAC and Jay Lethal are backstage being interviewed by new AEW interviewer, Alicia Atout.

Alicia: PAC, Lethal, you two decided last minute you wanted to enter this tournament and try your luck as a tag team. Now, you're in the finals. Are you surprised by your quick success as a tag team?

Lethal: I have to say Alicia I'm not surprised at all believe it or not. You see when I asked PAC to join this tournament with me it's because I knew we could be the best tag team in the world. And yeah we haven't been teaming long, but if we got to the finals, there's no reason we can't win it all.

PAC: Alicia I had no plans of entering the tag team division, but tonight when we win this tournament, and when we go on to become the tag team champions, that's when it'll all be worth it.

Alicia: Well good luck to the both of you

Third Place Match - Winner receives AEW contract - CCK vs. The Bouncers

The crowd is firmly behind the underdog tag team of CCK. The Bouncers are a little worn down after their handicap match against Pentagon Jr. but they're still able to use their size advantage to gain control of the matchup. The match is mostly Milonas and Bruiser getting the heat on either member of CCK, with short bursts of offense from the faces.

That is until Pentagon Jr emerges from the entranceway. Pentagon is selling the beatdown from earlier in the AEW main event, but he's holding a steel chair and is determined to come down to the ring and do some damage. Kid Lykos takes advantage of the distraction by knocking Brian Milonas off the apron, and knocking the Beer City Bruiser down with a roundhouse kick. Lykos hits a split legged moonsault off the top rope. 1-2-3!

          Spoiler

CKK has done! With that, CCK earns themselves a main roster contract, and perhaps just as important is the fact that Jerichos security has NOT earned themselves a contract.

Pentagon Jr. comes down to the ring now steel chair in hand and starts beating down Milonas and BCB. Chair shots to the backs of both men over and over until the chair is bent and nearly broken. Pentagon then makes a "cut throat" gesture and points towards the camera. A clear message to Y2J.

          ---

Alicia Atout is backstage getting a quick interview with The Golden Lovers before the finals match.

Alicia: We're moments away from the tournament finals. Kenny, Kota, what's on your mind?

Kenny: Alicia me and Kota have been teaming for a long time. Our opponents tonight are a hell of a tag team after only a few matches... but that's only a few matches. We want that shot agains the American Wolves bad, and we're gonna make sure we get it tonight. So Lethal, PAC, your moment is gonna have to wait.

Omega and Ibushi's music hits and they head out to the ring.
TOURNAMENT FINALS - The Golden Lovers vs. PAC & Jay Lethal

The match begins with the awesome matchup of PAC vs. Omega. The two men go back and forth for a while as a preview of a possible future main event singles match. Eventually the tags start flying, and so do the bodies. This match is 100 mph all the way through and nearly even right down the middle as both teams bring their A game. There's multiple near falls saves including off a Lethal Injection on Omega, and an Omega Driver on PAC.

In the end PAC goes for Black arrow, but Omega moves. PAC quickly tags in Lethal who runs at Omega for a lariat, but Omega ducks. CUTTER! Lethal plants Omega. The place slows down as Lethal decides what he wants to do next with Omega. Lethal goes to pick up Omega by his head, but Omega was playing possum, rollup pin. 1-2-3! Lethal got caught.

          Spoiler

The Golden Lovers are the winners of the tag contenders tourney, and have earned themselves a shot at the tag team champions, The American Wolves.

After a celebration by Omega and Ibushi, PAC and Lethal are left in the ring. PAC looks very confused about what happened. The match was in their hands, and in a second it was all over. Lethal and PAC are in the middle of the ring discussing the end of the match, when all of the sudden PAC levels Lethal with a spinning back pick to the gut! The crowd lets out a collective "ohhhh!"

PAC mounts up on Lethal and starts raining down right hands over and over and over again. PAC has absolutely snapped! PAC exclaims "you wanna waste my time?" over and over again. PAC then locks in Rings of Saturn on Lethal. Lethal taps, and a good 10 seconds later PAC finally lets go. The final image of the show is PAC heavily breathing with his eyes closed as the crowd showers him in boos.

Mamma MIA! Haha, heck of an end of the tournament!

Jericho is alone...and a masked man is going to destroy him. I'm excited for Pentagon and Jericho.

That main event was so good. PAC snapping and destroying Lethal was so necessary, and Golden Lovers vs. Wolves is going to be damn good.

Great finals to the tournament. Everything about the show was great.

One thing...the CCK-Bouncers match would be for 3rd place.

Thank Bard. Really liking the stories I have going on now.

One thing about this is I'm not planning months ahead. Basically a lot of what happens is off the top of my head - so I don't even know what's gonna happen!

AEW announces "IMPLOSION" IPPV, Huge Show in Store for AEW August Week 3
                    by Paul Marshall

AEW will be hosting another IPPV, this one called "IMPLOSION." It will be their second IPPV away from NYC after Heatwave in California, as this event will take place in three weeks in Chicago Illinois.

                    ---

AEW is planning a big time card for next Thursday's show.

A MAJOR main event in store as Pentagon Jr. will finally get Chris Jericho one on one in the main event, non title. With The Bouncers loss at the Tag Contenders Tourney, Pentagon is gonna have Y2J all to himself.

In the Junior division, three men who have all been gunning for PJ Black will face off in a triple threat match. It's Johnny Elite vs. Will Ospreay vs. TJ Perkins, and the winner will challenge Black at IMPLOSION.

The Young Bucks will be in action for the first time in three weeks as they take on The Briscoe Brothers. Has the addition of Nic Nemeth brought new life to the tag team?

After Okadas attack last week on Fenix, the two will face off in a 1v1 match. With The Bouncers out of the picture, Fenix is free to stop focusing on helping Pentagon, and to start focusing on Okada.

Brian Cage defeated Dave Mastiff at a live event last monday. That moves their series to 2-2. They'll get the week off and the winner will be decided next week.

CCK will make their AEW debut as they take on former tag team champions, Sabre & Sabin.

                          August Week 3

Jim Ross: Live from New York City, AEW comes to you with a HUGE card.

Mike Tenay: Right on Jim, and what I'm most excited about is this, our main event. FINALLY Pentagon Jr. is gonna get Chris Jericho one on one in the middle of the ring.

Jim Ross: And how about this partner. Okada and Fenix one on one after Okadas attack on the masked luchador backstage last week.

Jim Ross: That's gonna be a slobber knocker Mike, and speaking of slobber knockers we've got #1 contenders action right now!

                          ---

Match #1 - Junior Elite #1 Contenders - TJ Perkins vs. Johnny Elite vs. Will Ospreay

The bell rings and its 100 mph from the jump. Exactly what you'd expect from a juniors multi man match. We get about 8 minutes of solid action when all of the sudden Chavo Guerrero and Junior Elite Champion PJ Black run down to the ring and start attacking all three participants.

                          NO CONTEST

Black grabs a kendo stick and goes back and forth between all three men, leaving them all with bright red marks on their backs. Black holds the kendo stick high over his head as Chavo holds Black championship, and the crowd boos.

                          ---

Match #2 - CCK vs. Sabre & Sabin

The crowd is hot for the brand new tag team of Chris Brookes and Kid Lykos, otherwise known as CCK. They put on an awesome tag match that has the crowd on the edge of their seats. There's multiple heat segments where Sabre & Sabin work the arms of their opponents as they're known to do. Brookes and Lykos bring that exciting quick agile style that always pops the crowd.

Lykos goes up top for a diving move on Sabin, but Sabre Jr walks over to the turnbucks. Sabin distracts the ref for a moment feigning an eye injury, and Sabre pushes Lykos off the top rope. Sabin knocks Brookes off the apron with a superkick, then plants Lykos with the Cradle Shock to win it.

Sabre & Sabin win by pinfall

Sabre and Sabin run off as Brookes gets in the ring to check on his partner. Sabre & Sabin steal the win using underhanded tactics, but a promising performance for the debuting CCK.

                          ---
Backstage, Nic Nemeth is with The Young Bucks delivering a promo to the camera

Nemeth: Fans of AEW I just wanna thank you all for the warm reception you all gave me two weeks ago. After all the bulls*it and drama you had to sit through with The Bullet Club, it's about time The Young Bucks get a chance to get in that ring and do what they do best, WRESTLE.

Matt: Damn right. Briscoe Brothers, tonight you're step one in the rebuilding of The Bullet Club, and we won't need brass knuckles or green mist to do it either.

Nemeth , Matt, and Nick 2 sweet and the promo ends.

                          ---

Match #3 - Okada vs. Fenix

A bell to bell brawl that takes place outside the ring moreso than inside. Both men throw each other into the steel steps, the ring post, and use the barricade as a weapon against each other. Fenix sells an arm injury as a result of Okadas attack last week that plays into the psychology of the match.

In the end, Okada goes to put Fenix away with a Rainmaker, but Fenix quickly turns it into a roll up and surprised Okada for the 1-2-3!

                          Fenix wins by pinfall

Fenix quickly exits the ring gripping his injured arm. Okada is incensed and he argues with the ref about the count being too fast. Regardless this one is in the books, Okadas third career loss in AEW, and it comes at the hands of Fenix.

                          ---

Match #4 - The Young Bucks (w/ Nic Nemeth) vs. The Briscoe Brothers

Match of the night for sure. This is main event level tag team action between two team that know each other so well. It's back and forth action between both team with multiple pin break false finishes. Jay Briscoe even kicks out of a Nick Jackson 450 without needing a pin break. The match gets a this is awesome chant at the 12 minute mark.

The end comes with Nick and Matt hitting More Bang for your Buck on Mark and picking up the clean victory.

The Young Bucks win by pinfall

Nemeth hops in the ring and the three men celebrate. The Bucks are back in the win column, no cheating necessary.

Jim Ross: One has to wonder if Cody and Next Gen Unrivaled are watching this at home.

                          ---

It's main event time, Pentagon finally gets Jericho one on one!

Jericho makes his entrance first, and he has the crowd firmly against him.

Next is Pentagon, but once he reaches the top of the ramp, The Beer City Bruiser and Brian Milonas jump him from behind with steel chairs!

Jim Ross: What in the hell! The Bouncers! They aren't contracted to AEW, what the hell are they doing here!?

The Bouncers beat the hell out of Pentagon with the steel chairs. Milonas takes Pentagons lifeless body and carries him down the ramp and into the ring. Jericho grabs a mic.

Jericho: Pentagon you stupid son of a b*tch. I told you that you aren't gonna lay a hand on me unless it's one on one for the AEW World Heavyweight Championship.

The Bouncers hold up Pentagon by his arms and Jericho starts slapping him.

Jericho: These two men aren't a part of the AEW roster, but they are hired as my security, which means wherever I go, they go. This is just gonna keep happening until you give me my title shot.

The Bouncers toss Pentagon towards Jericho, CODEBREAKER.

For the second week in a row Jericho and The Bouncers stand tall over a broken Pentagon Jr. It seems Jericho has mapped out a plan, and he's executing it perfectly.

Great show. Your storylines are really smooth and easy to follow with the smaller roster and having fewer shows.

The Young Bucks winning is big. Can’t wait to see the rivalry between Bullet Club and Next Gen Unrivaled continue.

Of course The Boucners are still around.

Yup, that was my plan with this format. Also helps that I can move through the calendar so seamlessly.

The BC story is really the overarching story of the whole Universe Mode isn't it. It's probably gonna go on for a long time, with some on and offs in between.

Preview for AEW August Week 4
                                by Paul Marshall

Both Bullet Club tag teams will be in action. First, The Young Bucks look to finally get a winning streak going as they compete against Crime Time. Also, in the main event, Next Gen Unrivaled will go head to head with the Tag Team Champions, The American Wolves.

Rey Fenix will go up against the reigning IC Champion Walter. Fenix looks to ride the wave of momentum after his win against Okada last week.

The best of 5 series between Dave Mastiff and Brian Cage will finally come to an end. The winner will earn a shot at Walters IC Championship.

Junior Elite Champion PJ Black claims to have an announcement to make regarding the IMPLOSION IPPV. This comes after he and Chavo Guerrero interfered with the number one contenders match last week, resulting in a no contest.

Jay Lethal will be in the building to break his silence. One has to imagine he has a lot to say about PAC after being stabbed in the back after the finals of the Tag Contenders Tournament.
