DAMN! What did Devin do to drop 81 spots. I know people get better, but wow.

Oh, and they went 9-4, not 13-0

Cebby's post was tongue in cheek. Of course Rivals is doing a great job this year, Auburn's killing it in recruiting, lol.

Lots of head scratchers in the rankings. They're starting to put way too much stock into the all-star games and ignoring the whole picture.

When was the last time the #1 MLB was only a 4*?

Rivals SEC bias is more prevalent this year than ever before!

Non-SEC recruits shall not be rated higher than SEC recruits.

Which is really bad because football doesn't lend itself to All Star games.

I try not to criticize rankings too much because overall it's an almost impossible process to get right. Some guys don't go to camps in the summer so they aren't on the radar. During the season you have guys who look good against bad competition, hindered by injury, and look better or worse because of the talent around them. You've got best on best in the all-star games but like mass said football really isn't a sport for an all-star game when kids are coming in from all over to get ready in a week for a game as well as do drills that help the services/schools evaluate them. Not to mention the stress of the recruiting process at these games like the USC commits who learned PC was moving on the night before and it seemed to affect Kyle Prater. I mean I like seeing Michigan and UF get recruits that are highly ranked, but it doesn't mean jack once they hit campus.
                MLB: Rays
                NCAA: Michigan and Florida
                NFL: 49ers
                NHL: Lightning and Ducks

Looking more into it, Rivals just seemed to C+P a lot of the decriptions for the recruits. I think they don't give a eff anymore.

#5 CB Terrence Mitchell Announcing Tomorrow- likely for FSU

As we discussed yesterday, he is a 'Nole lock at this point. Mitchell is considered the 5th best cornerback nationally by rivals and is no slouch per ESPN or Scout either. This would give FSU the #1 (Lamarcus Joyner) and #5 rated corners in the country.

Pappa Thornton's UGA fandom seems to be pushing Mike to be a Bulldog. Eh, what can you do? Maybe we can snag Jones along with Whitaker.
